Our project is finally taking some sort of shape now...had a really exasperating session today..but things are finally beginning to work...The concept of our project is something very new and useful ...but I doubt whether the demo that we've prepared brings out these things very well....the thing is that it is really very difficult to understand what we've actually done,just by watching the demo.Though first time viewers may feel it as something relatively trivial and easy...it's not that simple.Believe me,we've had a tough time! Got to learn a lot of new things though and also the satisfaction of doing something different....but at the cost of some extremely testing times...!Lets see what happens at Concepts now...

Dilemma

Class trip or project...was the question and finally we decided to stay back and complete our project and give-up our class trip! Whole day (& evening & night) everyone tried and tried to persuade..but in vein...sadly..! Really could not have afforded to lose 2 days...with Concepts up the nose...but the trip in it's own sense is also equally important ...esp when we were goin out as a class for the first time...feeling terribly awkward abt the whole scenario...I hav hurt many today..sayin ...NO NO NO! but afterall they're my friends and I'm sure they understand me.Anyways..we have done this for our project and for Concepts...and it is the right decision too...but I just can't resist myself from thinking the otherway...

yEP.Here it is..finally got the excuse to re-start bloggin today.I am back now and back with a bang.Tis one of those days today on which everything just works for you.It, just,works, for you! Gotta call from Imran in the morning - our project is selected for Concepts! ...a national project exhibition/competition...Whoaaala!Well begun is half done..but the evening had something bigger in store for me...our 7th semester results were out..(now let me blow my trumpet)..me gettin disti (aka first class with distinction) and I stood 2nd in class.Can't (read really can't!) ask for more given the kinds of problems I faced in PL's..not (only)with studies..but also some (actually many) others...all said and done...but as of now..it's parrtty time! And yes everyone's invited!

Yes.It's true..finally the exam ended today.No joys ...no sorrows a plain exam..not too bad..(now do I dare say that?) and not too good.Mediocre. Am I no more a kid who's elated on such things as exam ends..? Am I now an engineering student who has learnt that exams are but natural..and that they will come and go? I don't know! Entering into the last semester now...hope that I have a descent result for this exam(actually today's paper wsan't all that good ..!) . It's all in that magic number..40.

Blogging after an eternity today..got my first theory paper tommorrow..hope it goes well. At the moment literally thousands of weird concepts are partying their heart out..using my brain for dancefloor.Every dog (concept) has it's day!Actually everythings' a concept..and some concepts are materializations of other concepts..heck, whot the hell am I blog-spitting..?..ok will come back with sensible posts after these testing times are gone...wish me luck! (Lot's of it please!)

Had heard about blog syndication lately..but got the actual concept today! Yet another oral exam!

ISS oral exam went underway today...again went very well.Two students are interviewed at a time and fortunately..I got easier questions as compared to my partner. .(but I was prepared for the tough ones too :) ).The examiner ..again was from industry and was really very cool.I have put up detailed description of the questions and answers on my techblog..read them.. (and predict my marks!). The theory exam's starting from 2nd dec..the timetable was declared yesterday.Gotta lot of gaps in between: 2, 4 ,9, 11 and 14. Now, must prepare well ..also gotto do a bit of work for our FYP..but I doubt to what extent we will be able to that.. still we will need to do atleast the design part.BTW..blogexplosion rates my blog as 7 stars...(10 is great).. so,not bad at all!Actually I should have studied a bit more seriously for today's oral..so that it would have helped me in the theories.. anyway..theres no point in regretting...I guess the irony of having potential (?..) and not exploiting it to the fullest will continue to haunt me,all my life..!

Phew!Atlast..gave my ADBMS & STQA practical and oracle exam today.. went really well..the bestest practical exam I ever had! Had to design a Hostel management system in VB - Oracle..with the use of triggers,cursors, stored procedures and indexes.Back-end was never going to be a problem...and VB also worked very well! ..so I am like in a yo-thats-it mood .The external examiner was from industry and hence asked practical questions...also Garje sir asked good questions and I was able to answer them..I really hope to get good marks for today's work...hope everything goes well..Now got another oral exam on thursday..may history repeat itself and relieve me! Then..we'll have theory papers..somewhere in beginning of december.Readers of my blog are increasing and I know that...but I have limitations currently..gotto study..(na?),so please be patient.As soon as the exams are over..I'll be back in the usual bloggin mooood .. with lots of new stuff..also the techblog that I promised.Till then...be patient..as of today I am swinging..tap-dancing....sing with me..La..LaaaaaaaaLa..La..

12 hours and 15 mins remain.We've to submit 3 fully tested,documented systems..and we've just got one barely working.Still, we hope to do the submission..just because the teacher happens to be ..sort of a friend of mine..(just 1 yr older..).Utter shame.We are lamers...I dunno what my team-mates think..atleast I feel like a loser.It's like a beggar thriving on sympathy of people..Are we too smart..too casual? too talented?..remember a lesson we learnt in school..the Cop and the Anthem..a streetser Soapy..deliberately getting himself arrested..so that he can get some food..and a rag to sleep on..on the island of Blackwells. Living without dignity is worse than death for me...I don't like to give excuses..neither do I like doing things just for their sake..but I have to do it tommorow..I have to hope that someone pitties me..I have to beg..I have to plead..I have to try hopelessly to defend myself...I am ashamed.Ashamed of myself.

When a program works..

Got it.Finally got my ISS program for challenge-response protocol working.Did it when I knew java just for it's name..but finally read and read what was needed and completed the job.The feeling's just great..after 2 days of research & hard work..(you see I am a very average student..) finally did it..Java really rocks but ,now got to get a good IDE.Faced a lots of problems within these two days..not just the program..but also others..but kept on doing it.I guess difficulties and all sorts of problems will continue to be there ..it's all about who gives up first..you or your problems..

Topsy Turvy & how..?

It's just amazing how things just go wrong when they go wrong! Bad days are back again ..@ the end of semester you remember that you have 2 (or 3?) (not sure...) projects to complete,journals to write and also take print-outs.The mad rush for printers just kills me..also we have irritating printers which are never sure of themselves..heck...Everything that has a probability of crashing/collapsing/failing/erring ..has to crash/collapse/fail/err NOW!It's like now or never for them!Okt crashed ,SSE crashed,ELPS crashed,PQM crashed,JC crashed,...(I've used encoded names here not to hurt emotional ppl:)).Whatever I do..sincerely did JSP ....didn't work...did ISS CR prog...didn't work...& finally after ending up with 2 full days..& nights..I find I've done nothing!!Atleast..our FYP is going on a right note..I am fed-up of engineering...I want to work..work on real projects...in the real environment ..I am counting my days....Somehow I want these days to elapse...atleast this grotesque patch of a typical semester-end..PL's are certainly better..cos thats when you understand what you were supposed to learn in the semester. Enough of crying now ..let me sleep.Everything'll be fine soon..as always!

Finally delivered my seminar today.Went quite well - 22 mins. Was able to answer most of the questions..just another example of how things go right if you think positive.It's not how you prepare or how you cram the topic,it's whether you've understood it and whether you can explain,not narrate it to others.Finally keepin ur cool is the key...you might not have prepared well or might be feeling down...but all that matters is how you think...so, always think positive..and you'll never have to face the negatives...believe me!

8.30 p.m.Tilak road.My seminar's up in a couple of days, so had to get myself a print-out.Went in the all in one shop-Virat. A man tryin to make his point aggressivley,

' Xerox mein 2 page single hain...60 paise kam honge..'

The man on the other side agrees.Again,for some another reason,

' Woh X ke samne Y dukaan hain wahan pe 8 Rs mein dete hain '

Again the man behind the counter agrees. This is so cheap! Why are people so calculative? Why are they always bargaining? No one gets richer or poorer by earning or spending a rupee or two more. It's the attitude that matters.Why are we always trying to give as less as we can to servants,postmen,street vendors and their kind? Why do we try to deny these people miniscule joys ..which are so rare for them? Have you watched the ecstasy on the face of vegetable vendor when he earns 50 paise more? Why can't we be the reason for such happiness...what is 50 paise for us?..and.. what is it for them? Ironically,we never bargain at Pizza Hut (I luuuv pizzas..but that's another issue!) or Shopper's Stop... I don't say that we just spend like anything and stop being money concious...but as people...as humans who are more privileged...can't we bear the loss of a rupee or two for pleasing those who are less fortunate than us? Think...
