Pharmacy Technician Training Program

Are you thinking about becoming a pharmacy technician? Do you only know a little about what is involved in this profession but are fascinated and want to learn more? As a pharmacy technician you will spend the majority of your work day assisting a pharmacist in filling prescriptions for customers. You will be responsible for measuring and pouring liquid medicines, filling jars or tubes with creams, salves, and ointments and in some situations counting out pills or tablets for prescriptions. You will also be required to create the label that will be used on the customer’s prescription. It will be very important that you are consistently accurate and reliable in your work environment. In addition, some places of employment will be designed in such a way that pharmacy technicians interact with the end user or customer.

In this career path, you will likely work within a hospital setting, a long-term care facility (such as a nursing home), independently owned drug stores, or franchise drugstores (such as Walgreens or Target). This career path is a fast growing area of employment, so now is a great time to enter this field!
