Hi Lloyd,
I no longer feel alone or crazy when I claim that interferon absolutely ruined my life. I have been on several antidepressant combinations to no avail. I took peg interferon with Ribovirin April 2002-2003. I have never been the same. I have told family, friends, doctors, psychiatrists, counselors ect...that I have lost my personality, ability to think and even my spirit to this medicine.

Mr Wright, I first learned in 2005 when i was diagnosised with hep c about your success in overcoming hep c. There was enough information listed in your book to convince me that interferon was not the answer. I began telling others about your book and the positive impact of the nutrients you took to rid this monster disease. Before i ordered any products to see for myself you provided enough convincing information to not warrant me to go ahead with the treatment that the doctor was so adamant that I needed. I did interferon / ribavirin therapy from June 2008 - December 2008. It was not successful in eradicating the virus. It did, however, prove a complete success in disfiguring me, robbing me of my athleticism and life force, and dulling my cognitive abilities. I developed psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. I have embarrassing and isolating rashes where the sun doesn't shine. I constantly go to sun tan booths to keep things in check. My muscles and joints hurt badly. My brain has been "altered." That part has slowly gotten better, but it took 2 1/2 years and I am still not the same person I was before. At least I am not quite so mentally unable to comprehend, prioritize, organize and do.

Hi LloydThank you for your interesting website.

I took interferon/ribvarin for 17 weeks, I didn't feel well at all and with consultation with the doctor it was agreed I would stop treatment. Within a week of stopping treatment, my eyes swelled and became very painful, and I couldn't speak properly. I then developed pain all through my body and became so weak I couldn't support my body and experienced a lot of pain in my joints and muscles.

Hi LLoyd! I just quit the interferon treatment after 3 weeks, a psychotic meltdown, breaking a wall, trying to break my boyfriends face, wanting to die and ending up in hospital. Then the guilt from quitting the treatment was making me feel suicidal – until I saw you.

I hope we all can get together and find an attorney to represent us in this situation. I have hep C. I contracted through a blood transfusion in 1989. I have the hardest version to treat geno-type 1. I did interferon treatment 7 days a week with riboshpere. Initial plan was a full year of interferon and with the chance of 65% Hep C of returning.

During the treatment. I was severely fatigued, broke out with sores, had a rash that burnt my skin leaving scars on my legs and feet, severely confused, developed hepatic encelopathy had my drivers license cancelled because during the hepatic encelopathy I did not know where I was, who I was or what I was doing. I was driving my car when I had a (HE) flair up and so DMV and the Dr.'s advised no more driving.

Lloyd,

Hi...not sure where to begin. I am a 53 year old woman, I've had HepC for more than 30 years. It's been a while since I was on treatment, started treatment in late Jan. 2009 and ended on 7/7/09.

I've had many problems. My thyroid was damaged due to treatment along with my mental health. In December of 2009 I had a heart attack and they (doctors&hospitals) could not tell me why nothing was wrong with my arteries or vains, and just last July (2010) had to have a pacemaker installed ended up with a heart disease called bradyarrhythmias. I feel like my overall health declines each day even after the pacemaker.

It is my believe that all the problems I've had and are having .... tumors on my kidneys as well as my pancreas are a direct result from INTERFERON. I have no insurance at this time so I am unable to see any doctors, not that I really want to...they all scare me now. Just a little bit more about me, I've been clean and sober since December 29, 1989 and I do not smoke, don't even eat red meat. Any advise on what I should do?

In September 2008 I started Peg Interferon. I stopped after 6 months. Here is my story:

Executive Summary
The Hepatitis C Trust held a web-based survey from April 2006 to September 2007 that asked about people’s experience of anti-viral hepatitis C treatment and in particular how they felt up to 3 years after finishing the treatment. 500 respondents completed the questionnaire.

Key findings:

* 90% of people reported ongoing symptoms/side effects for longer than 12 months after treatment ended.

* The five most frequently reported post treatment symptoms/side effects were fatigue, joint aches/pains, brain fog, depression and mood swings.

* Regardless of SVR (sustained virological response), 40% of people felt worse after treatment than before and 31% felt better.

For those who had attained SVR
37% felt better and 36% felt worse
