His pieces are inspired by everyday items, but they come together in startlingly unique ways. The above pictured Tofu Stackable Sideboard reminds one of stackable tofu boxes in Japan. Each shelf comes with functional elements so that it can be positioned alongside the other boxes in a variety of configurations to suit its surroundings. The below pictured Chop Stick wardrobe is inspired by the Japanese chopstick and the ancient art of wood carving. It features five wood poles that loosely fit together, stabilizing as more clothes are added.

Chrystalline Architect was trying to optimize the function of every part of this apartment, such as the space function, partition material and furniture, to accomodate all the owner activities. The extreme change-over is they replace the bathroom partition from standard brick wall into frameles glass to make it see-through, with roller blind to provide guest privacy. They use a frameles mirror as wall treatment on the side wall at the dining area to double sizing the visual space which also we put a hanging dining table with steel structure that is hidden in the back of the mirror panel. The dining area is designed as the favorite room for the owner to entertain their guests that extended with small sitting room. This area is connected to the bedroom through a hidden sliding door. The use of the door is to make the space more efficient. Along the “bridge” from dining area to the bedroom, they place the wardrobe with mirror panel sliding door in order to omit the narrow space in corridor. via

This apartment for a filmmaker reinterprets the use of poché to support Baroque theatricality and proposes a cinematic architecture of sequences and points of view. The use of “virtual poché” in the Baroque to hide service spaces and to create mystery and surprise is updated through a cinematic emphasis on thinness and surface instead of solidity and mass. The apartment occupies the top floor of an 11-story Art Deco-era hotel that has recently been converted to apartment living with mix-use commercial tenant spaces on the ground floor. via

Michaelis Boyd Associates’s interior architecture pays respect to the building’s industrial roots, with concrete walls and exposed beams, pipes and pillars. The main entrance is through the original Tea Building staircase lobby with all original tiles and concrete left exposed. A white tile reception desk greets guests as they enter the main space through the original warehouse doors. The restaurant is open plan and comprises various areas: a waiting high table with bar and retail deli area, a central seated bar with drinks, cheese and meat display, a private dining area and a pizza bar with view over the kitchen and pizza ovens. About a quarter of the ground floor plan is occupied by an open kitchen with pizza ovens. The mixed timber and zinc tables with old school chairs are loosely placed around the main feature central bar. Two long reclaimed factory tables with swivel stools sit between the main bar and pizza bar & private dining room. via

The work is around the connection between glass as a hard and compact material and the cork, perfect porous material. The glass parts were done using free glass blowing. The cork parts were made out of the sheets of agglomerated cork which were milled using CNC. The corks parts used the marks from the CNC milling tool as a part of theirs construction The idea is to build 3D objects by milling using 2D drawings. The objects function are simple. The idea was to put more attention on the connection between glass and the cork. via
