They have garnered attention around the world, performing in North America multiple times as well as tours throughout Europe. &nbsp;&nbsp;KNIGHT AREA&nbsp;are streaming their new track "Summerland" at ProgArchives.&nbsp;http://www.progarchives.com/mp3.asp?id=5490&nbsp;.&nbsp;Guitarist Mark Vermule commented on "Summerland":&nbsp;"Summerland is the first track of the new album we recorded. We were full of energy and ready to record, and you can hear it. We played it live on several occasions and received good feedback on this song. The drums, bass guitar and guitar create this wall, and Mark really uses that energy in his vocals. Still, it's&nbsp;KNIGHT AREA&nbsp;with some good melodies; some parts where we take a step back, and at the end kick in with this climax guitar solo. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do."&nbsp;KNIGHT AREA&nbsp;was founded in 2004 after Gerben Klazinga released the first&nbsp;KNIGHT AREA&nbsp;album: "The Sun Also Rises". This album was a project of Gerben, who wrote all the music, and many musicians participated in the recording of the album. The album was a worldwide success and a band was formed to play live. A new album was released in 2007 "Under a New Sign" after the band successfully played the European and American stages.&nbsp; Not content to simply stick to a musical formula,&nbsp;KNIGHT AREA&nbsp;will surprise their fan base with Nine Paths. While remaining firmly faithful to the symphonic rock tradition, the band has gone one step further and added a harder edge to their sound. This transformation comes courtesy of noted producer NEIL KERNON (CANNIBAL CORPSE, QUEENSRYCHE, NILE) who's mix has provided a more contemporary approach to progressive rock.&nbsp; The track "Please Come Home" features a guest vocal appearance by CHARLOTTE WESSELS (DELAIN). The music of "Nine Paths" is perfectly complemented by the fantasy art of DENNIS SIBEIJN at Damn Engine.&nbsp;Track Listing:1)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Ever Since You Killed Me2)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Summerland3)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Please Come Home4)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Clueless5)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The River6)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Pride and Joy7)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The Balance8)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Wakerun9)&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Angel's Call&nbsp;Lineup:Gerben Klazinga - KeyboardsMark Smit - VocalsPieter van Hoorn - DrumsGijs Koopman - Bass and Taurus pedalsMark Vermeule - Guitars&nbsp; For more info visit:http://www.knightarea.com&nbsp;http://www.facebook.com/pages/Knight-Area/103147926392288?sk=info&nbsp;http://www.lasersedgegroup.com </t><t>&nbsp;Jon FreemanFreeman Promotions328 Long Branch Ave.Long Branch, NJ 07740&nbsp;T:&nbsp;+1 732 360 7640M:&nbsp;+1 336 509 8377AIM: uscanjonFreeman@freemanpromotions.com www.freemanpromotions.com &nbsp;</t></t><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/InternalNewsProgarchives/~4/1Zj3zDneCsU" height="1" width="1"/>

Winner of the Queensr˙che/LoudTrax.com/PA contest

PA Internal News posted by M@X &mdash; Hi all, Earlier we created a Queensr˙che/LoudTrax.com/Progarchives.com giveaway (to win an autographed Queensryche lithograph) and allow PA members to ask questions to Geoff Tate of Queensryche. > Original post: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=78931 Here's the Geoff Tate's answers to member's questions (giveaway winner name below) Roxie &nbsp;Q) We like to play "Queensryche desert island" if you were marooned on a desert island, what 3 QR albums would you MUST have with you? It's not easy! For you guys, what 3 albums (by anyone) would be a MUST to have with you if you were marooned on an island? Tate) Living on a desert Island would be my idea of paradise so I would choose music that was more up beat and positive so my Queensryche choices would be the new disc Dedicated to Chaos, Q2K and Hear in the Now Frontier. As far as other music, I would choose Eyes on the Horizon by Joe Euro, Sacred Chants of Devi by Ananda and Craig Pruess and Portals of Grace by Azam Ali. &nbsp;Rune2000 &amp; Harry HoodQ)I would like to know if you have any plans of continuing the Operation: Mindcrime storyline in the future?Tate) No plans as of yet.&nbsp;Negoba &nbsp; &amp; Alitare &nbsp;Q) Do you consider doing another exploratory / experimental record like Promised Land?Tate) I consider every record by Queensryche to be exploratory/ experimental.&nbsp;Negoba&nbsp;Q)I recall interviews when Mindcrime was released, where the guitars were put in boxes to get an "icy" kind of effect? Do you still experiment to try to get tones that have never quite been heard before?Tate) Absolutely. The new disc, Dedicated to Chaos is filled with guitar sounds that are unique and diverse. &nbsp; Most all of the music is guitar based arrangements. Fernandi &nbsp;Q) It's been a long time since the last time Queensryche made a long song (nearly 10 minutes). Any chance of us to see you make a long song again in the future?Tate) Oh sure. Definitely.&nbsp;guitarherosucks &nbsp;Q) With the shift to the Roadrunner record label (great move by the way), will you consider implementing a heavier, more guitar-oriented approach to new material, with more focus on aggressive, punchy riffs, energy and intensity? Thanks Queensryche for showing your appreciation for the fans by making the effort to hear our voices and opinions.Tate) After making 12 studio albums of guitar based music, I would say yes. But that decision would have nothing to do with Roadrunner Records.&nbsp;Polo&nbsp;Q) Is the album cover a homage to Magma?A) I'm unfamiliar with Magma. So now it is not. and the winner of the signed lithograph is senor_velasco (full name Bruce Carlson). He's already been contacted about this. Thanks to all for your participation. Thanks to Antonio Marsillo @ Loudtrax.com for setting this up. Their six studio albums for Insideout Music are a strong testament to that claim, and anyone whose heart was won over by&nbsp;"Foxtrot"&nbsp;but was deeply disappointed by&nbsp;"We Can't Dance"should look at this remarkable band from England who have persisted in making the&nbsp;difficultmusical choices and keeping true to Prog Rock's original spirit while keeping it fresh and relevant to now.&nbsp;Progressive Rock Music hub ProgArchives.com is hosting an exclusive stream of a new track from the from "COMM".&nbsp;&nbsp;Get a first listen to the track "The Mind's Eye" at&nbsp;http://www.progarchives.com/mp3.asp?id=5436 &nbsp;&nbsp;"COMM" is an album with a theme about modern communications.
