Travel Insurance for the Olympics

With the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics just around the corner, there are going to be thousands of people traveling to China over the summer period to either participate, spectate or report on this great event. Who underwrites/ administers our plans?

A question that we always get at International Insurance is who underwrites your plans - and are they safe/ trustworthy/ good? To answer this question we thought we would provide you with a posting about the underwriter and administrators of our plans at International Insurance.

Finland International Student Insurance

As of the 1st September 2007, the Finnish Government has introduced new legislation that requires all international students to have a certain level of insurance coverage depending on how long they will be staying in Finland studying as an international student. The new regulations are:

- Students who stay in Finland less than two years - These students must have a health insurance whose policy covers treatment and medication costs up to 100,000 euros.

- Students who stay in Finland a minimum of two years - These students must have a health insurance whose policy covers treatment and medication costs up to 30,000 euros.

The new Patriot International Travel Health Plans have been updated and upgraded for 2007 with some terrific enhancements!

The main new addition to the plans is for non-US Citizens coming into the USA as they can now use the PPO network to obtain treatment and have less to pay out-of-pocket. To give you an idea of the new plan arrangement:

Outside of the USA/ Canada - 100% coinsurance
Inside the USA/ Canada "In Network" - 90% coverage up to $5,000 and 100% coinsurance after that
Inside the USA/ Canada "Out of Network" - 80% coverage up to $5,000 and 100% coinsurance after that
