* Get The Zombies To Laugh
Get the kids to lie still and quiet on the floor. They are to be “zombies”. Tap one child on the shoulder. That tap releases them from being a zombie. That child is now “It”. “It” has the task of making the other children laugh by pulling funny faces, doing a funny dance, simply acting silly or whatever they like. The “zombies” have to try to remain still and not laugh. When a “zombie” laughs the child joins “It” in trying to get the rest of the group to laugh. The winner is the child who lasts the longest without laughing.

* The Wiggly Worm
The kids are divided into teams of equal numbers. Between 8 and 10 is best. Each team forms a line, one standing behind another. To make the worm the child at the front of each line puts their left hand between their legs and the child behind catches it with their right hand. This is repeated down the line. When you shout “go” the teams must run around a designated marker and back. The team that gets back to the starting line first wins. Naturally they must retain their “worm” shape.

* Witch Hunt
Before the party starts cut out a number of paper witch hats. Templates for this are readily available. It’s best to allow between 3 and 5 per invited child. Two of the hats should be colored green, the remainder black. Hide the hats around the house and backyard. Only hide them in areas of the house and yard where you are happy for the kids to explore. Begin the game by telling the kids that there are witches’ hats hidden and it is their task to discover as many as they can within a limited number of minutes. I like to divide the children into teams. Whoever discovers a colored hat receives a special prize and the team with the most hats also wins a prize.
