I wasn’t planning on writing about this Empower Network scam or legit business or whatever it is since other scam busting folks have already done so but after finding out that a site I wrote a couple of articles for is now promoting the program, I figured I’d throw up a quick post since the amount of fake reviews is way more than the amount of negative reviews and hopefully, someone will read this first before they read yet another affiliate site pretending to give a negative review only to say “join my downline”.

I really don’t want to spend more time than I have to but when most people are making money from recruiting other people into the program rather than selling actual products or making money doing something other than recruiting, then that’s red flag for me.

Making money online may be simple but it isn’t easy. It’s takes a certain level of commitment, it takes desire and discipline. Even if you learn exactly what to do, unless you put in tons of work, it’s just not going to happen. Of course, putting in the work but doing the wrong things won’t help either.

When will people get this through their heads? Seriously, I sometimes feel that people who get scammed out of their money freakin’ deserve it. To them, if it sounds too good to be true, well then, it’s MUST BE TRUE. Time to pull out the credit card and make a crap load of money doing nothing. Wake up people!

If success was really that easy.. oh never mind. If you’re the get-rich-quick type of person, you’re going to get scammed no matter what I say so screw it.

There are plenty of fake positive reviews already so below are two links to some negative reviews. I know my “review”, which wasn’t a review at all, sucks but I’d rather spend my time making real money. I’m done.

http://www.scam.com/showthread.php?t=146351

http://lissowerbutts.com/empower-network-scam-or-legit/

And now for a Target commercial…

Many internet marketers see link building as just writing articles and submitting their website to directories as well as comment spamming. People like to talk and read about link building because it seems to work. However, building links isn’t just about gathering links from different sites. It’s all about marketing. In other words, everything you do that eventually results in getting more exposure to your site is just marketing and in business, marketing is everything.

Whether you comment spam (please don’t this, it’s annoying), do guest posts on popular sites in your niche, take some guy out to lunch who works for a major online news website who eventually mentions your site in one of his articles, creating a Facebook fan page, making a Youtube video and having the link appear in the actual video, writing high quality content in hopes that it’s good enough that people will link to it, it’s all link building, it’s all marketing, it’s all about getting more exposure.

With marketing, it’s all about return on investment. Your strategy of getting more exposure could involve a slew of things but some tactics will make more sense in terms of the incoming profits compared to the outgoing expenses. You could spend a lot of time and energy making deals with small companies under 10 employees or you could spend time closing a deal with a major corporation. You can spend time getting thousands of links from small, unknown websites or you can spend time building a relationship with a major, high traffic website and get mentioned by them.

The bottom line is that if you’re doing anything that involves eventually getting more people to mention your site somewhere, then it’s a form of marketing, it’s a form of link building. They all have the same purpose: to make more money online.

No more polluting the net with crap. Although thin sites can still do well if created and linked correctly, it looks like that model will slowly be fading away. The general direction of future sites now are sites that have high quality, useful content and serves the users as well as having the right links from the right places. Many people in the IM world have probably quit this business all together due to the recent Panda updates.

I’ll be the first to admit that I’ve known this was the way to go all along and I know the people who’s been creating sites for some time now knew this as well. So why did we create all of those pointless sites with less than stellar content? Because it was easier. Who would want to spend more time than necessary creating a site just to make money? Throw up a site, spend the rest of your time building links, make money.

We got accustomed to cranking out articles in less than 15 minutes. We got used to the quick and easy money that was produced from content that we would be ashamed to put our names on. Thinking about spending a few hours on one article makes me almost nauseous but if we’re going to stay and thrive in this business, it’s time to treat it like a real business.

The reality is that Google’s search engine is becoming smarter. Sure, you could continue putting out crap content and hope you don’t get caught and slapped but if you want the best bang for your time, then quality content along with quality, relevant links should be the focus.

Does this mean you won’t get smacked around anyway? Of course not, but at least you’ll know deep down that when your site is ranked in the top 3 for your term, you deserve to be there. When I see a competitor’s site that just sucks big time in terms of quality, I think, “No way will this guy keep his ranking. It’s just a matter of time before Google slaps him.” Yet, I’ve failed to apply the same reasoning when one of my crappy sites rank #1.

Here’s the point. If you want to build a long term business online, work on delivering value. That’s how real businesses thrive. Money goes to the people who can provide the most value to the most amount of people in the marketplace. Period. Even if you do temporarily succeed in making money without providing any real value, sooner or later you’re going to get caught like the people featured on The Salty Droid who will forever be known as greedy, heartless, lying scumbags.

If this means you’ll have to cut down to just 1 or 2 sites, so be it. Be the site in your niche that if you were a real customer looking for something in the niche, your site would be the site that you’d personally want to land on because it’s just that good. Yes, it’ll be harder and will take more work but did we already forget that true, long lasting success doesn’t come easily?

As long as you create content where you could look at it and truly say, “Damn, I’m good. If Google doesn’t rank this #1, they’re idiots!”, then you’re probably on the right track.

This post was really written just as a reminder to me to deliver value. From now on, no more junk, except on this site where I obviously just ramble about pointless things.

To Your Success,

If you’re looking for a short SEO Cobra review, here it is. I’ll just jump right into it with some pros and cons.

Pros:

+ Decent network of sites.
+ 500+ sites currently with more being added.
+ Decent quality content is required.
+ Limited membership.
+ Niche specific sites allowing for relevant links.
+ You could link to as many different sites as you want without pre-approval of your domains.

Neutral

+/- <del datetime="2011-12-14T23:37:03+00:00">200 words for 2 links</del> 300 words for 2 links or 200 words with a video/image and 2 links. Time it takes to publish an article just went up.

+/- Article approvals used to be quite fast but as more members join, it’s getting slower.

Cons:

- <del datetime="2012-02-12T13:08:02+00:00">$75</del> $100 a month can hurt your pocket if you don’t actually use it.
- Not all sites are worth getting a link from. Some seem to be brand new. Some aren’t indexed.
- If you want in now, you can’t because it’s currently closed.
- Niche specific sites means you need to write about various topics for your articles to be accepted if there aren’t a lot of sites in your niche. This could be annoying when trying to pretend to write about a topic you don’t know about and trying to fit your keyword in.

So far, according to my testing, it’s giving me decent results. If the owner follows through on what he said he will do, then SEO Cobra should be pretty strong down the line.

Update: After 3 months of testing using Cobra exclusively, I give it a 6/10. The increase in rankings were okay overall but nothing spectacular. They recently re-opened their doors to allow more people to sign up but at $100/month. It’s closed again and I don’t know when the doors will re-open but there’s a good chance it’ll be even more expensive when it does. Unless you have money to do so and have exhausted other, less expensive networks, you may want to reconsider joining especially at this higher price.

I still think it has a potential to be a great network down the line but for right now, SEO Cobra is overpriced in its current state in my opinion.

If you haven’t already, join Build My Rank (highly recommended). It’s cheaper, easier, and more effective. Period.

Can you really make money online? The short answer is, of course! However, it’s hard. You really need to have a certain type of mentality to earn a living online year after year. You think the possibility of getting laid off is stressful? At least with a job, you get an advanced noticed before they let you go. With an internet business, you could be on top of the world one day and thinking about applying for welfare the next day.

There are obviously ways to decrease the risk of losing everything overnight but with business, you just never know.

The affiliate program you’re making bank off of could decide to close tomorrow.

You could be earning money from a huge company like Amazon and see that all go away because some douche bag law makers decided to do something stupid and force Amazon to terminate you along with all of the other associates in your state.

You can have a membership site based around a business model that can quickly become obsolete.

You can have a mailing list with thousands of subscribers, make one wrong move of promoting a crappy product and have tons of people ruin your name by calling you a scammer and end up on Salty Droid.

Your Google rankings you’ve worked so hard to obtain could drop like a rock, overnight, yup, just like that. You could be earnings hundreds a day and see it shrink to a few bucks a day in a very short time.

Yes, you can make money online, but this business isn’t for the weak hearted. This business can seem very unfair at times. You could work hard creating what you personally feel is the best site in your niche only to see scraper sites and copy cats pass you up in the rankings. Hell, I’ve seen pages with a single sentence and some picture rank above pages with actual, informative information.

Is it fair? C’mon, who said life is fair? But it’s just something you’re going to have to learn to deal with in this business. This is one of the main reasons why so many people get into this game and are out within a year or two. The ones who never make much money are actually the lucky ones. They don’t know what they’re missing out on to begin with. If you built up an income of a few thousand dollars a month and lose it all and quit, you’ll always know in the back of your mind just what’s possible. That feeling of succeeding and then having it all taken away from you, it’s definitely a unique experience.

I talk a lot about creating residual income on this blog but the truth is that I have no idea where this type of business will be 10, 20, 50 years from now. Will people even be using search engines 10 years from now? Who knows? All I can do now is to focus on making as much as I can, save that money, invest in other businesses, and hope for the best because what’s the alternative? Get a job? *shivers*

By the way, if you think you’ve got what it takes to be successful in this business, then do what I did and learn what to do HERE then work your butt off until you reach your financial goals.

I get emails from internet marketing companies almost on a daily basis telling me how they can help to improve my rankings. They tell me how I’m not ranking for certain keywords and call me out on my lack of links. They tell me I don’t have social presence then go and use big, useless online marketing jargon to try to make me think I don’t know what I’m doing.

Here’s my question to all you internet marketing companies out there:

If you’re so damn good at increasing rankings and driving traffic, why the hell don’t you just use that knowledge and make money with your own sites?

Is it because you’re really incompetent and don’t know what you’re doing and your real aim is just to rip website owners out of their hard earned money? I’ve checked out some of these SEO services and I can say with confidence that at least 90% of the crap that many of them spew out of their asses about what they will do for you is meant to either make you feel like a total newbie or to make it seem like they are going to do some really important stuff.

Things like premium site and traffic analysis, super secret onsite SEO diagnostic analysis and optimization, enhancements to title, meta tags, and alternative text, social media recognition, critical search engine submissions, reputation management, and continually coming up with other nonsensical terms and phrases to make you think they’re experts.

Don’t get me wrong, some of these companies really do know what they’re doing and work for big fortune 500 companies. The ones I’m talking about are the ones who contact owners of small websites and charge them hundreds or thousands a month for their expert services. What a bunch of scamming rip offs.

Why am I writing this article? To let you know that unless you run a huge company and don’t have time to do these things yourself, don’t use these internet marketing services. You can learn how to do this stuff yourself. I did and that’s why I can look at their service list and tell they’re BS.

To your success,

Making money online isn’t the easiest thing to do but hell, it doesn’t stop thousands of people from trying. Most people fail at making anything decent. If you’ve been trying to make make online but aren’t, then here are 5 possible reasons why that may be.

1. You don’t know what you’re doing.

With all of the information on how to make money online, you’d think figuring out what to do would be a piece of cake. It would be if there weren’t so many damn scams and useless information out there. So many people are just out there to make a buck knowing damn well they’re taking people’s money without giving something of equal value or more in return.

Just look at all of those make money ebooks on Ebay. If those ebooks were of any value, why would the people selling them sell them for so cheap? Ah, because their method of making money is in selling ebooks on making money. It’s like network marketing where you obtain your dream by getting other people to buy into a system to obtain their dream but without the recruiting.

So what do you do to make some cash online? The answer is to provide tremendous value whether it’s a product, service, or just plain information. If you’re an expert at something, there are likely to be others who want to know what you know and would gladly pay for that information. If you’re not an expert at anything, then you can find products/services that you find tremendously valuable and see if you can get paid to promote them through affiliate programs.

Once you figure out what sort of value you can provide, your focus needs to be on getting exposure. If you build a site that is just out of this world awesome, word will get around and you’ll get plenty of exposure. However, for most of us, we’ll have to rely on various sources to get exposure such as search engines, social media, word of mouth, referrals, leveraged traffic from 3rd party sites, and so on.

Keep in mind that getting exposure and building traffic takes a lot of work. Programs or courses that try to sell automated crap where you basically don’t have to lift a finger to make money should be avoided unless you happen to be allergic to money and just need to get rid of it.

Different businesses will require different strategies. If you want to make money from your own websites, you can learn what to do here.

2. You’re a lazy bum.

Who said making money online is easy? Sure, there are ways to make a few bucks here and there without much effort but most of us want something that can be sustained. Success is hard. Making enough money to not worry about money is hard. It takes work, and lots of it. Unless you have the money to pay other people to do your work, you’re just going to have to accept the fact if you’re lazy, you’re not going to get very far unless you’re lucky.

Can you believe there are people who have figured out what to do to earn money online, step by step, and still don’t do it? I’m not talking about merely putting in a week’s or even a month’s worth of work. Anyone chump can do that. I’m talking about sustained work, over a long period of time. If you want sustained income, you’re going to have to work over a long period of time to get it. If you’re not willing to put in the work, then you don’t deserve to make a dime online.

3. You’re way too emotional.

Now there are some folks who figure out what to do, put in the hard work, but get discouraged over and over again. Building a business online is not like having a job. The income can fluctuate. One day you can be making the most you’ve ever made and the next day you can make less than half that amount. Yes, running your own business is risky but that’s why the rewards are so high. People who go into the right business can freakin’ retire in 5-10 years. How many people do you know who have jobs that can say they can retire within 10 years of starting the job?

Learn to deal with the ups and downs. If looking at your earnings or traffic every hour can make you discouraged and even depressed, then here’s thought: Don’t check your earnings/traffic every hour! I know that is almost childish to say but if you can’t handle seeing those low earning days, then don’t check your them so often. The longer you wait to check your earnings or traffic, the better your chances of seeing an acceptable average.

4. You don’t believe it’s possible for you.

Seeing other people making money on the internet is great but for many people, that’s not enough. Perhaps they think the people who succeed online are lucky or super talented or have tons of connections. Maybe they tried it once or twice but failed likely due to not really knowing what to do. Whatever the reason, because they don’t truly believe that it’s possible for them, they don’t give this business the effort it needs to even stand a chance.

When I first started out trying to make money online, I told a few people what I was doing and what the possibilities of having an online business are. Their reaction? Some said, “That’s cool, tell me how it turns out.” Others would continually bring up whether or not I’ve found a real job even though I told them this is what I’ve chosen to make my living from.

In their minds, because I wasn’t making much money at the time, they didn’t believe making a decent income online was possible for them. You may say thinking like that is reasonable and I agree. At the same time though, when I started, I didn’t know anyone personally who made a living online. All I had was success stories to go on but it was enough for me to at least see if it was possible and once I made that first dollar online, that was all of the proof I needed to know success online was possible for me.

Several of those friends are now wanting to get into the business after seeing me being able to financially support myself without a “real job” for nearly 2 years. Seeing my results gave them more confidence in the possibilities of this business.

5. You’re too impatient.

Making money online can take time. You can put in weeks and even months of work just to make a couple of bucks a day. Most people either have the get rich quick mentality or the job mentality.

<img src="http://internetbusinesstactics.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/make-money.jpg" alt="make money" / align="right" height="150" width="150">

The get rich quick mentality is thanks to all of those rip-off programs and courses that claim anyone using their crap can a ton of money in only a few weeks without much work. We want instant results. We want to step on the treadmill, walk for 10 seconds, and see if we lost any weight. Working hard for 10 years is for chumps. Buying the lottery is a great investment because for only a dollar, you can win millions without having to work.

With this mentality, putting in the work day in, day out without seeing much results in the beginning is going to drive you insane. You need to think more long term. Even if it takes you 10 years to make enough money online where you never have to work, wouldn’t it be worth it? Most people quit trying within the first year and that’s why the failure rate for online businesses are so high. Most people don’t even give their seeds enough time to get above ground.

The job mentality is basically, “I put in X amount of hours, I expect to get paid X amount of dollars.” In business, it just doesn’t work that way. Sometimes you will put in a ton of hours and not see very much money from it. The work you do today may not make you any more money until 3 months down the line but when it does, it can keep making you money month after month if you build the right business.

I made less than $10 nearly 8 months into trying to build my online business. Most people would say I would be nuts to continue at the time. Most people would advise me to just give up. Fortunately, I understood that this business can take time and because of that, I now enjoy a type of income that most people can only dream of having. Being patient is critical.

To Your Success,

What is Ariix? Ariix is a nutritional company that operates under the network marketing model. It was just started by several former executives of another nutritional company name Usana (Fred Cooper, Jeffery Yates, Mark Wilson, and Riley Timmer). These guys were the ex C.O.O, C.F.O, VP of Sales and Finance for Usana so for them to leave and start their own rival company is sort of a big deal, at least for Usana. So, the Ariix scam, is it actually one? Let’s look at this logically.

These guys were bringing in tons of money from Usana from their salary and stock options. Why would they go and throw that all away to start a scam? It doesn’t make any sense. Since there are actual products involved, Ariix isn’t a scam but it is a multi-level marketing company. Yes, they claim to have great products and a unique compensation plan like all other MLM’s but the downsides of network marketing as a business is still there. Recruiting is involved. Having to sell high priced products is involved (some vitamin packs are $100 and up). Having friends and acquaintances potentially think you’re part of some cult or scam is still involved. It’s just the nature of this industry.

Looking at the stats, very few MLM companies survive past the 5th year. What chance does Ariix have to survive? Well, seeing that it’s being run by folks who ran Usana, a company that has been around since 1992, the chances are probably good. Not only that, many distributors from Usana are switching over to Ariix. But wait, isn’t MLM all about the product as so many of them claim? Makes one wonder.

Of course, these things don’t mean that you should join Ariix. Before you jump in, consider if network marketing as a profession is a right fit for you. It’s not for most people and that’s why so many people fail in this industry. When it comes down to it, it’s about sales, marketing, and networking. Unless you truly believe in the products and the management team behind the company, you’re going to have a hard time succeeding or even looking at anyone in the eye while pitching them a dream.

Because this company is still on the ground floor, it’s likely that many of their reps will use the whole “get in early while you still can” tactic. Take your time and do your due diligence no matter what kind of time limit you’re told. Make sure your decision of whether to join or not is your own and is based on logic and not emotion.

The success of Ariix is yet to be seen since it’s still new but if the people running this company are taking out what didn’t work at the previous company and are applying what worked best to this new company, then they’ll probably be around for a while. Since it’s still so new, you probably won’t be finding any Ariix reviews up for a while so we’ll just have to wait and see how this all plays out.

Let me know your thoughts and experience with this company.

This is my Build My Rank review. Two words… GET IT. (free trial)

Okay, more details. The cost is $59 a month. Whether or not this sounds like a lot to you depends on how much money you’re making online. To make money online with websites, you need to get traffic. One way is to rank highly for key terms by writing articles that link back to your site. BMR gives you access to those sites to submit articles to. Most of their sites have a PR 2 or higher. I’ve been using this service and the results are simply amazing.

If you can’t afford $59 a month, then try it out for just 1 month. Write as many articles as you can and then cancel. From there, track your rankings. Once you find out how much your rankings improve, you can decide whether or not to rejoin.

That’s all for my Build My Rank review. So if you want higher rankings, get BMR and write like crazy. (This post is about the length of articles you’ll be writing. Nice and short.)

If you were affected by the affiliate Nexus tax aka Amazon tax or Amazon affiliate tax, then you know how devastating it can be. Amazon and tons of other companies have again and again pulled out of any states that passed this bill which requires them to charge sales tax because they believe it’s unconstitutional due to a law that was passed in 1992 that prevents interstate taxes. Several states have already passed this bill (Arkansas, Connecticut, Illinois, New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island, and California being the latest) and so far, it hasn’t created the revenue these states thought it would create.

The Amazon Affiliate Tax Solution

Regardless, the ones who are most affected are the thousands of affiliates and small business owners. If you’re part of this group of people, then one solution is to sign up for this free program. They’re a company based in CA that basically allows you to get around this Nexus bill since they’ve somehow been able to work out a deal with Amazon. They do take a percentage of your affiliate earnings though, but unless you are willing to move to another state, it’s a simple solution that can be implemented right away. That way, you can at least retain some of your earnings.

If you’re a company that makes a ton of money, you can work out a deal with them to lower that percentage. They work with thousands of affiliates, not just Amazon, so if you were dropped by any affiliates, then chances are, this company can help you stop some of the income that is being lost because of this bill.

Get Back 75% – 105% of Your Amazon Earnings

Yes, 105%. The percentage that this company takes is 25%. HOWEVER, because they have large accounts with Amazon, your percentage will likely start at 8.50% each month instead of 4%. If you’re an Amazon affiliate, then you know that the more items you sell, the higher your percentage of the sales is.

Most affiliates never make it to 7%. Do the math and you’ll discover that if you typically make 6%, you will actually make MORE by signing up with this program even though they take 25% since you’ll be at 8.50%. Even if you’re typically at 7%, you’ll only be losing out on 10% earnings which if you’re affected by this bill, it’s a lot better than losing 100%. Although, if the most you get is 7 or even 7.5%, then that means it takes you at least half a month to even get to that point. Considering that you’ll be starting at 8.5% right off the bat with this program, the percentage loss is even less.

Of course, on set % items like electronics, you’ll still be at 4% and these calculations only pertains to Amazon.

Nexus Hurts Everyone

Small online businesses have been greatly affected by this Nexus bill. The states think they will make money by passing the law but not only do they NOT make money, they end up LOSING money. No sales tax gained PLUS less income tax due to affiliate programs like Amazon, Overstock, Zappos and a ton of others ending their contracts with affiliates makes this a ridiculous bill which forces people to either move out of the state or eliminate jobs.

It looks like more and more states will start passing this bill. Write to your governor and demand that this bill not be passed if it ever comes up. If it has already been passed in your state and you can’t just move, then sign up with this program for free until this bill is overturned.

This guy should’ve been governor. He has common sense.

Here’s a video that explains the downside of this bill and how it hurts small businesses.

Here’s one about Fatwallet and how they had to basically move out of Illinios because this bill was passed.

Since you’re searching for Swagbucks scam, you probably heard about how you can do simple things like search the web, play games, and fill out surveys and earn “Swag Bucks” that can be redeemed for things like coupons, gift certificates, and even cash all for free. Well, you’re right. So what’s the catch here?

The Catch

Well, it really is free to join and you get rewarded for doing things that you already do like searching the web and playing online games. So how does this work? Basically, you use their search toolbar or search engine to do what you normally do; search for information or buy things. The results you get are filled with sponsored links which Swagbucks makes money from and in return, they give you some of the earnings by way of SwagBucks which is their own online currency if you will. So they’re definitely making some good money by having you use their search engine instead of whatever you normally use.

Getting Points

Searching online isn’t the only way to make these bucks. You also earn by using coupons, doing trade-ins such as sending them old books and video games in exchange for Swagbucks, completing offers, watching videos, playing games, doing various tasks, doing a daily poll, and referring your friends to join the program. By the way, the “fun” ways like playing games to get points don’t give you that many points relative to the amount of time you have to put in but I guess if you’re going to play games or watch videos anyway, then it’ll work out for you.

Of course, you shouldn’t be surprised to know that you’ll be encountering a lot of ads. This is how they make money since it’s free to sign up.

Prizes

The prizes include things such as games, clothes, electronics, home appliances, etc. Of the prizes that you can redeem, the $5 Amazon gift card is probably the best value which costs 450 Swagbucks. This is pretty much the only thing I get since I always buy stuff on Amazon anyway. The cool part is that you can use multiple ones on a single Amazon order. Hell, you can save a bunch and do your Christmas shopping without spending any money.

Update: January 2012 – So it turns out you can only redeem a maximum of 5 of the same items per month. What bull crap! Since the $5 Amazon gift card is one of the best deals, the most you can get is $25 worth of those a month.

As you can see, Swagbucks should really only be seen as play money and nothing more. If you want to make real money, sign up with one of the best internet business programs around.

Update: As of December 2011, I’ve redeemed <del datetime="2011-12-15T09:07:43+00:00">and used $25</del> $70 worth of Amazon gift cards. Keep in mind that I don’t use any of their ways of getting points except for using their search toolbar and even then, I barely use it.

Every now and then, after doing searches using Google, I’ll click on their search toolbar that I have installed, hit enter (it copies whatever my latest search term in Google is), and see if I earn any swagbucks. On average, when I do get something, I get about 10 swagbucks. My highest so far on one search is 47 points. In other words, if you actually make an effort accumulating points, you’ll do far better than I did.

Conclusion

Okay, so is Swagbucks a scam? No, it’s not. Is it worth it? Well, if you think about it, you’ll have to spend a lot of time to accumulate these bucks so if you compare it to what you can make with a job, then of course not. You could probably make more begging for money out on the streets. If you don’t care about the prizes and don’t already search the net a lot, then it’s a big waste of time.

However, if you surf the net a lot, play games, watch videos, etc., then why not get awarded for it?

So click here to sign up for a FREE account today. You get 30 Swagbucks just for signing up. Once you sign up, install their toolbar (you’ll get even more points) or just set their search page as your homepage and just do what you normally do. That’s pretty much it.

You’re definitely not going to get rich or even make enough for bragging rights but since you’re not putting any extra time or work, unless you intentionally sit at your computer trying to accumulate points, it’s worth trying out.

Let me know your thoughts and experience with this program. I’ve heard of this program for quite some time but just never bothered to check it out until recently since I knew it wasn’t something that could make me serious money but a few people asked me about it so I figured I’d check it out in order to write a review. Plus, I don’t mind scoring a few dozen $5 Amazon gift cards.

So because Google is doing a great job, they are being investigated by the FTC due to their competitiveness practices. Competitors like Microsoft (Bing) and Yahoo have been trying to win the search engine game for years but Google is kicking their behinds, claiming over 65% of the market. Google is being accused of returning certain results such as shopping sites that they own or are affiliated with. Google’s reply to that: Competition is only a click away.

Other search engines aren’t the only ones whining. Companies like Yelp and TripAdvisor are as well saying that Google is putting services like their Places higher in the search results.

Do I wish Google didn’t have such a big piece of the pie? Well, yes. I’d rather not have such a large chunk of my business dependent on Google but then again, people use Google for a reason; it’s better than the alternatives and I guess partly out of habit. Remember that Yahoo used to be #1 before Google got into the search engine business. They obviously did things better in the consumers’ eyes to dominate Yahoo.

In any case, no one holds a gun to people’s heads and demands them to use Google. Anyone can just easily go to Yahoo or Bing or one of the other hundreds of search engines out there. Even if Google does favor their own affiliated sites, so what? It’s their house, they make the rules. Try going into Costco and demand that they don’t display their Kirkland brand as prominently. You’ll probably get escorted out by security. They can do what they want. If you don’t like it, don’t use their service.

Just because Google is wiping the floor with their competitors’ faces, it doesn’t mean their competitors should go crying to the FTC. When your competitors get better, you need to get better instead of trying to tear them down. How about working harder and smarter to actually dominate the market by offering users more value instead of complaining like a bunch of sore losing kids? Obviously, this all comes down to money. The better Google does, the less money their competition makes. Boohoo, they took our jobs.

You can read more about this antitrust issue from this Huffington Post article. This is one of the few articles I found on the topic that is written by someone with common sense.

Quote from the article:

“…an antitrust investigation of Google, prompted by complaints that have more to do with the needs of competitors than with the best interests of consumers, is out of touch with the commission’s purpose of protecting consumers.”

Well said Mr. Balto.

A new network marketing company is about to launch called Autoxten. Search for the term Autoxten scam and most of the sites you see are just people hyping about how this is going to be the industry’s biggest launch ever with over 30,000 people already signed up in less than a week. The funny thing is that I searched for Autoxten reviews and actually found sites saying it’s the best opportunity even though it hasn’t even launched yet! They talk like they’ve already made money.

Comp Plan

So what’s this all about? Well, the lure is that you can turn $10 into almost $200,000 through their “genius” compensation plan which uses the 4×4 matrix model with added in spillovers. Basically, you recruit 4 people and those 4 recruit 4 people and so on. The spillover comes in when your upline recruits people but have already filled their 4 positions up. The extra people simply spill down to you. So essentially, you can just do nothing and hope your upline recruits enough people to spill down and fill your front 4 people.

Where’s the Residual?

All you pay is just $10, or is it? There are upgrades involved where you will be spending more money which is taken out of your earnings or you can just qualify for every level by doing a one time payment of $150. There are products you will need to purchase which are basically just training material about marketing. This seems like the old “buy these books to help you get rich but really, the way to make money is to sell these books to other people and get them to sell it and so on”. I really don’t see where the value is at. At least with Amway, there are repeat consumable products to buy.

The whole point of MLM is to make residual income which is done through reps buying products each and every month but if you’re only spending $10 once and that’s it, then residual income is impossible unless an unlimited amount of aliens arrive to Earth with each one signing up for this fantastic opportunity.

The products, training material, doesn’t seem to be available to the general public. As of this writing, you have to actually join the company to get the products. In other words, the only people buying the products are distributors which can cause some legality issues according to the FTC.

Here’s a guy who works with companies in the MLM industry talking about what’s wrong with AutoXten…

The Verdict

So is Autoxten a scam? Well, you decide for yourself by asking some questions. How sustainable is this business? Can you really build a business where you only have to spend $10 and can make tens of thousands of dollars? Where is the value at? How many other MLM companies have had these launches in the past but are no longer around? Does it sound a bit too good to be true?

As of this writing, the company is still in pre-launch mode, meaning it’s still in hype the crap out of this business and get as many people pumped up as possible mode. Perhaps the people who join early on will make some money but what happens when the hype dies down and the sign ups decrease? Where will the money come from? Will there be actual customers who will want to buy the products just for the sake of buying the products and not to be part of the system to make money?

But over 30,000 people signed up already so it must be the next big thing right? Guess what? Signing up before the launch is actually free so no one has actually spent anything yet. Although since it’s only $10, I’m sure TONS of people will think, “Even if it’s a scam, it’s only $10 and if it’s not a scam, Imma be rich bitch!”

It’s this mentality that is going to make the guys running this business RICH. Come to think of it, I should start one of these myself and only charge $1 instead of $10. I’ll call it AutoxOne. Anyone want in? The “it’s only a dollar” mentality works well for the lottery so it’s gotta work.

Conclusion

This potential Autoxten scam might turn out to be a legit business. Who knows? If you want to sign up for the hell of it, you can do so by going to www.autoxten.com/scam. See if you can figure out what my fake name says when you go to that page. And no, I didn’t give them a penny of my hard earned money and never will.

In all seriousness, I wouldn’t waste my time with this. The sign up page is mostly about how much money you can make and not a lot of info on the actual products. The products are mainly about internet marketing which is probably about how to generate leads in order to recruit more people to do the same thing and so on… blah blah blah.

The internet marketing business is constantly changing. Your methods that have been working like a charm for the past several months can all of the sudden backfire on you. Over the past few months, there has been a lot of talk about the quality of websites and that if you want to survive in the long term, you better put up quality content or you’ll eventually get slapped by Google.

What is quality? If I’m looking for a pair of socks, do I want to come to a site with a bunch of pictures of socks to buy or do I want a site with detailed information on which socks are the best? For me, I just want to buy socks so in this case, the first site would be of better value to me and therefore, is of better quality.

Quality is largely a matter of opinion. I hate coming across sites that analyze the crap out of everything with their fancy calculations and numbers. I’m a more succinct kind of guy. I want things to be laid out and to the point and

Everything

In

Bullet

Points

Perhaps I ramble a lot with my posts but maybe it’s because I read longer posts do better. How can you have quality content with just 150 words right?

Another thing, if English isn’t your primary language, then I guess you’re screwed. If you have decent ideas but just happen to not be very good at writing and getting your ideas across, I guess you’re screwed as well.

Quality is personal. I’m sure some of you who read my posts will say it’s all crap while others of you might say it’s very useful. Who’s right? The answer is everyone is. Whether my content is quality or not depends on what you were looking for as well as what your previous knowledge on the subject matter is.

If I came across a blog about how to make money online and all it talks about is putting your keyword in the title and using it in the articles, then I would think it’s crap because I already know those basic things. For someone brand new, it could be revolutionary to them.

Perhaps quality comes down to intent. When you write content, is your intention to deliver truly useful information and helping people solve a problem or is it merely to just have content on your site with the right keywords so you can hopefully rank? Or perhaps it’s just bore your readers into just clicking one of your ads.

Then again, your intentions can be good but if Google thinks your site is crap because you don’t talk about the process of how socks are made or the different types of fibers used to create the world’s greatest socks even though most of your visitors just want to find the lowest price socks, what can you do?

If you are subscribed to any of those “A-list” internet marketers’ newsletters, then chances are, you’ve gotten emails from them about some super awesome, limited-time, magic product that is about to be released that can make you a bazillion dollars. Big names like Frank Kerns, Andy Jenkins, and Mike Filsaime have a legion of followers, mostly noobs who don’t know a thing about making money online.

Most of their products are just rehashes of existing products or their older programs. Think about this for a second, if the products they sell are so damn great, then why do they keep coming up with more and more make money products to sell to people? These products don’t come cheap either with many of them being over a thousand dollars.

And guess what? These guys work together as sort of a mastermind group with the purpose of helping each other, not you, make money.

Check out this video of a private conversation between two of these “gurus” discuss one of their product launches and you’ll see what I mean:

Here is another video of a them discussing the old scarcity tactic in order to get people to buy their products:

These videos can be taken down anytime due to the fact that the conversation is supposed to be private so if it’s not working, sorry.

If you want to know more about how these guys operate to maximize the sales of their “magic bullet” products, read this post from the Salty Droid, he’s the one they talk about in the first video. After reading that post, you’ll hopefully never buy into those over hyped internet marketing product launches. It’s a real eye opener.

If you want to know how to make money from home, then here are some ideas. Keep in mind that not all of these ideas will work for you. Some are more suitable for certain people with certain knowledge and skill sets. I’m going to outline 7 different ways to make money from home. Before you jump into any one of these, you will want to do some further research in order to know what it takes to succeed with each one. So let’s get to it.

1. Make Money with Your Own Info Product

Instead of selling physical products, which can be a headache, look into selling info products. These are basically informational ebooks. The main reason for going this route is that your cost of producing these ebooks are next to nothing. Since nothing is physical, you can send out thousands of copies at practically no cost. So what kind of info products should you create?

Well, if you happen to know how to do something that many people would like to know, you can create an ebook out of it. For example, if you were once overweight and figured out how to lose the fat, you can share your experiences with others. Many people are desperately looking for answers on how to get the body of their dreams. Maybe you were once in deep debt and found a way to get out of debt. If that’s the case, you can outline just how you did it and sell that information to other people. Or maybe you’re great at finding deals and happen to know all of the best sites to get the best deals on just about anything. If that’s the case, you can compile a list and sell that info.

What if you don’t have any expert knowledge or experience? Well, one thing you can do is to interview someone who is successful at doing something that you know other people would like to know how to do. From there, create an ebook out of it and sell it.

Here are some steps to take:

Research the Market

Make sure there is a demand. You might be an expert at making pants of G.I. Joe action figures but if no one else is interested in it, you won’t be able to sell that information.

Look at the Competition

Some markets are just a bit too competitive to be in. Take the weight loss niche for example. How many companies and products do you know deal with this? It doesn’t mean that you can’t be successful in highly competitive markets but it will take a lot more work and time.

Create the Actual Product

There are programs that you can download for free that will convert a normal Word document into a PDF file which you can then use to sell.

Create a Site

You will need a platform to sell your ebooks on so you will need a website with a good landing/sales page. If you’re not good with writing copy, you can always hiring someone else to do it for you. That or you can just experiment and learn what works better through trial and error.

Create More Products to Upsell

In order to increase your income, see if you can come up with more related ebooks on the subject. People who have already bought from you are more likely to buy more from you.

2. Make Money at Home Through Monthly Subscriptions

This will basically be a membership site where people will pay a monthly fee in order to have access to information that you put out. This can be weekly lessons on a certain topic, some kind of service that you provide, or releases of actual products. The great thing about subscription based sites is that you will be able to make ongoing monthly income. The downside is that you need to provide more than what your subscribers are expecting. That way, they will continue to stay with you.

A great example is The Keyword Academy. They provide product and service that internet marketers like me are willing to pay for each month. Why do I continue to be a member even after I know exactly what to do in order to succeed online? The reason is because they give me tools that save me a ton of time and at the same time, speed up my results. Not only that, the continually come out with better things and help keep me in the loop with the ever changing world of internet marketing.

The more you charge per month, the more value you are going to have to provide to your subscribers.

3. Making Money From Home Flipping Websites

This is similar to flipping real estate. The basic concept is to own a site and sell it for a profit. There are two ways to go about doing this.

Create and Sell

This is where you create a niche site from scratch meaning you put some content on it, make the site look nice, and drive a bit of traffic to it. From there, you can sell it to people who don’t have time to build a site from scratch and would rather pay for an existing site.

Buy, Polish, and Sell

This is where you buy an existing site that is underperforming, build it up, and then sell it for more than what you paid for it. Most website owners don’t really know what they are doing in terms of driving traffic and doing basic SEO work. So if you know how to do these things, you can look for sites for sale that have potential, buy them, apply SEO tactics to drive traffic in order to increase the site’s value, and then turn around and sell them for a higher price.

4. Making Money From Home with Ebay (Buying Stuff Offline and Selling them Online)

I’m sure you know that many people make money from Ebay. Anyone can sell things on Ebay but not many can actually make a living with this. The reason is because they run out of items to sell. So how do you go about making a decent income with the popular auction site?

Buy and Sell Collectibles and Antiques

Have you ever seen those antique shows where people bring in their junk to get it appraised by an expert? Many of them find out that their “junk” is worth a lot more than what they paid for. If you can become an expert in certain collectible and antique items, you will be able to spot a good deal when you see it.

One thing you can do is to start studying the completed listing prices on Ebay for certain products to get an idea of what the going price is. From there, you will have a good idea of the maximum amount of money you should pay for the item in order to make a profit when you sell it. The key to success with this type of Ebay business is to buy cheap. You can run ads in your local paper or even on Craigslist to let people know you’re buying these particular items. People are always looking to sell their “junk”.

You can also find many antique items and collectibles at yard sales or even auctions. Most people don’t really know how much these types of products are worth so if you do, you can pick up a great bargain. I actually knew a guy who sold antique toys on Ebay. He only did this part time but was able to bring in anywhere from $3k – $5k a month. What helped him to do well was this extensive knowledge on the going prices for particular items in his niche.

Once you have the products in hand, you don’t have to sell them Ebay only. You can also sell them on Craigslist or Backpage.com or even on your own niche website if you have enough inventory to make it worth it.

5. Make Money Online with an E-commerce Business

An ecommerce is basically a business where you sell physical products. You will either be buying and shipping these products out yourself or use drop shippers. So what’s the key to success with this type of business? Buying things cheap.

In most situations, you will have to buy in bulk in order to get a low cost per unit. You can buy products wholesale or use sites like liquidation.com to buy products that are being liquidated. You can also go to thecloseoutnews.com to find wholesale deals. Keep in mind that just because you can find great deals, it doesn’t mean that there is automatically a demand for it. Make sure you research the market as well as the competition.

A safer way to sell products is through dropshippers. This is basically a setup where you get the customers and the dropshipper will ship the products to your customer. The customer pays you directly and from there, you give the dropshipper their cut of the profit. By doing business this way, you won’t have to buy and stock tons of products. A couple of good sites for this is Worldwidebrands.com (good for connecting with wholesalers as well) and DOBA.com. You will need to have a business license in most cases to be able to get real wholesale prices. Be aware that there are many scammers out there who will sell you a list of wholesalers who aren’t really wholesalers at all but middlemen. The sites I mentioned are some of the most reputable places to connect with real wholesalers.

You will want to market your business through traditional means such as ads as well as using SEO tactics as well in order to get organic traffic. You can also use Adwords to advertise your site as well.

6. How to Make Money From Home with Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is probably one of the more popular ways to make money from home. The main reason is because you’re basically promoting other people’s products. You don’t have to spend any time creating your own stuff. Everything from refunds to customer service is handled by the owner of the products you’re promoting. You get a cut from everything you sell.

So how do you actually make money with this method? Here is what you will need.

Finding a Niche/Product

Here are some of the top sites to find products to promote: Clickbank.com, Shareasale.com, CJ.com, Linkshare.com and Amazon.com

There are certain numbers you will want to look at such as companies with an EPC of at least $20. From there, you will want to look at demand and competition using the guidelines taught at the Keyword Academy.

Create a Website

You will need to get hosting and a relevant domain name in order to have a place to send traffic to.

Capture Leads

Instead of sending your visitors straight to your merchant’s sales page, consider capturing their email address with an email responder such as Aweber and Mailchimp. You can do this by giving away free information. The reason for doing this is to build trust and increase the likelihood that they will end up buying. Once you build a large list, you can continue to sell to your list of subscribers since once they buy something based on your recommendation, they are likely to buy more products that you recommend.

Some Tips

- Choose products that have more than one merchant. This way, if the affiliate program you’re using shuts down for whatever reason, you will have a backup.
- If you use Amazon to sell actual products, go for keywords that involve a brand and model of a product. These generally have a much higher conversion rate and are typically easier to rank for in the search engines.
- Aim on ranking for long tail keywords first in order to build some authority before going for the harder keywords.
- If you’re going to promote an info product, choose something that you would actually use yourself. This just makes writing about and recommending the products easier.

7. How to Make Money From Home with Adsense

This method is one of the most popular ways to make money online. The main reason is because it’s so easy to setup. All you need to do is to create a website and stick a piece of code into your html in order to display the ads. Of course, putting up some ads on your site and actually making real money are two different things.

Here is what you will need to make some serious money with this method.

Keyword Research

You can’t just start a website or blog about anything you want. You will want it to be about a topic that actually has enough demand to create a business around. Along with finding the demand, you will also want to gauge the competition as well.

Create a Website

You need something to point traffic to. It’s way better to have your own website. Don’t use free sites like Blogger because it can be taken away from you for no reasons at any point. Learn how to do proper onsite SEO in order to have an advantage over 90% of your competitors.

Drive Traffic

Just like with most of the other methods of making money online from home, you need to have traffic. This can be done through article marketing, social marketing, advertising, etc.

So there you have it, 7 ways on how to make money on the internet from home. Obviously, some of the things I discussed aren’t in too much detail which means you will have to do some more research on your own but at least you have a general idea of what needs to be done.

Now since getting traffic is the cornerstone of many of these methods, it will be to your great advantage to join the Keyword Academy in order to learn some of the best tactics to get your site ranked highly in the search engines. With that knowledge, you will have a much greater chance of success in making money from home.

Conclusion

Knowing how to make money from home and actually putting what you know into action are two different things. Working from home is great because you can be your own boss but it also takes discipline to build a successful home business. Make sure your plan includes a daily to-do list which should really only include the top 2-3 things that are critical to your business’s success. If you can focus on the few important tasks each and every day, within a few years, you should be able to be in a position financially that most people can only dream about.

To Your Success,

I’m going to keep this short and simple. I make enough residual income online to do this business full time. I’m about 2 years away from hitting an income where I can walk away from this business and not really have to worry about how I’m going to pay my bills. Just to be clear, by residual income, I mean income that keeps going into my bank account each and every month without much effort on my part. Yes, this means I make money even when I’m sleeping, but I have to point out that it took a LOT of work to get to this point. True success in life never comes easily. You have to work your heart out to obtain and keep it.

I started this whole online business venture about 2 years ago. For the first 8 months or so, I didn’t make squat. Why? Simply because I didn’t really know what I was doing. I had bits and pieces of information on what to do and how to do it here and there but it was all scattered. I didn’t have a step by step plan of action to get from where I was to where I wanted to be with my internet business.

This all changed when I found The Keyword Academy. They gave me a blueprint, a step by step plan on what to do to make money online which includes finding profitable niches, creating a website, and most importantly, how to drive traffic to your sites. I followed it and that’s when my life started to change financially. Did I have doubts at first? Of course I did. Who wouldn’t? But at the time, I had a job that I hated so I had to do something. The first month is free now but back when I signed up, it cost $1 so I really didn’t have anything to lose except for time.

Since joining the training program, I’ve learned a lot about how making money online works, but most importantly, I put what I learned into action. That’s the only way you will succeed in this business or in any other business. Learning what needs to be done is necessary but it’s pointless if you don’t take action. I’m sure many people join The Keyword Academy and end up quitting because they were looking for some get rich quick scheme that involves no work and found that the program was anything but an easy way to instant riches. But hey, those types of people are the ones who will keep looking until they realize they will have to work for some job they hate for the rest of their lives.

Anyway, learning and APPLYING what I learned at The Keyword Academy is how I make residual income online. The first month is free and you get full access to everything. After that, it’s $33/month. The main reason for sticking around is to get ongoing support as well as being able to use their tools to accelerate your progress. You can cancel anytime. If you decide to just stick around for the first month, learn as much as you can and put what you learn into action. Success isn’t complicated. Figure out what to do and just do it until you get the results that you want.

If you have any questions about the program, feel free to leave it down in the comments section below. If you want a more in depth review of the program, read my Keyword Academy Review post.

I’ve written plenty of posts on network marketing and how I feel about it but it’s hard to really see what sort of impact these types of “opportunities” have on people. Losing money isn’t the biggest lost when someone fails in this industry; losing hope is. Here is an episode from Penn and Teller’s TV show called Bullshit where they basically look at different things from global warming to bottle water to multi-level marketing and the promise of easy money and debunk it basically.

I realize that the companies shown on this show isn’t how all MLM companies work. Not all companies throw product demonstrations. In fact, many of them just skip that part and go to what really makes the big bucks in this industry which is to recruit. Many companies these days teach you to find recruits online through tactics like Attraction Marketing where you build a list and funnel them through your various channels, offering certain affiliate products or info to gain trust. In the end, you’re still in the business of recruiting no matter how you approach it.

I especially feel sorry for the guy selling the miracle drink which from my research, it seems that the company he worked for is now down in the drain. I almost felt angry at the end when I found out how much work he had put in and how much he was/wasn’t making. That’s one determined guy but sadly, he chose the wrong business to be in.

Pay attention to the part where they talk about how it’s all about recruiting. I wish network marketers would just be straight up and say it like it is. People in this industry can give themselves any title they want but when it comes down to it, they are mere sales people and recruiters. And yes, products are sold mainly through recruits, not actual customers.

For any network marketers out there who might say things like, “If it’s possible to run out of people to recruit, then that would have already happened since network marketing has been around for decades”. My answer is that scenario only would have happened if most people were actually successful. The fact that there are still tons of people not in a network marketing company shows just how many people failed. It’s not the people, it’s the system.

MLMers love to bring up the fact that McDonald’s runs on a system and has a very high success rate and that network marketing is the same. Sorry, but that’s not true. A successful system would produce successful results. The reality is that less than 5% of all people in network marketing make any decent amount of money.

Another argument is that people at the top of the pyramid aren’t the only ones that make the money. Many of them will argue that corporations are in a shape of a pyramid as well and that the people at the top, the CEO’s and managers make all the money. Corporations are set up that way to divide up the different jobs that each worker is responsible for. With network marketing, it’s built that way to distribute money. Sure, you don’t have to be at the top of the overall pyramid to make money with MLM but you do have to be at the top of your own pyramid. In other words, MLM companies consist of hundreds of mini pyramids. The bigger the pyramid that you are on top of, the more money you make. This just basically means you need to recruit, recruit, and recruit.

They should just change the name of this industry to Network Recruiting because that’s what it really is. That’s the biggest thing I have against this industry. If they would just say it like it is and just be completely honest, I’d probably be in favor of them.

With the unemployment rate being so high, many are in desperate situations to get a job, any type of job. One option that lots of people look into is getting one of those work from home jobs. There are certainly legitimate work at home jobs that are available but before you apply for anything, you need to be aware of the many work at home scams that are out there.

Before I get into that, if you’re looking for legitimate work from home jobs with no startup fee, here’s what I recommend…

Let’s get started.

You would think that most people already know about email scams and that you should never bother responding to those advertisements. However, many people aren’t aware of scams that are coming from actual job sites such as Monsters.com, Yahoo Jobs, and Career Builder. Many people see these job sites as legit so any job offers from these sites must also be legit. This isn’t the case at all. Normally, the victims of these scams wouldn’t have fallen for these tricks but when money is short and the urgency to make some money is high, people tend to take chances that they wouldn’t have otherwise.

Here are some things to look out for when looking into any type of work form home jobs. Some of these things are obvious but scammers are constantly trying to find better ways to trick people out of their hard earned money.

1. Check their email address. Legit companies will always use their company email address. If you ever get some sort of work at home job offer by someone using a free email address such as Gmail, Yahoo, or Hotmail, then chances are, it’s a scam. Scammers will straight up tell people they are a hiring manager from some well-known company and even use the company’s logo in their email. Don’t fall for it. Remember to look at the address after the @ symbol of the email. BestBuy@gmail is a sign of a scam compared to hr@bestbuy.com. Of course, it’s possible that they could buy some random domain name to make their email look more legit. What you can do is check to see if their site is even indexed by searching for site:url in Google where url is their website.

For example, I just got an email from some scammer claiming that I can make thousands of dollars with little work. The email was from @iwillmakeitthere.com. I did a search for site:iwillmakeitthere.com and nothing came up meaning it’s not indexed which tells me that it’s safe to assume that the person or program who sent me the email just created this site recently or is a low life scumbag trying the scam people. Oh well, karma is a bitch folks. If you scam people, you’ll get screwed one way or another eventually.

2. Wire transfers are scams. Any company asking you to be some middle person who wires money into your bank account is a scam. This is the money mule scam. You can find a lot of these on places like Craigslist from babysitting jobs to transfer agent jobs. Just turn down any offer that involves you having to do anything with your bank account. Craigslist even has a note saying “Beware any deal involving Western Union, Moneygram, wire transfer, cashier check, money order…” and yet people still fall for these things.

3. Fake news sites are scams. You have probably seen these ads online by way of pop ups. There are literally thousands of these fake news sites that try to look legit. Names like New York Local News with “As seen on CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN” are all scams. They basically trick people into thinking that their work online opportunity is legit by using logos of well known news outlets as well as companies like Google.

This scam normally involves you having to buy some product and then them automatically charging you each and every month and making it difficult for you to cancel. If you read the bottom of these websites, you will find that stories “may be factitious” and testimonials are “remunerated” which just means they paid people to say what they said. Many of these sites are being cracked down but as soon as one goes down, another one pops up.

Many of them use your IP address to “customize” the heading to make it look like the news is from your local city. They all have similar layouts with some unlisted Youtube video about some fake story, fake comments praising the program, and every link on the page leading to the same URL. Many of them use this French news anchor’s picture probably for her attractiveness I guess.

4. A real job doesn’t require you to pay any money, no matter what the amount is. When was the last time you worked for a company where you were a salaried employee and had to pay to get started? That’s right, never. If a company needs to you pay for something, they should be willing to just minus it from your paycheck.

5. Be careful of work from home job openings stating things like “No experience necessary” and “Make $XXXX a month”. If the pay was really that good, unless if it’s straight sales, there will ALWAYS be some experience needed.

6. Use common sense. Don’t let your desperation for money blind your judgment. If you have any feeling that you might be in a middle of a scam, take a step back and reevaluate the situation. Ask friends and family for their opinion.

7. Do your research. If the job is a scam, chances are, you aren’t the first victim and because of that, you should be able to find tons of complaints online about the company or person.

So where do you find legit work from home jobs for moms or students or anyone looking for some extra cash? Since I’ve never actually looked for one, I wouldn’t be able to tell you but I do hire people from sites like Odesk and Elance which are definitely legit ways to make money from home. You probably won’t be making thousands of dollars a week like many of these scams will claim you can make, but at least you will actually make money.

If you search online a lot and want to earn virtual money that can be traded in for stuff like gift cards from Amazon for free, then read my Swagbucks Review.

If you’re in college or just graduated, chances are, you have some student loans to pay off. There is a student loan debt crisis that is going on. Think about it. It’s harder and harder to get jobs these days. Tons of people are going back to school to get a higher degree. They take out loans in order to pay for tuition. They graduate, still with no job. Six months later, they find out they have to start paying off their loans and are shocked to find out what their monthly payments are. Student loan debt has risen above $700 billion. Many experts are saying it’s the next bubble to burst judging by how the housing and financial industry crisis went down.

If you’re still going through college, you need to really look at what you want to do with your degree. The last thing you want is to owe tens of thousands of dollars in student loans just so you can get some worthless piece of paper that can’t even land you a decent paying job. If you’re going to go to college, choose a profession that involves skills, something marketable. It’s better to be a mechanic for example than to be an art or history major. Many business degrees are pointless as well such as economics and business administration.

A couple of years ago, it was announced that nursing was in great demand and applications started to pour in. Now, we have a situation where there is a lottery system just to get into a nursing program. That’s not all. Tons of newly graduating nursing students are finding it difficult to get a job. Just read the forum over at Allnursing.com. There are situations where thousands of people are applying for just a handful of positions.

Many people will find themselves having to pay off their student loans for the rest of their lives since these types of loans aren’t something you can just make go away be declaring bankruptcy. Check out the follow videos on the student loan debt crisis. It’s time that you take your financial matters into your own hands. Become educated on how to handle your money and how to make wise financial decisions. Just because everyone says you should go to college, it doesn’t mean that it’s the best choice for you. After all, most people go to college for one reason and that is to hopefully make more money. It’s a financial decision. Do it only if it makes financial sense for you.

Have you ever said, “I hate my job!” or “my job sucks!”? Office stress is something that is quite common. When you have to put up with a job you hate just so you can pay the bills, life can be a bit stressful. Wouldn’t it be nice to actually do work that you love or at least like? If so, do something about it. If you hate your job, do something about it instead of whining to your coworkers and friends and making it clear that you hate Mondays and can’t wait for the weekend to come on your Facebook status. Otherwise, you might be like one of these people one day…

Kyle: “I learned something today. We thought we could make money on the Internet. But, while the Internet is new and exciting for creative people, it hasn’t matured as a distribution mechanism to the extent that one should trade real and immediate opportunities for income for the promise of future online revenue. It will be a few years before digital distribution of media on the Internet can be monetized to the extent that necessitates content producers to forgo their fair value in more traditional media.”
