In its basic form, computer forensics is eDiscovery. In general, the purpose of computer forensics is to study a particular chunk of information in detail to be able to identify, preserve, recover, analyze or presents facts and opinions that are related to the information or matter at hand. Just to be clear as to how computer forensics works to supply evidence in a particular case, it is important to understand how they do it. Most criminals and people who have something to hide in a computer hard disk do it by hiding computer files. The process is therefore, very useful in the discovery of crucial computer based evidence that can bring closure to complicated cases.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration came out with a proposal on Thursday, April 12, 2012 to require that cars and light trucks sold in the United States be equipped with a brake override. The brake override would work by stopping a car or light truck when the brake and accelerator are depressed at the same time. When the brake and accelerator are pressed at the same time, whether the gas pedal is jammed or a driver is stepping on both pedals, power is cut to the engine.

The agency’s safety proposal came after Toyota made significant recalls of its vehicles in 2009 and 2010 for unintended acceleration issues that may have been caused by defects in the design.
