<p>“I don’t have a list! What do I do?”</p>
<p>I have been asked this question countless times. My answer is always the same; start right away where you are. These free videos show you how to do it the right way</p>

<p>I’ve been making a  living on the Internet for years now. But it wasn’t always this way. There was a time when I made no money at all online.</p>
<p>The two main reasons were not enough market reach and no subscribers. Today I have both. But each took time to build. I had to be willing to start where I was.</p>
<p>The challenge many people have is, rather than putting consistent effort into both market reach and building a list, they procrastinate.</p>
<p>Or they get sidetracked with activities that are not going to monetize their business. Building a successful business by way of the internet is a discipline. Don’t ever believe for a minute it is not. It takes work, commitment, dedication and focus. Anyone who tells you otherwise is likely not making money online. Simple as that.</p>
<p>One of the most important things you have to consistently do is build your list of people who are interested in you and your information. In the past we were somewhat limited in how we could do this. Today, there are countless ways to build a list.</p>
<p><strong>1. A traditional opt-in</strong> <strong>subscriber list through <a title="1 shopping cart" href="http://lynnelee.com/1shoppingcart" target="_blank">1ShoppingCart</a>, <a title="Autoresponder" href="http://lynnelee.com/Aweber" target="_blank">AWeber</a></strong>, or any number of providers. Keep the long-term in mind, as you begin to build your list. Some people look for all the free service providers. Free may not be in your best interests.</p>
<p><strong>2. Feedblitz or FeedBurner via your blog</strong>. Both allow you to build a list of readers who are requesting to receive your posts as you blog. Every time you post on your blog, people who have subscribed by way of the RSS feed will get your post delivered into their email inbox.</p>
<p><strong>3. Friends on Facebook</strong>. Building a friend’s list is a great idea, but not if all you are going to do is market to them. For everyone to get the most value you need to be a “real” personality on Facebook. However, be aware that not everyone is who he or she says they are. Use discretion with how much information you share.</p>
<p><strong>4. Followers on Twitter</strong>. Some people swear by Twitter while others think it is a complete waste of time. If you are only posting promotional information you are not creating value for others. Plan out your tweets to create the most value. You can use something like HootSuite to schedule out your tweets. This way you spend a few minutes posting tweets that will show up throughout the day rather than all at once.</p>
<p><strong>5. Connections on LinkedIn</strong>. I really like LinkedIn due to the quality of professional relationships I can build. The key to success is to post high value information. There are some people who are doing no more than promoting their products and services. This is NOT the way to get the most out of LinkedIn. Contribute to conversations; post information you find from other experts that would be of interest to group members, post questions, and always think in terms of how to build relationships.</p>
<p><strong>6. Subscribers on YouTube.</strong> The more quality videos you post, the more subscribers you will get. Make sure to include keywords in the title of your video and throughout the description. This makes it easier for people who are interested in your content to find you.</p>
<p><strong>7. <a title="article marketing" href="http://www.articlewritingandmarketing.com" target="_blank">Article marketing</a></strong>. This is one of the most effective ways to build your expert status as well as your opt-in subscriber list. At the end of your article, include a resource box that has some type of high value giveaway. When giving information away, think in terms of going above and beyond expectations.</p>
<p>These are only a few of the many ways you can build a following of people who enjoy, and look forward to, your information.</p>
<p>When you’re viewed as a viable resource, people will visit your blog and website. Make sure you have a way for them to subscribe to something, when they do stop by your blog and website.</p>
<p>However, in order to build a strong following you have to go above and beyond the norm. In years past it was a lot easier to get people to subscribe to something than it is today.</p>
<p>Nowadays your information has to be worth trading an email address for from the start.</p>
<p>The challenge many people have is they are so fearful of giving away content, thinking that if they give stuff away people won’t have a need to buy their information. The opposite is true. When you provide incredible free content, people are more inclined to buy from you when you have offers.</p>
<p>But again, your information has to be stellar. Take my 3-part video series – How to Build a Profitable Opt In Subscriber List. This is something I could easily charge for, but I prefer to give it away. Regardless of whether someone invests in my other information or not they have received incredible value from the complimentary information.</p>

<p>It’s amazing how stingy people are with their free information. They seem to think somehow people will magically find them, join their list and suddenly sales appear. It doesn’t happen this way at all.</p>
<p>The fact is, the businesses who are doing great online are those who are constantly providing great information. Free information.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p style="text-align: left;" align="center">Your site probably gets product and service inquiries from potential customers around the globe. Inquiries come via e-mail and your web site. You know that you can increase the likelihood of making a sale by satisfying each person’s need for information quickly so you try to send information to each prospect as quickly as you can!</p>
<p><strong>But, after you’ve delivered that first bit of information to your prospect, do you send them any further information?</strong></p>
<p>If you are like most business owners, you don’t.</p>
<p>When you don’t follow that initial message with additional information later on, you let a valuable prospect slip from your grasp! This is a potential customer who may have been very interested in your products or services, but who lost your contact information, or was too busy to make a purchase when your first message reached them.</p>
<p>Often, a prospect will purposely put off making a purchase, to see if you care enough enough to follow up. When they don’t receive a follow up message from you, they will take their business elsewhere.</p>
<h2>Are you losing profits due to inconsistent and ineffective follow up?</h2>
<p>Following up with leads is more than just a process – it’s an art. In order to be effective, you need to design a follow up system, and stick to it, EVERY DAY! If you don’t follow up with your prospects consistently, INDIVIDUALLY, and in a timely fashion, then you might as well forget the whole follow up process.</p>
<h2>Consistent follow up gets results!</h2>
<p>When I first started marketing and following up with prospects, I used a follow up method that I now call the “List Technique.” I had a large database containing the names and e-mail addresses of people who had specifically requested information about my products and services. These prospects had already received my first letter by the time they requested more information, so I used the company’s latest news as a follow up piece.</p>
<p>I would write follow up newsletters every now and then, and send them, in one mass mailing, to everyone who had previously requested information from me. While this probably did help me win a few additional orders, it wasn’t a very good follow up method. Why isn’t the “List Technique” very effective?</p>
<ul>
<li>The List Technique isn’t consistent. Proponents of the List Technique tend to only send out follow up messages when their companies have “big news”.</li>
<li>List Technique messages don’t give the potential customer any additional information about the product or service in question. He can’t make a more informed buying decision after receiving a newsletter! If someone is wondering whether your company sells the best knick-knacks, what does he care that you’ve just moved your headquarters?</li>
<li>List Technique messages convey a “big list” mentality to your potential customers. When I used to write follow up messages using the List Technique, I was writing news bulletins to everyone I knew! I should have been sending a personal message to each individual who wanted to know more about my products.</li>
</ul>
<h2>What follow up method really works?</h2>
<p>Following up with each lead individually, multiple times, but at set intervals, and with pre-written messages, will dramatically increase sales! Others who use this same technique confirm that they have all at least doubled the sales of various products! In order to set this system up, though, you need to do some planning.</p>
<p>First, you’ll need to develop your follow up messages. If you’ve been marketing on the Internet for any length of time, then you should already have a first informative letter. Your second letter marks the beginning of the follow up process, and should go into more detail than the first letter. Fill this letter with details that you didn’t have the space to add to the first letter. Stress the BENEFITS of your products or services!</p>
<p>Your next 2-3 follow up messages should be rather short. Include lists of the benefits and potential uses of your products and services. Write each letter so that your prospects can skim the contents, and still see the full force of your message.</p>
<p>The next couple of follow up messages should create a sense of urgency in your prospect’s mind. Make a special offer, giving them a reason to order NOW instead of waiting any longer. After reading these follow up messages, your prospect should want to order immediately!</p>
<p>Phrase each of your final 1 or 2 follow up messages in the form of a question. Ask your prospect why they haven’t yet placed an order or what&#8217;s keeping them from making a decision to work with you. Try to get them to actually respond. Ask if the price is to high, the product isn’t the right color or doesn’t have the right features, or if he is looking for something else entirely. (By this time, it’s unlikely that this person will order from you. However, his feedback can help you modify your follow up letters or products, so that other prospects <em>will</em> order from you.)</p>
<p>The timing of your follow up letters is just as important as their content. You don’t want one prospect to receive a follow up the day after he gets your initial informative letter, while another prospect waits weeks for a follow up!</p>
<p>Always send an initial, informative letter as soon as it is requested, and send the first follow up 24 hours afterwards. You want your hot prospects to have information quickly, so that they can make informed buying decisions!</p>
<p>Send the next 2-3 follow up messages between 1 and 3 days apart. Your prospect is still hot, and is probably still shopping around! Tell him about the benefits of your products and services, as opposed to your competitors’. You will make the sale!</p>
<p>Send the final follow up messages later on. You certainly don’t want to annoy your prospect! Make sure that these last letters are at least 4 days apart.</p>
<p>Following up effectively seems complicated, but it doesn’t have to be! So many potential customers are lost because of poor follow up – don’t you want to be one of the few to get it right?</p>

<p>Here are 10 tips for using social media to drive traffic to your sites…from Jimmy D. Brown of Traffic F.U.E.L.<br />

1. Complete your profile</strong></p>
<p>When you first open your Twitter, Facebook, Squidoo or other social media site accounts, fill out your profile completely (including a picture). Doing so makes it easier for people to get to know you and build relationships with you, which will make it more likely they’ll click through to your site.</p>
<p><strong>2. Interact with the people you meet</strong></p>
<p>Social sites are, by definition, social. They’re two way streets (not monologues). That’s why you shouldn’t just post content and move on. Instead, spend a few minutes each day interacting and getting to know people in your network.</p>
<p><strong>3. Include a link to your site on your profile page </strong></p>
<p>This tip is simple but effective: Give people a reason to click through from the social media site to your blog or squeeze page. A promise of a free solution usually makes a good incentive.</p>
<p><strong>4. Ask your followers to “retweet” and repost</strong></p>
<p>If you create a “buzzworthy” post (such as a post on a hot or even controversial niche topic), ask your Twitter followers to “retweet” it and ask your other social media networks to repost it.</p>
<p><strong>5. Spend time each day growing your network</strong></p>
<p>Commit to spending at least 10 minutes each day growing your network. You’ll see big results by the end of the month. And you’ll be amazed at the size of your network in six months or a year from now.</p>
<p><strong>6. Link your social site pages together</strong></p>
<p>Link your Twitter account to your Facebook, MySpace, Squidoo, HubPages and other social media pages. And vice versa.</p>
<p><strong>7. Use your real name so that you’re easy to find</strong></p>
<p>People who want to do business with you won’t respond well to working with “BaseballBoy72.” Instead, build trust by using your real name. Doing so also makes it easier for others to find you on Facebook and similar sites.</p>
<p><strong>8. Post good content</strong></p>
<p>Social media is not just about networking, it’s also about sharing information. If you share some of your best information with your network, you’ll get respect, trust… and more sales. Plus you’ll establish yourself as a niche expert.</p>
<p><strong>9. Optimize your content</strong></p>
<p>Some social sites (such as Yahoo! Answers and Squidoo) get crawled and indexed regularly by the search engines. As such, you may consider optimizing some of your content for the search engines by including relevant (longtail) keywords two or three times for every 100 words of content.</p>
<p><strong>10. Get the most benefit for your time</strong></p>
<p>Instead of trying to interact and build relationships with thousands of prospects, consider building a relationship with a handful of partners. That’s because just one good partner can send you hundreds or thousands of prospects and customers.</p>
