Trade Fair-Business Trade Show-Baby Expo at the Courtyard by Marriott Conference Center on<br />
April 20th. Some of the exhibitors at this year&#8217;s event were CST Consultants, Discovery Toys, Mary<br />
Kay Cosmetics, and Primerica Financial Services. The event supports the Calgary Food Bank and over<br />
$5,000 in foods and funds has been donated since 2009.</p>
<p>SuperMom Entrepreneur describes itself as “a marketing, education, and engagement initiative that<br />
aims to empower women entrepreneurs to become successful business leaders.” In 2012, SuperMoms<br />
hosted a workshop event in Vaughan entitled I&#8217;m The Boxx Expo. Guests in 2012 included Ruthie<br />
Burd (president and founder of the Lunch Lady Group, Inc.), Erika Mullings (founder of Fever Resort<br />
and Cruise Wear), and Jenny Munford (founder and CEO of Creative Bube Tube). Their event this<br />
year was held on February 24th and featured Judy Steinhauer (President and CBO of Bargains Group)<br />
as its keynote Speaker.</p>
<p>The Consumer Electronics Show, or CES for short, is produced by the Consumer Electronics<br />
Association and is the biggest and most influential show of its kind. This year’s event was held from<br />
Tuesday, January 8th, until Friday, January 11th, at the Las Vegas Convention Center and World Trade<br />
Center. Though the CES isn&#8217;t designed exclusivity for mothers, it does showcase a number of products<br />
that tech and business savvy mothers could find incredibly useful. Some of the trendiest products this<br />
year included the Galaxy Camera (the first camera to have a full-fledged Android onboard allowing<br />
user to upload pictures to social media sites), the Yotaphone (which features a new and innovative dual<br />

-You will need to bring business cards and include all of your contact information.<br />
-Bring order forms, brochures, credit card forms, and any other marketing materials you have<br />
-Other essentials include staplers, calculators, pens, suction cup hooks, and Gorilla tape<br />
-Do not forget to bring comfortable shoes.<br />
-It&#8217;s probably a good idea to leave your children at home, as they can distract people from you<br />
and your product</p>

<b>#1: About Google&#8217;s SEO Policies</b></span></p>
<p>There is no question about it: spammy sites are bad. Unless there is good content, a site is no good to anyone but the owner (if sales are being made). There may be a few exceptions but generally speaking, a long sales letter regarding how to toilet train your cat is often vastly less informative than certain YouTube videos on the same subject. The Web is acquiring a more formidable presence with each passing day, and it is best to keep our virtual streets clean. Sure, we are all on the edge, and some of us are suffering more than others, but ultimately, A RISING TIDE DOES LIFT ALL BOATS. It would appear that keeping the Internet clean is simpler than changing the real world. At the risk of sounding nauseatingly moral, let&#8217;s all use this opportunity to actually earn a living, shall we?</p>
<p><b>#2: And About Policies Again</b></p>
<p>We all wish we did not have to lead those elaborate guidelines that Search Engine giants like Google have. There is so much information, that, quite irrationally, we tend to convince ourselves that there is no need to know &#8216;all that&#8217;. And we complain bitterly when one fine morning (it could be any time of the day, actually), we are penalized for not following SEO best practices. This could be regarding the <b>recent disavowing of links</b> or a simple placement of adword code. IGNORANCE IS CERTAINLY NOT BLISS! The info is put out there for us to read, and the help forums are there to help. Let&#8217;s not pretend they don&#8217;t matter.</p>
<p><b>#3: Policies Yet Again, and Strategies</b></p>
<p>Do you actually know how your SEO experts are making your site rank? More importantly, do you even wish to know? Or do you believe that IF YOU ASK NO QUESTIONS THEY WILL TELL YOU NO LIES? While we are at it, might as well reiterate what we all know, but are skeptical about (admittedly, not without reason): the policy that is best has always been the one called HONESTY. What you don&#8217;t know can, and will hurt you (We are on a roll here, hm?). Shady practices will be found out &#8211; going overboard here: MURDER WILL OUT! &#8211; and you should really do yourself a favor and discuss with your strategists what is acceptable and what isn&#8217;t.<br />
<b><br />
#4: About Links</b></p>
<p>That thing about getting dofollow links? That one&#8217;s a myth. Here&#8217;s one proof: Alexa will show you backlinks from Wikipedia in case of certain sites. There are methods of finding out which sites have them, but that is not the point of discussion here. What we are trying to get at is the iron clad policy that Wikipedia has: all their outbound links are nofollow. So how come the world&#8217;s number five site shows up in the backlink list to add authority to the concerned sites?</p>
<p>Google and other Search Engines prefer natural link building. Even if you are building them unnaturally, make certain you have all sorts of links to given an appearance of normalcy. This is one lesson you simply can&#8217;t do without: TAKE CARE NOT TO PUT ALL YOUR LINK-EGGS IN ONE BASKET-SITE.</p>
<p><b>#5. About Emulating (Successful) Competitors</b></p>
<p>Right. This one&#8217;s tricky. &#8216;They&#8217; are all getting great response with crappy links and hackneyed articles while you don&#8217;t know how to make one measly dollar with your picture perfect SEO. They must be doing something right, right? Yes, if you value short term profits. Anyone with a certain degree of finesse can con, but are they going to make it in the long run? Yes, again, if they are a genius, and if you are one, we have nothing to say to you. If, however, you are the Average Joe with a dream to be the next Internet Millionaire, follow just one rule: Do It Right. Profits don&#8217;t really come with the push of a button. If you are doing things the proper way, <b>you will have profits plus authority</b>(read goodwill) eventually. Google cracks down time and again upon questionable practices, and you don&#8217;t really want to be part of the group that gets its collective bottom whipped. Moral of the story? TWO WRONGS DON&#8217;T MAKE AN INTERNET MARKETING RIGHT.</p>
