There is a site called Hubpages http://www.hubpages.com where you can create what they call a “hub” - which is basically one page of information.

This page of information can be about any topic you wish to write about. You could write a page about yourself, your company, a marketing strategy, you name it!

Now, the really cool thing about these pages is that Google loves them! So when you create a hubpage, it will get picked up and will tend to rank high in Google if you have optimized your keywords on the page.

So in my last post, I used the word “B*(*X”. Within minutes I had this unsubscribe confirmation email in my inbox…

“Unprofessional email. No need to use the word “bitch” to get attention.”

So was I using the that word to get attention? Maybe, but isn’t that what we should be doing as marketers?

I know that I am subscribed to a couple of lists where everyother word is a four letter word - but I stay subscribed because of the content. I do not run around cussing all day long - but in this instance I used the word for emphasis.

So while I was driving over there I was thinking about an email exchange I had this morning with a team member. The drive took a while, so I had lots of time to think since the roads were slicker than snot. I hope I don’t offend you with this little rant, but there is a valuable lesson in these words…..

Basically what happened is that this team member wrote me a pissy email and said that she was not having success - she was working 4 hours a night, doing all this marketing and she had not generated one single lead in 45 days.

I answered with my typical one line response…. “Tell me exactly what you have done.”

So when she gets back to me, she has done everything but what I have instructed and trained her to do. You see I keep no secrets from my team members, I test lots of things, then I share the ones that worked so they can do the same thing.

She had not done one of the marketing tactics - NOT ONE - that I had instructed her to do. These are the same tactics I use everyday to have success - and I DON’T spend 4 hours a night doing them! I generate tons of leads everyday using the same tactics I teach my team. These same tactics I use have generated so much success for me, I have top leaders in my company calling to find out what I am doing!

What I have found is that the people who join my team and do exactly what I show them to do will experience similar success to what I am having. However, those that don’t understand this, and don’t look at this like a business - will fail. And when they fail, they BITCH about everything!

However, those that are out there following my training and taking consistent action, I rarely hear from. I just see them having success when I see their results showing up in MY paychecks! They understand that this business is all about having a system you can follow, a system that is duplicatible, a system that gives them time freedom - and if followed long enough will bring financial freedom.

To have success in ANY business, you just have to find one thing that works and keep repeating that action over and over again. If you fail at something, move on, fail enough and you will succeed!

I encourage you to make sure you are taking actions that deliver results everyday in your business. Sure test new things, but fail fast and move on if they don’t work.

So how does one find people who like MLM?

The easiest and most obvious answer to this is to look for people who are already exposed to what MLM is all about.

This group of people has probably:

(1) Tried network marketing before and although they haven’t have success in their previous opportunity, is willing to give it another go by looking for another opportunity.

(2) Are already involved in a network marketing opportunity and they are looking for a chance to switch over into a ‘better’ opportunity or go under another upline who is more capable.

(3) Their previous MLM Company has recently shut down due to many different reasons and they are looking for a venue to start their network marketing business all over again.

These 3 groups of people are considered your target markets (which are the people who like MLM).

So what is the most effective way to target these people? Is it possible to bring them into your network?

For starters, the biggest problem most newbies in network marketing is to try to use the comparison tactic to get people to join their network marketing opportunity. They attempt to tell them that my product is better than your product, my compensation plan pays more than yours, my management team has more experience and my upline can help me ‘close’ more prospects compared to yours.

This kind of ‘my company is better than yours’ approach doesn’t win people over because a person convinced against his or her will is of the same opinion still. Even if you win the argument, you ‘close’ the back door and they will lose face when they lose the argument.

The better way to prospect these people is to first, brand yourself as a network marketing expert. Only when you find a way to provide value to other people will they even begin to consider your network marketing opportunity. Building relationships first is more important than entering into a shouting match to see whose company is better. When you can show your prospect that you can add value to their life (their knowledge, their income, etc), they will be more likely to join your network marketing opportunity in the future.

The same applies to network marketing success. The majority of people will not do anything. Only 20 percent of the people actually get around to doing something about it. But unfortunately, only a small percentage of THAT 20 percent actually achieves network marketing success (some give up after they fail to see results or because they move on to other commitments – not network marketing’s fault).

The first thing you must do in order to take the first step towards achieving network marketing success is to have a dream. Not just any dream but a dream that is HUGE. Do not let other people tell you what you can or can’t do. In Donald Trump’s own words, “If you are going to think, you might as well think big.” After all, you are already thinking anyway, so you might as well think big and achieve big. If you don’t have a dream, a compelling reason to keep you going when the going gets tough, you will definitely drop out from network marketing after you run into challenges.

Besides having a dream, you must have a blueprint for success. It is also not enough to have the ‘WHY’, you must have the ‘HOW’ as well otherwise you will have a big dream and it just stops at the dream part (because your dream never becomes a reality).

For example, there are a lot of network marketing prospecting methods that are considered obsolete by today’s standards. You cannot just do cold calling and pester your friends and relatives by forcing them to join your network marketing opportunity. You need to learn how to handle people and use the Internet to generate leads for your business.

You also need to structure your action plan properly because you need to know how to execute your plans to make your dream a reality. An action plan that works out day by day, week by week, month by month and year by year.

Write down on your time table, what you need to achieve this very day – reading a motivational book, engaging in prospecting activities, retailing some products to your customers and spending time with your downlines training and coaching them.

Without a definite day to day plan, your day will definitely slip by without much action. At the end of the day, it is all about you – don’t rely on your uplines or your downlines for success because if you do, you are building their business instead of your own.

The first way is the traditional, old school way of getting leads which is to pull out your mobile phone and writing down every single name on that phone onto your name list. Every single person, from your baby cousin all the way to your 60 year old grand aunt.

When you run out of names on your list, you will start to dig through your list of business cards for any name that you can call.

This method is actually very ineffective because you are spending a lot of time going through a list of people who are NOT in your target market. There is no way you are going to be effective if you keep on targeting people who do not have a big dream, people who are comfortable in their jobs or people who just won’t listen to what you say no matter what you say (they see the old beer drinking buddy Joe rather than someone who is pursuing their dreams).

The second and more effective way to get the best MLM leads is to go on the Internet and get your leads. But bear in mind, don’t just get any leads but rather leads that are targeted – that means people who are actively seeking for a network marketing opportunity or people who are on the verge of switching to another opportunity.

These people are the best kind of leads you can find because not only do they give you the least amount of resistance, they are actually people in your target market and you will spend less time and money on marketing costs.

There are many ways you can get the best MLM leads – either through driving free traffic or by paying for traffic.

The advantage of using free traffic is that you do not need to spend any money and you can easily get traffic from organic search terms as well as blogs, social networking sites, social bookmarking, forums, traffic exchanges and even other people’s blogs. Free traffic takes time to generate but it is very good if you are building your network marketing business on a shoe string budget.

Once you have made some money with your leads, you can invest into paid traffic as well. One of the advantages of using paid traffic is that you get to control the amount of traffic you can get. It all depends on your budget and you are the one that sets the cap on your traffic. You can get up to potentially unlimited traffic in a very quick time. Some of the best ways to get the best MLM leads also come from pay per click (PPC) campaigns such as Google AdWords, buying banner advertising and using co-registration leads.

On November 15th I paid $100 for a limted test of this traffic stream that will last for 30 days. All of my traffic has been sent directly to the landing page at My World Plus (http://burke.myworldpower.com).

So far I have generated 62 Leads and 2 Member upgrades, and I still have about 15 days left on the advertising purchase. This is a great deal! Right now I have recovered half of my initial cost, and I expect to completely cover my intial expense within the next 15 days.

Because of this success, I am putting together a TEAM ADVERTISING COOP for my team in MyWorld Plus.

How this works is that each share will cost $100. Every team member that purchases a share of the coop will have thier personal URL placed into a rotator. So for each share they purchase they will receive one “hit” to thier site. If they purchase 2 shares they would get 2 hits per rotation.

The way this traffic source works is that they more you spend, the less the traffic costs. So by pooling our money, we should be able to make a massive purchase - as well as share the risk a bit.

One of the reasons why they are so uncomfortable when approaching their friends is because they are fighting an uphill battle against their group of friends.

Granted, it is very difficult when you are doing it alone. After all, peer pressure is against you and the only way you can successfully convince your friends to join your network marketing is if you and another partner are working as a team.

The first and most notable example of working together as a team is with your spouse or your significant other.

The man will usually talk business, because most prospects usually perceive the man as the one holding the authority (not that women are inferior, but they have more powerful ROLES in different areas).

The women on the other hand, will do well trying to relate to the prospect through products and services.

With that said, don’t fight to be the boss – learn to examine the situation.

This sort of tag team prospecting is even more effective when dealing with couples because while the man talks about business plans in the living room, the women can chat all about products in the kitchen.

If you do not have a partner, you can always pair up with your upline or a side line (sometimes, it even works with downlines… after all, there is power in numbers). If your upline and you know a mutual friend, greatest leverage you have to convince a common friend to sign up is to use social leverage (after all, ‘everyone else’ is in… what about you?) This works even well if your upline has credibility and is someone who is well respected, you will have better chances for success.

The most important thing is to make sure you do not do this business alone. Network marketing is a business that puts you in business for yourself, but you are NOT going to work by yourself. Trying to go solo in your network marketing business is suicidal because if your downlines try and pick it up, they will each do things their own way (solo) and you will have a heck of a problem when your group reaches a large number.

Another reason why it is very difficult to work alone is because you don’t have all the time in the world to go running around prospecting and taking care of all your downlines at the same time. You need to share the load and give some credit to your downlines as they look out for one another when you are not around.

You are in business for yourself, but not BY yourself. You must learn to divide and conquer as you work together with your uplines, downlines, sidelines and even the staff in the company. When your prospect see you walk down the isle and the managers and staff are all waving to you, it gives you a lot of credibility (when they wave to you and you go, “By the way, that’s the managing director of the company…”)

Remember, there is strength in numbers.

Hi. This is Burke Jones, and this is the Internet MLM Pro podcast. I am back! That is right, folks. I know it has been a while since you have actually had a real podcast from me.

I have got some new technology. I’m using my iPhone. I’m using a voice recoring application. You know, the quality is probably really not what you would get with a better microphone, but I’m really going to go for some quality of information rather than peak performance on the audio file. I hope to start doing this much more frequently.

OK, guys, in this episode, I want to talk about content creation. We hear all the time about how you got to put content out there on the web, distribute articles, and make videos.

All of that goes out there to brand yourself as a leader and drive traffic back to your landing pages so that you can generate subscribers and build that relationship with people via email.

But who has the time to make a video, write an article, write blog posts, do all these different things? It just can become really overwhelming. So what I want to talk about right now is how to generate one piece of content and turn that into two or three different pieces of content.

What I am talking about is, and I am going to use this podcast episode as an example, as I am recording this, I am generating an MP3 audio file of this podcast. Then what I am going to do is I am going to send that MP3 file off to a transcription service.

And if you just search for “podcast transcription service” at Google, you will find a lot of companies that do this. They have people that for very inexpensively will listen to your podcast and type it up into an article, just transcribe it word for word.

So I am going to send off this audio file; I’m going to have it transcribed. That is going to give me a blog post, or content for my Squidoo page, or content for a Hub page, maybe even an article.

So right now, by creating one audio file, I have already created an audio file and I have created a text file for my blog or for other traffic generation strategies using article marketing.

Then what I am going to do is I am going to take this audio track and I am going to grab some pictures from royalty free photography sites and I am going to put together a video, or I might even just put a picture of myself up there and let it be shown with my website on there for the whole length of this podcast.

So by just recording this one time using my phone as I am driving around town here, I have created three different pieces of content that I can distribute across the web to further brand myself and generate, drive traffic to my website. If you want to be successful marketing your MLM business on the internet you really need to have a system in place that does three things - if you get one of these wrong you are destined for failure.

What are these 3 critical components of an affective MLM marketing system?

1. Highly optimized lead capture page
2. Automated follow-up via phone or email
3. Utilizes the powerful marketing tactic - the “fear of loss”

In this installment I will focus on discussing breifly the lead capture page.

For any lead capture page to really convert it needs three basic ingredients. A strong headline, feature and benefit bullet points, and a bit of mystery to draw the prospect in.

Get these right and you will have a winner. You see people will only spend a milisecond deciding if the page is worth reading further - this is where the headline comes into play. The first thing a prospect sees when they hit your page is the headline - and it must draw them in.

After the headline most people will scan the remaining text on the page - probably not reading every word - and within just a few seconds will make a decision to share their name, email, etc in return.

This is where the “mystery” comes into play. You want to tease the visitor with just enough information that it peaks their interest, but does not give the entire story. So you want to hint at the solution to their “pain” but not give them the complete answer. This will further encourage them to part with their private information and subscribe to your mailing list where you can further develop the relationship with them.

So how can you turn your business around and create a bullet proof scenario for success?

It is actually a very simple plan that can be broken down into 3 easy steps:

1. Begin building on the internet. In todays economy people that are searching for a home based business immediately think of the internet as the first stop for a business. You need to be generating your own free leads using the internet.

However, I realized about a month ago that I had seriously been neglecting my health. My blood pressure was beginning to rise right along with my weight. I knew I needed a change.

So I started running. Now, there is no way that a mildly overweight, out of shape guy like myself can just go out and run for 3 miles - I would probably kill myself. So I found a great running program called the Couch to 5k program - you can find out more here. Right now I just began week #4 if you care to see what I am doing.

Basically I run/walk 3 times a week. Each week the time spent running increases and the time spent walking decreases. So at the end of 8 weeks you are running non-stop for 30 minutes.

It is a great program, but it does take dedication.

One of the things I have learned over the past year is that dedication is really what is required for success. If you are dedicated week in week out to taking consistent action you will have success in this industry. The biggest secret to my success has been the ability to focus on the things that really matter - like traffic generation and front end profits.

By taking consistent action in my running program I am transforming myself from a couch/computer potato to a runner - and it is easy! The skills I have learned by building my business through dedicated action transfer to other parts of my life like running.

Today - right now - take action. Then do the same thing tomorrow. Before long it will be a habit - and you will not be able to stop yourself. The best part is that success will quickly be your reward.

She was a great dog, always very healthy - and turned out to be wonderful with our children as our family grew.

Over the past several months she really began to fail. In the last couple of weeks it had gotten really bad. She appeared to be in extreme pain, and would simply fall over walking across the floor - and forget about her going up or down stairs alone. The average life span of Dals is 11-13 years, and she had exceeded that by 6 months.

We had been to the Vet several times in the last couple of months, and there was simply nothing that could be done for her at her age.

So this morning we had to say our final good byes to our family pet and she passed away peacefully with me at her side. It will be strange and quiet night for us all.

I know this has absolutely nothing to do with business, but I have found it hard to focus today - it is strange how a pet dog can become such a part of a family!

I promised I would give you a quick road map, so just like the children in “The Magic Treehouse” book who point at a picture and magically transport to that location - you can “magically” insulate yourself from failure.

There are two ways to create this insulation, and virtually guarantee yourself success - if you take action.

First, put yourself in a position of lead abundance! You will never do this by bugging your friends and family or buying expensive leads…you must create your own.

The best way to do this is to simply create your own lead capture page on your own website and drive traffic to that page. However….

If the thought of creating your own thing is keeping you from getting started, the next best thing is to plug into a generic system, that brands you as a leader - and does all the heavy lifting for you. All you need to do is add traffic.

The next thing you need to do is give yourself a way of earning money! As your leads enter your system, you need a way of making money from them even if they never join your primary business.

For those of you without children under 10 years old, “The Magic Treehouse” is a great story about a brother and sister that have a treehouse full of books. The “magic” happens when they open a book and point at a picture - they are instantly transported to that place for the rest of the story.

In the current book we are reading they actually travel to a moon base. My kids really get a kick out of this imaginary story.

So after I tucked them in I started thinking about how dreams can propel your business forward. Much the same way that the children in the book, point at a picture and transport themselves to that situation - you can do the same thing.

Unfortunately, in this industry many of us are faced with so much rejection and disappointment that we stop believing in the “magic” that are those dreams we started with.

You really do need some way to protect your dreams like they are the most fragile creation on earth. After a bit of thinking I wrapped my mind around a couple of ways to put this protection in place….

First, put yourself in a position of lead abundance. When you have more leads than you can talk to in a single day, one little rejection will not stop you - after all you have hundreds more leads where they came from.

Secondly you must have a source of income in your business. One of the biggest struggles in this industry is finding good MLM leads. Unfortunately, most of the problem comes from the fact that the ideal target market has not been indentified before you start your marketing efforts.

Let me illustrate with a quick story…

The other day my lovely Wife sent me to the store with a short list of items that we needed for our home. On the list was written “Finesse Hairspray” - yes it was for her - I am not much of a hair product guy.

So I headed over to the hair spray aisle and began my search. I looked and looked, but could not find “Finesse Hairspray - black bottle.”. I must have spent five minutes looking at each and every bottle on the aisle - who knew there were so many brands of hair product! Finally I came to the conclusion that the store simply did not have “Finesse Hairspray” and finished my shopping.

When I got back to my car I gave her a quick call to see if I needed to go somewhere else. She could not believe that the store did not have it. I said the only black bottle on the shelf was “Tresemme”. At which point she exclaimed, “That’s it!”. She had mistakenly written the wrong brand name down on the shopping list. Sure enough I went back in and instantly found what she wanted.

Now your probably wondering how this story relates to your target market and generating MLM leads for your business, so let’s look at this from a business perspective.

When we first get into this business we are told to target our friends and family. Then when that does not work, we are told to purchase generic business opportunity leads. Sure this tactic might get you a few new associates, but from my perspective these two groups of people are not your ideal target market, and the struggle will continue for you.

Just like when I was trying to find the wrong hairspray on the shelf, and did not have success, targeting the wrong group of people will also lead you to failure.

However, once you identify the precise market to suck your MLM leads from, life becomes much easier. In exactly the same way I instantly found the correct hairspray once I knew the right brand name, you will be able to enroll new associates at a record pace!

“The King of Free Leads”

But you really need to hear, as Paul Harvey says, “the rest of the story”!

So, I was attending the annual parent-teacher conference for my oldest son. Who by the way is doing exceptionally well! Am I a proud Dad or what?

When I got back in my car after the conference I whipped out my iPhone to see what new email had arrived while I was busy at the conference - yes I am addicted, so leave me alone.

While I was in the conference, I received an email from my Network Marketing company saying that I had just enrolled a new member.

Now, the important thing to understand is that I had never spoken personally with this individual. I had never sent them any email other than what was already loaded in my autoresponder. And yet, this individual still joined my business!

This is what I call leverage! Forget about all that stuff your upline keeps telling you is leverage - junk like buying leads and bothering your friends and family…

If you are ready to embrace the internet, generate your own leads, make money from these leads even if they never join your team AND recruit at the push of a button, maybe you need a new direction.

Let me explain with a quick story. Last summer I attended Webelos (Cub Scout) camp with my oldest son. On one of the days at camp they got to shoot BB guns. (Which by the way is one of the reasons I love Scouting - it lets boys do things boys like to do, but we have managed to allow them to be politically incorrect - but that is another story!)

The boys were instructed on the range safety, gun safety and proper shooting technique. They were taught how to aim the BB gun by aligning the front sight and the back sight on the target.

Surprisingly the boys were very good shots in general. They were finding their targets, aiming, and hitting the mark.

Now just imagine if they were suddenly blindfolded, and the targeted started bouncing up and down. Do you think they would experience the success they had been experiencing? Highly unlikely!

This same idea holds true in your business. You have to identify the market, by finding out what need or desire your product can fill - this is your target market. Once you understand this your business is bound for success.

However, if you pick wrong, or misunderstand what your target market is, it will be just like shooting a BB gun blindfolded while the target is moving - success will be difficult to obtain.

So before you take your first action in your network marketing or MLM business, be sure that you have identified your target market with laser guided precision. Then and only then will the marketing efforts you make be rewarded with success.

Hold on to your wallet! Buying leads is the quickest way to failure that I have ever seen. Sure it works for a very small percentage of distributors, but typically they have spent a bundle to learn the techniques and tactics required for this success. There are two reasons that your upline recommends buying leads for your Mona-Vie business - leverage and money.

Lets break this down and take a look at leverage. You see it works for your upline, because they have hundreds of suckers under them just like you. If a small percentage of their downline manage to sponsor someone it adds up to massive growth for their business. Unfortunately, you will probably never experience the same success.

What about the money aspect? The real industry secret is that your upline is probably making a commission on every lead purchase you make. Just imagine that they make 20% of every purchase you make, and every purchase of the 100 other people on their team - do you think that would add up to some serious cash? I bet it would!

So what can you do so you can manage to stay in this business long enough to experience the true power of residual income we have all been promised?

Simple…generate your own exclusive leads and send them through a funded proposal follow-up sequence, so you can make some cold hard cash, even if they don’t join your primary business!

For starters I love how Donald writes - I like his style. This book was a quick read even though it comes it at 368 pages - yes the print is big with plenty of white space

So what did I get out of it? Plenty! If you are positioning yourself as a leader in this industry of Network Marketing, I can assure you that you will to.

What is the biggest thing I took away from it? Work harder than anyone else and you will succeed!

The book was loaded with stories from Donald’s own life the clearly bring this point home. Even at his lowest points financially, he still worked hard, took chances - and clearly kicked a__.

There is no doubt that Donald is ruthless in business - much more than I would ever be, however, he seems to justify his style in a manner that ends up making sense.

Donald does not “think” he is a leader - he KNOWS he is a leader (and even speaks repeatedly of how good looking he is and his great hair). I do think this is an important thing for us to think about as MLM’ers - stopping “thinking” you are a leader and simply acknowledge that you are! Leadership is not given it is a mindset that is taken.

Should you read “Think Big and Kick Ass”? Absolutely, it was worth every penny I spent on it. And as a bonus it has given me tons of ideas for articles and emails - so stay tuned….

“You are so lucky to know how to use the internet to build your business…”

“You are so lucky to have a growing team…”

Whenever I hear statements like these I am reminded of a professional golfer name Gary Player. Gary was a top player back in the 70’s, in fact he won 9 majors - and 3 masters - this guy was top rated.

Many of the commentators called him “diminutive” - he was smaller than many of the other players. So how did he do so well on the links?

Simple - he worked harder than anyone else. He was always practicing, excersising and working on his game. He simple out hustled everyone else on the course, before he stepped onto the tee-box.

In the U.S. Open he hit an incredible 5 iron shot and landed the ball right next to the pin and sunk it. The commentators said “Gary, unbelievable, you got so luck.” Here is how he responded….

“It seems the harder I work, the luckier I get.”

I love this statement - in fact it is one of those statements that I keep posted next to my computer.

It really is true - outside of a very few “lucky” people that win the lottery - successful people became succesful by working extremely hard!

So how does this relate to your network marketing business? Simple - get started doing something. Just because you are in network marketing, it is no magic bullet to wealth and success. You simply have to work, put your head down and get busy, and massive MLM success will come your way.

Then people will say to you “you are so lucky”…and you will simply smile and remember this story.

This conversation reminded me of this proverb that I had heard many years ago, and still keep posted on my bulletin board. I like it because I really think it says a lot about taking action in life and business.

“You can’t cross a chasm in two leaps.” - Ancient Chinese Proverb

I see far to many people really want to acheive success, but they simply fail to take the actions necessary for success. Here are some of the common causes I see:

- Seeking Perfection: People are so critical of their work, they fail to ever launch. Listen folks, if you are getting started, it does not have to be perfect to work! You can always tweak and redesign later, just get something out there.

- Feeling Overwhelmed: Many people look at my business or other leaders online, and think they have to have everything in place on day one. You don’t need to have your own products, you don’t need to videos, articles, multiple websites on day one. You just need one thing - a lead capture page! Then you can build from there!

So isn’t it time to stop standing on the edge of the chasm? Get ready to take that one major leap to make it to the other side - take action on your business today. Figure out how to make just one thing happen everyday and before you know it you will land on the other side of the chasm - the side that few find because they are trying to make two leaps to the other side.

Marge, great question! I also appreciate the links you have sent me, I will check them out as well.

I am a big fan of traffic exchanges and mailing list builders for a couple of reasons. First they take very little time to set-up and keep them running. They may or may not bring in floods of traffic, but when you get a enough trickles from different sources it all adds up to a flowing river of traffic to your landing pages.

I am particularly interested in traffic builders that let you email other users. This is different from a Safe List - which I have not found to be very effective. The type of system I am referring to allows you to email other members of the site to promote your site.

Here are the four of these sites I am using right now to grow my list and build my business:

List Bandit
List Joe
Your Lucky List
ListDotCom

All four of these come with a free version - however, you really want to take a strong look at the one time offer which will be shown only once on your first login to the system. I have purchased the one time offers in all four of these programs because it is worth every penny!

You see the free versions will work, but you will be limited on how many members you can email and how often you can email them. To truely leverage the system, I take advantage of the membership upgrade when offered, which will allow you to email more members, more often.

So what should you email them? Keep your email short and simple. Give you link at least 3 times in the body of the email. You should only promote one link per email - and it should go to a lead capture or squeeze page. The least effective way to use this resource is to send them to your company provided web site.

You would either send the traffic to your personal site or one of the generic prospecting systems out there. You want to get the lead and then be able to build a relationship with that person over time.

What makes this program successful is getting your malls out to as many people as possible. So should you purchase generic biz-op leads to find more people to present your opportunity to? Unfortunately, this is what many new owners will do, and they will typically be met by failure. What you really need to think about is finding the “right” person to present your opportunity to. It is better to have one really targeted prospect than dozens of unqualified and uninterested prospects - which is typically what you find when you buy leads for you Power Mall business.

I have been thinking about this recently in my own business, and I have done three things that help me tremendously, so I thought I should share them so that others may benefit.

1. Big Goals - I always start with my biggest goals first. These are goals that I would like to realize in 3 to 5 years. These are important because they let you dream big and these goals give you the freedom to do exactly that.

2. 6-12 Month Goals - I typically do this at the beginning of the year, but do it whenever it makes sense to you. What I do is take a sheet of paper and write down specific goals to be completed during these time periods. Typically these are task oriented or project oriented. So in my particular business it is setting goals for web site traffic, number of new leads per day and products that I would like to develop for my team and customers.

3. Weekly Based Task List - At the start of each week I indentify the imporant tasks I need to accomplish to work towards my 6 to 12 month goals. These tasks are in addition to the normal tasks I do simply to keep my business running from day to day.

When you break you goals down into specific action and short term tasks and goals, it is much easier to keep moving forward towards you “big dream” goals that you will eventually realized by staying on task.

I am reminded of the question “How do you eat an elephant?”…..”one bite at a time!”

Simply by taking small “bites” on a daily basis eventually you will have “eaten” the entire goal - and you will have realized substantial progress in your business.

While big goals are good, sometimes we need to break them down into smaller slices so that we can make progress. So last night that is exactly what I have done.

My short term goal is to get started on PPC traffic. Now I consider myself the “King of Free MLM Traffic”, but I know I am missing out of huge traffic simply because I have not taken the time to get my PPC campaigns set up correctly.

So that is my goal for this week! By the end of the week I will have a whole new traffic stream implemented and generating hot fresh leads for my business.

Yesterday I received this great question from Susan:

My biggest struggle is finding leads. I know you have to spend money to make money, but when you are starting out, thats just not feasable.

So if I look a bit below the surface of her email, the real question is how can I get started generating my own leads with little to no money.

It appears that she may be coming from the point of view where she was probably purchasing generic biz-op leads and the cold calling them. From my experience this is simply a quick and painful recipe for disaster. I have never seen one company that will pay enough on a new associate for you to cash flow this - the leads are simply too expensive, and the rejection is to great!

I also think it is a mistake to think that we can build a business - any business (MLM or otherwise) - with no money. You must have some money to get started.

So let me give you a quick run down of a simple system that will get you started with $40 bucks out of pocket maximum - which will allow you to generate your own leads, and make a profit from those leads.

Step One (less than $20.00) - Get a web hosting account (Try Dream Host for a good deal - I use them!)

Step Two (Free) - Create a simple lead capture page. Don’t know how? Just look at some examples and model yours around the ones you like best.

Step Three (about $20.00) - Set up an account at Aweber so that you can actually capture these email addresses and names. Then you will be able to build a relationship via email with your new leads.

Step Four (Free) - Start writing articles and submitting them to the article directories like EzineArticles.com. If you write one article a day you will be amazed how your traffic starts to build.

So you can generate high quality MLM leads using the internet. Just don’t become overwhelmed! Take action on this plan and it will work for you.

My Wife and I are packing our bags and heading off tomorrow morning for a short get-away in San Diego. My parents arrived this morning to handle the kids for the week, which our kids and Grandparents alike are totally excited about!

We are really looking forward to this trip. We don’t get this chance very often - and three kids keep you pretty busy. It will be nice to simply be together and relax.

On top of that I have been working very hard the month of January - and I have some really big projects planned for February (keep your eyes on your email for the announcements) - so I am looking forward to recharging my batteries and coming back home next week reinvigorated.

In any business sometimes you have to take a step back, relax, and return with a new energy. I do hope to use the break to really do some thinking. Many times we are so busy in our daily routines, that we don’t allow ourselves a chance to be quiet and simply think - which is something I love to do.

My two boys and I are actively involved in Cub Scouting. Yesterday was the annual Pinewood Derby race. For those I you might not be familiar with the Pinewood Derby it is basically a toy car race.

Each boy receives a block of wood, 4 nails that are the axles and 4 tires. They then carve and shape the wood to look like a car and mount the wheels.

Of course just like anything in life it gets pretty competitive so we ended up spending hours polishing the axles, painting the car and basically making it as fast as possible.

So the day of the race my two boys were nervous with excitement and anticipation.

Each boy gets to race four times. It was interesting to watch their emotions as the races progressed. My oldest son came in third place on the first to races.

He was getting upset because my other son had come in second in both of his races.

Then in his third race my oldest son came in first! Oh boy, his emotions instantly swung the other direction and he was on top of the world.

I found it so interesting how their emotional state could swing so dramatically from the success or failure of thier last task.

This same situation seems to affect many adults as well as they begin to build their MLM businesses.

The mark of a true entrepreneur is that they do not become so emotionally involved it each event. They look at each success or
failure as a learning experience.

When you get to a point in your own mind that each activity is not judged as a success or failure but rather just one point in a journey to success, life becomes so much more fun.

The problem is that most of the ways we are taught to build our MLM businesses simply don’t allow us to reach this point. From my experience it really takes two things to happen in your business before you can get your mind around this.

You have to place yourself in a position of lead abundance. If you have more leads than you can physically contact you don’t get as concerned over every rejection.

But you also must put yourself in a positive cash flow position. You simply cannot continue to lose money each and every month and have the mindset you must have to succeed. If you do not have positive cashflow you don’t have a business you have a hobby.

This is the game I play everyday, and it rocks! So right now make the decision to not ride the emotional roller coaster of each race as my son did. Instead get started today building a real business where emotions don’t have to rule your life.

There is a basic philosophy that has been taught in most network marketing companies that says you promote the company - the MLM company - at the front end. So if you looked at the flow it would look like this: Prospect to Company, Company to You.

It has always been this way because to grow a large organization, the upline leaders needed people to focus on growing the team. The team aspect is what really creates the leveraged wealth in this industry.

Here comes the scary part of this mlm plan….you don’t own your downline. You don’t own your business - the parent company owns the downline and owns your business. What happens the day the company goes bankrupt? What happens when all H*** breaks loose and the press begins to attack the company or the product is found to be defective or dangerous?

I will tell you what happens - and it is sickening - your entire business, and all your income, will be gone almost overnight. I have seen this happen - and it is the scariest thing about this business.

The philosophy I use in my mlm business plan is very simple. I want to control as much of the business as I can. How do I do this?

I simply rearrange the flow so it looks like this: Prospect to ME! I build the relationship with the prospect, I control where the prospect goes. If that means they join my downline - the best answer - then I have built the first relationship, and we are a true team. It allows me to form relationships and bonds with other human beings at a much deeper level. So when the worst happens - which is what we need to plan for - I am prepared to leverage those relationships and hit the ground running.

The other aspect of this plan that is very powerful is that it allows me to have massive leverage. Leverage is one of those things that all the “heavy hitters” in your upline like to talk about, but most have no idea what it can really mean to their businesses.

By creating my own leads, that build a trust and relationship exclusively with me, I am able to create income outside of my primary business, even if these prospects never join my primary company. I don’t know about you, but I call that tremendous leverage - which comes from control of the process.

To summarize, here is the way my MLM business looks in a nutshell - I generate leads, I build a relationship with those leads on autopilot, I profit from these leads, the BEST leads call me with credit card in hand. Keep these ideas in mind as you put the pencil to the paper and start writing your own plan for success.

My fortune cookie saying was this:

“Luck happens when hard work meets opportunity.”

For the rest of the night I really pondered this little saying. You see, all to often we tend to look at those around use and say “he got so lucky” or “she was lucky to in the right place at the right time”. It is what we don’t see that we usually don’t understand.

I know that other than the occassional $10 dollar payoff on a lottery ticket, my “luck” was usually created by lots of hard work. It is the hard work, the work you put in to your MLM business without know the outcome that will make your “lucky” in the end.

Successful business people understand that hard work is the only thing that will put the in the winners circle. Unfortunately, so many people get involved with MLM solely on emotional level - and don’t have the burning desire that will be required to create wealth. They are still stuck on the lottery ticket mentality, and don’t understand that as the fortune cookie says best “luck happens when hard work meets opportunity”.

Okay, as you know Web 2.0 is all the rage these days in fact there are courses out there costing $1,000’s of dollars to teach you how to use these systems.

So what is Squidoo? Squidoo is a social networking site that allows you to create what are called lenses. A lense is nothing more than a one page site on a specific topic. You then load up content on that topic and publish your lense for the world to see.

The beauty of this system is that Squidoo makes it very easy to create your lense - they have all these “fill in the blank” modules that make is super easy to use.

What can you create a lense on? Anything! But for the purpose of growing your M’LM business, you want to keep it focused on lead generation.

I even have an example to show you. I just created this lense - it only took me about one hour to create which included writing the content!

So how can you focus your energies on the most important things, and save yourself a ton of money?

1. Stop spending money! You heard me right, there is no magic bullet in any system or strategy. For every traffic generation strategy out there - lets take article marketing as an example - there are dozens of info products that will teach you the “secrets” that will explode your traffic. It can be very overwhelming! What I recommend is that if you want to become an expert, and get started quickly - buy ONE product on the subject, then apply yourself 100% to that traffic tactic until you are an expert! DON’T purchase 3 products on three different strategies all on the same day or even the same week - you will simply become overwhelmed and make no progress.

2. Focus! When you are first getting started you should focus on two simple things. Driving traffic and starting a conversation with your new leads. When you drive traffic to your site (which should be some form of capture page) you will get leads. Then you can follow up with these leads either with email (the easiest and most leveraged) or you can call them. You want to begin a conversation with these leads which builds trust over time - this is what will grow you business.

3. Repeat! Just keep mastering one new traffic strategy before proceeding to the next one. Then and only then learn and master a new one. As you repeat this month after month, your traffic and your leads will increase. At first it might just be a few leads a week, but as your traffic grows, so will your leads until someday you could easily be generating hundreds of leads a day.

4. Start with big goals, but narrow the goals down to achieve small victories. At first you really need to celebrate small victories. Celebrate the first lead you generate, celebrate the first income you have! Start small, and build it over time. What happens is most people expect 100 leads per day to hit their account immediately - which is simply unrealistic. Build slowly over time and you will be building a sustainable business!

If you take these four simple elements to heart, before you know it you will be the next “heavy hitter” in your company - you know who I am talking about - the guy or gal that gets to walk across the stage and the annual convention. How does that sound for a long term goal?

What happened?

It acted like it was loading but all that showed up was a “white screen” - no email, no nothing!

Then about 30 minutes later my Father gave me a call and was having the same problem. We did fix this Gmail problem, so I thought I would share how we did it.

I don’t know if this fix will work with Firefox, since I don’t use that browser, but it does work with IE.

Here is how we fixed this Gmail problem:

In Internet Explorer click on the “Tools” => “Internet Options”. This brings up a dialogue box - click on the “General” tab. The second option on that tab is “Browsing History” - click the “Delete” button.

After you click the “Delete” button, a new box pops up - click the “Delete Files..” button next to the “Temporary Internet Files” section.

This will delete the cache and all the temporary internet files your system keeps when you go surfing.

This is all it took to fix the problem of the “white screen” we were both having with Gmail. I know many of my readers use Gmail, so I thought I would pass this along if you are having the same problem.

Thanks for the great question Margaret! As you know I am a big proponent of not spending a ton of money on advertising, until you have some revenue coming in. This is the biggest pitfall of most MLM’ers - they spend themselves right out of business.

So lets talk about getting free MLM leads. First I want to define what a “free” lead means to me. A “free” lead means that even if I have to spend money to generate the leads, I will at least break even - but preferrably generate a profit - from this lead even if they never join my primary business.

You have to have a way to monetize your leads or you will go broke before you even have a chance at success in this tough business. You can monetize your leads a number of ways from selling your own information product to sending them to other sites where you will generate commissions as an affiliate.

Now that we have that covered, I will share my favorite method with you that I use all the time. Please understand it is my favorite method “right now” - I am always looking and testing to find other streams of leads and traffic.

My favorite method right now is List Joe. When you sign up for List Joe you will be able to email other members of List Joe. You generate credits in the system by visiting the sites other people are promoting when you receive email from List Joe. Wow! I love this question, and I love the fact that Amy stood up and took the risk to fire me off an email and put herself out there!

I am going to answer this from the standpoint of building your business primarily using the internet to generate leads and promote your business. It is actually much easier to do this on the internet than anywhere else.

Step One: Change your mindset! You need to constantly be educating yourself. I RARELY listen to the radio while I am in the car, and I don’t watch TV while I am excersising - I continuously listen to self improvement and educational information on my iPod. This will do more to put your mind in that “leadership” mentality than anything else. Honestly, I used to think this was a voodoo, until I actually started doing it - and now I can see the power in it!

Step Two: Stop promoting your primary business on the front end, and start generating an income from a funded proposal. The easiest way to get started with this is to simply head over to “Magnetic Sponsoring” and purchase the book. Then get started using the system to generate leads for yourself AND an income!

Last night we sat down to plan our strategy for this year, as the race is a few weeks away. We opened the box the cars came in and began to study the raw blocks of wood, the axles (nails) and tires.

The first question I always ask this type of person is this: “Are you buying MLM leads?”

I hear so many people that complain about not getting anything going in their business. When I ask them what they are doing, and they answer truthfully, it is usually not enough to make the impact they want in a quick fashion. Somewhere in the conversation they typically use these words “I don’t have the time.”

So lets break that down a bit and see how we can change it. Personally time is also an issue in my life, but I have managed to find ways to build my business quickly, generate dozens of leads a day and make money while still having a personal life. So how do I manage my time?

For starters I use the internet almost exclusively because it allows me to leverage my time and effort. Almost everything I do on the internet will continue to provide me benefits even when I am not working. For example using article distribution, I can write an article once, post it online, and it will continue to bring in leads for months to come. Every post I write for my blog will be online for ever, and provide leads that come from the search engines.

By using a email autoresonder I can communicate with hundreds or even thousands of people per day, building relationships and gaining new friends and business associates. I could never communicate with this many interested prospects if I was doing all of my business building in my warm and hot market.

Here is what I do to carve out three extra hours I can spend building my business each day. I get up at 30 minutes earlier each morning. I work on my business over my lunch hour. I work after I get the kids to bed up to two hours.

The biggest secret is that when you sit down to work, really work! Don’t start surfing the internet or reading forums. Instead spend that time writing articles, posting videos, contributing meaningful content to forums - this is how create success. So many times I have sat down to “work” and I ended up simply wasting 60 minutes surfing the net, and not actually doing something productive to build my business.

With a little thought and dedication, you can easily carve the time needed to build a success internet based MLM business.

The biggest secret to having more success than you have ever had before is to personally brand yourself as a leader. Don’t worry this is not some kind of magic that you will take years to learn. Branding is as simple as positioning yourself to add value to another persons life.

Everyday new people are joining the internet marketing arena, and each one of them is searching for answers, answers that you have.

Most network marketing companies teach basically the same system. I am sure that if you are involved in MLM you will recognize a training system that teaches things like building your names list, purchasing leads, cold calling, the three foot rule, hotel meetings and a multitude of other tired techniques. Now I am not saying these don’t work, they do, but not for everybody.

This will allow you to stay in the game long enough to enjoy the benefits of the residual income that your network marketing business will provide.

3. Traffic Generation Training - If the system comes with a complete training system and team training, this will also be of benefit to you. You will not have to spend so much time training new associates, allowing you to continue to focus on your business.

By plugging into a great system it will also allow you to position yourself as a leader. People will join your team because they know, like and trust you OR you have a system in place that they can see themselves plugging into.

So what does a MLM recruiting system look like if you are building your business on the internet? For my team I use a three step system that everyone plugs into, and the best part is that it is automated.

Step 1 - Traffic Generation

Without traffic going to your web site, your business will be dead in the water. The old saying “build it and they will come” simply does not apply to the internet. So the first step in my system is to teach my new team members how to generate traffic to our landing pages. At first I only teach them how to leverage Web 2.0 and generate buckets of free traffic. Once they start earning some income to cover advertising expenses we branch off to cover paid sources of traffic.

Step 2 - Viral Traffic Generation

In addition to the traditional traffic generation system like article marketing, MySpace, Facebook, etc. we also plug into Viral Traffic Generators. These type of systems give you credits or page views. You accumulate these credits as people sign up using your link and activate their own accounts. Do you see how well this fits into a MLM marketing plan? As you team grows, you get more credits which equals more traffic to your landing page.

Step 3 - The Funded Proposal

It is very important that your system include a funded proposal. A funded proposal system allows you new team members to be in a position to profit from their leads, even if the lead never joins your primary business. Making income outside of your MLM might be a new concept for many. However, as you know most MLM companies have a minimum monthly expense to keep active - in other words you must purchase something every month. This can quickly get expensive for the new associate, and if the financial pain threshold is hit, that new associate will disappear. However, if you are using a funded proposal, it will not be hard for you new associates to earn enough to cover their monthly MLM expenses. By allowing them to earn money quickly, you will help that new associate stay in the game long enough to enjoy the residual income that is offered by network marketing.

Remember, network marketing is still based on relationships even if you are building your business on the internet. There is no better place to build relationships than many of the Web 2.0 sites that are popping. Of course the grand daddy of them all is MySpace. You don’t have to have any special web design skills to get your profile page set up and active. Get it made and then start making friends. Don’t hammer everyone with a heavy handed marketing approach - show value and people will be attracted to you naturally.

By using just these two simple techniques you will be able to start a regular flow of traffic to your landing pages. It is best not to get caught up in every new “traffic craze” that the gurus are trying to sell you on. Just stick to the basics and before you know it, you will have more leads than you have ever had and your team will be growing at a record pace!

The way most MLM organizations teach you to grow you team, and in fact the way I was taught to grow mine originally, is to work in your hot or warm market. Almost every organization teaches you to build a list of names, and start contacting them and introducing your business.

What happens very quickly is that you brand new baby associate starts hearing “no” - and if all they hear is “no” you are very lucky. Of course, in this example we are dealing with kids emotions. However, in MLM we are dealing with adults, and very real financial concerns and elements of personal pride.

For most new associates after they hear “no” or “are you crazy, this is a pyramid”, the fear of rejection will overcome them and they will disappear into the night never to return - and even more disturbing, their dreams are gone as well.

So how can you turn this around, and give your new associates a way to have more leads then they know what to do with? Get them started building a list of subscribers using the internet, and even better get plugged into a system that provides income, training, and leads.

By using the power of the internet you can literally build relationships with hundreds, if not thousands, of individuals. How do you do this? By having a high conversion landing page and an email autoresponder.

The autoresponder allows you to leverage you time and communicate your message with more people on a daily basis than you could ever communicate with face to face.

By using the internet to build your MLM business you are also completely eliminating the fear of rejection. If someone is not interested they will simply unsubscribe from you mailing list, but it won’t matter, because you will have added 3 new people to replace that one.

When I first heard about MySpace I always thought it was only used by the younger, teenage and college crowd and there was really no serious exchange of information. After all it seems that every time you hear about some whacko on the news, they always show their MySpace page as a part of the story.

I was completely wrong. When I started digging into MySpace as a way to generate leads and form relationships with like minded individuals, I realized that there is a ton of excellent information available, and strong friendships to be formed inside of MySpace.

Here are a two tips to help you get started using MySpace to grow you MLM business:

1. Reach out and get involved. The fastest way to get involved with others on MySpace is to join a group. There are groups for just about any area of interest, and there are dozens just in the “making money” and “network marketing” area. Join some groups and get involved in the discussions.

2. Start sending messages to those that interest you. There are some really interesting profiles that have been created. Find one of a like minded individual and get the conversation rolling. Don’t just pitch your business from the start, think about creating a friendship first and then go from there.

Marketing on MySpace is a very powerful approach, but you have to be careful. The best way is to have a very nice profile page, keep it focused on your business, but don’t be afraid to show your personality as well. Remember, this is a social environment, and you need to have some fun as well as conducting business.

This has happened to me. I was spending all of my time helping new associates get going, that I had completely ignored working on my own lead generation techniques. In the end what happened was that my pipeline was not full, and my entire business began to slow down. Without my own leads entering my funnel, I had significantly impacted the growth of my personal business.

So I sat down and formulated a 90 day plan of action to propel my MLM business to the next level. This plan is one that you can easily adapt to your own situation, so get busy and grow your business.

Here are the three steps of my personal plan for the next 90 days:

1. Video: Over the next 90 days I will produce one video of value each and every day. Some days I may do more than one, but at the end of 90 days I will have 90 new videos.

2. Articles: I will write 90 articles over the next 90 days. These will be posted on my blog and distributed to the article directories for instant and long term exposure.

3. Ebay: I will continue to generate free leads using eBay. This is a great way to generate leads at a profit, and the quality is very high as well.

As you can see, my plan does not include purchasing leads. Purchasing leads is something that I do not believe in for my business - and I would recommend against it for 99% of all people as a way to grow your business.

So there you have it, my 90 day plan for MLM growth. Feel free to copy it or adapt it to your personal business. I expect that at the end of 90 days, my team will be significantly larger. Furthermore, all these tactics have residual power that will continue to bring in traffic over a long period of time.

I remember when I first got started in network marketing, I followed the company provided “training system” to the letter. I made a list of people I knew. I purchased leads. I followed up. I bought dozens of DVD’s to pass out. You name, I did it!

Cash Producers We all know that network marketing is not a “get rich quick” business. However, you have to give you new associates a way to get “in the money” as quickly as possible. By utilizing the power of the internet and affiliate marketing, you can easily make income from leads that may never join your business. This income allows your new associates to stay with network marketing long enough to enjoy the true residual income this business can offer!

Traffic Producers A good system will have complete training for new associates that will teach them how to generate tons of traffic to the landing page. There are also other types of traffic generators that are more viral in nature, and you can actually earn traffic credits for referring other users to the site. These types of programs work very well in a prospecting system.

The real power of tapping into or creating your own prospecting system is that it positions you as a leader in the eyes of the prospect. You see, Barry likes to go after Network Marketing companies. This time he has chosen Usana Health Sciences as his target. Of course Usana has fired back, and the court battle is ensuing.

Barry has made at least 7 videos as of this time and posted them on Youtube. What he did was go out and find disgruntled Usana reps and interview them. They are real tear jerker’s - people have spent tons of money on their businesses, and not made a dime. Of course Usana can point to people that have done well.

However, the facts speak for themselves, over 95% who get started with a network marketing business fail - this includes Usana and all the other top rated companies out there. Barry would like you to believe that this problem is exclusive to Usana - it is NOT!

The real problem lies in how people in any Network Marketing business are trained to build their companies. You see most MLM companies use the same tired tactics - make a names list, go to hotel meetings, bug your friends, hack off your family, purchase leads, yadah, yadah, yadah!

You see 10 years ago today he came into this world much to early. He was born 11 weeks early, topping the scales at 1 pound 10 ounces and was just 12″ long. My wife had been in the hospital for a few days before he was born.

You can imagine our shock, first time parents, and what we had imagined having a baby would be like was shattered that day.

Just 8 weeks later he was able to finally come home, weighing a whopping 4 pounds!

I really cannot put into words the blessing we have been given with him. We had many ups and downs during the 8 weeks he was in the hospital. In fact it is still hard for me to really talk about it without getting a lump in my throat.

But now to see him 10 years later. A normal healthy 10 year old boy, does well in school, and is turning out to be a serious little entrepreneur himself! He truly has been touched by the hand of God, and we thank the Lord for him everyday!

I know this is a personal post today. But I just had to share because building a business on the internet has done so much for my family. It has allowed my Wife to be a full time stay at home Mom to our three children. It gives us freedom to make decisions that we want to make for our lives!

Don’t be fooled - it is simply not that easy. If you like most people you have spent countless hours building your capture page and loading your auto-responder - then you “go live”.

Your hopes are high that the traffic to your site will start pouring in, dozens of new leads will be signing up, and your site will be an overnight success. The truth is generating traffic to your site will take time.

So how can you generate endless streams of targeted traffic to your site? The best way I know of is to create multiple streams of traffic, that is traffic from many sources - maybe just a few visitors a day from each source, but they all add up to a big bundle of targeted visitors.

I have come up with four basic tactics that everyone on my team learns to master:

1. Ebay
2. Article distribution
3. Ezine Advertising
4. PPC

The trick is to not spread yourself so thin, that you are a student of everything, but a master of nothing. Focus on one tactic until you really understand it and know how it works. Then when you have it down to where it can almost run on autopilot, move on to the next tactic.

This strategy will also help you with duplication. Once you truely understand how a traffic strategy works, you can then easily teach it to your own recruits, and they can then teach it to their team, and so on.

I also believe in having multiple streams of traffic, each stream contributing small amounts of traffic that add up to a river of new prospects coming into my profit funnel on a daily basis.

One of the ways I drive traffic to my landing page is by using Squidoo. Squidoo allows you to get an account and then build one page sites that are focused on a specific topic. These pages are called “lenses”, and can be a good source of traffic for you site.

You can do some interesting things with a lens. You can add RSS feeds, add images, add a newsletter optin form and post new articles.

The power of your lens really comes into play once it gets indexed by Google. You see Squidoo has a good page rank in Googles eyes. Once your lens gets indexed it will begin to rank high in the search engines for your keywords - so choose them wisely.

You will also need to update your lens at least once a week to keep it active. Squidoo has a ranking system, and the freshness is one of easiest ways to keep it ranked highly.

Just like article marketing, the power of your lense will build over time. So head on over to Squidoo and start building your lense today.

You see MLM really does not work this way and I saw many new associates joining me with this same thinking. The reality is that MLM is more like a marathon rather than a sprint.

In a sprint you use all your energy over a very short distance - the race is won or lost in minutes.

However, for a marathon, you need to pace yourself. The marathon is won or lost in hours, not minutes. The same applies for your MLM. As you build your team, you leverage grows at the same time. However, not everyone you sponsor will be a leader. Some may be simply interested in the products, and will not be out recruiting.

So how to you pace yourself, like running a marathon, when building your MLM business? The bottom line is that you and your associates really need to see some financial reward to keep interested. The easiest way is to create a funded proposal system for you and your team.

This system allows you to generate your own leads. Not only that it allows you to earn money quickly, just like running a sprint, which is a good incentive to keep everyone interested in the business! It allows you to make cash today, and build your MLM business slowly - just like running a marathon.

Listen, the rules of MLM have changed. Gone are the days of hotel meetings, cold calling lead lists and bugging your friends. Today you have the ability to truely leverage your time. You have the ability to prospect 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

How?

The internet baby, the INTERNET!

Here is just a quick example. I took off with my family for a week of pure vacation. I only turned the laptop on two times, once to email my father some pictures, and the other to place a new recruit in my organization.

I had never spoken to this new member. He had came into my “funnel”, purchased my ebook, and signed up on my team a few days later.

On top of enrolling this new associate, I also generated 52 new leads. These are now in my funnel. Learning about me, learning about my system - I am building a relationship with them, and it all started when I was “on vacation”.

You see my marketing system works 24 hours a day 7 days a week, even when I am not in front of my computer. This is how you can build true leverage into your network marketing organization. This is how you can generate 10 to 15 new leads a day, and sponsor 15 to 20 new associates a month, all without ever picking up the phone.

One of my favorite ways of generating leads for my business is to use Ebay. The massive amount of traffic that Ebay receives can really lead to huge leverage, and huge traffic for your business.

The easiest way to get started is to assemble a simple report. This report needs to be specific and fill a need that your prospects have. For instance, if you sell a diet supplement for your MLM business, you could produce a report that describes your product and how it can help your prospect drop the pounds. It should be educational in nature, and not just push your product relentlessly.

Once you have it written simply convert it to a PDF document so it can be automatically delivered to the purchaser. Ebay allows you to sell digital products, and has a way to provide a link to the buyer once they have made payment.

Once it is done, you can simply start placing auctions. Think about the keywords that people would use to find your product and then include them in your title.

Once the auction is complete, forward the customer to a squeeze page to collect thier name and email, and then deliver the ebook. You now have a lead for your product - that you can market to over and over again!

Of course, you can use this same technique for people that are looking for a home business - and watch your downline grow!

I believe in using multiple strategies, each driving a bit of traffic, to all add up to an avalanche of visitors to my web site. The more visitors you have, the subscribers you will get, and the more new associates will join your business.

I love to use article distribution to drive a continuous drip of traffic to my site. Even better is the residual leverage these articles will drive for years to come. Hey, as an MLM’er, you gotta love residual, right?

Why do articles drive residual traffic? You see when you submit an article to a directly like Ezinearticles.com you are allowed to place a resource box at the end of your article - this can also be called a bio box. In this text you can place links back to your site or any page you would like - I typically stick with my lead capture page.

These article directories allow webmasters and ezine publishers to pick these articles up and republish these on their sites or in their newsletters. The catch is that they have to include your bio box and the links back to your site.

Over time you article could potentially be picked up by dozens of sites, all driving traffic back to yours - forever. Did you read that? FOREVER!

The articles you distribute today, could easily be sending you traffic for many years to come. So get busy today, write some articles and get them distributed!
