A FEW QUESTIONS FROM THE FAQ

SO, WHAT'S A LENS?

A lens is one person's view on a topic that matters to her. It's an easy-to-build, single web page that can point to blogs, favorite links, RSS feeds, Flickr photos, Google maps, your eBay auctions, CafePress designs, Amazon books or music, and oh so much more. That way, when someone is looking for recommended information, fast, your lens gets him started and sends him off in the right direction. Hooray for you!

Build one lens, build a hundred. It's fast, fun, and free. (And you could earn a royalty from each one--for you or for charity). What are you waiting for!

WHY SHOULD I BUILD A LENS?

Great question! Here are just a few reasons to get you creative muses flowing:

• Share the knowledge: When you know a lot about something, it feels good to share. Help other people discover what you found out the hard way.

• Increase your profile: A popular lens gives credibility to the Lensmaster. A popular lens reinforces your role as an "everyday expert." And a popular lens makes you the go-to authority for those looking for help.

• Increase your traffic: Your lens points (if you want it to) to your blog and to your website. Lenses have huge credibility with search engines, so your lens can help your other sites rise to the top of Google searches.

• Earn a royalty for you, your organization, or your favorite charity. Think of the royalty as a bonus--and don't quit your dayjob yet! A single lens might not earn a lot, but if you imagine hundreds of lenses working to your favor, or fundraising for a charity, it can really start to add up.

::: Woopidoo> Business Masters Home> Bill Gates

1. Bill Gates is one of the most influential people in the world. He is cofounder of one of the most recognized brands in the computer industry with nearly every desk top computer using at least one software program from Microsoft. According to the Forbes magazine, Bill Gates is the richest man in the world and has held the number one position for many years.

2. Gates was born and grew up in Seattle, Washington USA. His father, William H. Gates II was a Seattle attorney and his mother, Mary Maxwell Gates was a school teacher and chairperson of the United Way charity. Gates and his two sisters had a comfortable upbringing, with Gates being able to attend the exclusive secondary "Lakeside School".

3. Bill Gates started studying at Harvard University in 1973 where he spent time with Paul Allen. Gates and Allen worked on a version of the programming language BASIC, that was the basis for the MITS Altair (the first microcomputer available). He did not go on to graduate from Harvard University as he left in his junior year to start what was to become the largest computer software company in the world; Microsoft Corporation.

4. Bill Gates and the Microsoft Corporation
"To enable people and businesses throughout the world to realize their full potential." Microsoft Mission Statement
After dropping out of Harvard Bill Gates and his partner Paul Allen set about revolutionizing the computer industry. Gates believed there should be a computer on every office desk and in every home.

5. In 1975 the company Micro-soft was formed, which was an abbreviation of microcomputer software. It soon became simply "Microsoft"® and went on to completely change the way people use computers.

6. Microsoft helped to make the computer easier to use with its developed and purchased software, and made it a commercial success. The success of Microsoft began with the MS-DOS computer operating system that Gates licensed to IBM. Gates also set about protecting the royalties that he could acquire from computer software by aggressively fighting against all forms of software piracy, effectively creating the retail software market that now exists today. This move was quite controversial at the time as it was the freedom of sharing that produced much innovation and advances in the newly forming software industry. But it was this stand against software piracy, that was to be central in the great commercial success that Microsoft went on to achieve.

7. Bill Gates retired as Microsoft CEO in 2008.

Bill Gates Criticism

a) With his great success in the computer software industry also came many criticisms. With his ambitious and aggressive business philosophy, Gates or his Microsoft lawyers have been in and out of courtrooms fighting legal battles almost since Microsoft began.

b) The Microsoft monopoly sets about completely dominating every market it enters through either acquisition, aggressive business tactics or a combination of them. Many of the largest technology companies have fought legally against the actions of Microsoft, including Apple Computer, Netscape, Opera, WordPerfect, and sun Microsystems.

c) Microsoft hasn't just made Bill Gates very wealthy though. According to the Forbes business magazine in 2004 Paul Allen, Microsoft cofounder was the 5th richest man in the world with an estimated $21 billion. While Bill Gates' long time friend and Microsoft CEO, Steve Ballmer was the 19th richest man in the world at $12.4 billion.

Bill Gates Philanthropy

1. Being the richest man in the world has also enabled Gates to create one of the world's largest charitable foundations. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has an endowment of more than $28 billion, with donations totaling more than $1 billion every year. The foundation was formed in 2000 after merging the "Gates Learning Foundation" and "William H. Gates Foundation". Their aim is to "bring innovations in health and learning to the global community".

2. Bill Gates continues to play a very active role in the workings of the Microsoft Company, but has handed the position of CEO over to Steve Ballmer. Gates now holds the positions of "Chairman" and "Chief Software Architect". He has started that he plans to take on fewer responsibilities at Microsoft and will eventually devote all his time to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

3. In 2006, the second richest man in the world, Warren Buffett pledged to give much of his vast fortune to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

4. Bill Gates Receives a KBE
In March 2005 William H. Gates received an "honorary" knighthood from the queen of England. Gates was bestowed with the KBE Order (Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) for his services in reducing poverty and improving health in the developing countries of the world.
After the privately held ceremony in Buckingham Palace with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Gates commented on the recognition..

5. "I am humbled and delighted. I am particularly pleased that this honor helps recognize the real heroes our foundation (Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation) supports to improve health in poor countries. Their incredible work is helping ensure that one day all people, no matter where they are born, will have the same opportunity for a healthy life, and I'm grateful to share this honor with them."

6. The KBE Order of the British Empire is the second highest Order given out, but it is only an honorary knighthood as only citizens that are British or a part of the Commonwealth receive the full Order. This means that Gates does not become Sir Bill Gates.

7. Bill Gates lives near Lake Washington with his wife Melinda French Gates and their three children. Interests of Gates include reading, golf and playing bridge.

BILL GATES QUOTES:

1. Like almost everyone who uses e-mail, I receive a ton of spam every day. Much of it offers to help me get out of debt or get rich quick. It would be funny if it weren't so exciting.
Bill Gates - Internet - Funny - Rich

2. Is the rich world aware of how four billion of the six billion live? If we were aware, we would want to help out, we'd want to get involved.
Bill Gates - Philanthropy - Life - Rich - Helping

3. Information technology and business are becoming inextricably interwoven. I don't think anybody can talk meaningfully about one without the talking about the other.
Bill Gates - Internet - Technology - Business

4. Your most unhappy customers are your greatest source of learning.
Bill Gates - Customers - Learning

5. I think it's fair to say that personal computers have become the most empowering tool we've ever created. They're tools of communication, they're tools of creativity, and they can be shaped by their user.
Bill Gates - Internet - Technology - Products

6. The Internet will help achieve "friction free capitalism" by putting buyer and seller in direct contact and providing more information to both about each other.
Bill Gates - Internet - Capitalism - Customers

7. They say a year in the Internet business is like a dog year.. equivalent to seven years in a regular person's life. In other words, it's evolving fast and faster.

Warren Buffett Biography

Buffett was born in Omaha, Nebraska,on August 30, 1930 to Howard Buffett, a stockbroker and United States Representative, and Leila Buffett. The only boy, he was the second of three children, and displayed an amazing aptitude for both money and business at a very early age.

At only six years old, Buffett purchased 6-packs of Coca Cola from his grandfather's grocery store for twenty five cents and resold each of the bottles for a nickel, pocketing a five cent profit. While other children his age were playing hopscotch and jacks, Warren was making money.

He began working at his father's brokerage at the age of 11, and that same year made his first stock purchase, buying Cities Services shares for $38 each for both himself and his older sister, Doris.

Shortly after buying the stock, it fell to just over $27 per share. A frightened but resilient Warren held his shares until they rebounded to $40. He promptly sold them - a mistake he would soon come to regret. Cities Service shot up to $200. The experience taught him one of the basic lessons of investing: patience is a virtue. At the age of 14 he spent $1,200 he had saved up from two paper routes to buy 40 acres of farmland which he then rented to tenant farmers.

Warren Buffett's Education

Buffett initially attended the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, then
transferred to the University of Nebraska. There he began his interest in investing after reading Benjamin Graham's The Intelligent Investor. He obtained a Master's degree in economics in 1951 at Columbia Business School, studying under Benjamin Graham, alongside other future value investors including Walter Schloss and Irving Kahn.

Another influence on Buffett's investment philosophy was the well known investor and writer Philip Fisher. After receiving the only A+ Benjamin Graham ever handed out to a student in his security analysis class, Buffett wanted to work at Graham-Newman but was initially turned down.

He went to work at his father's brokerage as a salesman until Graham offered him a position in 1954. Buffett returned to Omaha two years later, when Graham retired.

Warren Buffett was born on 30 August 1930 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was the second of three children. As a child, he worked in his grandfather's store. (All pictures courtesy of Susie Buffett.)

Warren Buffett's business talents emerged in high school, when he and a friend bought a second-hand pinball machine for $25 and put it in a barber's shop. They soon added two more in other locations.

Warren Buffett and Susie Thompson were married at a ceremony in Omaha on 19 April 1952. The following year, Susie gave birth to their first child, Susan Alice Buffett.

The Buffett family soon grew, with the addition of two sons. Howard Graham Buffett was born in 1954, while their third child, Peter Andrew Buffett, arrived four years later.

Warren Buffett and his wife began living apart in 1977, but stayed married until her death in July 2004. Their daughter Susie, who lives in Omaha, does charity work through the Susan A Buffett Foundation.

WHERE THERE IS A WILL THERE'S A WAY

2009-10-13T22:52:00.007-04:00

THIS IS MY PERSONAL DIARY OF THE STEPS I'M TAKING TO MAKING MONEY ONLINE.

1. THE FIRST THING I DID WAS SIGN UP WITH CLICKBANK.COM

The only reason I ever discovered this in the first place was because I got a free trial offer on a course to making money online. READ CAREFULLY: You don't need it! Anything you ever need to know is free. I returned it of course, I was going to end up being charged monthly for something I can do for free. www.clickbank.com is an affiliate site as well as www.paydotcom.com, and www.commissionjunction.com

An affiliate is you. If you don't have any products that you can sell or promote this is where these sites come in very handy. You pick a product to promote, get an affiliate referral code, and when someone clicks on that product to buy, you will get commission on that sale. One other step you need to take is building traffic to where you are promoting the product. Whether it be on your blog or your website. I don't have a website so i decided to go the blogging route. Other blogs I've used is www.wordpress.com

2. THE SECOND THING I DID AND DISCOVERED WAS FORUMS.

Forums are an exceptional way to learn everything you need to know for free about making money online and from home for free. I can't stress this enough, you absolutely don't ever have to pay for anything to ever start making money online.

Hey other people do but if your reading this than you don't have to worry about falling for it. There are tons and tons of useful, legit, free information that you can use to building your career online, if that's your passion, like it is mine.

To me forums have been the key to unlocking information you would never find anywhere else for free. Forums are every where actually. They are on myspace, facebook, twitter, clickbank and paydotcom.com also have forums. They are everywhere.
These are some forums I love to participate in.
www.squidu.com/forum
www.whydowork.com/forums
www.itsfree.proboards.com
www.forums.cashcrate.com

Affiliate Marketing Forum

3. THE THIRD THING I DISCOVERED WAS SQUIDOO.COM

I love squidoo. It's so much fun. They also have a forum that you can participate and gain valuable knowledge on traffic, seo, etc, etc. Squidoo is great because you can make lenses. Lenses are like making web pages, but they call it lenses instead. You can make them on and about anything you love, or like to talk about and all at the same time make money. If you would like to get an idea of what it's like and how simple it is look at my page.www.squidoo.com/symphony-no5

There is allot to learn, there isn't any easy way in doing anything online to making money. Anything that looks to good to be true IT IS! It takes time to build a solid foundation, all you need is the drive, the thirst to make it work and eventually you will. There's no such thing as get rich quick. If they claim it is it's a scam.

4. THE FOURTH THING I DID WAS I GOT AN ADSENSE ACCOUNT WITH GOOGLE.

I'm still fairly new at this step so there's not allot I'm going to say about it, I don't want to mislead anyone, but there is a definite potential on making money with google adsense as well as with google adwords. I'm staying away from google adwords until i gain thorough knowledge on everything I'm trying to accomplish online. However here if you are curious please refer to google.com and then click on the advertisement link underneath the search box, and that will lead you straight to exactly where you have to be.

5. THE FIFTH THING I'M CURRENTLY WORKING ON KNOW IS WRITING ARTICLES

This is the first thing I learned about that everyone was doing to making money online, but I didn't try it out till now because back then I was fairly knew to the info and I wasn't ready to start learning about writing articles for money. The site I'm using is www.helium.com
And please don't forget to look for their forum as well it's right in the same site.

There it is, my personal list of ways you can make money online for free. Where there is a will there's a way, anything can be possible. There are so many much more avenues that you can make, take, and create to making money online, i am not an expert so I can't list them all or talk about them all.

My intentions are that hopefully someone will run into this, and if they are interested in making money online, hopefully they will realize that it is possible, all for free. Have you ever paid a job to hire you. Same thing should apply online.
Sharing knowledge is caring and that's why I founded easy to list the steps I'm taking, knowledge should always be free, I cant count how many people have willingly helped me along the way and it's my duty to do the same in return for others.

Here's a newbie to Blogs

2009-09-29T22:42:00.000-04:00

Well where can i start. Probably where everyone else started, I dont know.. Im going to take this as an online journal. I used to write alot when i was younger. That used to be my hobby. My favorite notebooks to get were the marble notebooks with the different colors on them. I had green, blue, red, black, yellow. You name it i had it. I had a passion for notebooks, the texture of the page, the lines on the page, the smell of the notebook itself.

All i needed was a good pen to write with and i was off. What i used to write about was mostly all my crushes in highschool. I crack myself up just thinking about it now. I used to write about alot of things, especially writing in the form of poetry.

Im asking myself right now, who actually cares to read about this. Who's actually going to read this. Hmm, dont know. But i dont know if i care at the moment, only because i havent expressed my writing style since i was 18. That means i stopped writing when i was 18.

Actually i take that back. I was writing alot when i was 18,19. If i told you i was writing at 20 yrs old i wouldnt remember. I cant remember. I wonder to myself if this is just another block of blurbs on the web out of thousands and millions of other ones out there. Do i care right now. Nope. It just feels good to get this all out of my system.

Thinking to myself: t2ms: wow an online journal?. That's deep. That's taking it a to a complete different level than what i was ever used to. And guess what? I never owned a computer, let alone being on the internet was another far away dream, besides going to the library just to check my email full of webformercials. And hey dont take my word i copyrighted that lol. Other than that i was completely bored with the internet. I didnt know what to do on it but Whatch music videos on YouTube and collect favorite video's. That was all i was familiar with. I was in between 20-26 yrs old. Im 27 now.

It took me 6 yrs to figure out all the good uses the internet has to offer? Wow im slow. I take it as my mind expanding. It feels like im on a different plain level as far as the evolving mind goes. I guess it goes with that saying that says "you only see what you see when your ready to" something along those lines.. and boy what a huge awakening im having right now.

well besides the "awakening of the so called" "the secret" Ive had that awakening already, it's still in progress. Now im talking about the awakening of the internet. Well for myself atleast. A little to late? Hmm i dont know. Till this day i still dont know what a blog is, but me using one right now should tell you alot. Is ignorance abliviouse? Im i blind? Is my mind clouded?

Okay:edited: I checked my spelling and it's obliviouse. I like the definition: It says: Lacking remembrance, memory, mindfull attention. And lacking active consiouse knowledge of awarness.

I think tha's what i lack is awarness, but i progressively work on that aknowledgement. Like the aknowledgement that its ultimately easy for me to misspell words. Yea. That.

Wow i've been blabbing on and on and on. I hope i can come back and edit this into different intersections like new subjects that can turn into different blogs. Its a progressive learning as i go, that's how i like to learn. learn and go. like eat and go. I hope i can edit this later or delete it if i have any regrets.

sincerely your fellow internet user. haha
