This week I read that many of Walgreen’s customers are going to have to look for a new pharmacist to refill their medications. Last year, Walgreens and Express Script tried to negotiate a new contract and were unsuccessful. The contract expired on December 31, 2011 which has left many of Walgreen’s regular customers scrambling to find a new place to fill their prescriptions. This change has effected all of the Walgreens nationwide as well as Duane Reade pharmacies in New York Area.

My family has used the same pharmacy for years. The pharmacist even know my husband by name since he is one of their regular customers. I know my husband would be upset if he had to switch his pharmacy because of a contract. For some of the customers, having to go find a new pharmacist is not only aggravating, but can also be costly. For some customers, they may now have to drive a further distance for a refill, which could mean extra money spent on gas to get there. If you refill your prescriptions with Walgreens, you can call your pharmacist to see if your prescriptions have been affected.

Walgreens has a way to help those that might be struggling with this disruption or those without insurance that want a way to save money on their prescriptions that they pay out of pocket for. I have been looking for a way to customize the text on my blogs for months. I recently came across a neat font that allows you to use your own TruType fonts from your computer on your blog. There are tons of FREE TruType fonts you can download online free too! The AnyFont WordPress plugin allows you to replace post titles, widget titles, page titles and more with automatically generated SEO-smart images using the font you select.

Up until today, I never thought of having the option to take an image (PSD, PNG, etc) and turning it into a website. I guess since I have always designed my own websites, I never thought of the need for this type of service.

The site CodeMyConcept does exactly this. They can take your image/design and turn it into a hand coded XHTML/CSS website that is pixel perfect! I think this type of service could come in very handy for freelancers that may need some extra help getting assignments done. I am thinking this might be a great way for me to get some sites created that I have ideas for that I don’t know how to code.

In addition to XHTML/CSS websites, you can also have them design CMS or themes for platforms such as WordPress, Drupal, Magento, Joomla, etc. Now this is something I may really be interested in. I LOVE WordPress and have many blogs that could use a total makeover. This site could really be a web designer or bloggers BEST FRIEND!

So those of you that know how to design with image software, but don’t know how to code, this might be a site to bookmark!

I recently had to buy a NEW laptop because I spilled water in my other one and fried my motherboard. Now I didn’t spill the water on purpose, I was trying to avoid my 2 year old from grabbing it out of my hand when some accidentally flung out of the glass onto my keyboard. Now that I had to almost start from fresh, I need to find a graphics program to install on this new laptop.

On my old laptop, I used a few FREE graphic software programs that I downloaded online. While sometimes FREE is the most cost effective way, sometimes FREE software does not do exactly what you want it to do. So now I am shopping for a graphics software program to suite my needs. Since I am a web designer and a blogger, I am looking for something with lots of options. I want to be able to create logos, button ads, banner ads as well as edit my thousands of pictures I am always taking of my family.

So I want to ask you, what is your favorite graphics program? Do you prefer Corel or maybe Photoshop? Feel free to share what program you have or use in the comments below.

I have over a dozen blogs. Some of my blogs are within another domain so I don’t have stats just for the blog like I have wanted until now. I did not know how easy it was to install the WordPress Stats Plugin. I installed it on one of my blogs a couple days ago and within hours I had stats coming in.

If you have a self hosted WordPress blog and want some stats, try using the plugin at:
