This is an inter-institutional research project that involves subject recruitment from 4 or more community health centers across the Boston metropolitan area.  The study population includes pregnant women receiving prenatal care through several local health clinics.  The ideal individualand#x2019;s primary responsibility will be providing assistance to the Project Director with the development of questionnaires/surveys.  This will also include data quality checks, clean-ups and trouble-shooting problems as they arise.  The individual will also assist the research team with postnatal activity follow-ups when needed.  Other responsibilities may include: performing multiple data collection; scheduling follow-up appointments by phone and personal interviews; scheduling home visits for collection of allergen specimens; administering questionnaires; performing data entry and validation.  This is an opportunity to work closely with the principal investigator, study coordinator and other study staff and also gain valuable experience and exposure to the public health field.<br><br>PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<br>1. Recruitment of study participants by phone and personal interviews.  Must have sensitivity to complex medical and psychological problems of potential study participants.<br>2. Draws blood samples from participants during home visits.<br>3. Will facilitate the ascertainment of and independent review of medical records for participants at the 4 or more community health sites.<br>4. Implementing data collection effort, including recruiting and monitoring participants, reporting news and feedback to supervisors, providing information about study and outside resources to participants and participating in staff meetings and activities.  Recruitment and data collection will involve travel between the Channing Laboratory and several health centers in metropolitan Boston area.  Travel to participantsand#x2019; homes for assessment of the physical environment and collection of dust samples.<br>5. Enters and verifies data collected, using databases and protocol set up by supervisors.  Must ensure quality of data through collection and analysis periods.<br>6. Organizing data and biological samples for processing at the Channing laboratory.<br>7. Monitoring supply inventory. This includes pulling biological samples from ultra low temp liquid nitrogen freezers, labeling vials with ID number, aliquoting plasma, organization of vials into boxes, and shipment via Fed Ex including printing of shipping lists and labels labeling of tubes and shipping boxes, using appropriate software programs. This is an inter-institutional research project that involves subject recruitment from 4 or more community health centers across the Boston metropolitan area.  The study population includes pregnant women receiving prenatal care through several local health clinics.  The ideal individualand#x2019;s primary responsibility will be providing assistance to the Project Director with the development of questionnaires/surveys.  This will also include data quality checks, clean-ups and trouble-shooting problems as they arise.  The individual will also assist the research team with postnatal activity follow-ups when needed.  Other responsibilities may include: performing multiple data collection; scheduling follow-up appointments by phone and personal interviews; scheduling home visits for collection of allergen specimens; administering questionnaires; performing data entry and validation.  This is an opportunity to work closely with the principal investigator, study coordinator and other study staff and also gain valuable experience and exposure to the public health field.<br><br>PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<br>1. Recruitment of study participants by phone and personal interviews.  Must have sensitivity to complex medical and psychological problems of potential study participants.<br>2. Draws blood samples from participants during home visits.<br>3. Will facilitate the ascertainment of and independent review of medical records for participants at the 4 or more community health sites.<br>4. Implementing data collection effort, including recruiting and monitoring participants, reporting news and feedback to supervisors, providing information about study and outside resources to participants and participating in staff meetings and activities.  Recruitment and data collection will involve travel between the Channing Laboratory and several health centers in metropolitan Boston area.
