BOB COLACELLO: Did you like performing as a child? Did you always love it?

MICHAEL JACKSON: Always did. I always enjoyed the feeling of being onstage—the magic that comes. When I hit the stage it’s like all of a sudden a magic from somewhere just comes and the spirit just hits you and you just lose control of yourself. I came onstage at Quincy’s [Jones] concert at the Rose Bowl and I did not want to go onstage. I was ducking and hiding and hoping he wouldn’t see me hiding behind people when he called me on. Then I went up there and I just went crazy. I started climbing up the scaffold, the speakers, the light gear. The audience started getting into it and I started dancing and singing and that’s what happens.

COLACELLO: How do you compare acting to performing on the stage?

JACKSON: I love both. Acting is the cream of the crop. I love performing. It’s a phenomenal getaway. If you want to really let out everything you feel, that’s the time to do it. With acting, it’s like becoming another person. I think that’s neat, especially when you totally forget. If you totally forget, which I love to do, that’s when it’s magic. I love to create magic—to put something together that’s so unusual, so unexpected that it blows people’s heads off. Something ahead of the times. Five steps ahead of what people are thinking. So people see it and say, “Whoa I wasn’t expecting that.” I love surprising people with a present or a gift or a stage performance or anything. I love John Travolta, who came off that Kotter show. Nobody knew he could dance or do all those things. He is like—boom. Before he knew it, he was the next big Brando or something.

COLACELLO: He hasn’t done much lately.

JACKSON: I know. I think he’s choosing scripts and stuff. It’s always difficult for anyone trying to compete against their past achievements . . .

COLACELLO: It seems that what really motivates you is your desire to entertain people, to please people. What about fame and money? Could you imagine not being famous or does being famous bother you?

JACKSON: It never has bothered me except sometimes when you want peace. Like you go to the theater and you say, “Nobody’s bothering me tonight, I’m wearing my hat and glasses and I’m going to enjoy this film and that’s all there is to it.” You get in there and everybody’s watching and staring at you and at the climax of the film somebody taps you on the shoulder for an autograph. You just feel like you can’t get away . . .

COLACELLO: You’re very close to your parents. Do they live out here in L.A.?

JACKSON: Yes. My mother’s upstairs. My father’s at the office.

COLACELLO: What’s your typical day like?

I get up early and get ready for whatever I’ve got to do, songwriting or whatever it is. Planning the future and stuff.

COLACELLO: Are you optimistic about the future?

JACKSON: Yes. I always like to plan ahead of time and follow up . . .

COLACELLO: Do you care about fashion much?

JACKSON: No, I care about what I wear onstage. You know what I love, though? I don’t care about everyday clothes. I love putting on an outfit or a costume and just looking at myself in the mirror. Baggy pants or some real funky shoes and a hat and just feeling the character of it. That’s fun to me.

COLACELLO: You like to act a lot just in everyday life?

JACKSON: I love it so much. It’s escape. It’s fun. It’s just neat to become another thing, another person. Especially when you really believe in it and it’s not like you’re acting. I always hated the word acting—to say, “I’m an actor.” It should be more than that. It should be more like a believer.

COLACELLO: But isn’t that a little frightening when you believe it totally?

JACKSON: No, that’s what I really love about it. I just like to really forget.

COLACELLO: Why do you want to forget so much? Do you think life is really hard?

JACKSON: No, maybe it’s because I just like jumping in other people’s lives and exploring. Like Charlie Chaplin. I just love him to death. The little tramp, the whole gear and everything, and his heart—everything he portrayed on the screen was a truism. It was his whole life. He was born in London, and his father died an alcoholic when he was six. He roamed the streets of England, begging, poor, hungry. All this reflects on the screen and that’s what I like to do, to bring all of those truths out . . .

COLACELLO: Do you sometimes feel as though you missed out on childhood because you’ve always been performing in the adult world?

JACKSON: Sometimes.

COLACELLO: But you like people older than yourself, experienced people.

JACKSON: I love experienced people. I love people who are phenomenally talented. I love people who’ve worked so hard and been so courageous and are the leaders in their fields. For me to meet somebody like that and learn from them and share words with them—to me that’s magic. To work together. I’m crazy about Steven Spielberg. Another inspiration for me, and I don’t know where it came from, is children. If I’m down, I’ll take a book with children’s pictures and look at it and it will just lift me up. Being around children is magic . . .

COLACELLO: Are you interested in art?

JACKSON: I love to draw—pencil, ink pen—I love art. When I go on tour and visit museums in Holland, Germany or England—you know those huge paintings?—I’m just amazed. You don’t think a painter could do something like that. I can look at a piece of sculpture or a painting and totally lose myself in it. Standing there watching it and becoming part of the scene. It can draw tears, it can touch you so much. See, that’s where I think the actor or performer should be—to touch that truth inside of the person. Touch that reality so much that they become a part of what you’re doing and you can take them anywhere you want to. You’re happy, they’re happy. Whatever the human emotions, they’re right there with you. I love realism. I don’t like plastics. Deep down inside we’re all the same. We all have the same emotions and that’s why a film like E.T. touches everybody. Who doesn’t want to fly like Peter Pan? Who doesn’t want to fly with some magic creature from outer space and be friends with him? Steven went straight to the heart. He knows—when in doubt, go for the heart . . .

RadioCaley.com tooks Chris Jericho interview and discussed with him a
number of interesting topics. Here are some of the highlights:

On whether or not he has anything left to do after being in a successful band, wrestling at the top, etc.:
"It's funny, because I never really looked at it as some big laudnry
list of things to do. I mean, the only things I wanted to do when I was a
kid was I wanted to be in a rock and roll band and I wanted to be a
wrestler -- you know, entertainers. That's kind of what I realized I was
early, early on in my career. I'm not this, I'm not that, I'm just an
entertainer.

"Anything that falls within those boundaries that I feel I can do to
the best of my abilities, I'm going to do it. I'm going to give it a
try and I'm going to make it work. So, yeah, it's kind of cool to have
you list all of those things. I've done a lot of s--t in my time which
is cool. But it also comes from the same place of wanting to entertain
people and wanting to be a showman."

On what he does with his free time when he has it:
"Just spend as much time at home with my family as I can. I'm always
doing something, there are always a lot of projects that are dumped in
my lap. And I don't accept everything that I get, believe me. Some
times, things come up that you just can't say no to and other times
things come up that you can't say yes to.

"So, whenever I do have free time, I just like staying home and
spending time with my kids and that's the balance. I make it work. When
I'm at home, it's kid time and nothing else, nothing else matters. I
work hard when I'm on the road and work harder when I'm at home to be
the best dad I can be."

On doing a spoken-word piece entitled 'Rock Stars Say The Funniest
Things' in London: "Yeah, that was an idea that was presented to me by
our booking agency. They got myself, Scotty Inman and Duff McKagan to do
three separate shows on three separate nights to do basic spoken-word
performances. It's something I've really wanted to do for a while and
I'm really looking forward to it. I don't really have a script, per say,
in mind.

"I've done a lot of Q&As in the past and I love that side of
things. So, I'm going to go out there with a few ideas but I'm just
going to go with the audience. We'lll do Q&As and I'll tell stories.
I think it's going to be a lot of fun. I've written two New York Times
bestselling books, two London Times bestselling books of all the
experiences that I've had. I'm working on my third one right now. All of
those experiences are very, very entertaining whether they're good or
bad. I'm not going to hold anything back.

"If you have a question, I'm going to answer it and I'm going to
tell you the story of what you want to hear. People are excited about it
because everyone wants to be involved. You know, if I could ask Paul
McCartney one question knowing that he would answer, what would I ask
him? I think it's going to be a great night and the first of many. I'm
really looking forward to it and I'm very excited about it."

On performing in Scotland and partying with Scottish wrestler Drew McIntyre:
"They really do (know how to party), they absolutely do. Scottish can
out-party the Irish every time. We went out a couple of months ago and
we were in Abu Dhabi, I was with Drew McIntyre who's a Scottish guy in
the WWE. We met a bunch of Irish guys and the Canadian and the Scot guy
killed the Irish at drinking. It was awesome. We killed them, it was an
annihilation. It was like, ah, the commonwealth. Scotland and Canada win
every time. So, we're excited to bring that attitude to Glasgow."

On what Drew McIntyre has to do to reach the potential many see in him:
"Just be patient. It's the same thing I went through and a lot of times
in the WWE, they go through fazes with guys they do stuff with. You
know, you just gotta be patient and know that bigger and better things
are coming. Don't lose sight of what's going on and know that things
don't just happen quickly a lot of the times. That's good.

"He's going to do just fine, it's just a matter of finding the right
thing for him to do and you gotta have a good attitude. Just work as
hard as you can with whatever it is that you're given."

On what will come first: his new book, another
Fozzy album or a return to Monday Night Raw: "Well, there won't be a
return to Monday Night Raw anytime soon. My whole schedule now is based
around Fozzy. So, I think probably -- the book is what we're working on
now and we're already writing songs for the next record. So, I'd say
those two are probably going to happen before I ever come back to the
WWE. And if I do come back to the WWE, it's just going to be for a short
term, that's just the way it is now.

"If Fozzy's taking a break making a new record, maybe I'll come
back. But, until then, wrestling is kind of the last thing on my plate.
I've got so many other things going on. Most of it is Fozzy at this
point in time and that's the way I want it."

On whether or not he enjoyed his matches with Dolph Ziggler:
"Yeah, I enjoyed them. I think I'd like to have more of them with him
to kind of get more inside of his head. We only had two matches and you
can never really get a feel for someone but I got an idea of what he's
all about. He's good, he needs to learn more. Hopefully, I get to work
more with him in the future. But, he definitely has a lot of potential."

Snapshot of interview took by interviewmagzine.com

INTERVIEW: You got two tattoos in Japan. What's the one on your inner arm that you got in Osaka?
LADY GAGA: That one commemorates my favorite writer, Rainer Maria
Rilke, a poet and romantic philosopher. In German he writes, "Confess to
yourself in the deepest hour of the night whether you would have to die
if you were forbidden to write. Dig deep into your heart, where the
answer spreads its roots in your being, and ask yourself solemnly, Must I
write?"

INTERVIEW: What about the second love tattoo on your shoulder, the one you got in Tokyo?
LADY GAGA: That was to celebrate the Haus's collaboration with
legendary Japanese photographer Araki. I was bound by Araki's personal
bondage artist, by several ropes and Japanese knots, and through a
visceral bondage and sexual-torture experience, Araki photographed me,
using a series of several cameras. He did not photograph my image; he
photographed my soul. We spent the night with Araki and his friends at a
members' only bar he's owned fo
r more than 20 years, where he displays
his work. Here, he painted me and took Polaroids through the night. I
was honored to be the first American woman he's photographed, and only
the second pop artist, in the company of Björk. He signed the Polaroids
"Tokyo Love," and the Haus got tattoos of his marking in celebration.

INTERVIEW: Lady Gaga fans are some of the most obsessive out there right now. How do you relate to them?
LADY GAGA: I love my little monsters. Now I live and create only for them.

Source: islandmotivation.com

MITCHELL: There’s a point in Tyson when you talk about your
frame of mind before a fight. When you were in the dressing room getting
ready to go out, you’d be afraid. But the closer you got to the ring,
the more confident you got.
TYSON: Well, because being in the ring became my reality, and, in my reality, I’d think I was someone special.

MITCHELL: But you were something special.
TYSON: But that’s the frame of mind I had back then. When I was
young, I thought I was a god. Now, I just basically work on staying
humble. My priorities changed. Just to be able to try to change
them—that was frightening to me.

MITCHELL: It seems, though, like fear has been something that’s motivated you.
TYSON: Fear and the thought of failure . . . But we don’t really know
what fear is. Fear is something that we create in our own minds. Fear
could be like fire. You can use it to heat you up, keep you warm, cook
your food. There are so many things you can use it for. But if you allow
it to go out of control, it will destroy you and everything around you.

MITCHELL: So you’re talking about this combination of fear and discipline.
TYSON: Exactly. Discipline is doing what you hate to do but doing it
like you love it. But with fear, it’s not so much about learning how to
use it but how to embrace it.

MITCHELL: Did [Tyson’s first trainer] Cus D’Amato help you recognize how to deal with that?
TYSON: Oh, 100 percent. I never knew anything about that stuff until
Cus brought it to my attention—that it was healthy to feel fear. If you
didn’t feel it, then you were either crazy or you were a liar. Because
it’s unnatural to fight somebody who has nothing against you and never
did anything to you or to your family, who never stole anything from
you. And now you’ve got to go and try to dismantle this guy . . . It
takes -discipline to do that.

MITCHELL: What was always so much fun about watching you fight is
that you would propel yourself off the balls of your feet to hit
somebody. We’re used to seeing heavyweights kind of move in and twist
their body into the punch. But you would throw yourself into it, almost
like it was a street fight.
TYSON: Well, I was blessed with speed and a good punch. Everybody
thinks I’m the hardest puncher ever. But I just think I was really fast,
and my punches got to the target faster. That’s what made my knockouts
always seem spectacular.

MITCHELL: You don’t think you were one of the hardest punchers?
TYSON: I do think I was a very hard puncher, but I was also a
very accurate puncher if I hit you on certain spots and stuff . . .
Guys like George Foreman could hit you in the back or on the side of the
head or behind the ears and knock you out. But most of the heavyweight
guys were so much bigger than me.

MITCHELL: So your strategy was to get up in your opponents’ faces and try to get to them as quickly as possible?
TYSON: Yes. You have to be consistent if you want to break their
spirit, their will. Because that’s really what fighting is about . . .
People see it as a physical contact sport, but it’s not. It’s really a
spiritual one of will against will. Who wants it the most? How much is
he willing to take—and dish out—to get it? It’s like fighting is 10
percent physical and 90 percent emotional.

MITCHELL: I remember you saying that you had mastered the art of skulduggery.
TYSON: Yeah. I was an emotional manipulator of fighters . . . You
have to know how to be cold, you know? Just have no -emotions, no
feelings. It takes time, though, to develop that. I’d been working on
that since I was 12 years old. It doesn’t happen overnight. My objective
was to hurt the other fighters. I wanted to hurt them. I
wanted to be merciless. Man, I was a wild thing. . . It’s kind of a
drug, a rush. But that’s just how I was as a kid . . . It’s funny,
because Cus was always saying that Ali was better than anybody because
he controlled his emotions and his fears. Ali was just an emotional
juggernaut.
In an interview with Elvis Mitchell (interviewmagazine) Mike Tyson talks about many things,

ELVIS MITCHELL: One of the things that amazed me about the Jim Toback
documentary is the part when you talk about having asthma. I mean, you
basically went into the ring every time with the idea of trying to win
the fight quickly because you were afraid that you wouldn’t be able to
breathe. It’s interesting, too, how you were talking about having these
memories of being in the hospital as a kid. What’s your first memory of
that?
MIKE TYSON: Asthma? Couldn’t breathe one day. I was real young. I don’t know how old I was—probably about three.

MITCHELL: And you had an attack and needed to go to the hospital or something?
TYSON: Yeah.

MITCHELL: It was interesting to see in the documentary how you were actually kind of a shy, sensitive kid.
TYSON: Yeah, this is true. But that quickly changed when my parents
moved into this neighborhood called Brownsville, Brooklyn, which was
just totally different than the neighborhood we lived in before. The
people in Brownsville were very aggressive. It was like a dog-eat-dog
world. So I had to get familiar with it.

MITCHELL: You’ve talked about how other kids were robbing people and stuff.
TYSON: Yeah. I was just a little kid, and I watched these guys . . .
They would come back around the neighborhood later, and -people would
be slappin’ them five and talking about what they did. Or the older
criminals would say what they should have done. It was like they’d come
back and have a press conference. [laughs] I was like, Wow. This is exciting!

MITCHELL: Do you feel like you ever really got over your -shyness at all?
TYSON: I don’t know. Maybe a little.

MITCHELL: Because you still seem like you’re kind of reticent about talking in a lot of ways.
TYSON: I don’t know. I don’t feel much like talking about my past. I can’t believe I was expressing it on tape like I did.

MITCHELL: But when you were fighting, you talked about yourself more,
and in different kinds of ways, than any other boxer I can remember.
TYSON: Muhammad Ali was pretty open with the public.

MITCHELL: But still, it was like there were two different Alis. There
was the Ali who was the showman, and then there was the guy he was with
his squad, with the Black Muslims. But you kind of opened up every
aspect of your life to people.
TYSON: I don’t know. It’s just who I am.

MITCHELL: I was talking to Jim about your reaction at Cannes after Tyson
screened there last year and the film got a 10-minute standing ovation.
He said that he felt like you were of two minds about it. Do you
remember what you were thinking at the time?
TYSON: Yeah. I was thinking, What the hell am I doing here? It was
just something new to me. I’d never dealt with movies from that
perspective—being a participant, so to speak.

MITCHELL: But Jim told me that you were also saying that you were suspicious of all the white people accepting you.
TYSON: I was just saying that those were my thoughts that I was
having at the time . . . I would look to sabotage something because it
was going so good. When things go so good like that, normally my old
self would sabotage it.
In this CM Punk interview Arda Ocal asks many things to him,

On where being on the cover of WWE 13 ranks in his career:
"I think it's right up there near the top. Every kid's dream is to be
in a video game. Being on the cover is that much better, you know? It's
very, very cool."
"...I'm not as big (of a gamer) as most, but when you are in the video
game, you tend to play them. THQ/WWE games are always awesome. Being on
the cover, I sort of get a free copy. So, it's fun to play."

On whether or not John Cena will go down as his greatest rival:
"I mean, so far, yeah. If my career ended tomorrow because of the
Madden curse and all, I think people would look back and say John Cena
was my best opponent. And, honestly, vice versa, you know. I think the
story of John Cena and C.M. Punk is captivating. Once the dust settles
and you look back on everything, to me, it's this era's Hogan-Savage.
It's Bret-Shawn."
On who he models his style after most: "I think it's an
amalgamation of a lot of the guys I like. There's a little bit of Piper
in there, there's a lot of Terry Funk when you look at it.
"I grew up a wrestling fan. So, to be doing what my 'heros' where doing when I was a kid -- it's fun. I have fun out there."
On whether or not facing The Rock at Royal Rumble would be the biggest match of his career:
"Yeah, it could be but I look forward to things like that. I set goals
and I like to reach them and accomplish new things. You do
the same ol'
thing each day, week in and week out, it gets boring. I'm all about new
opponents, new challenges.
"If me vs. The Rock is the biggest match of my career, then I have
something to look forward to. I have something to get out of bed for in
the morning. That's something that motivates me in the gym. I have
something that motivates me in the ring, to get better -- to be better
-- in the ring. So, that when I face The Rock I am the best."
On how he stays fresh and entertaining during a lengthy title reign:
"I think I'm fortunate enough to be cognisant of a lot of different
aspects of our business. I have my finger firmly on the pulse of what
our fans want and don't want. I think I can reinvent myself to fit
certain needs. I'm versatile that way.
It's either now or never."
Emma Watson on what acting in her new film, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, made her realize about her career…
“Making this movie was so pivotal for me because I realized I do really want to be an actress, which wasn’t something I fully knew, since Harry Potter
was such a singular experience. Obviously I’m nervous to see what other
people think, but it kind of doesn’t matter to me. It’s so cheesy to
say this, but it’s the journey, not the end goal, that’s important.”

Emma Watson on her obsession with Lena Dunham…
“I am literally obsessed with Lena Dunham. She’s, like, my favorite person in the
world. I follow her on Twitter; I read her every day. And, yes, Girls is an example of something so refreshing because it feels real.”

Emma Watson on keeping her university life out of the spotlight…
“I just—I don’t know. I just feel like if I start opening the door to
talking about my university experience, then people just kind of…own
everything. There was a lot of stuff a couple of years ago saying that I
was bullied at Brown and awful things like that, none of which were
true. But it’s my personal experience and it’s my personal life…and I
would just go crazy if I didn’t have a reality, if I didn’t have a life
outside of the roles I play. The entertainment industry is pretty nuts,
and having had that experience outside of it and going to university has
really made a big difference. It’s important to me to feel like I have
my own life.”

Emma Watson on the paparazzi, and being caught kissing someone at Coachella…
“I know! My friend got me tickets for my birthday, and what am I going
to say? No, I’m not going to go, because I don’t want to be
photographed? But it was a huge crowd, and I thought there was no way
anyone could get pictures of me, but somehow they found me. It’s
difficult on my dating life, because anyone I get photographed with is
automatically my boyfriend. So it just makes it look as if I’ve had,
like, 6,000 boyfriends!”

Emma Watson on working with a stylist…
“Yeah, I have to at this point. When I was younger, I used to do it all
myself, but I’ve had to get help because it’s gotten to a stage where I
can’t show up in my Converses or whatever I bought from High Street. And
just practically, these gowns are ridiculous. You’re being photographed
from every angle, so not only do you have to consider how the thing
looks, but whetheryou’re going to be able to sit in it and whether
people are going to be able to see up your skirt.”

Emma Watson on growing out her hair versus keeping it short…
“I have to for roles. But if I had it my way, I would have just kept it
short forever. Of course, men like long hair. There’s no two ways about
it. The majority of the boys around me were like, “Why did you do that?
That’s such an error.” And I was like, “Well, honestly, I don’t really
care what you think!” I’ve never felt so confident as I did with short
hair—I felt really good in my own skin.”

Vince McMohan, the chairman of WWE has recently interviewed by hollywoodreporter. Here is highlights of it,

The Hollywood Reporter (THR): You started on USA, moved to another network and then returned to USA …
Vince McMahon: We became the No. 1 show on USA. And they wouldn't be No. 1 right now in primetime if not for Raw.
We switched one time to what became the Spike network and became the
No. 1 show there. We have proved that we can pretty much make TV
networks.

THR: WWE and your performers have started using Twitter more.
McMahon: Back in the early days, our performers
elicited a response -- a boo or a cheer. Today, we use all this social
media. We are going to do Tout, in which the WWE just invested. With
that, you get a 15-second video shout-out that goes straight to our TV
programs. Beginning with the 1,000th show, people can participate in
terms of the types of matches and what actually happens on air. It will
be the most interactive TV programming in the world.

THR: Over the years, you had ups and downs. You had the Monday night ratings wars with WCW, for example.

wwe.com

McMahon: Ted Turner was a bit of a battle [when he
bought the World Championship Wrestling circuit]. Ted was part of Time
Warner; that was difficult to compete with. But perseverance is
extremely important in life and in business. The other guys got tired of
traveling each and every week to do TV. They just didn't have the same
passion we do. They were working for a paycheck. It was only a matter of
time until they burned out.

THR: Why has so much of your talent, like The Rock, gone on to film careers?
McMahon: Our talent is taught not to be prima
donnas, to be on time and know their lines. And quite frankly, people in
Hollywood, once they see what we do, they are amazed. Our talent
doesn't demand the biggest trailer or a certain amount of grape juice or
whatever the hell it is. Our talent is extremely flexible and knows how
to act, so it's a logical extension for them.

THR: UFC gets big pay-per-view numbers. How do you stack up against them?
McMahon: We're in show business, they are a sport.
Their ratings are abysmal. They are in the pay-per-view business, and
they do reasonably well there. We just set a record for WrestleMania. We had 1.3 million buys for this year's WrestleMania, and our pay-per-view numbers for our shows have been up 30 percent since then. So, we are looking pretty good.

THR: Are you going to watch the Olympics?
McMahon: I consider our business the Olympics, and
it doesn't just happen every few years, but every night. My favorite
part will be the closing ceremonies. That means the Olympics are over,
and everyone will settle down and Raw, Smackdown! [on Syfy] and WWE will have more prominence.

ESPN.COM interviews Big Show,

"WWE 13" revolves around the Attitude Era, which you helped shape
back in the day. What is it about that time period that makes for a
perfect video game?

The Big Show: The Attitude Era was so great because you had
the best collection of superstars of any one time period. You had The
Rock, Stone Cold, Undertaker, Mick Foley ... all of these guys are
legends, but it wasn’t just about the top of the card. We had house
shows where you had Rock versus Stone Cold, you had Triple H versus Mick
Foley, The Undertaker against Kane, The New Age Outlaws versus LOD,
Edge and Christian against Jeff and Matt Hardy, and Big Show against
Mark Henry in a bodyslam match. That might sound like a dream card, but
that’s a card we ran almost every weekend. We would have sold out show
after sold out show, no tickets available, because we had such
incredible superstars who were really established as characters, and
everyone couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next.

Do you have a favorite memory from the Attitude Era?

My favorite memory happened after the show would end. The Rock would
bring his guitar to the ring and Stone Cold would sing and everyone
would spend the night BSing, then they would break out The Rock Bottom
or the Stone Cold Stunner to end the night. These guys were just so
entertaining, but the main difference is that in the Attitude Era, there
weren’t as many rules. We weren’t so corporate, we weren’t in the PG
era, so back then, it was more of that crazy, rock and roll atmosphere.
That’s the big difference about the Attitude Era -- it was just really
out there, rock and roll.

They actually show the TV ratings in the video game to compare
Raw’s ratings to WCW Nitro’s. Everyone always talks about how toxic that
WCW locker room was at the time, but you were there. Was WCW really as
screwed up behind-the-scenes as it is made out to be?
I think it got too big for its britches too quick. We had the NWO and we
were beating the WWE in ratings, but then I started to see the
infrastructure start to break down. My contract was up, and a lot of the
more seasoned and experienced guys told me that I needed to go to New
York, that I needed to go to WWE in order to take the next steps in my
career and really make my mark. It was about then, WWE started killing
WCW in the ratings and WCW caved in on itself.

What was the atmosphere like back then when it seemed like every
week, you had guys jumping from WWE to WCW or from WCW back to WWE? Was
it fun not knowing who was going to actually show up on a week-to-week
basis, or was it too chaotic to even get a handle on?

It wasn’t really chaotic, it was more of competition and a place to
go. If you’re talent, it’s better to have options, and you had more
freedom to experiment with things. Now, it’s very structured, very
rigid, and basically, we’re the only game in town. In terms of the
talent, if you don’t make it here, you have no place else to go. If you
had competition, if it didn’t work out for you here, at least you still
might make it somewhere else. So I think there’s a lot more pressure on
guys to be successful now, because if you don’t make it here, there’s
really no where else to go.

We might have a great clash between an Attitude Era guy going up
against a current star at The Royal Rumble, with The Rock against CM
Punk. What do you think will happen if these two get the chance to work a
program together?

Punk is a guy who you can’t shake his confidence, and The Rock is
the same way, you can’t shake his confidence, so I think anything Punk
says to Rock, any of his wittiness, you know Rock is going to be right
there competitively. I think the biggest difference is Punk is right
here every week doing this, he’s been the champ for over 300 days, and
he’s a great athlete, so I can see Punk pulling this out. Rock’s an
explosive athlete, while Punk is a showman who is also gritty and tough,
so I think if these two end up coming to blows, you can pretty much
flip a coin. When The Rock beat John Cena, I was actually pretty
surprised, so I have no idea what will happen.

You’re currently locked in a feud with Sheamus. Have you been impressed by the big man’s skills in the ring?

I’m really impressed with Sheamus. The thing about Sheamus is he’s
very, very physical. He’s a brawler. He’s strong, he’s hungry, and if
he’s smart, he’ll learn to avoid my right fist. [laughs]

Have you ever shot Sheamus in “Call of Duty”?

I don’t think Sheamus is a “Call of Duty” guy, but if I ever did see him in the game, I’d snipe him, no problem.

You’ve been around the ring a long time. Is there anyone left who qualifies as a dream match for you?

I’d like to have one more match with The Undertaker. He was very
influential in my career and always one of my favorites, so I’d like to
have one more run with him. I’d like to have another match with Stone
Cold. I’m a big fan of Stone Cold, both as a person and as a talent, so
I’d like another run with Steve. I wouldn’t mind getting another shot at
The Rock, either. Any of those three guys in a high-profile, main-event
match would be pretty exciting, and a pretty good payday, too.

Here is we present interview of WWE superstar Sheamus,

How did it feel to beat Daniel Bryan in just 18 seconds?
"It
was phenomenal. It was my second WrestleMania, I had my whole family
there. I opened the WrestleMania show, became the World Heavyweight
Champion in 18 seconds so a record was made there and it was an
incredible experience for me, one I will never forget."

The crowd went barmy when you won, but would you have been happier with a longer bout?

Source:Skysports

"I
was happy to walk out heavyweight champion regardless! I obviously
wanted to have a WrestleMania match, something special, but the problem
was I just didn't trust Daniel Bryan. The Raw before that he screwed me
out of the match with Kane by using [his girlfriend] AJ as a
distraction. I wasn't sure if he was going to do that again, so it made
perfect sense to me.

"I didn't want him walking away or running
away and getting himself disqualified or getting me disqualified. He's
done that in the past. I saw the opening with AJ, I took it, I ripped
his head off and I walked out World Heavyweight Champion in a record 18
seconds."

Why did you get into wrestling in the first place?
"I watched it for years. I watched it since World of Sport
on ITV. People like Regal, Robbie Brookside, Dave Taylor, Giant
Haystacks and Big Daddy. Then Sky came along with WWE and I've been a
fan ever since I can remember."

Where do you see the future of WWE?
"I
think we're evolving all the time. If you look back in the '80s at what
the superstars were like and what they're like now. We're much more
athletic. We can move better than we ever have. I think we're the best
athletes in the world. We never take any time off, we're on the go
minimum four days a week.
"I don't think anyone else can do what we do, so right now we're in a
great place. We're putting on very exciting, entertaining matches for
everybody and I think that you see our fans are enjoying it more than
ever."

You had a bad neck injury at the start of your career - has that made you more careful? Can you be more careful?
"I
trained for about two and a half months and then I got hurt, I got into
WWE properly in
'05. You can't think about that. If you go in thinking
that you might hurt yourself, then you're gonna hurt yourself. You're
going to be more likely to cause something to strain or mess up. I think
that you have to have a good mind about you.

"But it also gives
us a good message to give to fans - please don't try what we do - we're
highly trained and still injuries can occur. If you want to imitate what
we do, buy the action figures or play the video games. Don't actually
physically try what we do."

It's a long way off, but are you already thinking about what could go down in 2014 at WrestleMania XXX?
"No,
you can't. You have to think one pay-per-view at a time. I've got the
Money In The Bank match, a world title match, soon with Alberto del Rio
on Monday, July 16. You've got to work on the next one and the one after
that. You can't look too far ahead.

"Obviously
it's going to be great and it'll be here in no time, but the way you do
it is one week at a time, and that's the way I try to be successful.
Keep your eye on the prize and everything else will fall into place."

If you could wrestle anyone in history, who would it be?
"I
definitely think The Undertaker. The Undertaker is the one I want for
WrestleMania XXIX or XXX. Obviously something like that would be - his
streak - no-one has ever beaten him on his streak and I could be the
first to ever do that."

Are you thinking of doing more movies as time goes on?
"I'm
just concentrating on my career right now. I have a lot to achieve, a
lot to accomplish. Everything else is a bonus. Don't get me wrong, if
they want me to do it and it feels right I'll gladly do it, but WWE is
right now where my priority lies."

What's your favourite type of WWE match?
"The
street fight. I love a street fight. Kendo sticks, chairs, brawling
everywhere, not worrying about the count. Just a good old-fashioned
fight where anything and everything gets picked up and used. It's
definitely my favourite match, it definitely suits me and favours me
more than anything."

If young people really do want to become WWE superstars, what advice would you give them?
"I'd
definitely recommend first that they get their college education. It's
very important to have something to fall back on, because it's a very
low success rate. Don't begin wrestling until you're at least 18 years
old. You really want to let your body mature and grow as much as it can
before you put all that impact on it.
"And
get yourself in shape. You need to stand there, you need to look good,
you need to look different to a normal person. A lot of people make that
mistake, they don't pay attention to how they are physically. Wearing a
pair of tights they look awful, with their bellies hanging out. You
have to look the part "
The sports icon and heart of millions Sachin Tendulkar talks many things on his interview with TIME correspondent Nilanjana Bhowmic.
Here are some important things he said on interview

On how much attention he pays to the outsize impact he has on his countrymen:

For me there was [always] a simple formula: be focused on cricket and
the rest of the things will happen. Let people talk about it; me, I
move forward. Right from my school days, I have done that. I know that
certain things I do or say have an impact on people; people appreciate
certain things that I do. But any active sportsman has to be very
focused; you’ve got to be in the right frame of mind. If your energy is
diverted in various directions, you do not achieve the results. I need
to know when to switch on and switch off: and the rest of the things
happen around that. Cricket is in the foreground, the rest is in the
background.

On how much attention he pays to media hype around him:

If I get to hear casually about something someone’s said about me, or
see something in the papers, that’s fine. I don’t go looking for
things. In the last few years, the hype has grown because there is such
fierce competition in the media. Earlier, you played 10 shots, and maybe
a couple of comments were made; today you play one shot and there are
500 comments. The ball is the player’s court, whether you want to follow
every little thing or you want to keep your mind blank and trust your
judgment, trust your instincts and take decisions.
I get 0.5 seconds to react to a ball, sometimes even less than that. I
can’t be thinking of what XYZ has said about me. I need to surrender
myself to my natural instincts. My subconscious mind knows exactly what
to do. It is trained to react. At home, my family doesn’t discuss media
coverage. It helps because I am able to take my own decisions not
influenced by somebody saying something.

On his expectations of himself:

I don’t think I woke up one morning and felt that there was this
responsibility on me and that I needed to live up to that expectation.
Something which still gives me sleepless nights is, “How will I go out
and keep that standard, and live up to my own expectations. How am I
going to go out and perform?”
That restlessness brings the best out of me, it’s a healthy sign. At
the start of my career, when I used to toss and turn at night, I was
fighting that feeling and wanting to go to sleep. Now I know that’s
normal, so I’ll just get up and watch TV or something. I know it’s just
my subconscious mind getting ready for a game. It’s about knowing
yourself, and I know myself better now.

On the importance of enjoying his cricket:

So much happens [on and off the field] that sometimes you forget to
enjoy the game. That’s when things don’t go smoothly. I only realized
that in 2006, after I after my [shoulder] surgery, during my rehab. I
played a couple of practice games, and there was not too much media, not
too many people watching. I realized something was very different: I
was enjoying cricket. In retrospect, it was important for me to play
those games. That was game changer for me. I didn’t even realize it had
become so much about commitment and pressure, and doing this correctly.
Since then, there have been challenges along the way, some tough
moments. But I would speak to myself and say. “It doesn’t matter what
the situation is, enjoy it.”

On his inner monologue while batting:

Sometimes I chat to myself, sometimes I don’t. Most of the time, it’s
my subconscious mind that’s working. I don’t have time to complicate my
mind, so I try to keep it empty. Being in “the zone” is when you’re not
thinking of anything, merely reacting.
One would like to be in that zone more often, but it’s not that easy.
It’s like you are completely cut off from the crowd, from the noise
they are making. Your subconscious has taken over.
I feel it’s the conscious mind that messes things up. The conscious
mind is constantly telling you, this might happen or that might happen,
even before it has happened. Your conscious mind tells you the next ball
might be a out-swinger, but when it’s coming at you you realize it’s an
in-swinger… so literally, you’ve played two balls.

On how often he is in “the zone,” and how he gets there:

I would say 50% of the time I’m in that zone. Sometimes I am there
instantly, sometimes I get there through a couple of shots, and
sometimes I’m fighting to get that feeling. You focus on your breathing
and all those kind of things. But it’s not a guaranteed formula that
works always

On whether there’s a direct correlation between “the zone” and the runs he scores:

Not really. You might be feeling unbelievably good, but you still get
out. Sometimes you are not feeling good, but you struggle and struggle,
and the runs come.

On whether getting into “the zone” is a matter of personal enjoyment, rather than achieving an outcome:

It is. But I would want an outcome.

On his “switch-on/switch-off” process:

Switching on happens automatically. I know that I am going to be
playing in three weeks, so I better start doing something. I get
restless. Even if I am holidaying and not doing anything—training,
jogging or going for walks—I feel uneasy. It’s become part of me now.
Whether I am playing or not, I need some activity and that helps me to
be normal, otherwise I am a little restless. I like to go and hit a few
balls, even if it is for half an hour. I need to see the ball coming
towards
me and get used to that pace and bat swing and body moving;
that’s critical.

To switch off is not an instant process. It’s only possible when I
know I have a month and a half [between games] when I’m not doing
anything, and I’m spending time with my children. That’s when I actually
switch off and I stay away completely from cricket. I do normal things,
like any father, any family man.

On the challenges of being a father when he’s likely to be mobbed by fans whenever he steps out of his house:

It’s a little unfortunate that I can’t take [my kids] out for evening
walks, or whatever. In Mumbai, if I had to go out and be a normal
father… it’s not possible. We go on holidays and that is the time when I
look to spend as much time with them as possible. My son loves cricket,
and I can play with him in Mumbai, because it happens in a controlled
environment.

On playing with his son Arjun, 11:

He bats. He bowls a bit, too. But he enjoys cricket and that’s more
important. Nobody has forced him into cricket, it’s by his own choice.
As long as he is in love with cricket, it’s fine. Then you don’t look at
your watch or count the number of hours you’ve practiced. It’s the
sheer joy and satisfaction of being on the field. And that’s what I want
[for him]. I believe cricket starts from your heart and then it travels
up to your brain as you grow older. First you have to be in love with
the game, and my son is in love with cricket.

On how he, raised in a middle-class home, transmits values to his kids:

I think it has a lot to do with interaction. My father never told me
what was right or wrong. He guided me, but most of the things I learned
came from watching him. He never told me that I had to be humble, I just
watched him [being humble himself] and I said, “This is how I want to
be in life.”
The most important advice he gave me was when he said, “Most things
are temporary, your cricket will also be temporary because at some stage
you will stop. But something that stays permanently with you is your
nature, the person you are. So try and be a good person. People will
appreciate that even after you’ve stopped playing.” So I try and tell my
children the same thing.

On the financial rewards he has reaped from cricket:

When I started playing for India in 1989, I remember our entire tour
fee was 50,000 rupees (approx. $1,000 in today’s dollars) which included
four test matches and four one-day games. And today, per test match,
it’s possibly 15 times more. When I signed a contract with [sports
management firm] Worldtel in 1995, we decided to do it to make my life
easier, to ensure I did not have to compromise on my cricket by spending
an extra minute thinking about commercial things. I wanted to be
completely focused on the game, and let someone else managing the rest.
Mark Mascarenhas [the CEO of Worldtel, who was killed in a car crash
in 2002] never said, “If you do this or that, you will make more money.”
He said, “Just think of how to score more runs, the rest you leave to
me.” And that was the best formula for me because I just wanted to think
about cricket, nothing else. I do [advertising] shoots, but not at the
cost of compromising on my cricket.
At no stage did I feel I would have to make compromises to earn an
extra buck. I’ll give you an example. There was a company which wanted
to sign a contract with me during 1996 World Cup, to put their logo on
my bat. But I had already played the first two matches without a sticker
on the bat: I was used to the way it looked, and didn’t want to change
that in the middle of the tournament, didn’t want the distraction. So I
said, “Offer me whatever, I’m not signing this contract.”

On how he plans for his future:

My planning is only done match by match. I don’t plan too far ahead,
I’ve never done that. At most, I plan for the next tournament or series.
I believe in approaching my targets step by step, and don’t look at the
