This is important topic for those who still want to have a choice of the conventional medicine. But definitely - the more options - the better. choice of the conventional medicine.

Hi regarding Vitamin C therapy, it is not a cure all. I took IV vit C for four months at 100 - 150 grams a daily. Sometimes we had to put in through my feet as all the viens collapsed. My Ca125 rose from 18 - 2500 in three months.at first I was told that my scan had become clear with the treatment then we realised that they were looking at the wrong scan report. I was in fact coverd in tumours again. This was my third reoccurence in 18 months.

The vit C is contraindicated in abdominal tumours we have since learnt as it encourages ascites. I developed 17 pints of fluid and a blood clot nearly died, whilst taking the infusions. I came if the IV c and took chemo again ( 3rd course in two years). The chemo worked at first and now I'm on my fourth reoccurence in two years.

I had a friend who has since died who use IVC as well. She also developed ascites and fluid around her lungs.

I am married to a doctor so I was monitored and looked after wonderfully. Unfortunately IVC does not always work. Sorry to put a downer on this. I am now looking at NCD virus therapy and still praying. I am 26 months past my sell by date. Thanks to God and great medical intervention. Marian.

Here is the most encouraging and extreme protocol described on the cancercompas.com, of the person, who desperately tried to survive, and whose husband was a doctor. They mention that they personally talked to major specialists in the field, like Dr. Hickey, Dr. Roberts, Dr. Cathcard, Dr. Drisko (Kansas University). Thus I think this a the most highly knowledgeable (they talked to most of the specialists in the field), advanced (they tried different settings, by their try and error), highly tuned protocol existing on the Internet. I think it is extremely worth learning from it.

Hi, I just wanted other women like myself who have advance ovarian cancer 3C to know that IV vitamin C has helped to put me in remission. I took 100grams daily by IV from July 2006 - Sept and now my CT scan is clear. The scan report previously showed a tumour in my pelvic area 1.5cm plus substantial cancer on my colon (I already have a colostomy from past surgery for mets). I had already had two courses of chemo that had not worked and I refused the third course due to fear of felling so ill again. I took VPS and omega 3, salvestrol etc., a strict vegan diet with no sugar or yeast etc., and so far so good. Considering I was given only six months to live I am thrilled. I hope and pray that I remain clear as at one time my CA125 was 8500 (Jan 2005). I have been in hospital and a hospice for seven months which was terribly hard on my family. .... I used 50 grams daily for a few weeks but developed another tumour and my CA125 tumour marker continued to rise. I decided to increase right up to 200 grams daily . My husband is a doctor so he was monitoring me. By the time I had increased to 125grams daily the tumour had disappeared. It became increasingly difficult to administer due to vein thrombosis. This was a side effect of the chemo so I had a PICC line put in but that failed and all my blood vessels started to thrombose. I added r-ALA to the IV Sodium Ascorbate but reacted to it so just took the r-ALA orally instead.After about six weeks of daily infusions I decided to give the IV treatment a rest until I had a central line put in. This was going to be done at the same time as I was going to have another biopsy. I was only going to have chemo if I knew which chemo was going to help so a biopsy was needed for an assay. By the time I had a scan to check the progress of the cancer it had all disappeared. We were all so shocked and delighted. So far I have been off the IVSA for one month but hope to start again tonight. I understand that the cancer can come back very aggressively if the IVSA is stopped too suddenly. We will use 100 grams twice a week for another two years. I only used testing once to check the saturation level and the lab did the wrong test and tested for B6 instead!! So no we didn't bother with level testing. 50grams did not work for me or for a few others that I know. I also made the mistake of taking a slow drip at first maybe over four hours this is not helpful it needs to be 50grams over 60 minutes followed by 50grams over 120 minutes for the best results. I chatted to Dr Cathcart and Dr Hickey and Dr Roberts plus used the Kansas University protocol. My local hospital and hospice said that I was a very difficult patient because I was suffering from denial. That I would not admit that I was dying that I was making things more difficult for my family by trying these unproven methods of treatment. They just thought I was sad and desperate. I was, and thankfully I am now really well just three months after starting IVC and 3 months into my prognosis of less than 6 months survival. What cancer do you have?What side effects with IVSA- nausea when completing the 125grams dose and general difficulty getting the needle in leading to anxiety. Make sure you drink vast amounts of water with the IVSA. But it was a great deal easier than chemo. I could tell the cancer was dying by the smell of my urine and sweat. It was the same smell as when the chemo first started to work. ( Sorry to be so graphic) Unfortunately two courses of chemo did not put me in full remission. My tumour returned in less than a month after finishing the course and it was even more aggressive. I will give all glory to God. Marian.

Regarding your IV drip, instead of taking 50grams twice a week you may consider taking 100 once a week. It should be musch cheaper as you don't have to pay for a doctor or nurse twice, less equipment is needed and there would be less travelling. Plus 100 grams over 2 1/2 hours would give you a higher saturation level which is what you need with a really aggressive cancer such as ovarian.
If you add K3 and r-ala you can get a much higher saturation level with smaller amounts of IVSA and it will stay in your system longer. Don't forget your bindweed Vascustatin and imm-kine. The IVSA only kills around 65% of the cancer cells, leaving the more aggressive ones behind.(Hickney and Roberts) so you need your immune system to be in a good position to help to deal with the rest. These products really worked for me. They help to reduce vascular growth to the tumour.
I know that the finances or lack of them is a great worry but the alternative dosn't bear thinking of.
If you need any help with the IV protocol etc., please email me. I'm looking at the NDV vaccine now for ovarian cancer just in case. Also there is a lab in spain that will make a vaccination for your ovarian cancer specific to you. What direction are you looking in now?

Hi I notice that many people are using the IV SA (Vitamin C) 50 grams twice a week. This dose did not work for me. My tumour marker increased in fact, it doubled in three weeks and another tumour started to protude through my abdominal wall. I increased my dose to 100 grams daily then 125grams every third day. I started the IV SA the first week of July 2006 and by mid October 2006 my scan was completely clear. One tumour on the pelvic wall had disappeared and substantial tumours on the colon had vanished but the small tumour on my abdominal wall is still here but it has almost gone. My husband is a doctor and we decided to increase to 200grams daily if need be because my ovarian cancer is so aggressive and I was going down hill very quickly. I had got to the stage where I was sleeping all day and had recurrent intestinal blockages. My fentanyl dose was 125 daily with extra morphine. I had been in a hospice and hosptial for seven months.Now I take no painkillers at all and I can shop and drive again. More importantly, I can look after my four children : 24,22,20 and 4 years old.
We did the IVSA every night in our bedroom using a very fast drip to get the high saturation levels that are needed. A slow drip did not work for me. 100grams over 2 1/2 hours. With r-ala and K2 and K1. The cost was about $1600 monthly due to the cost of the drip equipment and solutions but then again if someone had told me that if I was to pay $5000 and get well I would have thought the price was cheap!!
If the 50grams does not work and I know a few people that have not responded to it, try a higher dose at a faster drip rate. Marian.

Yes, we spoke to them all personally, Dr Cathcart charged us $350 for the telephone call the others spoke to my husband over the phone as one doctor to another. Yes we spoke to Dr Drisko also.Kansas university sent us their protocol but I personally needed a stronger dose. Everyone has been most helpful.
To get the maximum tumour kill we used K1&2 or 3. B12 is also important. Go to vitamin c foundation for more details. You can download the different protocols as need be.
Everyone is different. Mine is an extremely aggressive cancer. My tumour marker can move from 7 to 1200 in two months. My highest figure was 8500.
I usually start the drip in the evening but at times when I have been really scared I have been on a drip round the clock. Vit C is non toxic so you do what you have to do to survive.
What stage are you at? Do you have any mets? Where are you based?

Can intravenous vitamin C resolve bone metastasis?

After three months of intravenous vitamin C treatment (75g, average 3 times per week) and some decrease in tumor markers (I am going to post details later), we were strike with the bone scan picture. As we do not have other bone scan picture from the time before we started the intravenous vitamin C, so there is nothing to compare to. The only one we have is 8 months old. It had 2-3 spots on a spinal cord. The current bone scan picture does not look good - with some 35% spread of the skeleton.

I have to research on the Internet to find any tracks of the intravenous vitamin C effectiveness on the bone metastasis.

1. At this stage things were looking really grim for me with cancer starting in my bones. Was it effect of Zometa or Intravenous Vitamin C?

For the last three months, while we were administered intravenous vitamin C, our conventional oncologis also prescribed us Zometa. Since we started Zometa and at the same time intravenous vitamin C, the pain from bone metastasis almost completely disapeared, our mobility increased from almost 0 (meaning laying in bed for the 75% of the day because of pain) to some 10km hiking to some 2000m height for the 4 consecutive Saturdays. Was it effect of the Zometa or Intravenous Vitamin C?

So as far as this new treatement is not approved officially by the govermental agencies, we will have to keep paying for it from our own pockets. Actually, insurance companies will be even saving if more and more people will be switching from the conventional chemoterapies and radiaiton to the i.v. vitamin C. This is the area that I do not understand. I hope it is well described in the protocols used by the doctors practitioners. But anyway Dr. Drisko mentions that the presense of the suppliments is greately affecting the efectivenes of the i.v. vitamin C. I still have to find what substances are to be used.

Alternatively, vitamin K3’ or another of the redox-cycling quinones, could be used in place of R-alpha-lipoic acid; these are also synergistic with ascorbate. The combination of vitamins C and K3 is 10 to 50 times more effective against cancer than is either agent alone.854 Vitamin K3 may be more effective than alpha-lipoic acid, but is also more toxic and requires careful administration. Once again, evidence indicates that levels sufficient to kill many types of cancer could be generated using oral doses. In addition, it is possible to vary the administration of these treatments; for example a period with vitamin C and K3 could be followed by a period with ascorbate and alpha-lipoic acid. So this is the most important part - it does not matter what happens in the tubes or animals, unless some one tests on a large number of us, the rest of us are not supposed to believe. Here is a list of at least 8 clinical trials recently, there were a few others a few decades ago. As you maybe know Phase I trials are to be designed to identify the non-toxicity of the new drug, while Phase II trials are designed to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatement. I still have to chek what are the PhaseIII trials for.

This pilot trial is a Phase II study designed to assess safety of high-dose antioxidants in gynecologic malignancies. Secondarily, we will evaluate efficacy of antioxidant use. Intravenous Vitamin C Doses

The discussion of the doses. Some of the doses are used by many practitioners, some doses are used at the clinical trials (that by some extend cause the outcome results of the trial). Definitely the most interesting are the doses used by the suvivors.

1. Laboratory studies show that vitamin C kills cancer. There are three types of tumor models: the sparse model layer, the dense model layer, and the hollow fiber tumor model. Most of the solid tumors in the body are of the hollow fiber tumor model, with the sparse and dense models being found on the outer layers of the tumor. Studies show that plasma levels of just 200mgs/deciliter (one tenth of a liter) will kill all the cells in the dense and sparse models, but hardly touch the hollow fiber tumor model. At 700mgs/deciliter we get about 50% to 65% live cells remaining in the hollow fiber tumor model.

So, we know that these large doses of vitamin C are cytotoxic, or deadly, to cancer. However, it is hard to maintain this high plasma level of vitamin C and the level sought in IV C treatment is 400mgs/deciliter.
Now for those of you taking mega doses of vitamin C orally, you should know that the most you will ever get into your plasma is about 10mgs/deciliter. To get these higher levels, you must have vitamin C administered intravenously (through a needle directly into your vein).

The patient is infused over 2.5 hours daily for 3 weeks (excluding weekends). Contrindications

While there are very few and generally very rare contraindications to usage of i.v. vitamin C, here some of them.
1. Counter indications to this approach are few. However they include anyone with kidney failure, or on dialysis, or with uncommon forms of iron overload. Responsible physicians should also screen for red blood cell glucose-6 phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, a rare condition whose presence can lead to haemolytic crisis involving red blood cell breakdown. The very large doses should also be built up to gradually over some days to establish good tolerance, starting at 15 grams for 1 or 2 sessions, then to 50 grams and, if necessary, to 100 grams. The exact dose is determined by the individuals plasma saturation by Vitamin C immediately after an infusion. WARNING: To avoid the well-documented Rebound Effect, which can lead to scurvy, this treatment should not be stopped abruptly. In 1990 he developed colon cancer. Not wanting to go the traditional route of "cut, poison and burn", he decided to treat himself with mega-doses of ascorbic acid. 8. Loretta Hill, 42, of Pittsgrove, Salem County, sits at a faux granite table, facing a TV, chatting with two other cancer patients in the Marlton office suite of family physician Vivienne Matalon.
Each patient is tethered to an intravenous bag of C and other nutrients hung above the table that will take 40 minutes to drip into them. The fee, not usually covered by insurance, is $110.
Hill can't prove that C saved her from colon cancer, but she fervently believes it has.
She was diagnosed in 2001, at age 38, after a sudden bout of rectal bleeding. She had surgery, radiation, two courses of chemo. Six months later, the cancer was back - but had spread to both lungs.
After those tumors were cut out, her oncologist offered irinotecan, which costs about $9,500 a week. But, she says, he held out little hope. He declined to be interviewed.
By then, Hill could barely function, much to the anguish of her husband and 9-year-old daughter.
When she heard about Matalon's ascorbate infusions, she figured, "If this doesn't work, at least I'll be in a better position for more chemo."
Today, almost four years later, Hill is in college part time, plays soccer, and has no signs of cancer. 9. Bill Nath (one of 3 in Levine's study)- Nath consulted experts at four major cancer centers from Wichita to New York. All recommended chemo, radiation, and removal of all or part of the bladder. Total removal would include the prostate, adding risks of incontinence and impotence.
One specialist "said if I didn't remove the whole bladder, I would die," said Nath. "It was pretty traumatic."
Nath ultimately made a choice that seemed suicidal to his wife, friends, and doctors: to keep part of his bladder and forgo chemo and radiation.
Instead, he got 30 grams of C twice a week for three months, then every month or two for four years at the Center for the Improvement of Human Functioning in Wichita. It was founded by Hugh Riordan, a physician and friend of Pauling's, now deceased.
Today, a decade after his diagnosis, Nath is cancer-free.

10. Tami (Parkersburg, WV). I am doing the IV Vitamin C and have had great results thus far. I was diagnosed Stage 3 breast cancer. I had 8 centimeters removed from first surgery, then 3.6 more second surgery (mastectomy), then some more in a third surgery where I had found a lump in remaining lymph nodes. Following chemo, which almost killed me, I had a recurrence in the lymph nodes on the opposite side of the original cancer! At this point I went with the IV vitamin C and natural chemos, supplements and diet. My last tests showed that the recurrence of cancer was gone. My blood labs have been excellent and I am still getting one Vitamin C infusion a week. I wish more people knew about this.

11. Tricia Thompson, (Canada). He takes Morphine to numb the pain he experiences. 効く人もいるかも知れませんが、当方（胃がん）はおそらく効きませんでした。
週３回９０ｇという高容量を１ヶ月ほどつづけましたが、腫瘍マーカーが跳ね上がってしまいました。
その量でも400mgの規定濃度になかなか達しなかったせいか、もう少し続けるべきだったのか、は判りません。

I have a wonderful oncologist who is very open to Vitamin C IV and I agreed to take it. I am very much into nutritional supplements and oral Vitamin C anyway.

He started me with 15,000 mg and we will build up to 50,000 mg.

I have been taking Vitamin C IV once a week. My cost is $148.00 for the treatment which if paid by insurance would be considered quite reasonable.

Usually, from my information, Vitamin C IV can be given 2-3 times a week but I just can't afford it.

I started with 20,000 mg on first infusion and he increased it 5,000 mg.I believe he increased the dosage 5,000 mg. nearly every two weeks. I am up to 45,000 mg now. It is diluted with saline water and I will be infused for two hours next time.

I will stay at 50,000 mg consistently when I reach that amount which should be after my next treatment.

I take 5 to 6,000 mg orally a day in between treatments which has been suggested by the articles I have read.

There is a certain percentage of saturation of tissues that can be measured by a certain machine which needs to be reached. However, he doesn't have that machine yet but intends to get it.

There is also a supplement being used in hospitals in Japan called AHCC, which is a combination of different mushrooms and it stimulates the priduction of NK cells, killer T-cells and cytokines. You can find out about it at the following web site.

There is also something called modified citrus pectin that men take for prostate cancer. It is supposed to stop the cancer cells from being able to stick together. I have a girlfriend who was using it when she was trying to shrink her breast tumor rather than have it removed. She has since had the tumor removed and it was smaller so she is still on the pectin. Of course, I always recommend making your own vegetable juice...carrots, beets, parsley, kale, collard greens or other greens.

I also take COQ10 - 200 mg, vitamin B, vitamin E -400-800 IU, grapeseed extract, alpha lipoic acid, started chlorella recently, selenium, sylmarian for the liver, acidopholus (twice a day),calcium (bone restore)and of course Vitamin C (about 5-6,000 mg a day).

We did the IVSA every night in our bedroom using a very fast drip to get the high saturation levels that are needed. A slow drip did not work for me. 100grams over 2 1/2 hours. With r-ala and K2 and K1.

Everyone is different. Mine is an extremely aggressive cancer. My tumour marker can move from 7 to 1200 in two months. My highest figure was 8500.

I usually start the drip in the evening but at times when I have been really scared I have been on a drip round the clock. Vit C is non toxic so you do what you have to do to survive.

His cancer is extremely agressive and he is too weak for chemotherapy. He started Int Vit C therapy about 2/12 weeks ago, 50grms 3x week. His cancer marker has gone from 650 to 320 in that time. But he is feeling quite sick and weak. His red blood cell count is 3.89, white is 19 and Hmgbl 115.

I was also told that change of diet( no refined foods, no sugar, no withe flour, rice and coffee BUT lots of raw vegetables and fruits) and giving up bad habits like smoking and social drinking...and also reduction in stress HELPS with this treatment.

I do 50 g in 500 ml sterile water over 4 hours and now I am doing the same in 1.5 hrs to get better plasma saturation and quicker ...3 times per week. I am planning to raise my Vit C to 100 g in 1 litre of sterile water and do it in 2 hours. So far so good.

Well, for those of us, who learned that there is no absolute 0 in science (only that there is 0.0000001, or everything matters only in respect with the precision you mean) here is the description of the technical mechanism behind Vitamin C in a blood stream.

During the course of my research, I found at least a few books that most of the people were referring to. Apparently, there are plenty of books on cancer (check on Amazon), but for some reason people recommend only some of them. So this list is just my suggestion where you might want to start reading.
