UPDATE: The LA Times has now said police confirmed his death.

TMZ has just learned Michael Jackson has died. He was 50. Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon at his Holmby Hill home and paramedics were unable to revive him. We’re told when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back.

“I was assaulted by Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guards,” the gossip blogger wrote on his Twitter account. “I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke.”

Will.I.Am fires back saying he and Hilton exchanged words. “So I go up to him and say, ‘Hey, can you do me a favor, Perez?… Can you not be so blatantly rude to our group on your website? That’s just wrong - you don’t have to be disrespectful,’” Will.I.Am said in his video statement. “He said, ‘I don’t respect you.’ I was like, ‘What? Ok, if you don’t respect me that’s cool.’ Will.I.Am then says Perez called him “a faggot” at which point “the fans get all crazy and start on Perez Hilton. I’m just sitting there minding my own business waiting for a car.”

I think Kelly Clarkson summed the whole thing up best the next morning while doing a radio interview for 92.5 KISS Radio in Toronto. Below is the entire interview, the comments are made a few minuets into the interview.

It’s called Spaceport America, a $200 million taxpayer-funded project where the sky is not the limit. From the 10,000-foot runway, spacecraft will take flight attached to an airplane, then break free and rocket 62 miles into space before returning to the facility. The flights will last about two hours and include five minutes of weightlessness.

Similar spaceport ventures are proposed in Texas, Florida, Oklahoma and elsewhere. Besides New Mexico, Virgin Galactic also hopes to ferry tourists to space from northern Sweden. State officials say the site will provide 500 construction jobs over the next four years and spark economic development, education and tourism for generations. Spaceport America’s runway is slated for completion next summer. The terminal and hangar should be ready for tenants in December 2010, when Virgin Galactic hopes to begin taking tourists aloft.

Gay bars are popular with bachelorettes, both for the over-the-top drag shows that some offer and for the ability to let loose in a place where women are unlikely to be groped or ogled. Some bars welcome the women and their free spending, even advertising weekend shows. Zaharakis, though, instructs his bouncers to turn away groups of women sporting beads, boas, tiaras and phallic plastic necklaces. His customers say they like knowing they’re not going to encounter such displays.

“It is throwing it in our face that they can get married and we can’t,” said Dion Contreras, a 29-year-old Chicago litigation manager, while having a drink at Cocktail with friends. “I just think they’re ignorant to our situation. I want women to think twice about this issue.”

When Zaharakis posted the sign in 2004, it got a little local attention, but it was mostly the surprised bachelorettes turned away at the door who took note. The November passage of California’s gay marriage ban Proposition 8, though, helped sparked chatter about the ban on Internet blogs, which in turn attracted more media attention and debate.

The California Supreme Court upheld the state ban last month. Six states have legalized gay marriage. Some of the biggest proponents of gay marriage aren’t on board with Zaharakis’ approach. Evan Wolfson, executive director of Freedom to Marry, said while he agrees with Zaharakis’ stand on marriage equality, he would express it differently.

“I’d rather invite people in,” Wolfson said. “Celebrate their happiness and ask them to take a stand for us by helping change the law.”

In Washington D.C., when bachelorette partygoers enter the gay bar Town Danceboutique they’re asked to sign a petition in support of gay marriage. Owner Ed Bailey sends the petitions to the customer’s representative in Congress. Bailey says in the year he’s had his petition policy, no one has refused to sign.

Down the street from Chicago’s Cocktail, another gay nightclub, Circuit, welcomes bachelorettes. Owner Jeff Binninger doesn’t think the women’s antics are meant to hurt anyone. Where Zaharakis took offense, Binninger saw a market niche and started producing the male revue “Sinzation” on Saturday nights, advertised specifically to bachelorette parties. But Zaharakis is standing firm. At Cocktail, where about once a month staff turn away bachelorettes, the sign will stay. And for those who ask about it, he’s ready with a written statement: “Until same-sex marriage is legal everywhere and same-sex couples are allowed the rights as every heterosexual couple worldwide, we simply do not think it’s fair or just for a female bride-to-be to celebrate her upcoming nuptials here at Cocktail.”

Not so sure I agree with the way Zaharakis is doing this. It seems a little naive to think that discriminating against those straight woman who most likely support gays rights to have any effect on gay rights.  Woman turned away at the door are more likey in my opinion to resent being turned away. Zaharakis seems to think that turning them away will make them run staright to their congressmen and demand gay marrige so they can hang out in his bar. Sounds like someone might be a bit delusional if you ask me.

Studies show clearly that people tend to change their onions on gay rights the more they are exposed to gay people and gay culture. Harvey Milk famously took this same line of thinking and called out to the world to come out. And do you know what, it worked! Locking straight females out of gay bars will never change hearts and minds in this way. Well it may, but not in the direction we need. I understand Zaharakis motives, but this idea is misguided at best, and it’s doing more harm than good.

Hakim Nelson and Jason Stenson married on May 26 with nary a raised eyebrow among the oblivious city bureaucrats who not only OK’d the marriage license, but conducted the ceremony, despite gay marriage being illegal in the state.

The plucky couple filled out their marriage application online at the Apple Store on 14th Street in May. A few days later, they went to the City Clerk’s Office on Worth Street to complete the form and get their marriage license. Nelson — who goes by the name “Kimah” and hopes to one day have surgery to become a “full female” — wore an orange dress and white leggings, his straight, brown hair falling to his shoulders.

The gullible clerk didn’t seem to notice that both Nelson, 18, and Stenson, 21, have male first names. They both had to present identification to obtain the license. Stenson used his state ID card, and Nelson gave a state Benefit Card, which he uses to collect food stamps.

By a fluke, Nelson’s ID card has an “F” for female on it, because the official who issued it in April assumed from his appearance that he was a woman. The clerk didn’t. Instead she asked questions about the couple’s jobs and addresses — which they listed as Sylvia’s Place, a city shelter for gay, lesbian and transgender youth — but nothing about their gender.

Ten days after obtaining their license, the wedding crashers returned to the office for the ceremony. They were clutching their license and a pair of $10 silver wedding rings they had bought in the West Village. Nelson was in the same orange dress.

Then a third city official, Blanca Martinez, took their IDs and the license. She printed out the marriage certificate and performed the quick ceremony, pausing to ask Nelson whether she was pronouncing “Hakim” properly. A friend served as a witness. As they walked out of the building hand in hand, Jason said to his new spouse, “I think we just made history.”

The bureau is currently deciding what steps to take regarding the license or any others that may have been issued improperly, adding that Stenson’s and Nelson’s is not valid. After media inquiries, the city’s marriage bureau stopped two more people with male names from marrying Friday, requesting birth certificates.

In 1926, John Logie Baird transmitted the very first television picture from one room to another. By 1927, he used telephone wires to successfully send a moving image from London to Glasgow and in 1928, he made the first trans-Atlantic television broadcast. After this innovative concept television as we know it today was not far behind. On May 2, 1941, 10 stations were issued a commercial television license by the FCC. The first television station begin commercial broadcasting on July 1, 1941 under the call letters WNBT. WNBT has served Connecticut, New Jersey and New York and has changed their call letters over the years resigning on what we know today as WNBC.

But all this has come to an end, at a minute past midnight, broadcasters shut down their outdated analog transmitters, leaving static to watch for those who weren’t ready. American TV viewers were given four extra months to get ready for the switch, when Congress voted early this year to delay the digital TV transition. The end of analog television frees up that part of the broadcast spectrum for other uses.

The federal government raked in $20 billion in auctions by selling licenses for the frequencies vacated by local television stations for other commercial uses. Some of the frequencies also have been reserved for emergency agencies to use for communications. Be sure to rescan you television so you can see all the new channels. And it might be a good idea to do it tommorrow as well since some stations will not make the swich until later in the day.

Well we all remember the pictures of Micheal Jackson holding his poor son over the balcony of a hotel some years ago. Well his son and daughter appear to be all grown up now. Hogging a huge umbrella all to himself, former King of Pop Michael Jackson and two of his “allegedly” biological children, Paris and Prince, roamed sans masks through an L.A. studio lot yesterday.

It seems that Jacko has little interest in his daughter Paris however, walking with his back to her and only talking to his son. I guess Jacko has finally realized that it’s much easier to sleep with your own little boy. Less chance of being sued by a poor family hungry for a windfall of cash. His poor daughter looks so rejected.

Oh look, they have their father’s (old) nose, how cute!

The lawsuit seeks a preliminary injunction against California’s Proposition 8 until the case is resolved. The suit was filed by Theodore B. Olson and David Boies on behalf of two gay men and two gay women.

Olson and Boies are two of the top litigators in the country, but in 2000 they were on opposite sites in the Bush v. Gore election challenge. Olson told the Associated Press late Tuesday that he hopes the case will wind up before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Some in the gay community are worried that if this new case reaches the U.S. Supreme Court it could spell disaster for the gay community. The current makeup of the court would not favor gay marriage many feel. Only time will tell what happens.
