Democratizing your startup fund

“Looking for an alternative funding for your startups?” The JOBS Act, recently passed into legislation, provides small-medium sized startups with access to a new source of fund. This panel will explore different aspects of Crowdfunding, how it works, who can have access to it, who would be investors as well as legal implications.

The original concept for Good Clean Fund was to provide non-profits and other socially conscious organizations with easy to use tools for creating beautiful pages for fundraising that incorporate some aspects of crowdfunding, like rewards and sharing tools.

After we had a working demo we sought out feedback from our techie friends here in Silicon Beach and we consistently got similar feedback, usually along the lines of “if this service is going to be free, than Kickstarter is in a lot of trouble.” Definitely not the feedback we were expecting but who are we to argue. For those who haven’t checked out the site yet here’s a breakdown of the main features:

• Drag and drop campaign editor. Add text, images, videos, buttons etc… wherever you want on the page.
• Loads of custom background images (or you can upload your own)
• Every button can have custom text and colors.
• It’s 100% FREE TO USE!! All the money goes directly to your PayPal or Stripe.com account. (Please contact us if you’d like to see other options added.)
• Flexible time frames can be used for permanent fundraising campaigns or short term crowdfunding projects.

Some people have asked us how we’re planning on making money if we don’t charge a percentage of the funds raised. Down the road we’re going to add some paid features but at this point we just want to get these tools out there and see if people like them and use them. Anyone who’s planning on launching a fundraiser or a crowdfunding campaign on another platform should definitely take a look and give some thought to what they get (or don’t get) for the 4-9% commission they pay for the privilege of using other platforms.

Please take a little time and play with the site and share any feedback you have. We want to make this the best tool out there but that can be hard if no one shares their thoughts.
