What are Penny Stocks?

Penny stocks are not a standard way of trading. Companies release microcap stocks in small amounts instead of listing the stocks on a public stock exchange. The price are almost reasonable one.penny stocks are purchased via private transactions, either directly from the company or through a microcap broker. The best penny stocks allow the investor a good opportunity to learn the trade with just a few hundred bucks.

Understanding the Risks

Without risk, it is impossible to trade. But the best penny stocks offer a perfect way to control the level of risk that you are comfortable with. You should only work with money that you already have in hand and that you can afford to lose whether you are a day trader or have a long term strategy. If you are a newbie, you hassle to pick up the stock as you are haunted by fear of risk. As days go by you may understand it well and pick up the right choice since every trade becomes a learning experience.

Always do your Homework

It is quite essential to know that most microcap stocks are not listed with the standard regulatory agencies. Doing your homework in this trade works out well. Research the company, the owners and their product. It is good to move on to the penny stocks with a company that you are already familiar with. One of the advantage of the top penny stock is that they closely work with their investors, so you can easily know the dealings. When buying penny stocks you should be cautious of it as fraud are common because of the more lax regulation. If you hear any company hasn't been thoroughly vetted, then never put your money in it, whether by yourself, your broker or a regulatory agency.
To know more about penny stock you can visit timothysykes.com. They provide up-to-date information on penny stocks.

Ralph Nelson Elliott introduced The Elliott Waves Theory in forex. According to him, the movements in the currency trading are in form of waves or cyclic patterns. He named it as “Elliott Wave Theory” based on the psychology of traders. While studying the forex market, Elliott observed that the markets sometimes follow emotional patterns because of some outside influences and mostly were not as chaotic as one thought.

Elliott in his observation considered the unique characteristics of wave patterns and making predictions on the basis of the patterns in the market. The Elliott Waves theory in online forex trading works on another assumption that market moved in five waves on the upside and three waves on the downside. The price movement can be forecasted by picking out these distinct patterns. The first three waves of the Elliott Waves Theory in online forex trading represents the impulse or the up-waves in a major bull market, while the next waves stand for the corrective or minor downward waves within the major bull market.

It is a well known that in forex trading market for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. The prices may move in upward or the downward direction, it needs to be followed by an opposite movement. The price action is divided trends and corrections or sideways movements. The trends represent the general direction of the market, and the corrections move against the trend. According to Elliott Waves Theory in forex trading these movements are labeled as the impulse waves and corrective waves.

Free Daily Elliott Wave Forex Forecast
Earnforex.com provide daily forex analysis based on Elliott Waves theory. In each Elliott Wave Video five currency pairs are researched. The forecast is done by Muhammad Azeem, who works in Forex technical analysis since 2001 and practices Elliott Wave techniques since 2005.

3) Money to invest
Additional vital elements to open an account with an online stock broker includes a) the discipline to know when to buy and sell stock b)and investment plan that matches your chosen stock purchases.

Your investment strategy:

Online stock brokers rarely provide clients with advice on which stocks to buy or sell or hold. But some offer off-line services for this. If you are a newbie to stock trading, you may avail yourself of this service, or else you need to research your stock whether to buy or sell by yourself. If you wish to research which stock to buy yourself, you should go for purchasing online stock trading software programs which would help you with all the technical information such as charts, real time prices and informations, which will provide insights for investing.

Nowadays buying and selling stocks are made easier due to technological advancement, so a newbie can easily step into this field without any fear. It will take at least three to five days to create and fund a brokerage account. It is advisable to research the stock you are about to buy before accessing the trade, as stock is volatile and cannot be predicted newbie must be conscious of the risk factor involved in the trade.

Instructions:

1. The first step to do is to select a broker who will buy and sell the stock. Brokers fall under three categories: full service, discount and online. Full service brokers charge high commissions and fees but provide financial research and insight. Discount brokers charge less compared to full service brokers but don't provide the same level of research. Online brokers charge very less and provide free charts. But compared with other brokers they offer little financial insight.

2. To open an account, you need to request an application form. If your brokers have an online account then your process are made quicker. While filling the application form you need to have W-8 form, social security number and photo identification number with you. You can request W-8 form from the broker if you don't have it.

3. Depending on the broker the minimum amount required to open an account varies. You can fund the account through check or bank transfer or wire transfer. The days required to complete it may last from one to three days which entirely depends on the brokers.

4. You have to determine the price to buy or sell stock. There are two methods involved in it. One is limit order and other is market order. In limit order one can purchase a security at or below a specified price or sell a security at or above a specified price. In contrast to it market order allow the investors to buy or sell security at current market value.

5. The next step you need to do is to evaluate the type of order transaction you would like to place. To buy or sell securities in one order you have two options one is “all” and “ none”. You may have multiple buy or sell orders if you select “no instructions”. If you need to save money you can opt for “all” or “none”. Brokers charge a fee for each transaction.

6. If you have online account then log on to it and select trade then fill in the price, order type and instruction. If you need to sell the security then select “sell ”and if you need to buy the security then go for “buy”. If you cannot log in or don't have online broker you can provide the information to the broker.

Differences Between Common and Preferred Stock

There are significant differences between common stock and preferred stock. Common stocks are issued to employees and founders whereas preferred stock are offered to investors through employee stock option program. Mostly preferred sock holders have a greater claim to a company's asset and earnings. In favourable condition when the company is financially healthy and decide to distribute the amount in form of dividends, preferred stock holders get the cash first whereas common stock holder will receive the amount at last. When the condition is not favourable, the company may liquidate in such case the cash is paid to creditors, bond holders and preferred stock holders. Common stock holder will get the cash only after the preferred stock holders are paid out.

Preferred stock dividends are different and greater than that of common stock. In case of preferred stock , the investors get the dividend regularly, so the investors can easily get the idea whether to expect a dividend or not. Market fluctuation never affect preferred stock holders , so they enjoy fixed income and always be in the safer side as preferred stock act as a security for them. In case of common stock, the company's board of directors decide whether to pay dividend or not. Market fluctuation has a great impact on common stock holder.

What are Stock Options?

Stock option give the investor a legal right to purchase the stock for an agreed rate at later date. The agreed rate is known as stock price. In trading, stock option can be defined as a contract between buyer and seller. The purchaser cannot go against the seller as the assets are clearly outlined by the seller. It is noteworthy that stock option is not an obligation but a legal right holded by the buyer.

There are two categories that fall under stock option one is call option and other is put option. In case of call option the buyer has the rights to purchase the underlying securities at set price and set date. But in case of put option buyer has the rights to sell the underlying securities at set price and set date.

The stock, shares, future contract and a piece of property comes under securities. It is important to note that stock option have the expiry date if it is not exercised before expiry date it is of no value and no transaction could be done. So exercise it before the date is expired.

Option prices are determined through various models. The purpose of these models are to evaluate the price which is not a constant as it entirely depends on the market conditions.

HDFC Systematic Investment Plan (SIP)

Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) acts as a vehicle for the investors. SIP investors get more returns in comparison to other investments. The procedure involved are so simple and investment strategy are time honoured, so you can get as much you can in a disciplined manner over a long time period.

What is Systematic Investment Plan ?

1. You should invest a specific amount for a continuous period at regular intervals.
2 .It is just like a recurring deposit and similar to that of regular saving scheme. This method involves investing the fixed amount in a mutual fund at regular intervals.
3. You can purchase an units on a given date every month. You can decide the amount and mutual fund scheme.
4. If your investments remain the same, you can buy many units in declining market and few in a rising market.
5. Once the option is made for SIP you can automatically take part in market.

Benefits of Systematic Investment Plan

Power Of Compounding
If you are intended to make more money then you need to invest it at an early period. If you invest a small amount of money regularly at an early age, then you have more chance to earn a large sum of money as the power of compounding underlies this principle.

Rupee Cost Averaging
A difficult task that one need to overcome is timing the market consistently. Rupee Cost Averaging is an automatic market timing mechanism where you need not be anxious of timing the market.

Convenience
SIP are operated by providing the post dated cheques where the enrolment form are completed or ECS instruction are provided. The cheques are deposited in the bank on the specified dates and the investors get units credited to their accounts. SIP option is available in form of balanced fund, growth fund, child benefit fund, principal income fund, index fund, monthly income fund, tax saving fund and equity fund.

Factors to Consider when Searching for a Real Estate Agent

If you are interested in mutual fund investment you can go on with it without any fear of risk as there are five indicators which are the statistical measures and help investors by acting a risk-reward parameters. Let us discuss below the five main indicators:

1. Alpha : Investment performance is measured on a risk-adjusted basis by taking into account the volatility (price risk) of a security or fund portfolio and comparing its risk -adjusted performance to a bench mark index. In simple words Alpha can be said as the excess return of the investment relative to the return of bench mark index. Alpha actually represent the value by adding or subtracting from a fund portfolio's return. If the fund has outperformed its benchmark index by 1% then the alpha will be positive. If the fund has underperformed by 1% then the alpha will be negative,. If the alpha is positive then the investors are in safer side.

2. Beta : In these indicators the volatility or systematic risk of a security or portfolio are measured in comparison to the market. Regression analysis can also be used in calculating beta. Beta is otherwise known as “ Beta Coefficient”. The investment return is based on the swings in the market.

Suppose the beta for individual security in the market is 1.0 then the investment price will move in lock-step with the market and based on the deviation from the market the portfolios are measured. If beta is more than 1.0 in the market the investment price will be more volatile than the market. In case beta is less than 1.0 in the market then the investment price will be less volatile than the market.
If you are a conservative investors intending to preserve the amount you can go on with low betas so that your focus is on to securities and fund portfolio. If you are anticipating higher returns and willing to take risks you can go on with high beta investments.

3. R-Squared : R-Squared represents the percentage of a fund portfolio's or security movements by comparing with benchmark index. In simple words R-Squared is a statistical measure. The benchmark for mutual funds are U.S. Treasury Bill.
R-Squared values ranges from 0 to 100. If the fund value is seventy or less than it then it doesn't perform the index. A mutual fund has R-Squared values ranging between 85 and 100 then its performance is closely corrected the index. Actual fund investors avoid moving on with high R-Squared ratio.

4. Standard Deviation : It is the measurement of dispersion of data from its mean. To put it in simple words the more data are spread, the higher will be the difference. In mutual funds the standard deviations are calculated based on historical performance by deviating from the expected returns.

5. Share Ratio : It is a measure of risk-adjusted performance. The risk-free rate of return is subtracted from the rate of return of for an investment and the results are divided by the investment's standard deviation of its return.

By sharpe ratio investors can analyze easily that returns are because of the result of excess risk or small investment decision. One portfolio or security can get high returns, so this measurement is a very useful one and also a good investment. If the investment is greater than the risk-adjusted performance will be better.

IDBI Mutual Fund has launched its First NFO - IDBI NIFTY Index Fund

As far as forex market are concerned there are ample of chance to get high return. To trade successfully in forex market there are some of the essential things you need to follow. Let's have a brief look on it.

The availability of trading tools make the investors to trade at ease. Some of the trading tools are candlesticks and trend lines, technical analysis and trading news etc. The broad base of forex trading in addition to trading tools are fundamental analysis and fundamental trading strategy. Even if you trade personally or use software program never forget to use the above said fundamentals. In forex trading two types of forex fundamental strategies are incorporated which are fundamental analysis and technical analysis. Fundamental analysis takes into account the economic factors whereas the technical analysis considers the price. In general more exotic trading currency pairs seem to be fundamental and largely trading currency pair seems to be technical.

Most of the traders rely on one type of analysis which is not advisable. In case of technical analysis one need to deal it mathematically and pricing data has to be manipulated. If you are moving on with fundamental analysis you should consider the economic factors and convert all the economic data into price prediction. If you like to trade on luck you can follow one type where you may sometime lose or win. If you trade by using both technical and fundamental, then you can have a balance which is the one needed for the successful trader. So by balancing these two type of analysis, you can get the upper hand in the trade.

The average turn over for a day is about US $1 trillion. Regarding investing forex trading seems to be the most sophisticated form where there is an ample chance of yielding more profit in return. At the same time one should remember well, that risk and benefits are involved in forex trading. So it is essential for a newbie to conscious of it before stepping your toes in forex market.

Forex market is not a constant one, the currency value may go up or down at any time. The one thing which allures the speculator to this trade despite the risk is amount of leverage available. Forex market works around the clock which facilitates the trader to trade at any time. The flexibility in time helps the traders who have busy schedule.or day job. The key factors that contributed to the success of the forex market are the size, structure and volatility of the currency market.

The investors can trade by investing large amount without impacting the exchange rate or looking on whether the market is bull or bear which seems to be the greatest benefits in forex market. Though benefits are there are certain risk involved in which one should not consider it. It entirely depends on the brokers you choose, so be cautious of selecting the right brokers. Another factor to be known to the trader is the rate of exchange of foreign currencies, economical condition, interest rates and political condition. There are many benefits in forex market, so it is better to ignore the risk in it before getting in to the field of currency trading.

Forex reserves rise by $485 million

Forex quote seems to be quite bewildering one to the beginners of forex trade but it is essential for them to know how to read it or else it would be very hard to survive in this field. Reading forex quote is very simple and easy to comprehend it. Let us have a look on how to read the forex quote.

Reading a Quote

Quoting is done in relation to another currency in such a way one value of currency is reflected through another value of currency. Let us have a look on the exchange rate between the U.S dollar (USD) and the Japanese yen (JPY). The following forex quote could be obtained.

USD and JPY are referred as currency pair. Base currency is to the left of the slash and quote or counter currency is to the right of the slash. US dollar (base currency) is equal to one unit whereas Japanese yen (counter currency) is what base currency is equivalent to the other currency. From this quote you can easily get that US$1 = 119.50 Japanese yen. In other words US$1 can purchase 119.50 Japanese yen.

Direct Currency Quote vs. Indirect Currency Quote

Quoting currency pair includes two method one is direct and other is indirect method. When the domestic currency act as a base currency in a currency pair, then it is the direct currency quote and when domestic currency act as a quoted currency in a currency pair, then it is an indirect currency quote. Suppose if your domestic currency is Canadian dollar and foreign currency is US dollar then direct quote would be CAD/USD and indirect quote would be USD/CAD. In direct quote domestic currency is fixed whereas in indirect quote domestic currency is variable.

If you are looking for Canadian dollar as a domestic currency then your direct quote would be of as 0.85 CAD/USD which means that you can get US$0.85 with C$1. In case of indirect quote it would be of as 1.18 USD/CAD which means that you can get C$1.18 with US$1.

In forex market US dollar is the base currency in a currency pair and most of the currencies are traded against US dollar so in such case it is a direct quote. USD/JPY also fall under this category.

It is noteworthy that all currencies does not possess US dollar as the base currency. British pound, New Zealand dollar and Australian dollar act as a base currency and trade against US dollar. Euro also fall under the same category. EUR/USD = 1.25 means that one euro is equivalent to 1.25 US dollars.

Japanese yen is quoted to two decimal place whereas all the other currency rates are quoted to four decimal place.

Cross Currency

When currency pair does not possess US dollar as one of its components then it is known as cross currency. Common cross currency includes EUR/JPY, EUR/GBP and EUR/ CHF. It is noteworthy that currency pairs with US dollars are known to be a major.

Bid and Ask

As far as forex market are concerned there are two types of price bid price and ask price. Ask price is the amount of quoted currency needed to purchase one unit of the base currency at the time of purchasing a currency pair where the process seems to be long. In other words selling of one unit of the base currency in relation to the quoted currency. When purchasing the base currency seems to be short the quoted currency will be obtained by selling one unit of base currency.

If you are looking for purchasing the base currency you need to pay 1.2005 Canadian dollars to get one US dollar. If you are about to sell the base currency, you should look for bid price where you will sell the base currency equivalent to 1.2005 Canadian dollars. The first quoted currency is the base currency in which the trade are being done.

Spreads and Pips
Spreads are nothing but the difference between the ask price and bid price.

Though these movement seems to be insignificant it may sometimes yield high profits.

Currency Pairs in the Forward and Future Markets

The technical difference between the forex market lies in the way of quoting the currencies. In forward or future market US dollar act as a base currency. Here pricing are fixed in terms of how much US dollars are required to buy one unit of other currency. Forward/future markets and spot markets are not always parallel to each other.

GBP/USD

In this quote, British pound act as a base currency in spot market. These quote is applicable for Future as well as forward markets. In the spot market when British pound increases then it will be reflected in future and forward markets also.

In case of exchange rate for US dollar and Japanese yen in spot market, one US dollar can be purchased for 115 Japanese yen.If you take it for future market one Japanese yen can be purchased for .0087 US dollars. There would be a decline in Japanese yen in spot market if US dollar rises.

Stock Market: Bull and Bear Markets

The Bulls

A bull market occurs when the economy is well flourished, jobs are abundant, Gross Domestic Product (GDP) shows maximum growth, inflation are low and stock prices are high. Bull market is actually a movement in the stock market in which price of stocks are hiking when all the above mentioned one are going right. When prices of stock are high then it is easy to pick up the stock. If stock are overvalued then it may lead to a dangerous condition. If a person is more optimistic in their attitude then he or she is said to have a “bullish outlook”.

The Bears

A bear market occurs when the economy is very bad, unemployment problems are more, inflation are looming and stock price goes down. Bear market is actually the movement in the stock market in which price of stocks goes down. In such case the investors really find difficult to pick up the stock. One way to make money is to use “short selling” method. The other way is to be on the sidelines until bear market end and then purchase the stock when market is of bull type. If a person is more pessimistic in their attitude then he or she is said to have a “bearish outlook”.

How to Read a Stock Table/Quote

Stock Market Tables help the traders in revealing the history and current performance of the stock, it is used for predicting which stock holds the top rank thereby aiding the traders in picking up the right stock. If you get familiar with the stock market tables then you can easily derive a conclusion about particular stock you are about to pick up.

Instruction to read the stock tables are as follows:

52 Week High - It indicates the highest price at which the stock was traded over the previous 52 weeks (one year).

52 Week Low - It indicates the lowest price at which the stock was traded over the previous 52 weeks (one year).

Stock - It usually indicates the name of the stock. If the company name is very short, it is spelled out and if the company name is too long, it is abbreviated.

Ticker Symbol - It usually indicates the symbol of the stock which could be recognized easily and mostly placed closer to the company's name.

Dividend Per Share - For every stock you own there is an estimated amount which you will get per year as a cash known to be the dividend. If the column is blank then you won't get the dividend. On the contrary if there is hike in the price of stock you will definitely get the highest return.

Dividend Yield - Yield percentage is calculated by dividing the annual dividend per share by price of stock per share.

Price/Earnings Ratio - P/E is determined by dividing the current price of a stock by earnings per share from the last four quarters.

Trading Volume - It actually shows total number of shares that have been traded for a day.

High - It indicates the highest price of the stock for a day. If you find high on the left side of the table then the stock is traded at highest price for year. If you find high on the right side then the stock is traded at highest price for last business day.

Low - It indicates the lowest price of the stock for a day. If you find low on the left side of the table then the stock is traded at lowest price for year. If you find low on the right side then the stock is traded at lowest price for previous day.

Close - It indicates the last trading price of a stock recorded for previous day. In some tables you may find “close” which is nothing but the closing bell price for the last day.

Net Change - It is nothing but the changes between the closing price of the previous day and the closing price from the day before that. From this change you can easily know whether the stock is up or down.

How to Buy Stocks

There are two ways to purchase a stock. Let's have a brief outlook on these two methods.

1. Using Brokerage
Most of the traders get stock by using brokerage as it is the common method and most preferable by all. Full-service brokerage and discount brokerages are two option provided for you, depending upon your convenience and budget, you can go for the one which opts you the most. Full-service brokerages charge you more for hiring as they offer you expert advice and even manage your account. Discount Brokerages are much cheaper in comparison with full-service brokerages as they pay little personal attention to you. In the past there was only full-service brokerages so only rich people afford a broker. As technology growth rapidly increased , trader can easily get the online discount brokerages.

2. DRIPs and DIPs
The individual company offer two plans for the share holders to get the stock directly from the companies at a low cost. The two plans offered by the company are Dividend Reinvestment Plans (DRIPs) and Direct investment Plans (DIPs). If an investor need to start the trade at low amount can choose any one of the above said plans. Mostly DRIPs are considered to be the best way to invest minimum amount at regular interval.
