PhoneGap is a mobile development framework produced by Nitobi, purchased by Adobe Systems.

PhoneGap is a free and open source framework that allows you to create mobile apps using standardized web APIs for the platforms you care about.

It enables software programmers to build applications for mobile devices using JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3, instead of device-specific languages such as Objective-C.

The software underlying PhoneGap is Apache Cordova

The software was previously called just "PhoneGap", then "Apache Callback".

Evolution Of Android: From Angel Cake To Ice Cream Sandwich

The Android OS is currently dominating the smartphone market. Its share in tablet space has also been noteworthy. Have you ever wondered, how it all started? Contrary to assumptions, this OS was the product of a lesser known startup called Android Inc. This small company was then bought by Google for pursuing its smartphone ambitions. The search giant has since added many products and ideas to the platform, and befriended the OHA (Open Handset Alliance) alongside brands such as LG, HTC, T-Mobile, Samsung, Motorola, and Intel. The first consumer friendly iteration of the OS was called Angel Cake. Interestingly, Google has named all the versions in an alphabetic order.

Android 1.0 (Angel Cake)
The first version of the open source software was released back in 2008. The OS along with its launch device, HTC Hero (also known as T-Mobile G1) was received very positively by the reviewers. The platform grabbed eye-balls of the developer community in no time. After that, the only way Android could go, was up.

Android 1.1 (Battenberg)
In Feb 2009, version 1.1 was released. Although it took almost a year to materialise, it wasn't a major update. The Battenberg, only ironed out existing bugs and allowed users to save attached documents. In addition to that, the software was also optimised to run smoother. It was after this update that the development of this open-source software picked up speed.

Android 1.5 (Cupcake)
Launched in April 2009, Cupcake offered video recording capabilities, widget support, and animated transition effects. The OS also got the A2DP profile, which enables stereo Bluetooth support. The onscreen keyboard recieved text prediction, and the users could now upload content directly to sites such as YouTube and Picasa.

Android 1.6 (Donut)
The third and last software update of 2009, Donut, came in out September. It brought many improvements to the Android Market. It also introduced the Mark All option in the gallery. Additionally, screens with 800x480 were also supported by the platform. Apart from that, the OS also made way for voice search functionality.

Android 2.0 \ 2.1 (Eclair)
Eclair came with a revamped UI and support for animated wallpapers. Camera features including digital zoom, macro, and white balance were added. The browser got a facelift and HTML5 support. Additionally, Bluetooth support was bumped up to version 2.1. 

Android 2.2 (Froyo)
Released in the summer of 2010, Froyo (short for FROzen YOghurt) was a huge improvement over its predecessor in terms of performance. The users could now finally install the apps on a memory card. Additionally, support for 720p screens, USB and Wi-Fi tethering made it to Android. With the Adobe Flash 10.1 integration, devices running on this OS could handle web videos through the browser.

Android 2.3 (Gingerbread)
Gingerbread landed by the end of 2010. This version of the Android offered the support for relatively large screen-sizes, gyroscopes, and even barometers. It also brought native internet telephony and video chat capabilities. Google also introduced the much-hyped NFC (Near Field Communications) feature along with improved power management.

Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) 
For the first time Google released a software that was totally focused on tablets. This version, released in 2011, came up with a fresh UI that depended more on software buttons. It also introduced hardware acceleration to the platform. On the multimedia front, the OS could support FLAC files. Moreover, it supported external input devices such as keyboards and mice.  

Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0)
In 2011, Google took a U-turn from its earlier vision of having two different versions of Android, one for tablets and other for the smartphones. The latest Android 4.0 is designed to play nice with both phones as well as slates. This update is claimed to be the most enhanced version of the platform with full support for multi-core CPUs.

Brainstorming is a popular tool that helps you generate creative solutions to a problem.

It is particularly useful when you want to break out of stale, established patterns of thinking, so that you can develop new ways of looking at things. It also helps you overcome many of the issues that can make group problem-solving a sterile and unsatisfactory process.

Used with your team, it helps you bring the diverse experience of all team members into play during problem solving. This increases the richness of ideas explored, meaning that you can find better solutions to the problems you face.

It can also help you get buy in from team members for the solution chosen – after all, they were involved in developing it. What’s more, because brainstorming is fun, it helps team members bond with one-another as they solve problems in a positive, rewarding environment.

Why Use Brainstorming?

Conventional group problem-solving can be fraught with problems. Confident, "big-ego" participants can drown out and intimidate quieter group members. Less confident participants can be too scared of ridicule to share their ideas freely. Others may feel pressurized to conform with the group view, or are held back by an excessive respect for authority. As such, group problem-solving is often ineffective and sterile.

By contrast, brainstorming provides a freewheeling environment in which everyone is encouraged to participate. Quirky ideas are welcomed, and many of the issues of group problem-solving are overcome. All participants are asked to contribute fully and fairly, liberating people to develop a rich array of creative solutions to the problems they're facing.

“Brainstorming 2.0”

The original approach to brainstorming was developed by Madison Avenue advertising executive, Alex Osborn, in the 1950s. Since then, many researchers have explored the technique, and have identified issues with it.

The steps described here seek to take account of this research, meaning that the approach described below differs subtly from Osborn's original one.

What is Brainstorming?

Brainstorming combines a relaxed, informal approach to problem-solving with lateral thinking. It asks that people come up with ideas and thoughts that can at first seem to be a bit crazy. The idea here is that some of these ideas can be crafted into original, creative solutions to the problem you're trying to solve, while others can spark still more ideas. This approach aims to get people unstuck, by "jolting" them out of their normal ways of thinking.

During brainstorming sessions there should therefore be no criticism of ideas: You are trying to open up possibilities and break down wrong assumptions about the limits of the problem. Judgments and analysis at this stage stunt idea generation.

Ideas should only be evaluated at the end of the brainstorming session – this is the time to explore solutions further using conventional approaches.

Individual Brainstorming

While group brainstorming is often more effective at generating ideas than normal group problem-solving, study after study has shown that when individuals brainstorm on their own, they come up with more ideas (and often better quality ideas) than groups of people who brainstorm together.

Partly this occurs because, in groups, people aren’t always strict in following the rules of brainstorming, and bad group behaviors creep in. Mostly, though, this occurs because people are paying so much attention to other people’s ideas that they're not generating ideas of their own – or they're forgetting these ideas while they wait for their turn to speak. This is called "blocking".

When you brainstorm on your own, you'll tend to produce a wider range of ideas than with group brainstorming - you do not have to worry about other people's egos or opinions, and can therefore be more freely creative. For example, you might find that an idea you’d be hesitant to bring up in a group session develops into something quite special when you explore it with individual brainstorming. Nor do you have to wait for others to stop speaking before you contribute your own ideas.

You may not, however, develop ideas as fully when you brainstorm on your own, as you do not have the wider experience of other members of a group to help you.

Group Brainstorming

When it works, group brainstorming can be very effective for bringing the full experience and creativity of all members of the group to bear on an issue. When individual group members get stuck with an idea, another member's creativity and experience can take the idea to the next stage. Group brainstorming can therefore develop ideas in more depth than individual brainstorming.

Another advantage of group brainstorming is that it helps everyone involved to feel that they’ve contributed to the end solution, and it reminds people that other people have creative ideas to offer. What’s more, brainstorming is fun, and it can be great for team-building!

Brainstorming in a group can be risky for individuals. Valuable but strange suggestions may appear stupid at first sight. Because of this, you need to chair sessions tightly so that ideas are not crushed, and so that the usual issues with group problem-solving don’t stifle creativity.

How to Use the Tool

You can often get the best results by combining individual and group brainstorming, and by managing the process carefully and according to the "rules" below. That way, you get people to focus on the issue without interruption (this comes from having everyone in a dedicated group meeting), you maximize the number of ideas you can generate, and you get that great feeling of team bonding that comes with a well-run brainstorming session!

To run a group brainstorming session effectively, do the following:

Find a comfortable meeting environment, and set it up ready for the session.
Appoint one person to record the ideas that come from the session. These should be noted in a format than everyone can see and refer to. Depending on the approach you want to use, you may want to record ideas on flip charts, whiteboards, or computers with data projectors.
If people aren’t already used to working together, consider using an appropriate warm-up exercise or ice-breaker.
Define the problem you want solved clearly, and lay out any criteria to be met. Make it clear that that the objective of the meeting is to generate as many ideas as possible.
Give people plenty of time on their own at the start of the session to generate as many ideas as possible.
Ask people to give their ideas, making sure that you give everyone a fair opportunity to contribute.
Encourage people to develop other people's ideas, or to use other ideas to create new ones.
Encourage an enthusiastic, uncritical attitude among members of the group. Try to get everyone to contribute and develop ideas, including the quietest members of the group.
Ensure that no one criticizes or evaluates ideas during the session. Criticism introduces an element of risk for group members when putting forward an idea. This stifles creativity and cripples the free running nature of a good brainstorming session.
Let people have fun brainstorming. Encourage them to come up with as many ideas as possible, from solidly practical ones to wildly impractical ones. Welcome creativity!
Ensure that no train of thought is followed for too long. Make sure that you generate a sufficient number of different ideas, as well as exploring individual ideas in detail.
In a long session, take plenty of breaks so that people can continue to concentrate.

Prioritizing what needs to be done is especially important. Without it, you may work very hard, but you won't be achieving the results you desire because what you are working on is not of strategic importance.

Most people have a "to-do" list of some sort. The problem with many of these lists is they are just a collection of things that need to get done. There is no rhyme or reason to the list and, because of this, the work they do is just as unstructured. So how do you work on To Do List tasks – top down, bottom up, easiest to hardest?

To work efficiently you need to work on the most important, highest value tasks. This way you won't get caught scrambling to get something critical done as the deadline approaches. Managing Interruptions

(Questions 5, 9, 11, 12)

Having a plan and knowing how to prioritize it is one thing. The next issue is knowing what to do to minimize the interruptions you face during your day. It is widely recognized that managers get very little uninterrupted time to work on their priority tasks. There are phone calls, information requests, questions from employees, and a whole host of events that crop up unexpectedly. Some do need to be dealt with immediately, but others need to be managed. Two excellent tools that discuss how to minimize your interrupted time are The Urgent/Important Matrix and Managing Interruptions .

However, some jobs need you to be available for people when they need help – interruption is a natural and necessary part of life. Here, do what you sensibly can to minimize it, but make sure you don't scare people away from interrupting you when they should.

Procrastination

(Questions 2, 10, 12)

"I'll get to it later" has led to the downfall of many a good employee. After too many "laters" the work piles up so high that any task seems insurmountable. Procrastination is as tempting as it is deadly. The best way to beat it is to recognize that you do indeed procrastinate. Then you need to figure out why. Perhaps you are afraid of failing? (And some people are actually afraid of success!)

Once you know why you procrastinate then you can plan to get out of the habit. Reward yourself for getting jobs done, and remind yourself regularly of the horrible consequences of not doing those boring tasks! Scheduling

(Questions 3, 7, 12)

Much of time management comes down to effective scheduling of your time. When you know what your goals and priorities are, you then need to know how to go about creating a schedule that keeps you on track, and protects you from stress.

This means understanding the factors that affect the time you have available for work. You not only have to schedule priority tasks, you have to leave room for interruptions, and contingency time for those unexpected events that otherwise wreak chaos with your schedule. By creating a robust schedule that reflects your priorities and well as supports your personal goals, you have a winning combination: One that will allow you to control your time and keep your life in balance. When implementing and debugging a class, it is sometimes useful to state conditions that should be true at a particular point in a method. These conditions, called assertions, help ensure a program’s validity by catching potential bugs and identifying possible logic errors during development. Preconditions and postconditions are two types of assertions. Preconditions are assertions about a program’s state when a method is invoked, and postconditions are assertions about a program’s state after a method finishes. While assertions can be stated as comments to guide the programmer during development, Java includes two versions of the assertstatement for validating assertions programatically. The assert statement evaluates a boolean expression and determines whether it is true or false. The first form of the assert statement is assert expression; This statement evaluates expression and throws anAssertionError if the expression is false. The second form is assert expression1 : expression2; This statement evaluatesexpression1 and throws an AssertionError with expression2 as the error message if expression1 is false. You can use assertions to programmatically implement preconditions and postconditions or to verify any other intermediate states that help you ensure your code is working correctly. The example in Fig. 13.9 demonstrates the functionality of the assert statement. Line 11 prompts the user to enter a number between 0 and 10, then line 12 reads the number from the command line. The assert statement on line 15 determines whether the user entered a number within the valid range. If the user entered a number that is out of range, then the program reports an error. Otherwise, the program proceeds normally.

1) The sql query becomes faster if you use the actual columns names in SELECT statement instead of than '*'.

For Example: Write the query as

SELECT id, first_name, last_name, age, subject FROM student_details;

Instead of:

SELECT * FROM student_details;

2) HAVING clause is used to filter the rows after all the rows are selected. It is just like a filter. Do not use HAVING clause for any other purposes.
For Example: Write the query as

SELECT subject, count(subject) 
FROM student_details 
WHERE subject != 'Science' 
AND subject != 'Maths' 
GROUP BY subject;

Instead of:

SELECT subject, count(subject) 
FROM student_details 
GROUP BY subject 
HAVING subject!= 'Vancouver' AND subject!= 'Toronto';

3) Sometimes you may have more than one subqueries in your main query. Try to minimize the number of subquery block in your query.
For Example: Write the query as

FROM employee 
WHERE (salary, age ) = (SELECT MAX (salary), MAX (age) 
FROM employee_details) 
AND dept = 'Electronics';

Instead of:

SELECT name 
FROM employee
WHERE salary = (SELECT MAX(salary) FROM employee_details)

4) Use operator EXISTS, IN and table joins appropriately in your query.
a) Usually IN has the slowest performance.
b) IN is efficient when most of the filter criteria is in the sub-query.
c) EXISTS is efficient when most of the filter criteria is in the main query.

For Example: Write the query as

where EXISTS (select * from order_items o 
where o.product_id = p.product_id)

Instead of:

Select * from product p 
where product_id IN 
(select product_id from order_items

5) Use EXISTS instead of DISTINCT when using joins which involves tables having one-to-many relationship.
For Example: Write the query as

WHERE EXISTS ( SELECT 'X' FROM employee e WHERE e.dept = d.dept);

Instead of:

SELECT DISTINCT d.dept_id, d.dept

6) Try to use UNION ALL in place of UNION.
For Example: Write the query as

SELECT id, first_name

7) Be careful while using conditions in WHERE clause.
For Example: Write the query as

SELECT id, first_name, age FROM student_details WHERE age > 10;

Instead of:

SELECT id, first_name, age FROM student_details WHERE age != 10;

Write the query as

Write the query as

SELECT id, first_name, age 
FROM student_details

8) Use DECODE to avoid the scanning of same rows or joining the same table repetitively. DECODE can also be made used in place of GROUP BY or ORDER BY clause.
For Example: Write the query as

SELECT id FROM employee 
WHERE name LIKE 'Ramesh%' 
and location = 'Bangalore';

Instead of:

SELECT DECODE(location,'Bangalore',id,NULL) id FROM employee 
WHERE name LIKE 'Ramesh%';

9) To store large binary objects, first place them in the file system and add the file path in the database.

10) To write queries which provide efficient performance follow the general SQL standard rules.

a) Use single case for all SQL verbs
b) Begin all SQL verbs on a new line
c) Separate all words with a single space
d) Right or left aligning verbs within the initial SQL verb

Hadoop is a large-scale distributed batch processing infrastructure. While it can be used on a single machine, its true power lies in its ability to scale to hundreds or thousands of computers, each with several processor cores. Hadoop is also designed to efficiently distribute large amounts of work across a set of machines.

How large an amount of work? Orders of magnitude larger than many existing systems work with. Hundreds of gigabytes of data constitute the low end of Hadoop-scale. Actually Hadoop is built to process "web-scale" data on the order of hundreds of gigabytes to terabytes or petabytes. At this scale, it is likely that the input data set will not even fit on a single computer's hard drive, much less in memory. So Hadoop includes a distributed file system which breaks up input data and sends fractions of the original data to several machines in your cluster to hold. This results in the problem being processed in parallel using all of the machines in the cluster and computes output results as efficiently as possible.

Updating Android 1.5 to 2.2 on HTC G1 Mobile

Let's Start the Up-gradation Process:

I) Formatting the SD Card and Downgrading to RC29(YOU WILL DELETE EVERYTHING OFF YOUR SD CARD!)

Plug your USB cable into your computer and then plug your phone in.
Mount your SD card by sliding down the notification bar and selecting mount.
Go to My Computer and access your SD card.
BACKUP ANY FILES THAT YOU WANT ONTO YOUR COMPUTER. VERY IMPORTANT!
Go back to my computer and right click on the drive that is your sd card. Click format. Choose FAT32 from the drop down and hit the format button. This removes all data from your memory card.
Once the format is complete: drag and drop "DREAIMG.nbh & Update.zip files that you downloaded into the sd card. (DO NOT create a folder or anything, just put it right in the SD card)
Remembers that you have rename “Tmo Cupcake 1.5” as update.zip
Unmount your phone by going through the notification bar and then unplug your phone from your computer. Them turn off your phone.
Press and hold the camera+end key until until you see a screen with colored bars, then let go. This is the bootloader. The screen will turn gray with blue writing on it.
Hit the end key to start the update. DON'T DO ANYTHING UNTIL THIS IS DONE!
Once it is finished press the trackball to reboot. (If it goes back the the colored bar screen and doesn't reboot try holding the home+menu+end key, if this doesn't work, just remove the batter and put it back in and turn the phone on)
Once the phone is on, just turn it back off.
Now press the Home+End keys until you see a triangle with an exclamation point in it (this is recovery mode). Once you see this let go of the buttons.
Open the keyboard and press the ALT and L buttons, and then Press ALT and S buttons. Now wait until the phone reboots (it will do this automatically once the update is applied) (Don't worry if you see picture of a box and a g1 or a chip with an arrow)
Once the phone reboots, go ahead and and go through the welcome guide and get to the home screen.

II) Flashing a Recovery Image

Now with your phone at the home screen, go to settings>applications> an turn on unknown sources.
Now go to settings>SD card and Phone Storage>Unmount SD Card
Now Click format sd card and go ahead and format your sd card. It will automatically remount after.
Go back to the home screen and plug and mount the phone to the computer again as you did earlier.
Place the following files you downloaded earlier right into the sd card: FlashRec.apk, and Amon Ra's Recovery Image (Again not in any folder or anything, just on the sd card)
Once they are transferred go ahead and unmount and unplug your phone from the computer
Go and download a file manager from the android market (I suggest LINDA FILE MANAGER)
Once downloaded, open the file manager and go to SD card, and click the FlashRec.apk file and then click install. If it asks -> Tell it to use package installer to open it (it probably wont ask but if it does)
Once installed click open (it will be on bottom left of screen)
Then click the button that says "backup recovery image"
Once it says "backup complete" open the keyboard and type the following: /sdcard/recovery.img
The click "flash custom recovery image" and wit until it says "Flash complete"
Go back to the home screen and then turn off the phone.
Turn the phone back on into recovery mode by holding down the home and power buttons. You will see a bunch of text on top of a black background with an HTC logo in the middle.

III) Partitioning and Loading the latest rad

Scroll down to "Partition SD Card"
Click "Partition SD"
Press the Home key to confirm
Use the trackball to increase the "swap size" to 96MB then press Home key
Make sure "EXT2" is set to 512 MB then Click the Home Key
Make sure "Fat32 size" is set to remainder and then press the Home Key and then the phone will begin partitioning.
Once partitioning is complete scroll down and select to "SD: ext2 to ext3" and press track-ball and then press the Home key. Wait for it to upgrade.
Once the Upgrade is complete hit the "back" button to get back to the main menu. Then scroll down and select "USB-MS Toggle" and wait for it to enable.
Now plug the phone into the computer again. Now transfer the files downloaded earlier: G1 Radio, G1 HardSPL, Generic G1 Rom w/ root, to the phone. (AGAIN KEEP THE FILES JUST IN THE SD CARD AND NOT IN A FOLDER OR SOMETHING)
Once the transfer is complete hit the Home key to disable the USB-MS toggle and return back to the main menu of recovery mode. Unplug your phone.
Scroll down and select "Flash .zip from SDcard"
Select the G1 Radio file (named OTA Radio or something like that) and hit the Home key to confirm. DO NOT SELECT ANY OTHER FILE, THE RADIO MUST BE DONE FIRST.
Once the Radio Flash is complete Press Home+Back to reboot the phone. It will then say "writing radio image" and then reboot back into recover mode (this will take some time)
Once back into recovery mode, scroll and select "Flash zip from SDcard" again.
This time choose the SPL file (named somthing like "Latest G1 SPL.zip") and then click the HOME KEY to confirm.
Once it finishes, hit HOME+Back to reboot once again. It will say "writing boot image" and then reboot back to recovery mode.
Once again scroll to "Flash zip from SDCard" and choose the Generic G1 Rom file (Named something like Generic G1 Root Rom.zip) and click Home to confirm and wait for it to finish.
Once finished it should go back to the main menu and say"Install from SD card complete"
Now click on the "Reboot System Now" choice. (Home+Back)
Wait for the phone to reboot back into Android.

IV)Installing CYANOGENMOD 6 (Android 2.2 Froyo for HTC DREAM)

Once back into Android, turn the phone back off.
Hold the Home+End keys to turn the phone on and get it back into recovery mode
Select "USB-MS Toggle" and wait for it to enable
Once enabled, plug your phone in and transfer the CYANOGENMOD6 and GAPPS file ito your SD card/phone. (again not in any folder, just in the sd card)
Once the files are transferred, press the Home key to disable USB-MS Toggle and return to the main menu, and then unplug your phone.
Scroll down and select "wipe" and then select "wipe data / factory reset" and then hit the Home key to confirm. Wait for it to finish the wipe. It will say "Data wipe complete"
Hit the back key to return to the main menu.
Scroll and select "Flash Zip from SDCard"
Select the CYANOGENMOD 6 ROM Named something like "update-cm-6.0.0-DS-RC1-signed.zip" and hit Home to confirm and wait for it to finish.
Once finished it will go back to the main menu and say "Install from SD Card Complete"
Go back to "Flash Zip from SDCard"
Select the Gapps File Named something like "gapps-mdpi-FRF91-3-signed.zip" and click home to confirm.
Once it is finished you should be back at the main menu. Select "Reboot System Now" and wait for the phone to reboot.

The reboot will take some time, (roughly 5-10 minutes) so don't freak out. Just put your phone down and go do something =)

CONGRATS! YOU have successfully rooted your G1 and installed

A candidate for news broadcaster’s post was rejected because of his voice. He was also told that with his obnoxiously long name, he would never be famous.

- He is Amitabh Bachchan.

A small boy – the fifth among seven siblings of a poor father, was selling newspapers in a small village to earn his living. He was not exceptionally smart at school but was fascinated by religion and rockets. The first rocket he built crashed. A missile that he built crashed multiple times and he was made a butt of ridicule. He is the person to have scripted the space Odyssey of India single handedly.

- He is Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the former President of India.

In 1962 for nervous musicians played their first record audition for the executives of the Decca Recording Company. The executives were not impressed. While turning down this group of musicians, one executive said “We don’t like their sound. Groups of guitars are on the way out”.

గరుడ పురాణం వ్యాస మహర్షి చే రచింపబడిన అష్టాదశ పురాణాలలో ఒకటి. ఈ పురాణం శ్రీ మహా విష్ణువు చేత అతని వాహనమైనగరుడునకు ఉపదేశించబడినది. అందుకే ఈ పురాణమునకు "గరుడ పురాణం" అని పేరు వచ్చింది. ఈ పురాణంలో మొత్తం 18000 శ్లోకాలు ఉన్నాయి.

ఈ పురాణంలో ముఖ్యంగా మనిషి మరణించిన తరువాత వెళ్ళే నరక లోక వర్ణన ఉంటుంది. ఇంకా మానవుడు చేశే వివిధ పాపాలు, వాటికి నరకలోకంలో విధించే శిక్షలు, పాపాలు చేస్తే వాటి ప్రాయశ్చిత్తం, పుణ్యం సంపాదించుకునేందుకు వివిధ మార్గాలు, పితృ కార్యాల వర్ణన ఉంటుంది.

సత్పురుషులతో స్నేహం చేయని వారు,
పుణ్య తీర్ధాలనూ, సజ్జనులనూ, సత్కర్ములనూ,గురువులనూ,దేవతలనూ నిందించేవారు యమలోకం దక్షిణపు మార్గాన నడవాల్సి ఉంటుంది.

పురాణాలను, వేదాలను, మీమాంస, న్యాయ శాస్త్రాలను, వేదాంత శాస్త్రాలను దూషించేవారు, ఇతరులు సంతోషంగా ఉంటే దుఃఖించేవారు, ఎదుటి వారు దుఃఖిస్తుంటే ఆనందించే వారు, చెడు మాటలు పలికేవారు, పెద్దల హితోపదేశాన్ని వినని వారు,ఆత్మస్తుతి చేసే వారు, పరనింద చేసేవారు.అధర్మ మార్గంలో నడిచేవారు దక్షిణమార్గాన ఏడుస్తూ పడిపోవలసిందే.

తల్లి తండ్రులకు,గురువుకు,ఆచార్యులకు,పూజింపతగిన వారికి అవమానం కలిగించేవాడు,పతివ్రత వినయ సంపన్నురాలైన భార్యను అకారణంగా ద్వేషించి విడిచి పెట్టేవారు,ఏదైనా ఇస్తానని మాట తప్పిన వారు,ఇచ్చిన దానిని తిరిగి తీసుకునేవారు,దానం ఇచ్చి తరవాత ఇచ్చినందుకు బాధ పడేవారు వైతరణిని దాటక తప్పదు.

దానం చేసే వారిని ఇవ్వవద్దని ఆపేవారు,యజ్ఞ విధ్వంసకులు,హరికథకులకు విగ్నం కలిగించే వారు, పరుల భూముల సరిహద్దులను చెరిపి భూమి ఆక్రమించే వారు, పశువుల బీడును దున్ని వాటికి మేతలేకుండా చేసేవాడు, అనవసరంగా పశుహత్య చేసేవాడు. కపిల గోవుపాలను దైవకార్యాలకు కాక స్వంత కార్యాలకు వినియోగించే వారు ఇలాంటి పాపాలు చేసే ప్రతి మనిషి యమలోకం దక్షిణ మార్గాన ఉన్న వైతరణిలో కూలబడవలసిందే.

యమధర్మరాజు ఆజ్ఞను పాటించి యమభటులు పాపాత్ములను వైతరుణిలో త్రోసి వేస్తారు.గోదానం చేయని వారు ఊర్ధ్వ దేహక్రియలు జరగని వారు ఆ నదిలో అనేక బాధలు అనుభవించినా నది ఒడ్డున ఉండే బూరుగ చెట్టుకు వ్రేలాడ వలసి వస్తుంది.అబద్ధపు సాక్ష్యం చెప్పేవారు,వంచనచేసి ధనం సంపాదించేవారు దొంగతనం చేసేవారు పచ్చని చెట్లను నరికేవారు,ఫలవృక్షాలను పూలతోటలను ద్వంసం చేసేవారు తీర్ధయాత్రలను చేసే వారికి ఆటంకం కలిగించేవారు,వితంతువులను మోసం చేసి మానహరణ చేసే వారు వైతరణిలో దుఃఖాన్ని అనుభవించి ఒడ్డున ఉన్న బూరుగ చెట్టుకు కట్టబడి యమభటుల చేతి దెబ్బలు తింటూ ఉంటారు.ఇలా పాపాత్ములు వైతరణిలో పడి బాధలు అనుభవించాలని గరుడ పురాణం చెప్తుంది.

గరుడ పురాణం అనేది మనిషిని సన్మార్గంలో నడిపించడానికి మన పెద్దలు వ్రాసిన ఒక మహత్తరమైన గ్రంథం.దీనిని చదవడంవల్ల మనిషి తన జీవితాన్ని మంచి మార్గంలోకి మలచు కోవడానికి ప్రయత్నిస్తాడు.
