How does the BeBook Neo Stackup?

According to some reviewers, the Neo is the fastest eReader on the market - that is some boast! It comes with a 6" touch-screen, Wi-Fi connectivity, a very basic web browser and a 532 MHz processor. But it has lag issues!

Stylish and slim

Access to eBooks from a range of retailers based on what country you are in. It uses a E-Link screen which is easy on the eye and can be read from any angle. Although it has a touch screen it does not seem to respond to your finger - hence the stylus!

The Amazon stable of eReaders came to my attention a month ago while I was pondering how on earth I travel long-haul without a book. Then up pops the Kindle eReader which has evolved from the popular Kindle 1 to the Kindle 2, 3 and the DX.

When I think about the amount of overseas travelling I do and the fact that I love reading; there is a problem - there is a weight restriction of 7Kg for on-board luggage. So if i take the dead-tree version of the book then i am compromising what i can take on board with me! The obvious decision really is to take an eReader rather than the traditional dead-tree book version; and I must say the Amazon stable of Kindles is a good option!

On the Hunt for an e-Readers

I have been scouring review sites/youtube for eReaders of which there are some likely options with a variety of prices and features. I guess top of the list are the usual suspects - the Kindle series (2, 3 and DX), the Nook, the Alex, Sony and Pandigital. Undecided at this point - but the options look good! The rationale for me boils down to access to reading material while I travel especially long haul flights. I love reading and I like a couple books on hand at all times! Hence the search

I experienced the iPad for the first time in Honolulu, Waikiki last month (August) whilst on vacation from the Southern Hemisphere – I walked into the Apple shop in the Royal Hawaiian Complex on Kalakaua Avenue and with the assistance of the staff, I had a play with the device; nice, very nice. Lots of bells and whistles; what impressed me most (besides the mapping facility) was the bookshelf. I am an avid reader my favourite author being Clive Cussler. So, as you can imagine, when I browsed through the book shelf I wondered why on earth I brought a book with me on vacation! Here in my hands was an iPad with the facility for storing eBooks!

So, where can I get eBooks for the iPad?

It took me awhile, but I finally tracked down a comprehensive eBook site that permits its’ members to download novels, newspapers, comic books, magazines and much more - all from one place: The Novel Network. As it turns out, any e-Reader device such as the iPad, iPhone, Kindle or Nook can access these downloads with a single click.

So, instead of carrying a book with me on the plane or paying ten to fifteen dollars to Amazon for a single book, I can now download my favourite eBook authors to my new iPad, slip the iPad into my on-board luggage and read at my leisure without having to pay a black cent for each download! I just love thought of accessing my favourite authors at the touch of a button from anywhere in the world.

It doesn’t matter what genre of books you enjoy; bestsellers, classics, mystery, thriller, crime, romance, fantasy and children's books – the Novel Network Database probably has them among its 30,000 plus titles. If you can track a book down on Amazon or at any local or Online Store, chances are it will be on the Novel Network Database.
