OVERALL IMPRESSION

This is a great tablet for children, one they can grow into. It's not good for anyone who wants to keep their children in the kiddie play yard, since escaping that yard is too easy.

This is a great case for kids. It is durable, easy to grab and go, and has openings in all the right places.

Pros:
- Nice, light, soft & bouncy texture. Like a mix between solid rubber and foam.
- Carrying handle a plus for kids. Protects against and prevents additional drops
- Fairly good looking case.
- Handle doubles as a stand. Conversely, it can also work somewhat like a hook. Very functional.
- Connecting cable port tab closes and opens. Prevents dirt/grime from entering the charging port.

Cons:
- Power button is covered by the case and is not accessible. Can still operate it thought with some practice by mashing through the case. Not a deal breaker.
- Stand is somewhat unstable. Again, not a deal breaker, but a pillow or book behind the stand provides the additional required stability when a toddler uses the tablet.

The rubber this case is made of is soft and thick. It's not a cheap hard plastic-like rubber you find with some cases. The rubber on this case is soft, but extremely thick, so it does a good job of absorbing the impacts from bumps and falls. It's a one piece design, so you slide your iPad into one end of it and then pull the other end up around it. This LeapPad is a very high quality tablet for youngsters to enjoy. For those who have children that already play games on a kindle or other tablet, they may find this a bit too juvenile or boring, but as a first tablet it is colossal.
It comes with a lot of nice apps. Most of the content they give you is simple (songs to sing along to, a calculator, a calendar, etc). But there is a cartoonish and quirky little pet sim where you take care of an animal that you can choose options to personalize, and that is kind of fun to play with in short bursts. They also offer a free game that you can choose from when you are on their website.
On the tablet, there is a little art-like app for making pictures that you can save, and also use to decorate photographs you can take with the included camera. In fact, the camera is the most fun aspect of this as a base unit. It takes good pictures and kids love to photograph themselves and everything else!
I purchased a Hello Kitty cartridge game for playing on this LeapPad and it was adorable and made good use of the touch screen and the camera as well as being a very educational game. It helped me to realize the full potential of this LeapPad, and it's usefulness.
The format for all software on LeapPad is ultra kid-friendly, speaking directions and gently helping them learn, and celebrating their achievements while making them feel like they are playing and not being schooled. This is an extremely genius learning system.
The tablet itself is very durable and while a little heavy (4 AA batteries carry a bit of weight!), it is still easy for youngsters to use, and the touch screen works great with the stylus or even just fingers. The stylus also has a little string attached to it and it clips on to the side of the unit so it won't get lost.

This is the best of the Zapped games. It worked really, well, was entertaining while we were playing. It worked well and was quite fun.
We absolutely love playing Life this way. You play with your iPad and there are a few simple ways to identify your peg, like a hairstyle or accessory. You can name your peg. The kids love this part. You earn virtual life tokens through out the game by landing on some of the application spots. There are squares that you need to stop on in order to choose your paths in life and watch short videos or animation of getting married or welcoming children. There are bonus games and lawsuits and funniest home videos. The kids absolute favorite part of the game is that at the end you get to see the life you created during the game, your family on the sofa with pictures of their life together on the wall behind them and tokens of their life achievements around them. This Android tablet includes a wall charger and a USB cable so you can charge in with a regular electrical outlet or by connecting it to any powered USB port. You could charge it with a USB wall charger, USB car charger or by connecting it to a USB port on your computer. You can continue to play on it while it's charging if you wish.

The screen on the tablet is 7 inches measured diagonally and the tablet inside is standard. What makes this tablet kid friendly is the special thick silicone shell that encases this tablet. It covers the entire back and side of the tablet and around the edges of the front as well. It's about 1/4 of an inch thick so it can really protect the tablet from minor falls and bumps quite well. It should still be protected even if it's dropped on it's front because the silicone shell is so thick. The one exception would be if you were to drop it or hit it on something small or sharp that would only hit the screen. In this case the shell wouldn't be able to protect it. I think it provides very good protection from the average drop or bump.

The screen on this tablet isn't as high quality as my iPad for example but this tablet costs ten times less than my iPad and the screen is just fine for the price of this tablet in my opinion. The screen resolution is 1024 x 600 which is lower resolution than I am used to. I still looks nice but I can certainly notice the difference. For the price it's not bad at all.

Works just as good as the more expensive tablets. The rubber protector is a great feature, and you don't have to buy it separately. It also comes with all the cords you need (one for charging in the wall and another for either charging with usb port or hucking up to the computer).
