Jailbreak iPhone 4, 3GS on iOS 4.1 with Limera1n Step by step!!!

Moments ago, we posted that Limera1n was released to jailbreak all iOS 4.1devices forever. We promised with how-to guides and here we go, you can now use the step by step guide below to jailbreak iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS using Limera1n on Windows only.

Here's the instructions to jailbreak iPhone 4, 3GS on iOS 4.1 using Limera1n, PLEASE read the important notes at the end of the post:

STEP 1: Download Limera1n for Windows from HERE or here.

STEP 2: Connect your iPhone to your PC via USB then launch Limera1n and hit “make it ra1n”

STEP 3: You will have to get your device into DFU mode by following the steps on the screen shown by Limera1n.
You iPhone will now be placed in recovery mode.

Press both the power and the home buttons.

When Limera1n asks you to, release the power button.

Your phone will now be in DFU mode

STEP 4: Now, Limera1n app should be shown on your iPhone's home screen. Limera1n will pwn your device forever now.

STEP 5: The jailbreak should be done now. Tap on the limera1n icon on your device and install Cydia.

IMPORTANT:You have to keep some points in your mind, first, Limera1n will not unlock your device (i.e. you will lose unlock if you upgraded to iOS 4.1 and used limera1n).Second, Limera1n is not working with old bootrom devices and it doesn't support iOS 4.2 beta, Geohot is fixing the issues right now. Stay tuned.

Limera1n would mess up GreenPois0n jailbreak release as the teams don't want to give Apple two exploits. They would better save one of them to 5th-generation devices.

Good News for those who are stuck on iPhone 3GS OS 3.1.3 / Baseband 05.11.07 and can’t downgrade to earlier versions because they didn’t saved their Cydia SHSH. MSFTGuy and PushFix fixed the Blacksn0w and firmware 3.1.3 issue and now this unofficial patched version of blacksn0w is available on PushFix Cydia repo. This modified version of blacksn0w adds support for phones running 3.1.3 with 05.11.07 baseband (phones upgraded with PwnageTool or Sn0wbreeze). It also fixes a small bug that appears to make WiFi much more stable

Note : Needless to mention but if you updated your 3.1.2 or less OS to 3.1.3 stock firmware you are out of luck because your Baseband is updated to 5.12.01 and latest BB is incompatible with Ultrasn0w/ Blacksn0w. MSFTGuys patched release is for BB 05.11.07 only.

The BlackSn0w Unlock by Geohot has been updated by MSFTGuy and PushFix to work with the 3.1.3 firmware and 05.11.07 baseband combination.

This modified version of BlackSn0w only works for phones upgraded with PwnageTool or Sn0wbreeze. Those who have updated to OS 3.1.3 by any other method will have the 05.12.01 baseband.

According to iHackintosh, the updated unlock also fixes a small bug that appears to make WiFi much more stable.

1: use iTunes 9.0.2 (Downlod here) and restore / update to firmware 3.2.1(Download here)

2: jailbreak it by using BlckSn0w RC3 (Put phone in Recovery mode)
3: use iphoen explorer or iphone browser (Downlaod HERE)

Those of you who have already installed blackra1n RC1 or RC2 should just run the the app and touch on “ra1n”, which has been added now instead of “Icy”. This will upgrade blackra1n to RC3. Now simply follow the instruction written in Step 5 below to unlock your iPhone with 3.1.2 firmware on 05.11.07 baseband.

Step 1: Download the latest version of iTunes if you haven’t already. Download link is given below.

Step 2: Update/restore to the original (stock) iPhone firmware 3.1.2 on your iPhone by using the latest version of iTunes. Download link for iPhone Firmware 3.1.2 is given at the end of the post.

Step 3: You will now have to jailbreak your iPhone running on iPhone 3.1.2 firmware with blackra1n RC3. Follow the complete step by step guide posted here in order to jailbreak your iPhone 3G/3GS with blackra1n RC3.

Step 4: Once you are done with the jailbreak, start the blackra1n app and you should now see “sn0w” option as can be seen from the screenshot below:

It appears some users are having wifi issues. Try a "Reset Network Settings" Also, this just enables custom MobileConfig files. To fully enable tethering, go here on your iPhone and download a MobileConfig file for your carrier. Watch out for carrier fees for tethering.

the iPhone OS 3.0 was presented. Most of the things Apple presented were more interesting for developers, than for users, but there are also some really good new features for costumers. Apple says that there are more than 100 new features build in. But first of all the most important thing for users: iPhone OS is already available for developers and will be available for normal users in summer. Here is a short summary of the most important new features.

MMS

The SMS app won't exist anymore. It will be replaced by "Messages". This App looks exactly like the SMS app, with the little difference, that you will be able to send vCards, photos, GPS information and voice memos. Of course you'll be still able to send SMS.

Cut/Copy/Paste

Cut Copy and Paste is going to work in every application. If you double tap on a word, copy & paste will open. You can copy or paste single words and whole texts. You can also copy texts in Safari and photos. To undo your paste, you simply have to shake your device.

Bluetooth

You'll be able to play games with other iPhone users via bluetooth. Another iPhone OS supports is A2DP.

Landscape

This is not something really new. But something really great! Now every "key app" (Mail, Messages, Notes) is going to use the landscape keyboard!

Search

Until now the only app you could search in was contacts. This is going to change.- there will be a search bar in every "key app"- If you want to search your whole phone you can use spotlight. This is a new feature which is integrated in a new home screen. It allows you to search for everything you have on your iPhone, for example apps, songs or contacts.

Voice Memos

This is a new app, which enables the possibility to record voice memos. It also allows to edit the memo or to share it using email or MMS.

Push

Yes, push has finally arrived on the iPhone. It is going to work exactly as presented on the WWDC. Now every app has the possibility to inform the user if something important happened, for example if you got a new IM message.

Micropayment

The new In-App Commerce lets the user buy new features directly in the App you are using, for example new levels for games.NavigationThe iPhone OS 3.0 will support "turn by turn". There are no details about how it is going to work, but it is finally here.

The update will be free for all iPhone users, iPod Touch user will have to pay 9.99$. The first iPhone generation wont be able to send or receive MMS, because of its hardware.This all sounds quite impressive to us and we can't wait to update our iPhones to 3.0. Every iPhone user knows it. The more Homescreen pages you have, the more difficult it is to navigate through them. iSpazio has announced a soon release of TapSB via Cydia. It is a little Springboard modification, which allows you to navigate between your Homescreens very easy!It looks similar to "Spaces" on a Mac.

So what does it do?
If you double tap on your homescreen, TapSB will open. Now you can see 6 Pages at a time.
