Galaxy S brand from Samsung has been popular in Korea for a while. It’s only been 45 days since Samsung first launched the same brand in US and already sold 1M units in just 45 days. This is even more impressive considering the Verizon version, Samsung Facinate, hasn’t even launched yet. Many believe Samsung Galaxy S line of smartphones running Android OS on 4 inch touchscreen are true iPhone Killers.

Here is the latest iPhone Killer from Samsung that’s shipped with its own leather cover to protect the touchscreen. It is also the latest phone running Samsung’s own Bada OS system, instead of the popular Android OS like everybody else.

The Wave 723 will be available next month in Germany and will be gradually rolled out to other European markets including Southeast Asia, the Middle East Asia, and Africa.

You all know LG is one of the major player in the handset market. (#3 in the world) And yet, their smartphone market share is tiny 1.2% last quarter. You can almost write many business books on why they weren’t able to keep up with Apple, RIM, Motorola, Samsung, and Nokia.

LG is not ready to give up yet. They have increased their R&D and Marketing budget to fight the smartphone fight with their new line of smartphones named “Optimus”. The phone pictured above is “Optimus One”, running Google Android OS just other everybody else. The only difference that’s more of inside is that they are going to be using Nvidia’s Tegra chipset versus the popular Qualcomm Snapdragon or Samsung Hummingbird.
