GRE Vocabulary by McGraw Hill: not the cheapest GRE training app around. But it’s another decent app to practice your vocabulary before your test. It combines audio + text for study on the go.

Mathemagics: this app was not specifically developed for the GRE exam takers. But it has plenty of shortcuts you can use to calculate math equations in your head faster. If you know the exam material inside and out, techniques from apps like this can give you an edge.

Getting very high GRE scores requires hard work and dedication on your part. You are going to have to read the official guides cover to cover. The above GRE apps also help you better prepare for this exam.

We have been hearing a lot of rumors about the next generation iPhone and mini iPad in the past few weeks. Apple is going to release a 4 inch iPhone to the market later this year. At least, that is what most experts have come to accept at this point. The mini iPad story is a bit harder to figure out. Steve Jobs was never a fan of small tablets. Considering the number of iPad 3 units that Apple is selling, the company simply has not had a great reason to make a 7 inch iPad. Multiple sources have now reported that Apple could revisit the idea of introducing an iPad mini to the market.

The iPad has been hard to compete with for other tablet makers. It is priced just right and has a beautiful ecosystem around it. Companies such as Amazon and B&N have been taking some sales away from Apple with their budget tablets. iMore is now reporting that Apple will bring a small iPad to the market for around $200 – $250. The cheapest model will start at 8 GB. The device is going to be a scaled down version of the current iPad with a pixel density of 326 ppi or so.

With that strategy, Amazon and Samsung are going to have a very hard time staying competitive. But we can’t imagine Apple offering an iPad for such a low price. Even though Apple has been quite aggressive with its iPad pricing strategy, it is still a premium brand. Competing with budget tablets such as the Kindle Fire with prices like that does not seem like something Apple would pursue.

Considering that Apple is getting ready to introduce a 4 inch iPhone, the idea of an iPad mini making its debut in October does not sound that crazy. But considering that Apple is interested in maintaining its high profit margins, we have a hard time accepting the rumored pricing strategy for the iPad mini.

Apple is going to have a very busy year in courts considering that it is going after Samsung and being sued by the government for price manipulation in the e-book market. Samsung and Apple were supposed to get together to resolve their differences over patents. It seems the first round of recent talks has failed. Unless another round of talks is ordered, the issues between both companies will be addressed in a trial.

Some experts were hoping for Apple and Samsung to put some sort of agreement in place in their patent wars. According to Korea Times, the executives for these companies could not get over their differences. The next step seems to be trial at this point. Apple was always in a stronger position with its patents. This could take months to resolve through. That is unless the companies reach an agreement before June 27th.

The Samsung issue is not the only thing Apple needs to worry about these days. The U.S. government is essentially accusing Apple and 5 top publishers of price collusion which has cost consumers millions of dollars. The company is fighting back by claiming that it has not conspired with anyone to challenge Amazon’s dominance in the e-book industry.

Apple’s entry into e-book distribution is classic procompetitive conduct …. For Apple to be subject to hindsight legal attack for a business strategy well-recognized as perfectly proper sends the wrong message to the market… The government’s complaint against Apple is fundamentally flawed as a matter of fact and law.

Apple said in court papers. A couple of top publishers have already settled their case so the issue remains a complicated one for Apple. Will Apple settle this with the government soon? That remains to be seen.

We have been hearing rumors about Apple’s plans to bring a 4 inch screen iPhone to the market in 2012. These rumors are nothing new. They have been around for some time. It is hard to take iPhone rumors seriously without some kind of evidence. MacRumors has been able to get its hands on photos of what seems to be the iPhone 5′s front-panel. They suggest that the new iPhone will have a 4.1 inch display.

This goes against the popular rumor that suggested the next iPhone would have a 3.95 inch screen. The next iPod Touch is also expected to receive a larger display. A larger screen iPhone would allow Apple to keep the device competitive against top Android smartphones. The authenticity of these parts can’t be determined though. That means Apple could always change plans or stick with what has been working so far.

Apple is likely to bring the next generation iPhone to the market in October. That is despite the 28 nm baseband radio chip shortage at Qualcomm.

We believe the iPhone 5 will represent the biggest consumer electronics product launch of 2012 as well as the biggest device upgrade cycle in smartphone history .. We believe the iPhone 5 will have a completely redesigned body style, which may more closely resemble the metallic rear panel of the current iPad. explains Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster. From the sound of it, the iPhone 5 is going to be another monster iDevice for Apple.

The gTar is designed to give you plenty of practice. It enables you to see your phone’s charging port in the darkest rooms. That means you won’t have to rely on guesswork to connect your iPhone to a power source during the night. What’s nice about the CordLite is the fact that it is a touch sensitive cable. The CordLite only illuminates when you touch it. This is up for grabs for $30 on Kickstarter.

A larger iPhone was not the only thing Steve Jobs was working on. As the Biographer Walter Isaacson revealed a while ago, Mr. Jobs thought he had cracked the code for a standalone Apple TV set. As J. Crew CEO and Apple board member Mickey Drexler revealed in an interview with Fast Company, Jobs was dreaming about the possibility of making an iCar:

Look at the car industry; it’s a tragedy in America. Who is designing the cars? Steve’s dream before he died was to design an iCar… it would’ve been probably 50% of the market. He [Jobs] never did design it.

Chances are we won’t see an Apple iCar anytime soon. But considering how Apple is penetrating new markets all the time, it is not such a crazy idea. Who knows what could happen in 5 to 10 years.

Which one of these iPhone accessories do you find the most impressive?

Steve Jobs may be gone but not forgotten. Under his leadership, Apple managed to tun around its fortunes and become of one of the most valuable companies in the tech world. Mr. Jobs was struggling in his last days but he had the chance to work closely on the redesigned iPhone before his death in October. At least that is what Bloomberg is reporting at this point.

It has been a while since Apple changed the iPhone’s design dramatically. The iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S have many similarities on the surface. But just like many other smartphone makers, Apple seems ready to introduce a 4 inch smartphone. iPhone fans have to wait till September or October to get their hands on one of these devices though.

In addition to the larger screen, the next iPhone could be compatible with the new wireless networks by AT&T and Verizon. It will have a faster processor and decent battery life. In the meantime, Apple has gain control of iPhone5.com domain. We highly doubt that Apple will use the domain to promote the iPhone 5 directly. But it is a sign that the company is getting more active when it comes to protecting its trademarks.

Don’t want to wait till October to get an iPhone? You can pick up an iPhone 4 for $49.99 at Best Buy. A 2-year contract is needed to get that price. Target and RadioShack have also offered discounts on the iPhone 4 in the past. As we get closer to the release date of the next iPhone, we are going to see more deals like these.
