Best Argument:

I believe that the best argument in the movie was made by Jury #11, the immigrant. Jury #11’s argument was that, Juries have a responsibility of deciding the fate of a person they have never met before. So it is a Juror’s primary duty to make unbiased decisions without bringing any personal conflicts or any personal interests in play. Because in the end, Juries have nothing to gain or loose from a case, so why take it personally?

According to me, this is one argument that stands on its own merits. Jury #11 is right when he says that Juries should make unbiased decisions and not take any case personally. Because that’s what Juries are for. Juries can make or break a case. One simple vote or one simple decision by the Jury can send an innocent person to jail for life. Or even worst, it can cost a person his life. So before passing their decision on a case, Juries should first look at all the facts and all the reasonable doubts, and then vote in an unbiased way.

Worst Argument:

I believe that the worst argument was made by Jury #3, the emotionally distraught father. Jury #3’s argument was that no matter what anyone says, the boy is guilty of murdering his own father because the facts say so. Jury #3 was very stubborn with a streak of sadism and never listened to anyone. Well, the reason I say that Jury #3’s argument was the worst is because, what Jury #3 failed to understand is that facts can be made up.

You cannot decide a persons fate based on facts alone. Juries must question the facts and clear all the reasonable doubts before deciding whether a person in guilty or not guilty.

Jury #3 was taking this case personally, so he refused to question the facts or any reasonable doubts. Jury #3 was determined in proving the boy guilty; he never even bothered to have any reasonable doubts.

One of the biggest problems with our generation is that we use the words ‘Dude’ and ‘Babe’ too much. These days, people prefer living a rampant lifestyle rather than a healthy lifestyle; especially girls who are always in a never ending pursuit of ‘Size Zero’. I am not making a gender biased statement but instead speaking from a factual vantage point. The number of anorexic and bulimic women has increased drastically in the 21^st century. Why? The only logical reason I can come up with is, Insecurities. If you are not happy with who you are, it reflects on the outside.

In order to deal with their insecurities, people either start eating a lot or people stop eating all together. ‘Diet’ is the magic word that people tend to use. It may sound weird in a way, but almost every single friend of mine, both male and female, are on some kind of diet. Turkey Noodle Diet, Angelina Jolie Diet, Bill Cosby Diet, etc… The whole concept of diet has been altered to fit the virtual reality of a person. To begin with, some people don’t even know what the word diet means. Dictionary.com defines the word Diet as, a particular selection of food, esp. as designed or prescribed to improve a person's physical condition or to prevent or treat a disease. These days, when we hear the word Diet, the first thought that comes to our mind is ‘Stop Eating’. But in real terms, Diet means eating healthy and nutritious food that helps us stay both physically and mentally fit.

Healthy eating is not about strict nutrition philosophies, staying unrealistically thin, or depriving yourself of the foods you love. Rather, it’s about feeling great, having more energy, and keeping yourself as healthy as possible– all of which can be achieved by learning some nutrition basics and using them in a way that works best for you.

Healthy eating begins with learning how to “eat smart”. It’s not just what you eat, but how you eat. Your food choices can reduce your risk of illnesses such as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes as well as defend against depression. Additionally, learning the habits of healthy eating can improve your health by boosting your energy, sharpening your memory and stabilizing your mood.

Instead of being overly concerned with counting calories or measuring portion sizes, think of your diet in terms of color, variety and freshness, then it should be easier to make healthy choices. Focus on finding foods you love and easy recipes that incorporate a few fresh ingredients. Gradually, your diet will become healthier and more delicious. Start slow and make changes to your eating habits over time. Trying to make your diet healthy overnight isn’t realistic or smart. Changing everything at once usually leads to cheating or giving up on your new eating plan. Make small steps, like adding a salad (full of different color vegetables) to your diet once a day or switching from butter to olive oil when cooking. As your small changes become habit, you can continue to add more healthy choices to your diet.

Here are some tips for choosing healthy foods:

· Fresh vegetables are the core of a healthy diet. Studies have shown that vegan’s tend to live a longer life than non-vegan’s. Use vegetables to replace meat and processed foods.
· Skinless white meat is generally better choice than red meat.
· Egg whites are a healthy choice to fulfill your body’s protein needs. But remember, only the egg whites and not the egg yolk (The yellow thing).
· Avoid eating junk foods. Ex. Pizza, Cheese Burgers, etc…

The point is, Don't commit suicide by starving yourself to death. Eat Bitches. Eat.

After World War III (2060 A.D), Blackwater Inc. took over the U.S government. This event marked the end of democracy. Rules were being dictated. Fear was used to control the people. Our new President had ordered the crusaders to kill anyone who disobeyed the rules. Many religions were exterminated. Humanity was back to rubbles once again.

My name is Tyler Durden (Born 9^th July 1990). I was part of the U.S Military’s ‘Immortal Soldier’ program. I was one of the 20 subjects selected for the experiment. Others failed; I succeeded. Everything was perfect until a war broke out in the Middle East. The war soon spread across the world. It was a nuclear war. Billions of people died. Most of the vegetation was destroyed. The harmful gases drilled a big hole in the ozone layer. Water was evaporating at a rapid pace. People were turning into Hannibal’s; eating their own race. This was certainly not the world I had imagined to live in.

As I walk through the streets of New York, I see misery; anger; agony and destruction, everywhere I look. It’s not a pleasant sight. People are looking at me with hunger in their eyes. Three young men approach me with guns in their hands. I stay calm. They ask me my name and my purpose of being there. I don’t say a word. I quietly listen to what they have to say. I take a deep breath and I exhale slowly. I open my eyes. WTF! I’m in the bed with my wife. What? You mean to say, this was a dream. Holy jeepers! That was one hell of a dream.

I look at my wife; and trust me, she never looked so beautiful before. At that moment, she was the most beautiful women in the entire world. I just cannot take my eyes off her. Its 6:30 in the morning. I need to get ready for work. I jump out of the bed and finish up all my daily chores. I’m ready to experience reality. I reach out to open the door with my fingers crossed. I open the door. New York is resurrected. I see people all over the place; chasing the American Dream. What a sight.

Just to make sure I wasn’t a schizo, I approached a gentleman walking his dog on the street, and I pinched him. The gentleman looked at me with burning rage in his eyes and said, ”What is you F*****g problem, you son of a b***h.” I smiled back at him and said, “Thank You J”.

It may sound weird in a way, but this whole dreamy experience about the future made me realize that; The fate of humanity will be decided by humans and not by god. If we as a civilization, keep repeating the same mistakes over and over again, we will soon be obsolete. No religion in this world ever teaches to kill; its how we interpret the teachings. War is certainly not the solution to any problem. We should focus more on creating, and less on destroying.

Being a Hindu, Gay Marriage is a totally out of the world concept for me. Maybe its just the way I was brought up. But keeping my personal beliefs aside, I think that every human being has a right to choose his or her sexual orientation and that no one in this world has the authority to deny them this right. I feel that we are turning into a society of barbarians where we beat or even kill people for being Gay. Thousands of hate crimes directed towards Gay people take place everyday, around the world. This is the main reason why so many people are afraid to come out of the closets.

Ask just about anyone, they'll all tell you they're in favor of equal rights for homosexuals. Just name the situation, and ask. They'll all say, YES, gays should have the same rights in housing, jobs, public accommodations, and should have equal access to government benefits, equal protection of the law, etc…But when it comes to gay marriage, all the talk about equality stops dead cold.
Nearly seventy percent of people in the U.S. oppose gay marriage, almost the same proportion as are otherwise supportive of gay rights. This means that many of the same people who are even passionately in favor of gay rights oppose gays on this one issue.

It's because there is a lot of misunderstanding about what homosexuality really is, as well as the erroneous assumption that gay people enjoy the same civil rights protections as everyone else. There are also a lot of stereotypes about gay relationships, and even a great deal of misunderstanding of what marriage itself is all about.

Some of The Main Arguments Against Gay Marriage Are:
1.      Marriage is an institution between one man and one woman.
2.      Marriage is for procreation.
3.      Same-sex couples aren't the optimum environment in which to raise children.
4.      Gay relationships are immoral and violate the sacred institution of marriage.
5.      Marriages are for ensuring the continuation of the species.
6.      Same-sex marriage would threaten the institution of marriage.
7.      Marriage is traditionally a heterosexual institution.
8.      Same-sex marriage would take us down a slippery slope towards legalized incest, bestial marriage, polygamy and all manner of other horrible consequences.
9.      If gay marriage is legalized, homosexuality would be promoted in the public schools.

I can literally go on and on with the list of arguments against Gay Marriages.

I think its time for us to grow up and understand that in a democratic society, every citizen has a right to choose his or her sexual orientation.

I think its time for us to grow up and understand that in a democratic society, every citizen has a right to choose his or her lifestyle, be it Gay or Straight. And the same applies to marriage.

I am curious to know what the fate of Gay Marriages will be. Because this is one event that will transcend our civilization to the next level.

My First Sky Dive

At 13,000 Ft, McDonald's Chicken Burger was the only thing I could think about. Because I was pretty sure that this was going to be my last day on planet earth. In order to overcome my fear of heights, the ultimate solution I could come up with was Sky Diving. Jesus! What was I thinking?

My heart was about to break my rib cage and pop out. I could feel the immense adrenaline rush in my body. My veins were about to explode. Time had stopped completely. I could see, hear and feel everything clearly. I looked to my right and I could see the wicked smile on my instructors face. He looked like the grim reaper in a sky diver’s suit. My body was ripping the air apart and approaching the ground at a speed of Million Miles/Hr. Gravity never felt so merciless before. My mouth was filled with air and my teeth were about to be blown away. Irrespective of all this, for the first time in my life, I was in the moment; completely. The many emotions and states of consciousness that I experienced in those exhilarating 80 seconds, I had never experienced those in my entire life of 20 years. Don’t get too excited because by the time I realized that, I had hit 3,000 Ft. It was about time to open my parachute.

I reached for the handle with my right hand and pulled it with every ounce of energy I had left in my body. The parachute was set free from captivity. At first the parachute chickened out. It was reluctant to spread its wings. I had to force it to open up by literally shaking my entire body in mid-air. I did a little Chiggy Wiggy move that I had learnt in my salsa class. But anyways, the parachute did open and to my surprise, I survived. Voila !!!

I learnt one of the most important lessons of life from this breathtaking experience, and that is, McDonald's Chicken Burger does taste good after a nice Sky Dive.

According to me, freedom of speech is an illusion created by the government in order to exploit the masses. In the United States, there is no such thing as freedom of speech. We breed in a controlled environment; like rats in the cage. Throughout our lives we are taught that the first amendment guarantees freedom of speech; but what we don’t know is that this privilege/right applies only to certain situations. For example, we cannot use profanity on high school/college campuses; the search results on Google are filtered as per the government requirements. What this means is that, if I blog about a certain religion, Google will block my blog from its search results. In some cases, the government has the authority to take down an entire website.
I believe that freedom of speech, in whatever form it may be, is one of the most important elements of democracy. Every person has his/her opinion, which according to me should be respected and not just criticized bluntly. Instead of calling someone a nut or a moron, you should give a logical reason for why you think the other person is wrong. Hey, after all, even you have the so called right to freedom of speech; use it.
