The Fear of Cancer

In today's generation, a simple lymph in any part of the body gives shiver to anyone who has it.

When we touch a lymph especially on places of our body where it should not be, our tendency is to seek professional help. When we speak of professional help, we go to doctor to doctors. Seeking advises and recommendations.

When the doctor mention the word "tumor" we crashed down. And shiver in fear. Our minds works rapidly. Our heart is pounding. All negative vibes are internalized. We even sometimes cry....in fear

Who wouldn't? We all know that tumor is always an indication of cancer. And cancer is a terminal disease. Cancer is a disease for the rich. What will happen to ordinary person, earning minimum wage if he is detected with such illness? What more if he is unemployed? These are instances that will really makes us think, "what will happen?"

This happens with my husband. One day he touched a lump on his left breast just under his tit. For a few days he ignored it. But a week or so, he started complaining that it hurts. I ignored him. Saying and convincing him that maybe some hard objects landed on his breast or maybe he was beaten a little harder. And he agreed that maybe he got it when he bump hard on his motorcycle. For awhile that is what we keep in mind.

After 4 or 5 weeks that nothing change with the situation and an occasional pain he felt, we decided to consult a doctor. Upon the doctors initial diagnosis (touching the breast and the lump under the tit) his findings ... "Gynecomastia".

GYNECOMASTIA is an abnormality in hormone production of a male individual. He said that Gynecomastia is caused by too much production of estrogen instead of testosterone, thus making his breast to enlarge.

The doctor advised him to undergo breast ultrasound to have more accurate findings. Since my husband is too old for breast enlargement. Which usually happens for teenage boys. Upon the result of ultrasound, the findings is different. It contradicts the doctors initial findings. Which gives us fear.
In ultrasound result, there are two possibilities that causes the breast lump.

The words "complex" and "cyst" are words that makes us fear the result. And because the result of the ultrasound and the doctors' initial findings did not match, he was recommended for biopsy. We went home that day, thinking what to do. We didn't decide yet if we want to undergo biopsy since an operation will be done and it is expensive. Budget is another issue.

We stayed home for awhile and looks for guidance and opinions from friends and relatives. But most nights my husband doesn't sleep well during this stage. And I caught him thinking deeply. He became silent and less active. I know that he is in fear. I know that he thinks of his condition. He is stressed out. He loss weight. He rarely went out of our home.

We were thinking of asking for a second opinion. We are considering going to Manila to ask other doctors. But with my husband attitude towards his illness and the constant complain of pain and not sleeping well, we decided to go on with the operation.

The biopsy as advised by the doctor will give us more accurate result. A 100% accuracy of the condition. So holding on to that, we went on with it. The two (2) weeks of waiting for the result is a torture. Both of us are in fear. Both are anxious. Even if I wanted to show him that I am strong (for one of us must be), deep inside I was killing myself very slowly.

So when the hospital's laboratory officer texted me that the result of the biopsy is available, I left my work without notice to my boss. Went home, told my husband that the result is ready. Even texted the doctor's secretary to ask about the availability of my husband's surgeon. We want immediate action. We want to end the torture.

There is fear. Fear of the result. What if's. What is it is positive for cancer? What if, what if..

But the result will end the torture we are going through. There will be an answer. Medication will be given early if it is. And peace of mind if it is not.

Relief was a gift.... Tears of joy flood in... And he almost hug the surgeon when we heard the result.
"Gynecomastia"..

He is now in a month of recovery from surgery.

We are now on third week of recovering from silent torture...

Online Selling

I have been in online selling for quite sometime now. It was fun and of course fulfilling. I started reselling by copying pictures in one of the best korean fashion online store in the Philippines (will not mention site for it is still one of my suppliers). The items are really good and the quality is competitive to the quality you can bought from malls.

Then I started joining groups in facebook. Posting items to the groups really attract customers, but I noticed that whenever I sent them pm's for the price of my items they just said thank you. Few really go through ordering.

I have patiently post and gain some loyal customers. Then lately I found out why most of those who find my items interesting didn't pursue buying... My items are a little bit pricey...

I find some suppliers (with stores from divisoria- 999, 168, 11/88, Dragon8 and other Divisoria malls) are on facebook. My items are available from Divisoria stores (but some are not of the same quality, photos are for inspiration only.)

Still, buying and reselling from these stores was a great move. You just have to be able to select your supplier whose items are really of good if not high quality. This is not impossible. There are lot of stores from divi who sell really competitive items.

I wish this is a start... Again..

I have downloaded an app which permits me to post blogs here in blogger.

Since cellular phone come in handy it will be a great help for me to continue this hobby.

I have posted one to make a try of this application. It will take a few more posts to learn the t's and d's of this app but it will be a very good start.

So far I find it easy, but posts are simple, I will have to navigate more to make posts have a little touch of me and make it more interesting...

Big word. Simple meaning. Two connotations.
That is the word "contented" for me.

You do not find true happiness if you cannot be contented with what you have, but you cannot reach milestones and try to achieve more if you are contented with what you already have.
Contradictory right?

Maybe it is in a persons point of view how he sees contentment. Never stop aiming for more but don't forget to be happy with what you got.

Complicated but true.

Dreams do Come True

I always dreamed of having my own house. Even if it is small. Living in a different boarding house for over a decade is comfortable but too expensive.

This year, 2014, that one simple dream was accomplished. I have made that little dream of me come to life.

Late last year when we started our little home. Accounts of the progress will be posted via photos.

Each day after school, I went in to check what has been done that day.

Since it is design to have 2nd floor, the base of the roof should be strong.

its was pure cement they used. but after staying for a few months with heavy rains, this roof needs a minor repair.

looks like it's done, but its not. It's all just a box, no furnishing yet.

they have started with the kitchen, and I am glad.


This is it. After 3 months it has more plants now in front and livelier view.

There were a lot more improvements now than that last photo. I am proud because from now on, I may be still living in a small box, but it's mine and I'm not paying for it every month.

This is a simple dream that I have when I was young, and its coming to life. :)

Baguio Flowers

These flower collections were taken during our visit last March 29 and 30 in Baguio City. Most of these flowers are from Burnham Park. We are not lucky to visit Botanical Garden but I hope to visit it next time.

I don't know the name of each, so I will not label them.

#OOTD: Keeping it Light

     March 06, 2014 is my second JS attendance. I never joined any Junior-Senior Prom when I was in my high school. But being an educator, I couldn't say no again. Attendance is a must.
      I decided not wear a dress. It was Junior and Seniors night, they will shine. I don't have to compete the night with them. It's all theirs.
     So white jeans is the main outfit. I have to decide what to wear with it. I checked and rechecked my cabinet but nothing nice to partner with white. Then decided to check my own online shop's inventory.

I am not much on matchy matchy... I can't even imagine which one goes with another one.

I just decide until I tried them and feel good with it. hehehe..

I already have a perfect top for the white Jeans. What's next? How to accentuate?

I don't want to spend too much for this event.

I already have this brown Twinky 4" heeled sandals about a month ago

but used it only once.

I just have to accentuate it with brownish semi precious stones bracelet.

Multi-colored necklace is available so no problem with the neck.

It was perfect it adds color and emphasis.

I already had a mint green two tone metallic clutch which will go perfectly with my outfit.

Bless me, Zalora is a mall within reach. I found an earrings that goes with the bag.

Outfit completed. The night starts young but ended early morning.

It was comfortable to move, dance and work.

This is the first time I have use this brand of shampoo and conditioner.

I will share with you my experience.

How to Use:
    We all know that every product we bought has a label that says the proper usage or suggested process on how we use the product. I always read labels. I read the ingredients, the distributor/manufacturer. I read the possible result, or the expected result that the product claims to be.
    But I'll tell you, most of the times I don't follow instructions hehehe. (just being hard headed). I do follow instructions only if I am not familiar with the item or the use of the item. On gadgets or electronics especially. But to shampoo and conditioner? Ha! I have my own way. lol
My Usage:
    When shampooing, even sachets, I always do the following steps:

pour small quantity of shampoo in a dipper with water

you can control the amount of shampoo according to your need

whisk the shampoo with you hands until shampoo is dissolve and bubbles appear

shampoo is already mixed with water.

Once mixture is done, that's when I massage it into my hair and scalp. For conditioner, it's very simple.

pour an acceptable amount of conditioner into my palm.

apply into hair and lather

Rating:
    I will rate the shampoo according to it's function. 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest, and I will share why I rate such.
    Fragrance: (4/5)
       I give it a four (4) for both shampoo and conditioner. I believe that shampoos with lower frangrance contents are more effective than shampoos with too much fragrance. It smells so mild that you will love. Why 4 not 5? Because the smell after hair is dry doesn't long. So your hair don't smell fresh after long hours of work. :)
     Packaging: (5/5)

      Oh I love the package. So unique. Not the usual round bottle or the rectangle one. It looks elegant. Big 5 for that.
      Performance: (4/5)
      Performance is commendable. I love the work it done to my hair. There is no tangle, no frizz and it was soft after few days of continuous usage.
      User friendly: (5/5)
      I'll give five to that. Yes it's very user friendly. User friendly in terms that it is not irritating to the eyes. Or was I just too careful??? lolz. :)
      Availability: (3/5)
     In terms of availability I'll give 3 to that or else lower. This brand is not available in small groceries and especially in sari-sari store. And since big groceries and supermarket is not available in neighborhood, user has to travel just to buy this brand. But it will comes in handy if you are in malls.
      Price: (4/5)
   It is affordable. I will surely buy this brand if it only is available in stores near us. :)
      Staying Power: (4/5)
     Since the smell is so mild I don't expect it to stay for long hours of busy day. And I was right. But it sure is refreshing and I'm sure I'm not smelly after a long day. luv luv..

I first heard about strapless slippers about a couple of years back. I was skeptical about the idea of using one. I can't imagine how it would work. Until I found a store selling this kind of slipper for an affordable price. I bought one for myself to try out.
On the first day that I have used the slipper, here's what I've found.....

FAQ
    1. It is made of EVA material. The sole is weaved plain and ripple and vamp is either cloth pattern or silk printing pattern.
    2. It contains nontoxic special adhesive medicinal glue built into the sandal that sticks to your feet.
    3. Not advised for sensitive skin. I personally suggest that its also not best for watery feet (soles that almost always perspire).
    4. Never put the pair slippers face to face. Use the protective covering when storing or not using the sandals.
    5. Oils and lotions at the bottom of your feet is not advised. Always keep both feet and slipper dry.
6. Sandals is reusable again and again.

How to Care:
   1. Keep out of dirt and dusty areas.
   2. In case the slipper is dirty and the adhesive seems no longer working, wash it with water and soap along with bristle brush and allow them to air dry completely. Best if you put them under the sun.
   3. Make sure the soap you are using is not hand or beauty soap that may have lotions or moisturizers in it.
   4. You can also use liquid dish washing soap. It works very well in preserving the adhesive.
   5. Always keep the slipper clean and dry.
   6. Do not machine wash. Hand wash only.

How to Use
    1. Peel off protective layer
    2. Make sure your feet are Clean and Dry
    3. Place heel first and step down onto treads
    4. To remove, gently peel off treads from sole. Never stick treads face to face
    5. When dirty, wash with soap and water and air dry.

Result
     1. No strap hassle
     2. No foot rub
     3. No flipflop
     4. No tan lines!!

Review
    I used my strapless slippers during our Christmas Party together with a leggings. That was great!!!. It works well with any outfit. I was planning on getting henna tattoo but time is essential and I don't have much to spare. The slipper is very eye catching!!! Yes, I have the attention of the party that day! Not that I enjoyed or not enjoyed them. I don't care about the attention. But I care about my fashion. (hahaha...parang totoo)
    But to tell the truth, yes, I got the attention of my colleagues because of it. I know many are amazed but half of them are annoyed (smearing at me). Ha!!! Who cares?!?
    I have my slipper morning until afternoon. At first it was very strange. My feet feels so nude. But as time pass it seems like normal. Like I was just wearing something very very light. And it is very light. At the back of my mind I was thinking how to keep it to my feet until the end of the day. Since we were a bit busy (taking pictures of ourselves, lol) and running, walking here and there.... the slipper stays glued to my feet. I can even run with it.
The feeling take a 45-60 degree turn during the program. Since our program is in the gymnasium and area is dusty, the sides of the slipper where my feet cannot cover, gathered some dust and small stones. And sitting is not good either. In the afternoon, after long hours of sitting, the slipper seems like drying and air is penetrating my feet and the slipper. The glue cannot hold much better. I have to stand now and then to put my weight on the slipper to make sure it stays glued to my feet.
   After almost 8 hours, my feet is now sweating a few. Not much, just the left foot. So, a few sweat and a lot of dust for my new nude or strapless slippers. It almost give away.
   At the end, I still went home with the slippers on my feet. But I will never ever use it again outdoor.

      My findings...... the slippers will work well indoor. It will be best inside the house or the office. Best use to relax your feet from stressful shoes and heels but not compromising your soles for the cold of the floor.

Before anything else, I would very much like to thanks all the teacher's I have during my school days. All of them, from my Pre-Elementary, Elementary, Secondary and Tertiary Years and even post-graduate professor.

I would like to give my thanks for all the teacher's who have given me an inspiration and became my motivation.

Of course, there were times when teachers has not been very good but they became a challenge. To all of you, THANK YOU SO MUCH.

TEACHER'S DAY was celebrated this October 5, 2013. We have not celebrated with our colleagues in the school which frustrate us most. Our school Principal didn't approve it.

So in order to give ourselves a little relaxation time and away from stressful school work, our group of friends went for an afternoon date.

We celebrated by being kids again.

A fun full arcade games!!!

It was enjoyable being children and as simple as that,

we really TREASURED the time together.

Driving in an arcade car was my favorite.

I loved seeing my car stumble and roll over. hahaha.

Hearing my friends shout as she bumps in railings and walls was the best experience that day.

Who wouldn't love the games of the kids?!?!

Hours passed without us noticing it.

A little merienda before we go home.

The day has been successful and we have relaxed for a day.

Wishing all teachers in the world to be as happy and as relaxed as I am.

Give a little time for yourself and don't think always of the negatives.

Sometimes you have to forget about your work and think of yourselves.

Give yourselves a break!!

I have won in one of Firmoo+ giveaway. And yes at first I was reluctant since Firmoo+ is a glasses store and I am not comfortable wearing glasses unless it's a Sun Glass.

But I have not not use black most.
