Bill Nye, the harmless children's edu-tainer known as "The Science Guy," managed to offend a select group of adults in Waco, Texas at a presentation, when he suggested that the moon does not emit light, but instead reflects the light of the sun. As even most elementary-school graduates know, the moon reflects the light of the sun but produces no light of its own. But don't tell that to the good people of Waco, who were "visibly angered by what some perceived as irreverence," according to the Waco Tribune. Nye was in town to participate in McLennan Community College's Distinguished Lecture Series. He gave two lectures on such unfunny and adult topics as global warming, Mars exploration, and energy consumption. But nothing got people as riled as when he brought up Genesis 1:16, which reads: "God made two great lights -- the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars." The lesser light, he pointed out, is not a light at all, but only a reflector. At this point, several people in the audience stormed out in fury. One woman yelled "We believe in God!" and left with three children, thus ensuring that people across America would read about the incident and conclude that Waco is as nutty as they'd always suspected. This story originally appeared in the Waco Tribune, but the newspaper has mysteriously pulled its story from the online version, presumably to avoid further embarrassment.

This is why America is fucked: US Senator James Inhofe (R-OK), minority leader of Committee on Environment, denies science; says man-made climate change is impossible because it says so in Genesis 8:22, and it's "outrageous" to believe humans are "able to change what God is doing in the climate."

What the fuck, Christians.

Things like this make me cringe. The stupidity some of these people portray is almost too much for my brain to handle. If you're Christian, I'm okay with that. I may not agree with your views, but every man to his own. But this is just plain downright stupid. I don't even have a proper explanation to why this man thinks this kind of ideaology is acceptable or believable by any means.

So a few months ago I started tting to do something called lucid dreaming. A lucid dream is a dream in which one is aware that one is dreaming. The term was coined by the Dutch psychiatrist and writer Frederik (Willem) van Eeden (1860–1932). In a lucid dream, the dreamer can actively participate in and manipulate imaginary experiences in the dream environment. Lucid dreams can seem real and vivid.

A lucid dream can begin in one of two ways. A dream-initiated lucid dream (DILD) starts as a normal dream, and the dreamer eventually concludes it is a dream, while a wake-initiated lucid dream (WILD) occurs when the dreamer goes from a normal waking state directly into a dream state, with no apparent lapse in consciousness.

So lucid dreaming is basically the act of realizing you are dreaming, making dreams more vivid, and ultimately slowing you to fly, kill dragons, and do whatever you want in you're dream. I've been training myself for the last few months, but becoming a professional takes years.

Yes, there have been a few drawbacks. One of the drawbacks is the all-too-scary "Wake-up-to-bed" phenomenon, scientifically known as Sleep Paralysis. Sleep paralysis is paralysis associated with sleep that may occur in healthy persons or may be associated with narcolepsy, cataplexy, and hypnagogic hallucinations. The pathophysiology of this condition is closely related to the normal hypotonia that occurs during REM sleep. When considered to be a disease, isolated sleep paralysis is classified as MeSH D020188.[2] Some evidence suggests that it can also, in some cases, be a symptom of migraine.[3][4]

Heres's my stance on what all this is about, and what this country needs. To survive, this country's going to need a new law banning trade of money for cheap-ass cuts. The big corporations think that as long as the people can't do anything about their shortcomings, they can stay being assholes. They government's basically got the same outlook. they think that if they don't have to come down out of their high tower, step into the shoes of the average American man fighting every day to keep his family stable and off the streets, and learn what the American family feels, they can continue to be cheapskakes. What this country needs is not another president. We need a goddamn hero. We need a game changer, a jack of all trades, a leader in what he does. we need a president that is not like other presidents, and that actually gives a flying shit about his people. I can't believe Obama hasn't done shit about this. He promised change for the American people and instead gave us hell. I'm gonna sit here and protest my ass off until this whole fuckin' thing falls from the core.

In the meantime here's an amazing rant on Wall Street, given by none other than Dylan Ratigan, who threw away the script and went full blown Braveheart in front of millions. We need a president like THIS man.

Daniel Tosh fans, prepare yourself for rage when you hear me say this. Daniel Tosh is a huge HUGE douchebag. Not the kind that walks along the New Jersey boardwalk and tries to hit on your girlfriend, but the kind that tries to be funny and have everybody think he's a deep, humorous soul. Not to say that he isn't funny, but he tries too hard to be quirky and have the croud like him. I KNOW he's not like that naturally. Any intelligent person can tell that. Here we go again with more bullshit being shoved down America's throat. Recently, the U.S. government ordered ALL medicinal Marijuana dispensaries in California to close within the next 45 days or face property confiscation and business closure. The reason? It violates their policy of the use of marijuana for recreational purposes. ...But... but... it's MEDICAL. not RECREATIONAL. Yeah, but apparently the government has noticed people taking advantage of the despensing, and using it for recreational use. Why have they NOW noticed this then? Their answer: "We haven't!" That's a load of bullshit. They say the "have been enforcing it, and cutting down on it," which is also, in my opinion, another load of bullshit. I haven't heard anything about this prior to this month. Isn't it a coincidence that this happened as the online petition to legalize Marijuana for recreational use (the online petition with the most signatures) reached 52,000 signatures? At least that's what I believe.

35 years ago, then 21-year-old Steve Jobs invented the first Apple computer in his garage. Before his creation, the personal computer was something you could fit in a University basement, or something created by the world's leading scientists and mathematicians. His iMac became a success, and later became the CEO of his own company, Apple Inc. he turned around the dying company and made it a hit. Apple's popularity never died, and grew over time. He later went on to release the first iPod in late 2001. The released countless gadgets in the following years including the iPhone, iTouch, iPad, and a dozen, advanced generations of them. He produced technology that will never EVER be forgotten. However, while becoming a legend, Jobs was simultaniously fighting Pancreatic Cancer. He received a liver transplant in early 2009. The illness caught up with him regardless, and he passed away at 7:30 AM today (October 5, 2011). Steve Jobs will never be forgotten, and the legend of his technological creations will live on forever.

Toddlers and Tiaras

Lord have mercy. those were the exact words I uttered when I first heard of this show. What was TLC thinking? Most of all, what were the MOTHERS thinking when they turned their fun-loving, 4-year old daughters into drama queens of the runway? WHY? WHY? WHYYY?! I can't even begin to wrap my head around this. The women parade their daughters around the country like pop stars and check them into hundreds and hundreds of beauty pageants. Not only does this take away the toddler's need to live a normal life; that of a kindergartener, but it puts unbelievable amounts of stress on the child and her mother. I think these people (the mothers, of course) shouldn't be allowed to procreate... and I'm not even exaggerating. It's terrible. Maybe I could forgive some of my hatred if the daughters loved the pageant world, but even on the documentary, the kids didn't like it at all. they cried when they had to attend beauty pageants (to which their mothers chastised them and forced them into the ballrooms) and tried to suck up as many opportunities to live normally as possible. When the mothers (3 of them) stopped at a local car & body shop to repair their minivan, the girls fled the vehicle, took off their heels and piercings, and ran around the shop, joking and gossiping. Can't the mothers take a hint? sheesh. I'm just surprised this hasn't gotten more attention.

We all remember what happened on September 11, 2001. We all remember what we were doing when we heard the news, who told us, and how we reacted emotionally. For some, It was utter sadness as they new a loved one was in the midst of the conundrum. For others it was panic, as the foretelling of possible future attacks overwhelmed the media. But for almost all Americans, horror and disbelief resonated through our minds as we tried to recap what the hell we had just heard on the television. As we mourn and remember this tragic attack, we often think of how much we take our safety for granted. blackout!

So recently while sitting around, doing nothing of importance, all of the elctricity died. i thought maybe it was a neighborhood blackout. I sat around while thinking of what had happened, and what to do that didn't involve electricity. turning on the radio, I realised this was NO neighborhood blackout. this power outage covered the entire county of San Diego, along with the ENTIRE Baja California, and some other scattered parts of southern California. Holy shit. And as if that wasn't enough, I waited almost a day for power to return. But, really, it wasn't that bad. In fact, it was pretty good. The blackout showed Californians a day without electricity, and gave everyone a lively and neighbor-like outlook. People turned on their radios and listened to the radio host lively talk about how Southern Californians were having fun coping with what would have seemed like a bad experience. While bonfires flickered in the moonlight, people walked over to the next house to get to know their neighbors better. some actually joined their bonfires and spent the evening talking, laughing, and telling stories. It bonded San Diegans, and showed us that living without electricity can be an enjoyable experience once you get to harness it and deal with it firsthand.

So right now I'd like to apologize for not posting in a few days, but the reason's acceptable. I'm visiting family in Atlanta, Georgia. When I finally got here after an entire day of flight and airports, my skin was raped senseless by the humidity and heat. I mean, I literally felt like i was stuck in an oven at 350° Fahrenheit. Nothing prepared me for what my poor skin felt. How do you live here? How do Georgians do this EVERY SINGLE DAY? What the hell? So after I finally got used to this bullshit, I was able to get my bearings and roam the city in a rented Nissan. While sitting in the car, we pulled into uptown Atlanta. first thing I noticed: The outskirts of the city are empty. It looked like a giant just huffed everybody away. It was like a ghost - town. As we got into the heart of Uptown, The amount of people slowly got higher, and finally, the streets were packed. As the sedan drove closer to "the Underground" (the underground shopping mall) I began to notice something. It was almost ALL black folks. I'm not being racist here (the majority of my family have african american roots), but I mean, seeing a white family in this part of the city was like seeing a black person at a tennis championship; hehe. And it got to the point where the entire South Side of Centennial Park was FULL of black folks. You would swear there was a Deadmau5 venue or something. And then it hit us: "don't these people have jobs? don't they have lives outside of sitting in a park talking?" I mean these people were definitely NOT homeless. they wore fancy clothes, nice shoes, and the majority were probably 20-40 years old. Once again, I'm not being racist, I'm half black myslef. Seeing heaps of people this large with nothing to do, I didn't know what to believe. Anyways, Georgia's fun, and I'll update more often about my trip. Adios!

Musicians with NO talent.

What's up with all these new musicians and rappers who think talent is something you acquire (through a good record company and good equipment)? I'm really starting to think becoming a star is not about knowing how to produce music, but basically just a hype. I mean seriously - autotune is free, and anybody can rent a recording studio for a couple bucks. And if you listen, you can hear a recurring trend in new artists. when asked what their motto is, they always say something along the lines of "My motto is just to be yourself, nobody can tell you you're wrong" I mean I'll be damned if I haven't heard that over 56 times already. And I've heard 10 songs that sound exactly the same. When I hear a song for the first time on the radio, I often can't tell which artist is singing. I heard a song called "My Last" by Big Sean, and I seriously thought it was Drake. And then i heard the song "Copy + Paste" by Diggy Simmons, and, just like Sean, I truly thought Drake was rapping. I'm not trying to disrespect any musicians, I'm just pointing something out. I know for a fact that (obviously) there ARE talented artists and rappers (Drake, Lil Wayne, Lady Gaga, Adele, etc.), but the number is slowly diminishing. I find myself turning off the radio because all I hear is nonsense. occasionally, a great song would come on, but that's almost as rare as hearing a politician live up to their promises...

I absolutely HATE when parents, teachers, and the government force their "Marijuana will fuck you up" statement down the throats of America's children. Are you kidding me? first of all, marijuana prohibition has failed to cease the recreational use of it, and is currently a war not worth fighting. $7.7 billion is spent annually to fight against the use of marijuana. While taxpayers AND the government sit back and rub their foreheads and give up on the debt crisis, they don't realize that the answer is sitting right in front of their noses, and has been there for well over a century. And then, even if you argue that Marijuana will create more danger in the country, take into consideration the amount of deaths EVER from marijuana -- ZERO. yes, zero. none. not so? prove me wrong, search this for yourself. After that is concluded, some may provide the valid argument "What about drug cartels, dont you think these will rise as the demand becomes higher?" Hey, alcohol (which by the way, kills well over 100,000 people anually, not counting the alcohol influenced deaths) is legal, and we don't see 'Beer Cartels,' boats driving across the gulf of mexico in the middle of the night, carrying cans of Bud Light or Heineken, do we? And plus, hey, who wouldn't want to be able to smoke weed freely? (and the weed commercials would be HILARIOUS, just think about it!) Well what do you think? Let me know in the comments below.

16 and Pregnant ... WTF, MTV.

"ok ok ok. Here's the plan. We get emotionally unstable teens who were most likely raped at 15, drag them onto the.show and document the scale of a train wreck their lives are!!!" "brilliant!!!" That must have been the thinking storming around the minds of MTV's producers when they began airing the relatively new series "16 and Pregnant". And yes. It is basically exactly that. Don't believe me? Click on MTV and prove me wrong. The thing that really bugs me is that viewers actually find this shit entertaining--it's a HIT. which brings me to my next point. 8 years ago, any girl who was pregnant at age sixteen was either: A) a slut B) a prostitute or C) a resident of the state of Alabama. Also, a sixteen year old mother should have her schedule FULL of baby - related errands and tasks. Being the star of a hit TV series should be the last thing on their minds. That's how it should be, right? Actually... not really. Your current situation will affect you for the rest of your life. How? the answer lies beyond this link: http://www.facebook.com/ . "But that's... that's Facebook! My Facebook!" yeah, no duh. Click on your profile, then click 'Info'. There's my answer. do you see your interests as "Yo Momma, Weed, Ass 'n' Titties, drunk drivin'" or something along the lines of that? If you answered "no," answer this: is there anything you wouldn't want your grandma seeing? you probably answered "yes." Think of all the bosses on the planet that you have a chance of working for in the future as millions of your grandmother(s). (ew, dude, you've got like, millions of grandmas). They all look at this stuff and say "dude this guy's like, major wierd." and automatically cancel you out of their "To Hire" list. Why? Facebook is PAID to sell your information to businesses. They're not about privacy, and they're not about keeping what you want private, well, private. I'm not here asking for you to "band up and rip down facebook from the center out" (lol Braveheart) I'm just kind of urked that this is actually happening. What's your point of view?
