I'm excited to share that I'm running the Carlsbad MARATHON in January with Team In Training on behalf of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society! I've started a blog so people can follow my training: http://amyisarunner.blogspot.com/.

This is such an amazing program that raises money to fund cancer research and provide a better quality of life for those affected by blood-related cancers. I have two very good friends that are my age and each lost their father this year to lymphoma.

I never thought I would want to run 26.2 miles, but the fact that I can means so much. And I'm helping those that can't! I will be sending out some information on how you can help very soon.

Hope this finds everyone well!!

How I spent my summer vacation.

Greetings from CA! What a summer it has been! Aside from working so much my salary is equaling about $3.50/hr., it was a summer of music and traveling home to Minnesota. I saw a lot of shows this summer - private listener concerts for Mat Kearney, Donovan Frankenreiter (awesome for you Jack Johnson fans who haven't heard of him) and Soul Asylum. Also saw Edwin McCain, The Flaming Lips, and ... BILLY IDOL. The concert was not that great, but it's cool to say I saw Billy Idol. :) I also had an opportunity to go to the Andy Warhol exhibit at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Balboa Park. Awesome.

I also made two trips home to visit everyone. Ok, let's face it, I made two trips home to visit Matthew. My nephew looks more and more like Mike every day, but he doesn't have Mike's temper...er, temperament. Matt wakes up from naps with a smile on his face - something my brother doesn't do very often. He's really a happy baby, and I'm pretty sure both of his parents have something to do with that. Here are some pictures.....

Happy Easter!

Matthew Larson - 6 weeks

Happy Easter and Happy Spring!!

Next Generation

The next generation....Angie and Chris have the most adorable kids. I guess I can't really say that anymore as I am now in Minneapolis after a week in beautiful Maui. I cannot tell how amazing this week has been. I enjoyed being able to spend time with Sara and getting to know Tom and visiting with everyone. Maui is gorgeous. Highlights of the trip include the Whale Watching excursion on Friday Mar. 3 and watching the sunrise from the top of Haleakala, a dormant volcano on Sunday Mar. 5. I also snorkeled for the first time ever with Uncles Paul, Jim and Pat.

The real highlight was watching Sara and Tom get married. For those of you who haven't met him yet, Tom is great. It's obvious how much he loves Sara and I'm so happy for the both of them. I hope everyone enjoys the pictures! There are more to come!

A huge thanks to Sara and Tom, Pat and Gail, and George and Jane Voll for your hospitality!
