Held on Friday 15th May at Rockmount Golf Club, Carryduff, the event welcomed a fantastic turnout of sponsors, clients, partners and guests who came together for a memorable day of golf, networking and fundraising in support of a truly worthy cause.

We were also honoured to welcome Joanne Morgan, CEO of TinyLife, who joined colleagues Katie Birnie and Madeline Donnelly on the day. Joanne spoke about the invaluable services provided by the charity and the impact that fundraising initiatives such as this have on families of premature and vulnerable babies.

Following the event, Irwin M&E was proud to present a cheque for £38,142.50 to TinyLife. This marks the largest single fundraising event in Irwin M&E’s history, and we are thrilled that the proceeds will support such an important cause.

Irwin M&E has promoted Adam Robinson to Associate Director (Bid Director), recognising his role in driving major contract wins and supporting the company’s continued growth across the UK construction and facilities management sectors.

Adam’s Time at Irwin M&E

Adam joined the business in August 2016 as a Tenders and Bid Co-ordinator and over the past decade has built his career through hands-on experience in bid management, public sector procurement and strategic tendering. He became Bid Manager in 2018, progressed to Senior Bid Manager in 2023, and now steps into a leadership role at an important stage in the company’s journey.

During Adam’s time with the business, Irwin M&E has grown from £18 million to £75 million turnover, alongside a significant increase in staff numbers and capability. The company has strengthened its in-house offering, including design and BIM services, while expanding into key growth areas such as Energy and Renewables.

Adam has played a central role in securing major public sector contracts, including work with NI Government (Property Service Division), Health Trusts and Education Authorities, helping to further establish Irwin M&E as a trusted partner across specialist M&E projects. He has also contributed to building a strong and capable Bid and Marketing team, supporting both performance and long-term development in line with the company’s strategic goals.

Speaking about his promotion, Adam said:

“I’m really proud to step into this role and to be recognised for the work the team and I have delivered over the years. It shows that Irwin M&E backs its people and creates real opportunities to progress. I’m looking forward to what’s next and continuing to support the company’s growth across new sectors and projects.”

This landmark extension to the existing ECIT Building will deliver a world-class digital innovation and research facility, set to become a leading hub for cybersecurity, AI and wireless technologies.

The development will feature state of the art laboratories, collaborative co-working environments and high-performance computing capacity, designed to accelerate business-led innovation across the Healthcare, Agri-Food and Net-Zero sectors. Once complete, the facility will accommodate more than 550 industry and academic experts.

Our scope includes a 2 MW UPS installation, gas suppression systems and close-control computer room air-conditioning, delivering highly specialised, mission-critical infrastructure beyond conventional MEP installations.

A Landmark Transformation

This project will transform a former five-storey office block into a 21-storey purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme with basement level. The development will provide over 700 student residences. It will also include modern social, study, and community spaces.

The scheme will create the permanent home of the London Migration Museum. The museum will span 30,000 sq. ft. across three floors, offering exhibition, education, and cultural space for students, Londoners, and visitors.

In addition, the development will open green spaces to the public, including a pocket park and rooftop terrace, creating new community amenities.

Heritage Preserved

The site was once home to the HFW Office Building. This building included features of historic value, such as two Friars Statues mounted on the façade. A specialist contractor carefully removed these statues, and they will return as part of the new external landscaping.

The scheme will complete in time for the 2027/28 academic year.

We are delighted to announce that Charity Football Day 2025 raised over £1,300 for Dementia NI. These funds will support people living with dementia, help raise awareness, and contribute to essential research.

Charity Football Day has become a highlight of our calendar. It brings together colleagues, local businesses, and the community for a day of football and fundraising.

We have officially opened our new energy-efficient headquarters in Portadown. This £2 million investment showcases our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and collaboration.

The Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge, and Craigavon, Stephen Moutray, carried out the opening ceremony. He cut the ribbon and joined us for a full tour of the site. Once a vacant Lidl supermarket, the 20,000 sq ft building is now a vibrant hub for teamwork, creativity, and knowledge-sharing. Every feature helps reduce energy use and minimise environmental impact.

Our New HQ Features

• Air source heat pump technology
• Solar PV power generation
• Smart occupancy and daylight sensors
• Automated lighting systems

Together, these upgrades will cut emissions by around 80%. At the same time, they create a bright and collaborative environment for more than 300 colleagues.

This headquarters proves that retrofitting older buildings with renewable technologies delivers real results. We are eager to use this space to connect, collaborate, and inspire clients across the UK and Ireland.
