Wine lovers know Prosecco as a light fruity, slightly sweet , low cost sparkling wine that comes from Italy, and little more.

By Roger Morris

Want to learn about Greek wines, but still feel a little intimidated by the different alphabet, the dozens of indigenous grape varieties, and by a whole new geography of wine regions? Is your wine list and wine-by-the glass program sadly devoid of any Hellenic labels?

The ancient Greeks made some of the first wines in the world, and, within the past 20 years, the country has undergone a winemaking renaissance and is now producing some of the most delicious wines made on earth. Yet many people in the wine trade ignore them because it seems very complicated learning about these strange wines.
