[Murder DIEary] LITE version was rejected by Apple - iSeeToon News (Feb. 8. 2012)

*** We will start promotion of [Murder DIEary] Vol. 1 App soon, even if Apple rejected our App. We will ask review with redeem code, send information with press release. Stay tuned.

We tried to release LITE version of [Murder DIEary]. After that, we wished to do promotion of this great new thriller comics app. However Apple rejected.

I attach that email below.

We found that your app provides a limited set of the same features as
other apps you've submitted to the App Store.

Apps that replicate functionality with different content create
clutter in the App Store, hindering users' ability to find apps, and
do not comply with the App Store Review Guidelines.

It would be appropriate to consolidate your app with the full version
of the same book app, Murder DIEary by iSeeToon, using In-App
Purchase.

Lite versions of eBooks apps provide a limited user experience, which
is not in compliance with Guideline 2.12, "Apps that are not very
useful, are simply web sites bundled as apps, or do not provide any
lasting entertainment value may be rejected."

It would be more appropriate to combine your full and lite versions
into a single app, and use the In-App Purchase API to seamlessly
deliver additional functionality within the app.
It may be appropriate to revise your app to use the In App Purchase
API to provide content purchasing functionality.

In App Purchase provides several benefits, including:

* The flexibility to support a variety of business models.
* Impacting your app ranking by consolidating your sales to one app
rather than distributing them across multiple apps.
* IAP has the ability to offer additional content to your user. In
this way, your app enabled with In App Purchase becomes an effective
marketing vehicle to drive additional sales of new content.
* The ability to search the App Store by the In App Purchase name.

Apple may reject similar LITE version Apps. Not sure about gaming apps, however our new cool comic [Murder DIEary] LITE version was rejected.

So what's next? I think we could try IAP(In-App-Purchase) version of [Murder DIEary]. 1 app for Purchase as we already updated, another 1 app for Free download + IAP. It could take time, several weeks or even months.

But the real pain is, we are not sure Apple can let us upload Free + IAP app. If they use same theory, Purchase App is same as Free + IAP one.

*** Instead, we try to make Youtube video for early chapters of [Murder DIEary] Vol. 1. Not real trailer as we used for [Ill-fated relationship], however I hope it helps.

iSeeToon changed viewer as 'PappCORN', and some more news - iSeeToon News (Feb. 4th. 2012)

In the past, iSeeToon used 'Storyberry' player for iPhone comics App. We found 'Storyberry' player had some flaws. So we decided to use our own.After UnitViewSystem acquired iSeeToon brand, we tried to change reader.

From now on, iSeeToon App will use 'PappCORN' viewer.

It was used for update version of [Ill-fated relationship] sold by iSeeToon account (NOT iSeeYou account, older one.). And it will be used for our new comics app [Murder DIEary].

In fact, we already got feedback about 'PappCORN' viewer from customer. I think he likes our new viewer.

Review mostly on the app & not very much the story - ★★★★

With the 1.1 version of the app, everything seems to work fine. There
are no chapters missing in the content page like the previous version
(all 20 chapters are there now). It is easy to navigate. Transitions
are smooth with the cross-fade effect for continuos reading. However,
once the chapter is finished you have go back to "home" this may be a
draw back for some as it can get annoying for those wanting to read
all the chapters at once. With only 3 chapters read so far, I'm
looking forward to reading the rest soon.

P.S. : [Murder DIEary] Vol. 1 was released for iPhone App Store. We will post more information about that in the near future. Total Vol. 3, very unique one. This sentence could describe it best. 'Dexter in 4-panel comics'.

P.S. 2 : We try to make this viewer better with update. We will try.

P.S. 3 : We are looking forward to release 'LITE' version of our 2 manhwa apps, [Ill-fated relationship] & [Murder DIEary].

Long time no news, sorry for waiting. We had long story about iSeeToon, but let's make it short.

* Past : iSeeToon is independent of iSeeYou now.

- Ex-worker Masashi(HanKyu Lee) obtained everything about iSeeToon from iSeeYou, including Work - Copyright - Domain Name, under real paper written contract.

- iSeeToon is no more related to ex-company iSeeYou, independent project by ex-iSeeToon workers.

- At now, iSeeToon is part of 'UnitVIew System', run by 'Hankyu Lee'.

* Work : ill-fated relationship

- iSeeToon re-uploaded 'ill-fated relationship' to our own account. Plus, earlier upload is no more available in the app store.

- We can't use same title, so we renamed 'ill-fated relationship by iSeeToon'.

- Totally same version we sold in the past. And we might not update more.

- However if you want to get it from new iSeeToon account, even if you purchased in our old account, please contact us by e-mail about that. Including earlier invoice is best, but not so necessary.

* Future : Murder DIEary

We plan to release our next work [Murder DIEary] Book 1 in the near future. It's really good 4-panel comics about Serial Killer 'Tang Lee'. Will be released as 3 different apps, however let's start with Book 1 first.

(Seoul, South Korea, 5th. August. 2011) Ill-Fated Relationship by Hwang Joon Ho is a manhwa app for the iPhone about a dark romance between two serial killers. The app, published by iSeeToon, is now on sale for a special launching price of $4.99, available until September 15th, 2011.

Ill-Fated Relationship is a manhwa created specifically for the digital medium, which are called webtoons in Korea. They are similar to webcomics, but require the reader to scroll through the comic panel by panel instead of page by page. Webtoons are not motion comics or digital comics with a guided view. Each webtoon is made to be viewed just as you see it.

The Ill-Fated Relationship app includes all 20 chapters of the story, plus some bonus material at the end.
