The Tynar was a camera for 16mm film. It used 16mm film in metal cartridges. It was offered since 1949 by Phil Kalech Company, Chicago, and by the Tynar Corporation which had plants in Chicago, Cincinnati, Los Angeles and New London, maybe also the maker of the camera. It was advertised as delivering cheap prints: 1 US-Dollar for fourteen 2½×3½" prints from one film, including its development, what alltogether had to be made in one of the four Tynar laboratories. The cassettes were marked "property of Tynar Corporation". Maybe these cassettes (Film magazines) were refilled in the plants with the Tynar Panchromatic film. A Tynar cassette was very small since the image frame was on the outer side of its film transport channel. All better known 16mm film cassette systems used larger cassettes with the image frame on the opposite side of the film transport channel.
The camera had a collapsible two-frame viewfinder, a film advance with exposure counter, an achromatic anastigmat lens, a single speed shutter and choice between apertures f6.3, f11 and f16. (From Camerapedia)

Nice 126-cartridges camera, plastic and chromes, it has a selenium-meter that controls the aperture, and a hotshoe for the flash.

This is a very nice lightweight, fully plastic and full of option SLR, unluckily working with APS film. The good news is that the lens has a Nikon-mount and can be used with Nikon Digital.

This small space-ship from the end of the 70's, is a SLR with pentaprism, working with 110-film. It looks like a flattened 35mm film SLR. Hope I can resell it on a higher price that I bought it, thanks to Lomography and their revival of 110-film.

Strange looking filmcamera/camera. Fully in plastic. The right hand holds the camera with the grip beneath, and the left hand can makes pictures : orange button, or movies on 8mm cartridges, black button. No zoom.

Nice looking automatic camera from Konica. It's also named Konica Pop and exists in red plastic. The filmwinder is on the bottomplate and at the back there is an electronic date-system to print the date of the shooting on the negative.

Another variation of the Regula King Sporty BC. This model doesn't have the fake selenium-meter of his companion. The lens and shutter mechanism is identical, the plate around the lens is more squared and there is a weird yellow plastic emblem with a electronic lookalike (?) logo on it.

This camera resumes a lot of tricks that Lomography promotes as creativity : panorama sized negatives, a platic holder can be de-attached so the full film is exposed resulting in sprocketholes, the winder is rather challenging and not very precise what results in overlapping exposures, the filmwinder is not connected with the shutter, so multi-exposures are quit easy, there is a flash mount and finally a b-exposure for low light. I personally like more the square design of the 7000 AF, then he rounded ones from their followers in the analoge Dynax range. I like this camera a lot, and it's my favorite of the "chunky heavy" plastics of the late 80's.

It's a fake DSLR with a piece of iron to make it heavy, but it's also a perfectley working camera. It has a shutter, a lens, a viewer, a motorized film-winding mechanism, a flash-shoe, aperture setting, exposure-counter, timer,...so why complaining?

This Russian Industar-69 lens, is made for the halfframe camera Chaika. Set on a Leica M8, the 28mm, becomes a 35mm equivalent. The funny thing about this lens, is it's Lomo-like features, blurry edges and a big vignetting wide open. The lens had to be rectified to have a correct depth of field, adapted to the LTM system. It's not coupled so when shooting wide open, the distance has to be set manually and rather correctly, it's not a big issue because it's a wide lens.

Do I have turned my beloved Leica M8, to a digital LCA ? The answer is YES!

Strange but working, the lens is in manual focus and operates at F22, so that's not a too bad combination. The viewer fits perfectly the frame of the token pictures, but the huge lens is masking the lower part of the frame.

At his time this bridge had it all better then the rest :

- 3 Viewers : TFT, bridge-viewer and top.
- Biggest Lithium Battery : + 500 shots.
- Biggest display screen : 3.5 TFT.
- Biggest zoom : 15x optical Schneider-Kreuznach.

Even the poor ISO-max of 400 did not interfer with the very good image quality of the beast.

Samsung did it again!

(Ok, they copy the Sony DSC-F828 a bit, bit I forgive them.)

Dated from Januari 2002, this DSLR from Fuji has it all : Nikon F-mount, the technical aspects of a modern DSLR, a 6 Million pixels honeycomb sensor that can be interpolated to 12 Million pixels, and 6 batteries! A bit slow while recording, a rather small display, but for 90 Euro I cannot complain! (Thanks to Björn Pira for the sell)

The main problem with infrared photography is that the wellknown R72 filter is damned dark. I bought this filter thinking is was an easy way on my DSLR. But I was wrong, in broad daylight there is nothing to see... So puzzeling around in my photogear I made this combo : Leica M8, an Nikon F-mount adapter to LTM and for the lens a Nikon Serie E 28mm, 1 : 2.8. The rangefinder can be used and everything is clear! The lens is not the fastest but it works very well and it has the "red dot" needed for actual infrared focussing.

If you don't want to break your wallet empty with Leica lenses, a nice option is to buy a russian copy of early Leicas, like the Zorki or Fed. They cost on Evilbay around the 50 Euro, then a 50mm M39 - LTM adapter on the same site for 10 Euro. This one has the Industar-22, in fact a russian copy of the Elmar. The results are maybe not so perfect as the Elmar, but they are pretty acceptable. You got also this typical ancient feeling to shoot analog on digital.
At the end my M8 told me : "What have I done to deserve this".

I got some black Duct-tape in the drawer from my garage that fits perfectly as leaterette replacement, let's do it!
The fact that I'm not very handy in doing suh things doesn't matter...
