PHILIPSBURG - St. Maarten can look forward to significant progress in the introduction of compulsory education in the new school year.

This much was gleaned yesterday when Leader of Government and Commissioner of Education William Marlin and Education Department Head Quincy Harrigan addressed public school teachers at their Fourth Annual End of School Year Breakfast Programme at Rock House Restaurant, Port de Plaisance.

PHILIPSBURG - Milton Peters College (MPC) continued on its positive track with a general improvement in final exam results in the four streams.

A 64.4 per cent pass rate was recorded in the HAVO stream; 83.3 per cent in the VWO stream; 71 per cent in the VSBO/TKL stream which has 117 students and 69 per cent in the VSBO PKL/PBL stream.
