Mabul is a small island off the south-eastern coast of Sabah in Malaysia. The island has been a fishing village since 1970s. Then in 1990s, it first became popular to divers due to its proximity to Sipadan island.

Located 15 km from Sipadan, this 20-hectare piece of land surfaces 2–3 meters above sea level, consists mostly flat grounds and aerial view is oval-shaped. Surrounding it are sandy beaches, perched on the northwest corner of a larger two square kilometer reef.

Mabul island is administered by Semporna, Tawau district.

Mention Mabul Island and visions of swaying coconut trees and idyllic water villages come to mind. And that’s just above the water. Located only about 15 minutes by speedboat from the famous Sipadan Island, Mabul has gained its own recognition as one of the best muck-diving (a term used to describe limited visibility dives at shallow sites with usually sandy bottoms) sites in the world.

Mabul is a small oval shaped island fringed by sandy beaches and perched on the northwest corner of a larger 200-hectare reef. The reef is on the edge of the continental shelf and the seabed surrounding the reef slopes out to 25–30m deep.

Mabul is also renowned for its amazing array of macrolife, making it an underwater photographer’s dream location to capture some of the rarest ecological species on film. Flamboyant cuttlefish, blue-ringed octopus, spike-fin gobies, frogfish and moray eels are just some of the spectacular critters you will encounter beneath the waters of Mabul.

Although all the excitement is underwater, you can always set your scuba gear aside for a day to laze on Mabul’s soft sand to work on your tan.

How to get there
From Kota Kinabalu, take a 55-minute flight to Tawau and enjoy an hour’s drive to Semporna. From here, Mabul is another 45 minutes by speedboat. Be sure to pre-arrange transportation with your respective resort/dive operator.

Aarifeen Sultanu'l tomb.

Sultanu'l Aarifeen real name is Al Sayyid Ismail (qaddasallahu sirrahu). He is the 18th descendant of the Prophet (SAW). Sultanu'l Aarifeen As Sayyid Ismail was born on 17 Rabiui Awal in 867H in Baghdad. As his father named Sayyid Abdul Qadir and his mother was called As Sayyidah Fatimah.

He has a high knowledge of Islam. According to history when he visited the tomb of the Prophet to Medina, he came a voice that told him to expand the knowledge of Islam on the island of Java. As someone who is faithful to his religion and he fulfilled them have traveled and finally arrived on the Big Island along with 16 members of the gang. Among the important people in the group was his teacher and his brother Yusuf Siddiq Al Sayyid Ibrahim.

On Pulau Besar has expanded his knowledge and he had very many followers. Sultanu'l Aarifeen died on 17 Rabiul Awal in the year 925H when he was 58 years old. Apart from him, there is also termakam between 41 to 43 of his followers the other. He has a son and 2 daughters.

Now tomb Sultanu'l Aarifeen people continue to visit. Aside from a desire to visit them also come with a variety of desires.

Overview

One hundred and ninety one stylish suites and rooms, as well as a stunning five bedroom Private Villa perched high up on the cliff overlooking the ocean and resort below. The resort boasts commissioned furniture and bespoke photography of Redang Island and the landscapes of Malaysia. Each suite or room contains oversized beds and hand-picked linens and fabrics for your comfort. Location

The Malaysians call their Island ‘Pulau Redang’ which is thought to be because of the Redang tree that once grew here as well as it’s literal meaning as ‘a stop-over place’; perhaps long ago to take refuge from pirates on the trade routes between India and China. Redang is located 45km off the coast of Kuala Terengganu and is the largest (6km by 7km) among a group of Islands dotting the north east cost of Malaysia and surrounded by the South China Sea. The Island is blessed with crystal clear waters housing numerous dive sites, and some amazing as well as abundant marine life. The coral collection is generally excellent all year but can be influenced from time to time by weather and sea conditions. As part of the surrounding waters there are designated conservation sites as well as a protected Marine Park (including turtle sanctuary) actively protected by the Malaysian Government.

Access

The Island enjoys daily direct access flights with Berjaya Air to Redang Island Airport from both Kula Lumpur (Subang Terminal) and Singapore (Changi Budget Terminal) Airports. In less than sixty minutes from Kuala Lumpur and seventy five minutes from Singapore you can swap ‘City Chic’ for ‘Beach Chic’ Private transfers are also available from the Mainland of Malaysia through our Reservations Office either by private yacht charter or third party helicopter charter (please note this service is subject to availability).

The Management of this island comes under gazettes of Fisheries Protected Areas and the Fisheries Act 1985. It is established as a marine park under the Marine Parks Malaysia order 1994, which came into force on 15 Dec 1994.

The tropical climates of the island are influenced by the North East Monsoon. Daily temperatures are between 22 to 33 degrees.

By Self Drive
Approximately 6 to 8 hour drive from Kuala Lumpur to Merang Jetty via Karak Highway, Lebuhraya Pantai Timur (LPT) and Terengganu coastal road. At Kuala Terengganu town, do take a road to Merang Jetty. Click here to view direction to Merang Jetty.

When translated from Bahasa Malaysia, Pulau Lang Tengah means an "Eagle resting on the middle island". Pulau Lang Tengah is between Pulau Perhentian and Pulau Redang.

D'Coconut Lagoon has procured two isolated and idyllic stretches of pristine white sandy beaches. It offers tranquil ambience and at the same time delivers a unique destination for marine life and nature lovers.

There are about 12 dive sites around Pulau Lang Tengah and together with nearby Pulau Redang, Pulau Perhentian and Pulau Bidong, there are more than 30 dive sites for divers: at shallow to medium depths, always enjoyable, never risky or fatiguing.

Encounters with turtles, resident schools of jacks and barracudas and leopard sharks are almost assured around the tiny coral island.

Visitors to Pulau Lang Tengah can visit the nearby Redang Marine Park Center upon request.

How To Get There

The closest departure point to Pulau Lang Tengah is from Merang Jetty, about 38 kilometers north of Kuala Terengganu.

Kuala Terengganu is accessible from most major towns or cities either by road or by air. Journey time by taxi from Kuala Terengganu airport to Merang Jetty is about 30 minutes and from Kuala Terengganu bus station to Merang Jetty is about one hour.

Alternatively, visitors can fly to Pulau Redang airstrip and transfer via speedboat to Pulau Lang Tengah with special arrangement. Boat journey takes about an hour depending on sea condition.

ELECTRICITY
Please be inform that there be a daily 3 hour power cut-off (03.00pm - 06.00pm) for the off-peak months of February, March, October and November. There will be 24-hours electricity from April to September unless due to unforseen and uncontrollable circumstances.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

All confirmed bookings must be paid in full before the expiry of the payment deadline given. Upon the expiry of the deadline, the booking will be automatically cancel without any further notice.
In the event of cancellation of bookings after full payment was remitted, the following cancellation policies applies:-
1. More than 1 month to arrival date: Full Refund less Admin Fees (3%) of total value
2. 3 weeks or more to arrival date: 70% Refund less Admin Fees (3%) of total value
3. 2 weeks or more to arrival date: 50% Refund less Admin Fess (3%) of total value
4. Less than 2 weeks: NO Refund
NO REFUND will be made in whole or in part for any unused days or unconsumed food at the Resort resulting from late arrival or premature departure. Confirmed guests who does not show up will be charged in full and no refund will be made for whatever reasons.
REVISION of rates is subject to resort discretion and without prior notice.
