Like every living organism on this planet we are in constant transformation. We believe that changes are welcome whenever new things come to add and whatever is past us stays in our hearts and minds, like the fertile and caring ground that has made us grow and reach the point we have today.

After six years in the beloved city of Ituber, where we sowed and harvested knowledge, enterprises and, above all, friends, it is now time to sow different grounds. Since the birth of our project we have been itinerant and our objective is to bring alternative culture, peace and love to all those who wish and know how to live such magic.

The new local government and its new management have made it impossible for us to continue in the same place. To preserve the Festival, taking advantage of the great new alternatives that have appeared, we have decided to move the Festival to a new location.

The new place is just as beautiful as the paradisical beach we are used to. It is situated between Morro de So Paulo and the Itaparica Island, about 80km from Bom Despacho (drop off point of the Salvador Ferryboat). The people and the government of Bahia welcome us with open arms once again, as is typical of the baiano charisma.

Garcez Beach, on the dAjuda Island (Jaguaripe County) is another fantastic beach of the Dende Coast. The beach is situated between sea and river, surrounded by Atlantic Forest and coconut groves - a stretch of 1000 meters of private beaches where there are no cars. The camping site has many shaded areas and the parking lot is at the entrance gate, practically inside the Festival itself.

There are many fresh water rivers in the vicinity, so you have the option now of bathing either in salt or fresh water. Just to give a final touch to our celebration, we will add one more day to the festival.

On our 10-year-anniversary special edition, Universo Parallelo invites everyone to once again celebrate the New Year on the beach now in the Garcez beach on the Island dAjuda, from December 28, 2009 to January 03, 2010.

We begin the preparations for our 10-year-anniversary party taken by a unique sense of joy. This gathering will synthesize all the magic of a decade of celebration among friends, surrounded by art, alternative culture, nature and a whole lotta music.

The UP 10-year-anniversary party sets off in a renovation mood and you are a crucial part of this commemoration. Let us turn this gathering into a great ritual and begin another cycle of joy, brotherhood and learning with our friends and nature. Let the rhythms multiply and the feelings unify into a single frequency.

In the country, which can be found only with the help of magic map, where the night sky, studded with the constellations of stars, presents all around with the light of sparkling stars so strongly, that eyes of every creature reflect the worlds beauty and magic - there are shaman circles. In the flow of four winds these circles are windows on the earth surface and repeating the stages of the world creation, linking spatial flows of energy and power of the great earth spirit, form the sacred places of power. And only once a year all the inhabitants of a magic world gather in those circles- cheerful and good-natured people, animals which can speak and their unfailing helpers-fairies and elves. According to an ancient tradition they carry out a ritual of unification, over again creating their world, putting their heart and soul into each action. They beautify the night sky with moon sparkles as if refreshing it and the sky heralding dawn is decorated with peals of lightning and crimson glitter of daybreak. The birds give the most beautiful and motley feathers for the patterns. The mountains present the echo force, the grass- the rainbow dew. And everything is dancing in the whirlpool of a new birth and the smile sparkles and kind words shimmer in this amazing magic feast. And the magic world showing the primordial nature opens up its spirit and pours light into every heart which is brighter than the sun.

This gathering will be located in a beautiful outdoor location in the National Park of Doana. After last rains of March, countryside looks like paradise, surrounded by special colours and smells, so you can expect the spirits of nature around the whole place. This is a free festival. But due to some very, very disorganised parties and festivals over the years, it has left us feeling that we are not getting anywhere. So the time has come to become organised, as we feel this is the only way we can make this festival work on a long term basis. We rent the land, acquire a license and organise the space, sanitation and facilities well before the festival begins. Everyone is welcome and we invite all musicians, artists, performers and anyone who thinks they may have something to offer. We try to incorporate anything that is offered to us, but whilst being free it is not a teknival, so we need to know who is coming well in advance,(ideally at least 3 months before hand) so we can provide adequate space and meet any other requirements you may have. So if you think you have anything to offer - shows, bands, art or simply ideas etc etc etc...please please contact us through the link on this website, we are always on the look out for new acts or ideas. Anyone wanting to get involved must realise this is a free festival so unfortunately we can't offer pay anyone...Boom Boom..........................................The Festival site so far is to contain the following-Funky beats bar The Main Dance Floor, - Live bands stage, - Trance zone, - Kidz area, - Chill out tent, - Cafes, Bars and Restaurants, - Market area, - Toilets, - Water points, - Information stands....................................... ..... We try to keep the number of sound systems down to a minimum as the land is rented, we cannot afford an overspill onto neighbouring land as this will severely ruin our chances of being able to return to the site the following year. So if you are thinking of bringing a sound system, you need to tell us well in advance.......................... .......................................... Dogs - After last year\\\\\\'s incidents where 7 sheep were killed in the surrounding area, this year we have to ask all dog owners for their dogs to be kept on leads in and around the festival site. Dogs may be ok and well behaved when with their owners, but when several dogs make a pack its a different story and can result in the dogs hunting down any live stock in the area. We as the organisers cannot let this happen and have to take measures to ensure it doesn\\\\\\'t happen again. So please, all dogs must be kept on leads. On entry to the festival you will be handed all information about the festival including the dogs on leads policy............................................ .................................. Any dogs found roaming will be put on a lead and taken to the quarantine area where they will be kept until the owner comes to collect them. So anyone looking for a missing dog should check there first. The quarantine area will be clearly signposted for all to see............................................... .................................. Most licensed festivals have a no dog policy, so if the dogs on leads policy doesn\\\\\\'t please you, we apologise for this, but it really is essential to the future of this festival. We cant think of any other solution other than simply saying no to dogs!!. So please be respectful of our position. The bill for last years dog related sheep killing was 400, and we had to take the brunt of the angry farmers, the cost and to top it all off we can\\\\\\'t do the festival on that site ever again, which is a big shame. So please please please please dogs on leads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!............ ........................... Sorry to moan on. We really didnt want to start to imposing rules, we have tried for years to make this party work along the lines of a teknival, but found this year that organisation is the key and that is the path we want to continue down........................................... ................................... PROJECT-2012 is an open DJs to everybody.

Since 1997, all editions of this festival was in Qubec, Canada under the name of NATURA and for the first time the event will take place in Xilitla, Mexico.

XILITLA is a municipality in the state of San Luis Potos, in the Huasteca region
of Mexico. Xilitla is known for its fertile mountains and springs, which create
panoramic landscapes throughout the municipality. The mountains have also
partly shielded Xilitla from industrialization, helping preserve its indigenous
Nahuatl and Teenek cultures and traditional agrarian lifestyles.

XILITLA is located in the Sierra Madre Oriental mountain range, with narrow valleys dipping to 400m and hilltops as high as 1400m above sea level. Its land area is 415km, which is largely steep but habitable slopes.

The natural beauty of this area, has made it a source of inspiration of many people, among those Edward James, who built Las Pozas, a surrealist landscape, just outside the town.

Xilitla is a bustling center and important meeting point for the people of the surrounding communities. Xilitla has a wide range of businesses including food, clothing, and shoe stores, restaurants (including the Comedor Popular, La Flor de Caf) in addition to a bank, a telephone call center, and an internet caf. The church is the largest structure in the town and is located on one edge of the main plaza.

On Sundays, the market day, the town fills with people and energy and welcomes people from surrounding communities who come to buy and sell their agricultural and commercial products. A local specialty is the zacahuitl, a giant tamale (3 to 4 feet long) wrapped in banana leaves and filled with pork an one side and chicken on the other.

PROJECT-2012 Festival will take place 300 meters from Las Pozas of Sir Edward James.

Based on benevolent participation of everybody,
this festival is a friendly way to enjoy party.
It was in this fashion that the spirit of PROJECT-2012 was born.

For this 2010 edition, some canadian artists will go to play in Mexico, and in 2011, it will be to mexicains artists to be invited to Canada.

In 2012 we expect an amazing party in the Desert of Wirikuta, Mexico.

This is the idea of Project 2012.

The Boom Team is now in a brainstorming stage. We are evaluating all areas of the festival with a strong conviction for improvement. The main guidelines for 2010 are set and the whole concept and cultural approach are materializing.
All updates will be revealed through the Boom website.

Boom 2010 Tickets Will Be Limited

1st Phase: 18 October - 15 December (6 000 tickets exclusively online 125 )
2nd Phase: 16 December - 14 March (10 000 tickets, including Boom Ambassador Tickets 150)
3rd Phase: 15 March - 26 June (10 000 tickets, including Boom Ambassador Tickets 175 )

Note(1): At Boom the camping, caravan parking, drinking water, toilets, showers, communitarian kitchen are all free of charge.
Note(2): As a matter of curiosity: for a ticket of 125 the average daily price for Boom would be 15,6; for 150 the average daily price would be 18,75; and if we consider the 3rd phase ticket each day would be priced at 21,08 .
