Do not worry guys; you can find it no time. Google will make it easier, all you need is to just write a query in Google's search bar following the syntax given below as

Here the words written in bold face are keywords and italic face word is the name of your city, so the complete query will be like sunrise islamabad and you will see the results at the same pattern as it is given in following snapshot.

A Real Universal Adapter

Many people specially business men have digital equipment round the clock with them such as a cellphone, laptop, digital camera, smartphone, storage devices and this list goes on and on. Generally, these devices are dealt as “must carry items” while the travelling and also require the chargers, adapters and cords; here the problem begins. According to a research, business men always try to bring adapters with them as well as the number of devices. A single adapter weighs about 25% of the corresponding device.

At that point what we really miss is a “Universal Adapter”, a complete charging hub with extensions to fit with the standard devices. This is the concept proposed by Wonjune Song & Youngsun Jun. gAlwaysIdle: Set Google Talk Status To Idle

Everyone likes Google Talk due to its simplicity but it is true that Google Talk miss many essential features. Some of them are:

Chat Rooms
Conference Call
Contacts Grouping
Emoticons and Audibles
Instant Alerts during chat i.e. buzz!
Privacy Options e.g. stealth setting
Text Formatting
Video Chat

Google has resolved the issues of video chat, emoticons and stealth setting through the Gmail but Google Talk is still missing these features. Google Talk users mostly let it open in system tray and sometimes want to change their status message as idle to avoid the unwanted friends but due to the absence of stealth settings they couldn't do anything. The condition turns up more critical when we don't want to chat at the time but at the other hand we have to maintain the relationships.

To abstain from these circumstances you should be either invisible or idle. Idle status has advantage over the invisible status because one can excuse others because of his/her absence. Idle status indicates that the user is away from Google Talk from at least previous 15 minutes.

But now you just require to install a freeware named gAlwasysIdle. This tiny application is free of adware, spyware and virus; will allow you to set your online status as permanently "Normal Idle", "Always Idle" and "Never idle".

gAlwaysIdle have compatibility issue with Windows Vista but all you need is to install it with the administrative rights otherwise there might be fatal errors. It was expected that this bug will be fixed in the new version but unfortunately technical support is no longer available and now the publisher's website doesn't exist. Therefore, I have uploaded it for the ease of IT Bulge! readers.

Raster vs. Vector Graphics

Graphic files come in two types: vector and raster. Most of the photo editing programs primarily work with raster graphics and some of them are additionally capable of reading (and saving) vector file formats.

Raster Graphics

Raster files store graphics as bitmaps, sort of like a graph paper. There are no objects, only information is there about what color each square (bit) of the picture should be. Bitmap images (.bmp) is the most common example of raster images.

Vector Graphics

Vector files store graphics as objects which is described by mathematical relationships between points and the paths. Each graphic file internally contains a small list that describes the shape, colors, outlines, and sizes of the objects that make up the graphic. This list of vectors enables the graphic to be drawn on screen or rendered to a printer. These kinds of objects are easy to resize as all of their other characteristics stay the same. For example, if an object is a circle, it’s the same circle whether it’s small or large.

Pros and Cons

Scaling
Now a days an ordinary PC usually displays fonts and images, treating them point to point instead of the pixels. Consequently, when a vector image is scaled up it seems clearer and smooth while in the case of raster image serrated edges and sharp notched are appeared. If you notice the fonts you daily use then more often these will be True Type which are vector based.
Size and Resolution
For the smooth display higher resolutions and anti-aliasing is required by all bitmap images. On the other hand, as we know vector graphics use mathematical description so they support higher resolution with the minimal size.
Usability
In the graphics work vector, images are not always appropriate because of their limitation of usability. For instance imaging devices e.g. scanners and cameras produces raster graphics which cannot be converted into the vector graphics. So people will like to treat the pixels instead of drawing the objects. Bitmap graphics are more appropriate for photo processing, montage, retouching, photo-realistic illustrations and the handmade illustrations or with a pen tablet.

Application Softwares

Most popular raster editors (or bitmap editors) are GIMP (which is best open source imaging software) and Adobe Photoshop also provides the specialized tools for vector image processing. Whereas some of the popular vector editors like Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Fireworks, CorelDRAW, Xara Xtreme and Inkscape now have built in tools for raster images.

In one of the recent posts, I have talked about the importance of USB ports in a modern computer.

When you are using a notebook, you can feel the deficiency of USB ports. As you have many devices which you want to hook up. Use of USB Hub can make your life easier but now there is a totally new concept to resolve this issue.

Infinite USB is a kind of plugin device which works as a tag team. Its design and appearance is very simple. One can easily connect a device right behind the device in series which is already connected to the USB port. If there are many devices are connected simultaneously then it can be complicated to remember which device is plugged in at what level. Therefore, Infinite USB has a specific color code to identify the exact device and their proper organization.

If a person wants to unplug any specific device which is connected in the middle of the chain then devices connected after this should be safely removed one by one.
It is not only the matter of awkward impression by tagging too many devices but also a problem of overloading a computer port. The larger is the rigid structure attached, the higher are the chances of a serious damage to the port. Even the external power adapter can be easily overwhelmed (If connected devices exceed the certain limit).
Accidentally hitting the stuff sticking out of the port can cause the physical loss or the total weight of all the connected peripherals can put great mechanical stress on a single port.

Amazingly, I have found this idea is taken from the "iF Concept Award Product of 2007" which is about to combine the both plug and socket in a single model named "Continue". It provides an indirect connection for electrical appliances to the same outlet.

Internet has acclaimed as the most powerful tool to minimize the cultural differences. That is why it is nominated as for the Nobel Prize in Peace. Coming back to the point, feelings and expressions of a person who is communicating via internet can be easily understood by using different translators. Several times during the web surfing we need to translate the webpages from one language to another language. People get tired by opening different online translators, for instance:

Google Translation,

Babel Fish,
Free Translation,
Babylon Online Translation etc.

I have good news for the Google Talk users; they can use Google Talk for the immediate translation. Users can also translate the sentences in real time chatting. The basic concept behind this translation facility is that user actually interacts with one of the Translation Bots. These Bots give the translation of the previously sent text in response. The nomenclature for these Bots consists of two parts joined with "2" and trailed by "@bot.talk.google.com" e.g.

If you want to get the translation of English sentence "How are you?" in German then you have to send this message to en2de@bot.talk.google.com where en is the used for English and de for Deutschland (Germany) and it will respond with "Wie geht es Ihnen?"

How to Change MAC Address of A Computer

Why to Change MAC Address?

Sometimes, it becomes necessary to change the physical address of the computer whether it is due to the privacy point of view or to resolve the internet connectivity issues i.e. ISP (Internet Service Provider) issues an IP it may be a static or dynamic. Internet subscriptions are allowed for a static IP address in most of the cases. Therefore, ISP monitors and keeps the track record of the MAC address for all the connected devices. If customer replaces the PC or network adapters then its new MAC address does not match with the registered address; so ISP instantly blocks all internet services.

Physical Address:

MAC address which is the abbreviation of Medium Access Control is also known as Physical address. It is a unique tag given to each LAN card by the manufacturers for the identification purposes. If you have experienced to use a mobile phone then you can easily understand the concept of MAC address. Just like the unique IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number for the cell phones there is MAC address for network cards.

Cloning:

MAC address cannot be changed; it is a combination of 12 alphabets and numeric values which are fixed and serves combined as a permanent identity for the hardware. However, we can emulate any MAC address in software. This technique is called cloning.

There are two useful methods which depend on the type of your LAN card. If your LAN card supports Clone MAC address then use the first method otherwise try the second one.

Method 1
For Network Cards Supporting Cloning

Right click at the Computer and chose Manage from the menu.
At the left side, click at the Device Manager under the System Tools. All the devices attached to the computer would be displayed.

3. Expand the Network Adapters and double click to open it.

4. Open the Advanced next to the General tab.

5. Click at the Network Address and enter the new MAC address.

Note:

Value for MAC address should not exceed up to the 12 alphanumeric values.
Check your network configurations to see its effect by typing ipconfig /all in the command prompt.
Reboot your computer if change does not occur.

Method 2

For Network Cards Not Supporting Cloning

You need to have backup of your registry entries and must know sufficient use of Windows Registry before the implementation. If your answer is in negation then do not worry, you still go through by using SMAC which is developed for spoofing (In this case do not implement following six steps and read the Note written in the end).

1- Click Start Menu | RUN and type cmd to open command prompt.

2- Type ipconfig /all and note the Description and Physical Address in a Notepad file.

3- Type net config rdr and also note the long number trailed by the NetBT_Tcpip_{number-to-note}

4- Click at Start Menu | RUN and type regedit to begin the registry editing.

5- Go to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE | SYSTEM | CurrentControlSet | Control | Class | {4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}. You will see the directories comprising the name of 4 digits starting with 0000 and so on.

6- Observe each directory starting from 0000, 0001, … for the keyword:

a. DriverDesc on the right, to check whether it is the network adapter you want to change MAC address. It should match with the Description you have noted in Step 2-

b. NetCfgInstanceID also on the right, to verify whether it is the same long number which you previously noted in Step 3-

Repeat this process until you find the required directory. In this figure 0004 is selected.

7- Now, make sure that the keyword NetworkAddress exists in the right side of the window of type REG_SZ. Double click at this keyword and insert the desired MAC address in the Value field of opened String Editor.

Note:
Mostly, MAC address does not active immediately. So, follow these steps:

Open Control Panel | Network Connections and Disable the network adapted you just changed the MAC address.
After some moments make it Enable.
Now, your DHCP server will detect your new MAC address and issue the new IP.
Check your new IP by typing ipconfig /all in the command prompt.
Reboot your computer after finishing these steps.

Serial Port

Today (16th June, 2010), Microsoft has released the Office 2010 for the retailers. It is the result of the efforts of whole Microsoft Team started right after the release of Microsoft Office 2007. This is the stable release of Office 2010 available in many languages i.e English, Chinese, Russian, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Czech, Dutch, Swedish and Finnish. Microsoft still giving the opportunity to download it from Office official site for the trial period of 60 days.

Some interesting facts about these release are:

I am very glad to tell you that Google Translate will now support Urdu. Urdu - the official language of Pakistan with the worldwide speakers of 100 million. Urdu is spoken in Pakistan, India and Bangladesh. Translation facility provided by the Google has expanded to the family of 57 different languages with the addition of 5 new alpha languages which are:

As these languages are available with the alpha mode so translation would not be as accurate as other languages are. Tweak Windows XP - Disable Thumbnail Cache

Windows XP has a elegant feature for image and video files that creates a "thumbnail" of the image and the very first frame of the video file and then put this captured frame or image as the icon for the file. Windows Explorer can do this thing in two different ways. Firstly, by making the thumbnail at each time you open the respective folder and secondly, by loading the thumbnail from previously saved thumbnails which are placed in the cache which we call thumbnail cache. With the passage of time, system has a large collection of the thumbnails or very large cache memory for them. So in order to increase the opening time of the folders you have to delete this cached memory.

"DisableThumbnailCache"=dword:00000001

To disable the Thumbnail Cache:

Open Registry Editor from Satrt | Run | regedit
Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced and
Find the DWORD "DisableThumbnailCache".
Sometimes you may need to create this key.
For systems where the number of graphic and video files is large, a setting of 1 is recommended and a setting of 0 is recommended for systems which have no concerns about hard drive space, as loading the files from the cache is significantly faster than creating them each time when a folder is accessed.

Do you know there is a built in user tracking system in Windows XP which is not beneficialfor the majority of computer user. Approximately 99% of users do not need this feature because there are very few uses for the information collected by user tracking system. Moreover, this feature utilize precious resources to boot so you should have to disable this feature to increase the efficiency of your Windows XP.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ Explorer] "NoInstrumentation"=dword:00000001

To disable this feature, follow these steps:

Open Registry Editor from the RUN command by typing "regedit".
Browse to the location HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\
Explorer it and find the DWORD NoInstrumentation.
If this key is not there then you have to create it manually.
