Looks like it currently supports Mac, Windows and Linux, but many users have said that it requires an internet connection to function (Adobe says they are working on this, but no ETA).

Brackets also supports added plugins – for instance the new Extract plugin is useful for extracting CSS code from PSD files.

The Extract for Brackets (Preview) extension lets you pull out design information from a PSD including colors, fonts, gradients, and measurement information as clean, minimal CSS via contextual code hints. You can also extract layers as images, use information from the PSD to define preprocessor variables, and easily get dimensions between objects.

Brackets is new, so only a few plugins are available, but it is worth looking at. It comes with a default light and dark themes, ability to split screens, and a live preview (works only with Chrome browser for now).

The invoices appear to be legitimate Apple “receipts” that iTunes users are familiar with seeing after purchasing music or apps. Most of us would be shocked by the price that appears to have been charged on our credit card. We will immediately want to click the link to view or report a problem – don’t. The links take you to fake IRS pages and ask you to download browsers (malware).

Take a close look at the invoice and notice the mistakes and/or odd words/actions. A legitimate invoice will have your name/email and address listed, and should have the last 4 digits of your credit card in the upper right of the invoice.

Don’t click any links. Delete the message, or if you prefer, call Apple or your Credit Card company.

The frustrating error Code 8024402C is popping up on many Windows 7 installations. If your “Try Again” button simply results in the same error message repeating itself, try the following.

Instead of click the “Try Again” button, click the link at the bottom to “Check online for updates from Microsoft Update”.

This usually results in a few seconds of “green bar” and then a window that shows you that updates have been found.  From here you can install updates as normal.

First  you’ll need to go to your Mac’s System Preferences and turn on Sharing.

Enable Remote Management

A series of options will drop down – you don’t need to check any  of these options at this time. Just click “OK”.

Make sure to click on the “Computer Settings” button once you dismiss the above dialog box.  Also be sure to make note of your IP address listed.  You’ll need that later.

Once you click on the “Computer Settings” button, you’ll see a check box for “VNC viewers may control ….”.

Enable that checkbox, and be sure to set a password to make your connections a bit more secure.

Click “OK” after making the changes. We’re done on the Mac side. Now off to your Windows PC.

On your Windows PC, download and install TightVNC.  You can get it at TightVNC.com.

When you run the install, you can uncheck to install the “Server” portion. We won’t need it to connect to the Mac.

Once installed, run TightVNC and enter the IP address for the Mac you enabled remote management for above.

Enter the password you configured on your Mac and your in.

You may have to change the screen resolution of your Mac to get the best fit to your PCs screen.

You now have control of your Mac – you can do anything you would normally do as if you were sitting at the Mac.

Orb is completely free and allows you to access not only iTunes content, but any video, music, or photos on your system’s hard drive and stream it to just about any device on the Internet.

Setting up Orb is simple.  Download Orb for either Mac or Windows.

Start the installation and Orb asks for your account information. If you don’t have an account, you can set one up during the install.

Orb indexes your iTunes content automatically, but if you have more media to add, then used the advanced tab to specify for folders.

Once Orb has indexed all your content, you can close the installation wizard and login to mycast.orb.com to further configure your streaming, channels, and playlists.

Now that Orb is setup, you can use any browser on your network, a friends house, your iPhone, Blackberry, Xbox, Wii, or PS3 to receive content from your media library.

Nero 9 Lite allows  you to burn data CDs or DVDs and copy disks as well.

The additional functions listed in the menu are only available via an upgrade, but if you need simple copying and disk creation, then Nero Lite is all you need.

The software can be found at the Nero website.

Negotiate to the Downloads page and choose the Nero 9 Lite.

Enter your email address to start the download.

During the installation you will be asked to install the Nero Toolbar (I couldn’t find a way to remove this option), but you can remove it from your browser’s toolbar after the installation completes.
