Visto che ci piacciono tanto le ricette e gli abbinamenti, ho scovato questo bel programmino italiano, spartano esteticamente ma funzionale.
Si tratta di un archivio dei vini DOC e DOCG italiani, per ogni vino sono presenti diverse voci quali

• il nome del vino
• il vitigno
• la provincia
• l’esame visivo, gustativo e olfattivo
• il tenore alcolico
• l’invecchiamento
• e la temperatura di servizio

Per ogni scheda è presente uno spazio aggiuntivo dove inserire note personali o altre informazioni. E’ anche possibile effettuare ricerche in base alle voci presentate precedentemente e a parametri aggiuntivi

Ovviamente si può arricchire la propria collezione, aggiungendo nuovi vini, basta cliccare sull’icona col “+” e compilare i vari campi.

I’ve always been skeptical of those programs that promise to optimize your computer’s performance once installed. In most of the software I tested even noticed a performance degradation.

The program in question is called CleanMem is essentially remove all unnecessary processes, but unlike other similar software that work in the background, CleanMem be carried out for thirty minutes and during which frees all the memory as possible.

Using CleanMem, the memory consumption by Firefox and Chrome is drastically reduced.
Personally I have tried CleanMem for a couple of weeks and I am satisfied.

So how does CleanMem work?
CleanMem Works by calling a Windows API. CleanMem doesn’t change the working set of a processes. It simply asks Windows to do all the work. So Windows does the trimming, the moving and manages everything. This is why there is never any crashes of programs and any performance hit to the system. To put it short CleanMem doesn’t work against the Windows memory manager, it works with it.

 CleanMem is FREE  (only the Mini Monitor is Free/Pro) .

Woodland Wiggle is an interactive game displayed on a television the size of a room. It allows children to enter into a storybook illustrated world enabling them to paint; play music; and trigger sun, rain, snow and rainbows weather effects with animated animal characters across a number of woodland scenes. A permanent installation at Europe’s newest hospital, The Royal London, which helps children benefit from the healing powers of art and play.

Woodland Wiggle is a collaboration with Nexus Interactive Arts and commissioned byVital Arts. Illustration and animation by Felix Massie, with sound design and music by Brains & Hunch.

Working in close consultation with clinical teams at the hospital, and following a series of workshops with physiotherapists and occupational therapists, I was able to determine a range of movements that would give children the best health benefits which strongly influenced the format and design of the games created.

The installation had to work with a wide range of abilities, from wheelchair users, visually impaired, to bed bound children, so simple movement filtering allows for triggering of music & paint with just a wave of the hands.

Created in C++ using openFrameworks and an Xbox Kinect camera, to bring the unimaginable to life by reflecting the children’s video image within the scene in real-time, allowing them escape the reality of their daily treatment and interact with the exciting animated environment.

It is part of a project that has created two stunning innovative play and garden spaces – an outdoor “sky garden” and an indoor Alice in Wonderland-style play area – at the hospital. Both are designed to provide healing spaces for young patients far away from the usual hospital ward sterility.
