Now the new UTFT library will support a number of 8bit, 16bit and serial graphic displays, and will work with both Arduino and chipKit boards.The library works great with the ITDB02 series of display modules : ITDB02-1.8SP, ITDB02-2.2SP, ITDB02-2.2, ITDB02-2.4D,ITDB02-2.8, ITDB02-3.2S.

And the future version will also support ITDB02-2.5, ITDB02-3.2WD, ITDB02-4.3 and ITDB02-5.0. Now Henning is testing its compatibility of ITDB02-4.3 and ITDB02-5.0, soon you will see these 2 large TFT module in stock, and we hope the UTFT can support them as well at that time : )

“The Uzebox is a retro-minimalist 8-bit open source game console. It is based on an AVR 8-bit general purpose microcontroller made by Atmel. Functions such as video signal generation, tile rendering and music mixing is done in realtime by a background task so your game can easily be developed in C. The design goal was to be as simple as possible yet have good enough sound and graphics to implement interesting games. Emphasis was put on making it easy and fun to assemble and program for any hobbyists. The final design contains only two chips: an ATmega644 and an AD725 RGB-to-NTSC converter.”

Now we cooperate with Alec to promote this Uzebox project. We provide the Uzebox Full KIT for who want to build their own on a budget. If you just want to spend your time on the software/game developing, but not in the hardware soldering, we also can offer you the assembled Uzebox board. No matter the Kits or the assembled board, will come with 2 SNES controllers (clone).

As related accessories, we will stock the 2.5″ NTSC interface LCD for display , and the AVRISP programmer for update firmware.

First, we put orders together and make a large board. So, this is why we repeatedly stated that we will not accept the single design and not accept the combined design , no drills line and long slot can’t be accepted – even you don’t need the V-slot to cut them out ,  we are not accept them , because it will make us confusion and easy to incorrectly split them. So again, if your gerber is not single design, your order will be pause until we get the correct one, so it will waste much more time for you to get the board.

When we get the large board from factory , we will do the e-test again – actually , the factory will do the 50% e-test for us , so what we do is to test the rest 50%.

Next, to split the boards out for each orders. This is why we need to add the order number and serial number on your board, some client ask us not to add the characters on their board, it’s hard to do that, if we don’t add these characters we can not identify them for each order.

The PCBs are dirty after the cutting process. So we need to clean them. The clean machine has 4 steps to clean the boards: with Strong winds – High pressure water spray – High-temperature drying – hot strong winds again. So the boards come out from the machine is very clean – for the small boards like 1cm x 1cm, we cannot put them into machine but just just can clean them by hand.

Last step, we package the boards and ship them to you : )

We get some feedbacks of IComsat, many clients complain that it can not be power on by software but need to press the “Power” button. In this new version, we upgrade this software power on function with IComsat now. Not only can use the button for power on , but also can use the digital pin of Arduino to power on (D9) and reset (D10) the SIM900 module.

In order to facilitate the development of voice, we add two 3.5mm jack socket on board for MIC and Headset.

The new version retain the UART/Debug switch, so it will offer you the possibility to update your firmware to SIM900 or debug the SIM900 by Debug port. You can get more information about this switch in the IComsat datasheet.

We will stop processing PCB prototype in Jan.15th (GMT+8), so all the Gerber files after Jan.14th may not be processed until Jan.28th. ITEAD studio will close from Jan.20th to Jan.30th, so all the orders after Jan.19th will be processed after Jan.31th. If you want to make sure your package be shipped before our break, you should place your order before Jan.16th, because we need 2-3 days to process your order.

Henning has a ITDB02_Graph and ITDB02_Graph16 library for Arduino and ChipKIT, these libraries support some models of ITDB02 series LCD. And the ITDB02_Touch and ITDB02_TinyFAT library support all models of ITDB02 LCDs that has Touch screen and SD cark socket.

First one is Iteaduino MEGA2560, it is a derivative version of the Arduino MEGA 2560. But the smaller size, lower power consumption.  Iteaduino MEGA2560 compatible with most our Arduino shields and it can work with 3.3V or 5V operation level. In addition, it has all ATMega2560 pins breakout, which more 16 pins than Arduino MEGA 2560.

The second one is our new TFT LCD module of ITDB02 Series. ITBD02-1.8SP is a 1.8″ TFT LCD module with serial interface. Instead of using the 8/16bit parallel bus, you just need 4 pins (CS,RS,SCL,SDA) to control this LCD module. The TFT LCD is 1.8″ with 128×160 resolution, 262K colors. There is LDO and Level converter chips on board, so the ITDB02-1.8SP support both 5V or 3.3V operation level. For power supply, you can use the 3.3V power via “3.3V” PIN, so 5-9V power via “VIN” PIN.

The last product is the ITBD02 TFT LCD as well, but this is a 2.2″ one. ITDB02-2.2SP is 2.2″ LCD display  with resolution 176×220, 262K color. The rest are all the same as the ITDB02-1.8SP.

After that, customers keep asking if we can offer them the SMT stencil for their small batches PCBs, and whether we can STM / assemble the boards for them. So now we set up a new department which will serve for these requirements.

Stencil plays a very important role in the surface mount technology. There are three popular types of stencil, Chemical-etched, Electroformed, and Laser Cut stencils. Each of them usually was made by stainless steel, and have different accuracy basing on different process.

Now, at first, we just provide the Chemical-etched stencil service, which is inexpensive with lower accuracy, but it’s enough for many small batch production, if your boards not the computer or mobile phone main board, extensive use of micro-devices like SMD 0201/0402 components, this stencil service is enough for you.

We provide 6 different frame size for the chemical-etched stencil, the price starts at $45. The AVAILABLE size will be a little smaller than frame size, so please make some margin when you place the order.

Of course, we can accept some source file for making the stencil, but just be the Eagle file, PADS file and Altium Designer file.
