Samsung introduces its latest addition to its tablet line, the Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0) that serves as the successor to the original 7-inch Galaxy Tab model. Powered by a 1GHz dual core processor with 1GB of RAM, the Galaxy Tab 2 is the company’s first Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0-powered tablet. It comes with a 1024×600 PLS touchscreen, a 3 Megapixel main camera, and a VGA front-facing camera for video chat.

Samsung’s new tablet supporting Full HD video recording at 30fps. It comes with 8GB, 16GB or 32GB of onboard memory and supports microSD/SDHC up to 32GB. The Galaxy Tab 2 is available in WiFi-only model and WiFi+3G model. It supports Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi 802.11b/g/n with support for WiFi Direct and the 3G version adds A-GPS and Glonass. Verizon has released the Motorola DROID 4, which is the thinnest 4G QWERTY smartphone. Introduced at the CES 2012, the DROID 4 is a 4G LTE mobile phone running Android 2.3.5 operating system. It is available from Verizon Wireless for $199.99 with a new 2-year contract.

The Motorola DROID 4 is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. Olympus introduces new E-M5, the first model in its new OM-D (OM Digital) Series of Micro Four Thirds camera system, build upon the 40-year legacy of the OM SLR film camera series. The MX512 features the Dual Function Panel for easy navigation through menus, an Ethernet port for increased connectivity, integrated 30-sheet Auto Document Feeder, and Auto Duplex printing to help conserve paper usage. It has a 2.5-inch LCD screen for easy operation and preview images, and multiple card slots (SD/SDHC, microSD/SDHC, MMC, MS PRO/PRO Duo/Micro) for printing directly from memory cards . The MX432 also has integrated 30-sheet Auto Document Feeder and a 2-line LCD display. The MX372 OFFERS 8.7ipm for black-and-white and 5.0ipm for color printer speeds. All three models can produce a 4″x6″ borderless photos in approximately 46 seconds. They all feature the FastFront system that allows users to open the front panel of the printer to easily access both the ink and paper for easy replacement. Pentax introduces its 13th generation of rugged waterproof digital camera, the Optio WG-2 and the Optio WG-2 GPS that are the successor to the WG-1. The two new rugged cameras are adventure proof. They are not just waterproof to up to 40 feet (12 meters), but are also shockproof to withstand from drops up to 5 feets, crushproof to withstand weights up to 220 LBF (pound force), coldproof to sub-freezing temperatures of minus 10 degrees C, and dustproof to operate in dusty environments. A tough mineral crystal cover protects internal lens elements and a SP coating helps eater sheet off the optical surface.

Pentax’s WG-2 and WG-2 GPS supports Full HD 1080p video recording at 30fps and offers HDMI output for playback of images and HD videos in HDTVs. They use SD/SDHC/SDXC for storage. The WG-2 will be available in black or vermillion red for $349.95 and the WG-2 GPS in shiny orange and gloss white for $399.95. They will be shipped in March. The new SportMount Chest Harness will be priced at $49.95 USD and should be available late spring or early summer 2012.

LG launches in Europe its BP40NS20, a super slim portable Blu-ray burner. Using USB 2.0 interface, the portable optical drive burns BD-R, BD-RE, BD-R DL, BD-RE DL at up to 6x. Other than conventional Blu-ray Discs, the BP40NS20 also supports playback of 3D Blu-ray Discs and BDXL. It has 4MB buffer memory.

The USB Blu-ray burner also writes DVD+/-R at up to 8x, DVD-RW at 6x and DVD+R at 8x, DVD-RAM at 5x as well as CD-R and CD-RW at 24x. With LightScribe support, users can burn customized labels onto a special coated LightScribe discs, creating a fully personalized disc.
