While the CMT-V75BTiP and CMT-V50iP are designed for iPhone, iPod and iPad, Sony’s new CMT-V70B and CMT-V50 are HiFi systems for the company’s Walkman music players featuring WM-Port. The slim music systems can play music from docked Walkman player supporting MP3, WMA, ATRA, PCM, AAC/HE-AAC music files. They deliver 20Wx 2 output with Magnetic Fluid technology for clear sound and S-Master digital amplifier for high quality sound output.

The CMT-V70B and CMT-V50 also come with built-in CD player that plays Audio CD, CD-R/RW and MP3. Users can also rip audio CD to their Walkman in 128kbps format. The former adds Bluetooth connectivity with A2DP and AVRCP profiles, allowing users to stream music wirelessly from Bluetooth-enabled devices, including iPhone, iPad and Android smartphones/tablets. Lenovo expands its ThinkPad Ultrabook lineup with the new X1 Carbon, which is the lightest 14-inch Ultrabook in the industry. Nokia unveiled four new affordable mobile phones, the Nokia 110 and 112 with dual-SIM capability and their single-SIM variant, Nokia 111 and 113. All these phones come in classic candy-bar form factor and feature a 1.8-inch color display, a VGA camera and Bluetooth. They all offer access to Facebook, Twitter and social networking sites, and the 112/113 adds eBuddy IM.

Toshiba’s adds 1.5TB models to its Canvio 3.0 and Canvio Basics 3.0 USB hard drives. The Canvio USB 3.0 hard drives both come with a special internal shock sensor and ramp loading technology to protect files against accidents and drops. Using USB 3.0 interface, they can deliver a higher data transfer speeds. Both drives are compatible with Mac.

They feature the new Intelligent power consumption features that, according to Lenovo, help deliver a 160 percent improvement in performance per watt compared to previous generation Lenovo servers. The built-in full redundancy reduces 90 percent of server downtime due to single point system failure. They also include Smart Grid power management technology that leverages Intel Node Manager to scale power management to the data center level.

The RD530 and RD630 are powered by choices of Intel Xeon E5-2600 processor with up to 8 cores and up to 320GB of RAM deployable in 20 DIMM slots. They feature hardware and advanced RAID (redundant array of independent disks) controller options, with the RS530 supports up to 8 hot-swappable hard drives and RS630 supports up to 16 drives. SAS hard drives and SSDs are available as options. The two new ThinkServers have a new chassis design that improves thermal efficiency 30 percent.

The ThinkServer RD530 and ThinkServer RD630 will be released in Mid-June starting at $2399 and $2699 respectively.

Lenovo announced its line of ThinkStation E31 entry-level workstations for professional on tech budget. Ideal for small-to-medium businesses, the E31 is offered as a mini tower or small form factor (SFF). The E31 is powered by Intel’s Xeon E3-1200v2 or 3rd gen Ivy Bridge Core i7 processor, and up to 32GB of Error Correcting Code (ECC) memory. As for graphics, the workstation can be equipped with Intel HD Graphics P4000 or NVIDIA Quadro Graphic cards, with mid-tower get up to Q4000 and SFF up to Q600.

The mid-tower model of ThinkCenter E31 is big enough to have three hard drives, offering up to 9TB of storage while the more compact SFF model gets 6TB of space. There are also SSD options. The entry-level ThinkCenter offer four USB 3.0 ports for faster transfer rate and five USB 2.0 ports. Lenovo’s E31 are loaded with Windows 7 and are Windows 8-ready.

The ThinkStation E31 workstations will be released in June, starting at $629.
