<p>AT&amp;T announced the launch of Samsung Galaxy Appeal, the first smartphone offered with the carrier&#8217;s pre-paid GoPhone service. The Appeal is a side-slider QWERTY smartphone running Android 2.3 Gingerbread. As an entry-level device, it is boosted by a Qualcomm MSM7225A 800MHz processor, 512MB RAM. According to Samsung, the handset&#8217;s plastic parts are made of 80-percent recycled material and it ships with reduced packaging material, cutting back on paper usage.<br />

<p>The Galaxy Appeal, the latest member of <a title="Samsung Galaxy" href="http://www.itechnews.net/tag/samsung-galaxy">the Galaxy family</a>, sports a 3.2-inch 480&#215;320 HVGA touchscreen, a 3 Megapixel camera with video recording and a QWERTY keyboard for easy text input. If the internal 1.8GB ROM is not enough, you can add up to 32GB of external memory using microSD card. It comes with a 1300mAh li-ion battery.</p>
<p>The Samsung Galaxy Appeal QWERTY smartphone will be released on 16 July for $149.99 at Walmart and AT&amp;T, with GoPhone plans.</p>

<p>Juniper Systems has partnered with Pennsylvania-based SDG Systems to bring the RAMPAGE 6 Mesa Rugged Notepad rugged handheld computer. While the original Mesa Rugged Notepad runs Windows Mobile 6.5.3, the new model uses Android 2.3 operating system and keeps many of the features and benefits. The device is rugged with IP67 waterproof and dustproof protection, meeting MIL-STD-810G standard and shockproof against multiple drops from 1.2 meter onto concrete. You can even add optional Class I, Div 2 non-incendive rating for use in hazardous locations.</p>
<p>The RAMPAGE 6 is powered by a 806Mhz processor with 256MB of RAM and 4GB flash memory. It has a magnesium alloy case front and plastic back. The rugged haneld has a 5.7-inch 640&#215;480 touchscreen and supports WiFi .It has USB ports, RS-232C 9-pin D connector with 5VD, and 3.5mm jack. Other than standard model, there are also Geo model with 3.2 Megapixel camera and GPS, and the Geo 3G with 3G support. Users can also add a 1D/2D barcode scanner.</p>

Silicon Power introduces its entry-level 2.5-inch SSD, the Technology T10 series with a brushed metallic casing. The T10 SSD uses SATA II interface and comes with unknown amount of DDR3 cache memory for improved performance. It is available in 32GB, 64GB, 128GB an 256GB capacities.</p>
<p>The T10 features wear-leveling for extended lifespan and supports TRIM command, S.M.A.R.T and ECC error correction functions.</p>

<p>Verizon launches the new Jetpack 890L by ZTE <a title="4G LTE Mobile Hotspot" href="http://www.itechnews.net/tag/lte-mobile-hotspot">mobile hotspot with support for 4G LTE</a> network. The new device allows you to share high-speed 4G connection to up to 10 WiFi-enabled devices (5 devices in 3G) at one time. When using Verizon&#8217;s 4G LTE network, it delivers fast download speeds of 5 to 12Mbps and upload speeds of 2 to 5 Mbps.</p>
<p>Other than support for Verizon&#8217;s CDMA EVDO 800/1900 3G and 4G LTE 700MHz networks, the Jetpack 890L is also Global Ready with support for quad-band GSM/EDGE and quad-band HSPA+ network, allowing users to enjoy mobile connection in over 200 countries. The device supports 802.11b/g/n WiFi standard and WEP/WPA/WPA2 security. It comes with a OLED status display, and offers up to five hours of battery life.</p>
<p>The Jetpack 890L is available for $19.99 after $50 mail-in rebate with a 2-year contract.</p>

<p>AAXA Technologies introduces the P4 WiFi that, as its name tells, is WiFi-enabled version of the P4 pico projector. Compare to 80 lumens of the <a title="AAXA P4 Pico Projector – World’s Brightest Battery Powered Projector" href="http://www.itechnews.net/2011/10/17/aaxa-p4-pico-projector-worlds-brightest-battery-powered-projector/">original P4</a>, the new WiFi model also offers a higher brightness of 100 lumens, using triple LEDs light engine enhanced with Osram Converter Green technology. The P4 WiFi features 1280&#215;768 resolution and 2000:1 contrast ratio.</p>

<p>The pico projector runs Windows CE 6.0 and comes with built-in media player capable of 720p HD video playback. With WiFi connectivity, users can access online content and browse the web using the included wireless keyboard and mouse combo. Other than 2GB onboard memory, the pocket projector also has microSD card slot and USB port for viewing files from USB storage device. The pre-loaded Softmaker Office suite also allows users to view and edit Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Adobe PDF files, making PC-free presentation possible. It also supports playback MP3, WMA, OGG, WAV, MP4, AVI, WMV media files as well as BMP, JPG, GIF images, which means you can use it as a standalone media player/projector.</p>
<p>The AAXA P4 WiFi accepts VGA and A/V inputs and is equipped with 1w speaker. The rechargeable Li-ion battery offers 75 minutes of continuous use. The price is $399.</p>

<p>Pentax introduces the K-30, its new weather- and dust-proof digital SLR camera which is ideal for photographers with active outdoor lifestyles. The K-30 is compact and lightweight and comes with a weather, dust and cold resistant body featuring 81 seals set. According to Pentax, the camera is able to operate in sub-freezing temperatures as low as 14°F (-10°C).<br />

<p>The K-30 sports a 16 Megapixel APS-C CMOS image sensor, the PRIME M image processing engine that not only offers image processing power but is also optimized for Full HD video capture and delivers low chromatic noise. The camera is equipped with the new SAFOX IXi+ Autofocus (AF) engine to provide responsive, high-precision autofocus operation by incorporating a diffraction lens to minimize chromatic aberration in accordance to the characteristics of each individual lens. Also, its low profile glass pentaprism viewfinder offers a 100% field of view and approximately 0.92X maximum magnification. Other features include sensor-shift Shake and Dust Reduction technology, 77 segment metering system, in-camera HDR shooting modes and ISO up to 25600. The Custom Image function provides 11 custom settings for users to personalize a photo.</p>

<p>The Pentax K-30 features high-speed shutter unit with a top speed of 1/6000 second, and supports 6fps high speed continuous shooting. It comes with dual electronic dials for quick, fingertip access to exposure control and several Auto Picture and scene modes, and a 3-inch large LCD display. It supports Full HD 1920&#215;1080 video recording with h.264 compression.</p>
<p>The K-30 is compatible with all K-mount lenses. It will be available in July in Crystal White and Crystal Blue with glossy finish, and black. The price is $839.95 for body, and $899.95 for the kit including the DA L 18-55mm zoom lens.</p>

<p>Panasonic introduces the new LUMIX G X VARIO 12-35mm/F2.8 ASPH./POWER O.I.S. (model H-HS12035) digital interchangeable standard zoom lens for Micro Four Thirds system. The lens is the latest edition to the premium lens brand X. It features a zoom range of 12-35mm (35mm camera equivalent: 24-70mm) and a constant F.28 aperture. It includes POWER O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) for shooting clear, blur-free photos even in low light environments.</p>
<p>The  LUMIX G X VARIO 12-35mm/F2.8 is comprised of 14 lenses in nine groups, with UED (Ultra Extra-Low Dispersion) lens to minimize chromatic aberration and the UHR (Ultra High Refractive) lens to realize high descriptive performance from corner to corner. IUt also features the Nano Surface Coating technology which minimizes reflections at entire visual range (380nm-780nm).</p>
<p>Panasonic&#8217;s new lens complies with the Micro Four Thirds system and is compatible with its LUMIX G Series cameras. It is about 73.8mm in length and weighs 10.76oz. The lens will be released in August.</p>

<p>Elgato is launching the Game Capture HD, that allows users to record their PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 gameplay to a Mac or PC for sharing with friends. Basically, the device sits between the consoles and HDTV to accepts HDMI input from Xbox 360 and A/V input from PlayStation, and pass through gameplay to HDTV via HDMI output. It is at the same time connected to a Mac or PC via USB for recording. The game recorder uses hardware H.264 encoding, allowing HD quality recording in small file size.</p>
<p>The Game Capture HD supports up to 1080i resolution. It comes with software for capturing gameplay and offers Flashback Recording for users to timeshift gameplay. You can share your gameplay to YouTube, Facebook and Twitter easily with just one click. The compact game recorder measures 73 x 24 x 109 mm. It comes with a USB cable, a HDMI cable and a PlayStation cable.</p>

<p>Sony launches in Asia its new Handycam HDR-GW77, a rugged pocket Full HD camcorder. The GW77 is more or less the same as its brother GW55, but adds 16GB internal memory in addition to support for Memory Stick Micro and MicroSD/SDHC memory cards. It is waterproof up to 5 meter depth, shockproof against up to 1.5 meter fall and dustproof. Like the <a title="Sony Handycam GW55VE Waterproof Full HD Pocket Camcorder" href="http://www.itechnews.net/2012/03/02/sony-handycam-gw55ve-waterproof-full-hd-pocket-camcorder/">GW55</a>, the camcorder is equipped with a 1/3.91 type 20.4 Megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor and a Sony G Lens lens with 10x optical zoom.</p>

<p>The rugged, compact Handycam is capable of Full HD 1920&#215;1080/50p video recording in MPEG4-AVC/H.264 AVCHD format. It features Optical SteadyShot with Active Mode for smooth and stable video recording, and the Extended Zoom to push the zoom range to 17x. Users can use the Swing Panorama function to record the whole sweep of the landscape with a single press of the shutter button, and the Self Portrait Timer to shoot shoot properly framed and clear images of themselves. The Highlight Playback function will automatically edits and saves events as playback-ready short movies at the touch of a button.</p>
<p>The camcorder comes with a swivel 3-inch Xtra Fine LCD touchscreen display. It comes with PlayMemories Home software for editing and management of videos and images, which also let you upload you videos to social sites. The Sony Handycam HDR-GW77 will be released in June in Hong Kong for HK$5980 (US$770).</p>

<p>Other than the ultraportable X230/X230T, mainstream T430/T430s/T530, and W530 mobile workstation, Lenovo also brings the more affordable ThinkPad L430 and L530 notebooks for business users. Both notebooks are powered by Intel&#8217;s 3rd gen Core (Ivy Bridge) processor up to Core i5 and dedicated NVIDIAA graphics with Optimus technology. They sport up to 8GB of RAM and up to 1TB hard drive (256GB SSD optional).<br />

<p>The L430 and L530 both have 180-degree metal hinges and pass MIL-SPEC tests and ThinkPad torture tests for durability. The former gets a 14-inch display while the L540 is a 15.6-inch notebook. They also comes with integrated optical drive, 4-in-1 card reader and USB connector. Other features include Dolby Advanced Audio v2 sound enhance,ent, 720p HD webcam, the new precision keyboard with optional backlight, TrackPoint, VGA output, Mini DisplayPort and optional ExpressCard 54 card slot and smart card reader.</p>
<p>Lenovo will release the ThinkPad L430 and L530 in June starting at $879.</p>

<p>Lenovo is launching in June the new ThinkPad W530 mobile workstation designed for those who need processing power and graphics performance on the go. Equipped with the latest Ivy Bridge 3rd gen Core processor up to quad-core Core i7 and NVIDIA Quadro 1100M or 2100M graphics with 2GB RAM and Optimus technology, the machine is ready to handle professional applications such as CAD/CAM, GIS and 3D modeling. It is an independent software vendor (ISV)-certified workstation and comes with a 15.6-inch Full HD 270-nit wide viewing angle LCD display with 95% color gamut and a built-in X-Rite color calibrator. According to Lenovo, the W530 meets eight MIL-SPEC tests for durability.<br />

<p>The W530, replacing the W520, sports up to 32GB of RAM, up to 1TB hard drive or 256GB SSD, integrated optical drive and a card reader. It comes with new precision keyboard with optional backlight, dual-array HD microphone with noise-cancelling, integrated 720p HD webcam, USB 3.0 ports, 1394 port as well as WiFi connectivity. The notebook offers VGA and DisplayPort output and supports up to four external displays with optional ThinkPad dock.</p>
<p>The Lenovo ThinkPad W530 will be released in June starting at $1529.</p>

<p>Lenovo introduces its range of Ivy Bridge-powered mainstream notebooks &#8211; ThinkPad T430, T430s and T530. The T430s, replacing <a title="Lenovo ThinkPad T420s Notebook with RapidBoot Extreme Boots up in 10 seconds" href="http://www.itechnews.net/2011/05/11/lenovo-thinkpad-t420s-notebook-with-rapidboot-extreme-boots-up-in-10-seconds/">T420s</a>,  with its &#8216;s&#8217; stands for slim, is the lightest 14-inch ThinkPad with docking. Other than the latest Intel Ivy Bridge 3rd gen Core processor, some models will also sport dedicated NVIDIA graphics card. All these notebooks can be equipped with up to 16GB of RAM. While the 14-inch T430 and T430s come with up to either 500GB hard drive or 256GB SSD, the 15-inch T530 can get up to 1TB hard drive or 256GB SSD.<br />

<p>Lenovo&#8217;s new <a title="Lenovo ThinkPad" href="http://www.itechnews.net/tag/thinkpad">ThinkPads</a> come with integrated optical drive and a 4-in-1 card reader. They feature 720p HD webcam with face tracking, Dolby Advanced Audio v2 (Dolby Home Theater for T430s), and dual array HD microphone and mini DisplayPort output. You can also find USB 3.0 connector and support for Bluetooth, WiFi and optional 4G mobile broadband connectivity. The T430, T430s and T530 notebooks also sport the new precision keyboard with optional backlight. The T430 and T530 offer over 30 hours of battery life when they are configure with 9-cell batteries and optional battery slices. They support Rapid Charge technology for rejuicing the battery to 80% in just 30 minutes.</p>
<p>Lenovo&#8217;s ThinkPad T430, T430s and T530 will be released in June. The former two will start at $879 and $1399 respectively.</p>

The powerful disc burner features PowerRead to provide smoother movie playback for discs marked with fingerprints or with minor surface scratches; PureRead2 to prevent clicking or poping sound; Auto Quiet Mode that minimize operating noise; and Peak Power Reducer that can reduce the drive&#8217;s peak power to ensure stable operation. <p>Pioneer introduces a new BPD-150 3D Blu-ray player, which according to the company is tailored to smartphone users and &#8220;deliver highest quality reproduction of their smartphone content&#8221;. Both models are equipped with a 4x optical zoom LUMIX DC VARIO lens with 28mm wide angle, and offers 8x intelligent zoom. The two cameras are almost identical except for the sensor. The former packs a 16.1 Megapixel CCD sensor and the S2 has a 14 Megapixel imagers. <p>Asus adds to its O!Play line the new O!Play Media Pro, a smart set-top box that combines a <a title="HD Media Player" href="http://www.itechnews.net/tag/hd-media-player">HD media player </a>with DVB-T digital TV tuner. As a media player for your HDTV, the device supports over 50 media format. With Gigabit Ethernet LAN and WiFi 802.11b connectivity, it also offers access to internet content and radio such as YouTube Acetrax, DailyMotion, Picasa, as well as Facebook. Of course, you can also stream media content from computers connected to the same home network. The O!MediaShare also lets you stream content from tablets and smartphones wirelessly.</p>
<p>The O!Play Media Pro comes with integrated DVB-T digital TV tuner, turning any TV into a digital set. It supports Electronic Program Guide (EPG) that allows for scheduling of content up to seven days in advance.</p>

<p>Asus announced its next generation <a title="Asus ROG" href="http://www.itechnews.net/tag/Asus-ROG">Republic of Gamers (ROG)</a> gaming notebooks, the ROG G75VW and G55VW powered by Intel&#8217;s latest Ivy Bridge 3rd generation Core i7 processor. The machines also sport up to 16GB of DDR3 RAM and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M/670M graphics card with up to 3GB of GDDR5 video memory. Both notebooks include intelligent dual thermal system with rear-venting design to keep heat away. The G75VW gets dedicated fans for CPU and GPU and a detachable fan filters, while the G55VW has a pair of fans.<br />

<p>The G75VW and G55VW are 3D-capable. The former comes with a 17.3-inch Full HD LED-backlit display with support for NVIDIA 3D Vision 2, including 3D Active Shutter and 3D LightBoost technology, and the G55VW comes a 15.6-inch screen and support for NVIDIA 3D Vision with 3D Active Shutter technology. SonicMaster Lite is also included to deliver powerful audio with built-in subwoofer. For storage, the G75VW can be equipped with up to dual SATA 2.5-inch 1TB hard drive in RAID 0/1, and the G55VW gets up to 1TB hard drive. There are also DVD SuperMulti burner (optional Blu-ray drive), and a 3-in-1 card reader.</p>
<p>Other features include WiFi 802.11b/g/n, optional Bluetooth 4.0, HD webcam, four USB 3.0 outputs, mini DisplayPort, HDMI and VGA outputs.
