How're you all doing today, I hope things are going well for you all? I'm just in my bubble, fending off my cold and looking for work – there still seems to be little going and I know there are talks that a lot of the high street shops are struggling. Until then I continue to paint and keep my spirits up!

Also these pictures are still with the old camera, I've been having fun with the new one, getting to learn it and I've changed my dark background.. In terms of picture quality improving I'm really not sure but they certainly don't seem to be worse which is good!

Today's nail art features a nail polish I was given by my mum and Christmas. If I am entirely honest I had no nail ideas for this shade but I wanted to use it so badly that I ended up creating something rather weird. I can't say I am 100% happy with this manicure but painting is always fun.

Guys, just a warning.. There's a lot of change going on, I'll still be posting for now but my posts will be incredibly short and I wont be posting to all my socials from now, I will probably still post to Facebook and Instagram at the least.

Did you know that yesterday was 'ice cream soda day'? Apparently so! I on the other hand though.. seemed to paint ice cream sundae's rather than soda's!

Freehand Firefly Jar Nail Art

How're you all doing? I hope you had an amazing weekend, did you get up to any mischief? Luckily I had Saturday off but I was back in on Sunday and I'm working straight through until Friday now.

Luckily they are not long shifts so I have been using the most with my morning time by throwing myself back into fitness which has felt quite rewarding (and sore) Its quite nice to get a few miles done before I have to go to work. Besides the increase of shifts there's not much else going on, I am sort of plodding along and looking forward to when I will have a little more time for painting if I am honest!

I didn't really know what I was painting before I began this design, all I knew was that I wanted something magical looking.. I'm not sure I achieved it.

For this design I began with OPI's Nail Envy base coat and allowed a minute or two to dry. I then used two coats of ORLY's 'Good Karma' for a nice strong blue background. On top of this I added a thin coat of Polish Me, Royalty's 'Unicornicopia' for a beautiful scattered holographic sprinkling.

I then moved on with my acrylics using metallic blues, purples and teal to create a floaty/smokey/water colour effect. I created all my small details with my beloved Pure Color brush in size 10. Finally I sealed in the design with two coats of Pro-FX top coat and eventually added my Barry M matte top coat.

Freehand Puppy Nail Art Design

How are you all doing today? I hope this week has been an awesome one for you!

I am working, working, working. My co-worker is currently on holiday so I am doing Monday's straight through, Saturday off work and back in on Sunday's. Good thing I love my job!

I don't expect I will get to paint for the next two or three weeks – if I can, amazing. If not.. well I already assume that so I wont get stressed out.

Today's nail art is one I wasn't sure about posting, there are some things in this manicure I couldn't stop seeing (minor mistakes that bugged me to no end) but I decided I will share it because on after thought it reminded me of something. PUPPIES IN MY POCKET!! Does anyone remember those tiny little plastic dogs? There was so so many to collection.

Puppies in my pocket, as cute as can be, I wanna take them all home with me! Haha.

Another thing that made me unsure about this design was my base colour. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the colour but I can't make sense of why I paired it with this design. I think maybe a hot pink would have suited it better, or blues.

For this design I used my trust OPI Nail Envy base coat and allowed to dry – approximately two minutes later I applied two coats of 'Vitamin Burst' from Orly's 'Breathable' collection.

I added a thin coat of my Pro-FX top coat (why am I still using this!? Its seen better days!) I then moved in with my acrylic paints to paint the pups and painted a wooden fence to the tips of my nails to go give them something to be peering over. I finished it all off with another two coats of top coat and finally, Barry M's matte top coat for smoothness.

Cringey. EVERYTHING is sold seperately, just FYI.

I'm not sure why my Dalmatians face looks like a boot/potato. The more I messed around with him the more he annoyed me, ha.

Marble and Red Roses Nail Art

I hope you are all having an awesome start to your week. Have you been up to anything exciting?

On Thursday my store hosted a beauty gala event which was so much fun, We had loads of people come in with their tickets and enjoy make overs, refreshments, discounts across cosmetics and fragrance. It was so much fun to be apart of.

Did you know that June 12^th is red rose day? I love discovering all these little quirky days of the year! June 12^th just so happens to be my mothers birthday too so putting the two together seemed like an awesome idea and little tribute.

I absolutely adore my mother, I know everyone says that but without her I wouldn't be here (and not just because she gave me life!) She's supported me through the years in every way possible, through my teenage years when I suffered deep depression and self harm, she never lots her patience with me. She's encouraged me and nurtured my creative side and is one of the kindest people I know. She'll always go out of her way for people and has a wonderful heart. Thank you Skeebab.

Do you want to know a secret? I hate painting flowers! I actually hate the whole process. Its so hard! I find I have to really focus and work hard at them. I don't think they turned out too bad although towards the end each rose was just looking like a blob to me!

For this design I began with my usual base coat, OPI Nail Envy and once dried I applied two thin coats of ORLY's 'White Tips'. Once my beautiful white was dry I moved in with a lick of Barry M's 'Plumpy' top coat and started with my acrylics. I had never done a marble effect in this style before but I used black and white acrylic paints to mix some different shades of grey which I dabbed on randomly. I mixed a darker grey to create the veining affect through the marble and topped off with traces of gold. To give the entire look a more pearly finish I used watered down white metallic paint to add as a 'wash' – giving it a subtle and shimmery effect.

3D Snails & Rainbow Nail Art

How're you all doing today? I hope the week is going well for you! Who's ready for the weekend? I see a wave of hands.

Today our store is a doing a really awesome VIP beauty gala event, I'll be working but I think its going to be such a fun experience. There's going to be make overs, live tutorials, discounts, a selfie station.. all sorts! My outfit is going to be 80% pink (as suggested) I've got a cute little jewelled hair band, pink trousers, shoes and a pink top and a long flowy silver cardigan. I think I am going to feel like a gradient princess!

Oh..wait! You were here for snail art, right? Snail Art... Oh Ithi. This ones a bit extreme, I tried something different that didn't pay off but you know what? Sometimes that's OK. I learnt stuff.

Wouldn't it be cool if snails where so whizzy they left behind a trail of rainbow rather than... Well.. their sticky slimy stuff.. Not to judge, you know.. a snail is entitled to leave a trail of whatever he or she wishes but if I was a snail I'd make sure it was either rainbow-like in colours or glittery.

So I feel really disappointed with this design (and also I am really happy so I don't care that much) I think its because the creation of these snails were just so much fun that they deserved a really awesome design to go with them. Perhaps I should have sat them upright as if they were actually going across my nails.. I also can't figure out why I picked the base I did, I should have picked something that would really contrast against them.

Argh. If anyone can find one nice thing to say about this design then go ahead, share with the class, haha.

Freehand Sunset Beach Camping Nail Art

How're you all doing today? Did you have an awesome weekend? I hope you got up to something fun, or even just spent time recharging your batteries.

I had the day off on Saturday and I had a really relaxing day. I had intended to paint in the morning but I just wasn't feeling it so instead I used the time to have a good tidy up, do some reading, do some 'homework' for work and sort out my blog posts. In the afternoon I went with my sister, mum and niece and nephew to help my sister get some plants for her garden. Overall it was just a really lovely chilled out day.

I'm working every Sunday now but I actually rather like it. I can be surprisingly busy but when its not it feels quite calm and I crack on with some dusting or organising. I've started packing my tablet and notebook so that if I miss the bus and need to wait an hour for the next one I can go grab a coffee somewhere and do some blog scheduling, brain storming and general organisation.

I've another landscape for you today, my favourite type of painting. I feel like its becoming harder and harder to come up with landscape ideas, I can't possibly have done everything, can I?

Anyway, get ready for super chill vibes - Also did you know the June is camping month?

I don't know who's been staying in this tent but it seems like a lovely idea! I've never had a fire on the beach or really camped but it must be so relaxing (as longs as your tent is not too close to the water, haha) Do you go camping? Where's the nicest place you've pitched up?

For this design I began with my trust OPI Nail Envy base coat and once dry I applied a thin coat of ORLY's 'White tips' for my perfect white blank canvas. I then moved in with a chunky brush using different shades, blending them together to create my sunset. For all the finer details I used my beloved Pure Color brush in size 10. Once I had finished creating my art I sealed it all in with two layers of top coat and eventually added Barry M's matte topcoat on top.

3D Peach & Cream Nail Art - Say Something Nice Day

How are you all doing today? I hope you had a wonderful week so far. I can't say anything too interesting has happen to me so far but its been pleasant none the less.

Today's post is all about positivity. Can you ever have enough of it in our lives? Don't you think its incredible how your actions create reactions that in influence someone's day or even their mood which in turn creates new reactions in the people they come across... A little bit of kindness goes a long way as it travels down an ever winding chain.

Anyway. Did you know that June 1^st is actually 'Say something nice day'? True fact. Go and say something nice, put a smile one someone's face. Say something nice to yourself even.

My say something nice to you is.. There's only one you and you are wonderful just the way you are. The fact there is only one of you is incredible, keep rocking being you, keep loving yourself and remember not to be too hard on yourself sometimes.

I actually attempted this design twice, I just wasn't happy with my very rushed first version. I used fimo clay to create the 3D leaf which I then painted with acrylic paints. I'm still not 100% sure I like the version I went with (first) but I enjoyed the process all the same.

For this design I began with my usual base coat of OPI's Nail Envy and once dry I applied two coats of Barry M's 'Kiwi' from the gelly range. I again allowed time for this to dry and added a thin coat of top coat to act as a nice base for my acrylics to stick to. I then moved in with my acrylic paints and trust Pure Color brush in size #10. Once I had finished I sealed all the details in with two more layers of top coat and whilst the last was still tacky I carefully placed my curling leaf into posistion.

What do you guys think of this design? Cute or simply just a miss?

Freehand Star Constellations Nail Art

How are you all doing today? I hope you've had a wonderful and relaxing weekend – or even a long weekend if you are in the UK. I've been working quite a lot this past week (looking forward to a day off tomorrow!) which has been really nice. I have to say I am so happy with the girls I work with, they really are such a lovely bunch. I enjoy my job but when everyone in your work place is so kind and wonderful it makes a job even better, I think!

On Saturday I managed to raise over £40 for breast cancer in the space of an hour and a half to two hours which isn't bad when your standing by the store entrance. Some people do look like you've just asked them for rabies so I was pleased with the result and wish I could have done it for longer.

Today's nail art was a little trial and error, you know how I love painting skies, be it daytime or night time but I wanted to try something a little different with my background. I think it turned out pretty interesting!

For this design I began with my trusty OPI Nail Envy base coat and once dried I applied two coats of ORLY's Breathable nail polish in 'Good Karma'. Since the Breathable nail polish formlar is so amazing and dries incredibly fast I was ready to paint in no time. For the background I used a whole mixture of metallic acrylic paints, I painted them on in lines, sort of.

I then used my beloved Pure Color brush in size 10 for all the smaller and finer details. To seal the design in I used two coats of Pro-FX top coat and eventually added Barry M's matte top coat for a beautiful and smooth effect.

I kinda like how this design turned out. It's different. Different isn't always bad. I kinda wish I had made the constellations into some kind of shape though, maybe a heart or something might have been cute.

Rescue A horse day - Freehand Horse Nail Art Design

How are you all doing this week? I hope everything is going your way so far.

I'm so excited for tomorrow night, I'm going to a Kaiser Chief and Blur tribute evening with my sister. I don't really go out much like this so its going to be fun! The only downer is that its cushioned by an early start at work on Saturday so I think it will be straight to bed, get up and run to catch the bus on Saturday morning. I can do it, I got this! Perhaps consider me out for the count on Sunday though!

Today's nail art is inspired by another one of those random 'days' in the year, which has already passed us (opps) the 16^th of May is 'Rescue a horse day' so I wanted to create a very free and relaxed looking horse enjoying his enviorment.

I quite like this design, this horse looks quite content looking at the rolling hills in his flowery filled valley. It reminds me of something, maybe a Disney film with a horse... is it called Spirit or something? My only qualms with this design was that I painted him on the fingers I did as it was very hard to photograph him connecting properly, usually I would have done it on my middle and ring finger. Oh well, not gonna dwell!

For this design I began with OPI's Nail Envy base coat and allowed a couple minutes for it to dry. Next I applied a super thin coat of ORLY's 'White Tips' for a nice blank canvas. I took a mixture of acrylic paints and my beloved Pure Color brush in size 10 to create all the details. I sealed the entire design in with my Pro-FX top coat and eventually added Barry M's matte top coat over the top for a smooth finish,

Freehand Seahorse Nail Art

How are you all doing today? I hope you had a fantastic weekend filled with sunshine. I sure enjoyed mine, I was due a little work break. I enjoyed taking my niece and nephew to the park, frolicking in the sun. I finally had some time to sit down and paint – I think painting is one of those things that relaxes me so it felt good to have a little time out from everything else.

Did you watch the royal wedding?! Oh my god.. I am such a sucker. As soon as Meghan was out of the car I welled up at the sight of her dress. I don't think I'll ever get married myself and that's fine but I still love to see the dresses and the loving looks the bride and groom exchange. What a softie, huh?

Anyway, lets move on to some nail art, I could chatter about all sorts all day long otherwise!

Today's nail art is inspired by the current theme over at Tiny Canvas which is seahorses, you may remember this design I did a while ago.. I wanted to do something better.

I can't participate in all the challenges any more due to work – and the fact that the themes are now voted by the members which means I don't know what theme it will be in advance. You guys know how organised I am and how I like to plan my posts. Having a theme and having to do it in three days if I am working is just too much pressure. Still. I got this one done!

I feel like there is very little to say about this design.. I just painted. I know that's so unhelpful.

I began with OPI's 'Nail Envy' base coat, I am literally recommending this to anyone who wants stronger and longer nails. Next I painted one thin coat of ORLY's 'White Tips' and once dry applied a thin layer of Pro-FX top coat.

With my sexy blank canvas prepared I then moved in with my pure colour brush in size 10 and a multitude of acrylic paints. Once finished with the design I then sealed it in with a futher two coats of top coat and eventually added Barry M's matte top coat on after.

3d Bumble Bee Nail Art

How are you all doing today? I hope you are having an awesome week so far.

Two more days left at work and then a nice two day weekend. I got pulled into work last Sunday, I received a phone call from my manager about 9.30am. I was already up.. but I ummed and ahhed.. I figured that they must be really short staffed to call me in so I went into work.

But this weekend I am looking forward to two whole days of family time, painting and of course the royal wedding is this weekend. I DO want to see what Meghan's dress is like, is anyone else curious?!

Today's nail art is...er. Hit and miss and very experimental. I'm not sure how I feel about it.

The reason I am not sure about this design is because.. no faces. I tried to paint some cute little faces onto the bee's but it just wasn't happening. I think that throws the whole design. I am pleased with the thumb bee because I am happy with how his wings turned out. I'll explain how I made them in a second.

So for this design I began with an entirely clean, blank canvas. I used OPI's Nail Envy base coat and once dry applied two coats of ORLY's 'White Tips'. I allowed a little time for this to try (hardly though, the Breathable formula dries so fast!) Once everything was dry I moved in with my acrylic paints, creating a blue to light blue acrylic-gradient to make my sky. I used my Pure Color brush in a size 10 for all the details.

The bee's are made from polymer clay, I made them into little pill shapes and baked them in the oven for 20 minutes. Once cooled I painted them with stripes and allowed the paint to dry. In the mean time I created the wings by smearing a small amount of gel to a plastic polly pocket (the plastic things you put paper in) and cured it under my UV lamp. I then added a mixture of Barry M's 'Diamond Glitter' and Polish Me, Royalty's 'Unicornicopia' to give the wings some glitter.

I added one more layer of gel and cured for a final time.

To add the bee's onto my nails I used a fairly old, very tacky top coat. Using a dotting tool I applied a blob of top coat where I would be placing my bees.

3D nail designs are so much fun, there's a lot of preparation and planning that goes into them before you start painting. Sometimes they rock, sometimes they suck. I would say this design is somewhere in between as I don't like it as much as my sushi nail art I posted recently.
