the television in my room turned on by itself this morning
(Japan 7.30am, Singapore 6.30am)
scared the hell out of me.

i jumped.
as in literally,
my soul almost jumped out of my body.

i guess i was startled by the extreme loud volume of the channel.

I reached for the remote and switched it off immediately.
With apprehension, I froze for a moment.
And then, I think I did the most logical thing.
I switched on the television again.

This time, is to lower the volume to its minimum.
Just in case it turn on again by itself,
it wouldn't caught me abruptly this time.

Today is make up of a late lunch
by myself in a restaurant called
Saizeriya in Japan.

I had my all time favourite Doria - Rice Gratin,
topped with an egg and an accompanying side dish
of chicken wings!

After lunch, I decided to shop around abit.
I went to Daiso, and bought those elastic
bands to tie my hair.

Next stop, it's a 'must-never-miss' trip to the supermarket.
I had a bottle of Vitamin C.C Lemon drink for boyfriend.
He's really tied up at work recently,
and so being the 'ahem' very caring girlfriend,
I bought this for him.

Lastly, it's a trip to Matsumoto Kiyoshi,
the most famous drugstore in Japan.

I helped my friend to buy this;
She said the mascara from Visee which is
under the Kose Group is really good.

So I guess.........
I MUST try it too, right! =)

21 - 23 March 2011 / FUKUOKA

RAMEN OVERDOSED!!!

Haha, but still, Ramen is my absolute love. =)

I went out and explored Fukuoka by myself.

Japanese friend told me to try Shin Shin Ramen

and told me they are famous there.

Noodle is handmade and the broth is super delicious.

Out of so many ramen that I have eaten, personally,

my NO.1 TOP FAVOURITE is still Ichiran Ramen.

I super duper LOVE Ichiran Ramen.

They have a few outlets in Tokyo

and I have never failed to visit the restaurant

whenever I'm round the corner.

I have even brought my whole family there before

to share my love for this ramen with them.

You purchase a food ticket from the machine as per picture below

and they have this unique system where u fill in an order sheet

to let them know exactly how you want your ramen.

Someday, I hope to bring my boyfriend to this place too!

Two weeks ago when I was there,

Only 1 box of bento left on the shelf.

Only 1 bread left.

The hotel that I am staying is dimly lighted too.
There is a power ration,
certain blocks of time daily,

Call me Ramen. My name is Ramen.

I had 2 ramens today and I guess I got pretty sick of it.

Within this period of 6 days, I think I took the most airplanes in my life.
9 flights within 6 days.
Crazy right.

Alright, I gotta pack my stuff. My hotel room is in a big mess.

At least, I am glad I'm going back to Singapore tomorrow.

These 6 days away from home seems like 6 months.

My mum just told me she bought 'lala' (English ---> clams)
and she is going to cook it for lunch tomorrow with
fermented black beans and chilli padi.

We (my sister and brother) all love to eat lala since we were kids!

The other day, we went to Johor Bahru for Japanese food.

He read somewhere that they sell great stuff.

So off we went. In search of that place.

Driving around for 1 hour. We finally found the place.

I spent the whole of 4 hours reading.

There's this stack of magazines piling up on my table
since November and the constant silent nagging
at the back of my mind to complete it.

Next on my target, it's a novel by Mary Higgins Clark.
She is my most favourite author
and I am a crazy great fan of hers since my teens.
I have read almost all her books under her belt of collection and
I have always applaud in awe of her extraordinary ability
to be able to paint the characters to life.
All her novels have never failed to keep me in suspense
till the very last moment to reveal the villain.

People who know me closely will know
that how I used to read her book secretly in class
even when teachers were conducting their lessons.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2011!

I could hear the wind howling fiercely outside.
Somewhat I'm glad that I am safe and warm in my room,
snuggling in my bed.

Woke up since 10 o'clock in the morning,
have not been doing much,
read a few chapters of a book that
I recently borrowed from the library,
washed my clothes with my bare hands,
and of course with detergent, silly!
(Yes, I packed washing powder into my luggage. =) )
Boiled some water to drink,
and staring at the ceiling, if that counts too.
Called my Tigerboy, talked a bit.
And then, we hang the phone.

Boyfriend bought me skype credits.
For me to conduct random 'spot check' on him. (he said)
=)
He told me that he likes me to call him every now and then!
(okay, I admit I'm the one who adds in 'every now and then', haha!
but he really did tell me that he likes me to call him, okkkkiiieeeee!)
He will top up US$10 for me every time the credit runs low.
And so, I will call him as and when I feel bored.
He will also give me a miss call,
that is to tell me to return a call to him,
numerous times in the day,
and then I will call him.

=)

At times, even though our conversations may be brief,
but deep inside, we secretly knows it means alot.
A simple 'hello' means I love you.
A simple 'have you eaten' means we care for each other.
A simple 'goodbye' means we miss each other
and it feels good to have your voice heard.

=)

Is it the cold and harsh weather outside that is stopping me
or is it just the plain laziness in me.

I know I have to go. Sooner or later, I guess.
I have been tasked to buy some stuff for a friend. =)

And I need to fill my growling stomach too.
Have not been eating much recently.
I had very bad headaches for the past few days.
And I have been losing my appetite over it.

and all my procrastination.

Furrowing his brow, flipping through the pages of the magazine he has in hand,
he appears to be deep in thoughts.

I guess he finally made his decision when he raised his hand and signalled for my attention.

In earnest, he pointed to it and said he will have that.

He has chosen a very beautiful ABISTE necklace for her.

Knowing that it is for someone special in his heart, after proceeding with the sale,
I offered to do a gift wrap for him.

He broke into a smile immediately and thank me sincerely for it.

Even though, the gift is not for me, I thought I felt a warm glow in my heart.

Nothing beats having someone in his/her heart all the time and thinking of him/her even when he/she is not around.

Every few months, I will go for some stock up,
buying 2 to 4 bottles of the same product,
be it shampoo, moisturiser or sunblock etc.

I clocked 4.2 click in 35 minutes.
Well, it wasn't exactly a big feat,
the point is, at least, I excercise to be healthy.

Do you excercise?
Well, if you answer no,
it's time to put on your running shoes, my dear folks.
It doesn't have to be some vigorous workout that you have to do
till it left you breathless and your heart almost pop out.

Simple way like brisk walking is also a good form of excercising.
Excercising help us to keep fit and believe it or not,
de-stress too.

It's home sweet home for me and we went to watch Karate Kid last night.

A heartwarming movie and Jayden Smith is really a good actor despite his tender age.

I must have been very tired, because I woke up at noon today and went back to sleep immediately right after lunch and then woke up moments ago.

I guess, the jet lag has taken toil on my body and I could feel myself falling sick soon.

There's an important test coming this weekend and although I do not have much confidence to pass it,
but I will still like give my very best shot and do my very best for it.

Actually there's really alot of things on my mind, and I wish I could get it off my chest.
Suddenly it seems alot impossible to get on the flight for my holiday trip from Narita to San Francisco.
I thought of the disappointment my parents will face, and somehow or rather, I feel sad and blame myself for the disappointment that I will bring them.

Truth is that I really did alot of homework, but sometimes alot things are just beyond my control.
I checked the internet. It says 9 empty seats to my economy class booking. And there are still 20 more days to my trip. At this present moment, it seems gray and I'm getting more and more pessimistic about it, but nevertheless, I tell myself not to give up. Maybe, maybe..... there will be a flight delay and some people couldn't make it in time to catch their connecting flight, and then my chance will come!

Alright, I shall go and have my dinner and then get down to some serious studying.

I spent my day ironing my clothes, packing my luggage, researching on hotels, and the domestic air tickets to Las Vegas.

Yes, I'm going there in July.

Although it's not my first time there, but it's my parents' virgin trip to the United States.
My dad once told me he would love to visit Las Vegas,
for he has heard all the beautiful stories I have painted for him.

I am planning a two weeks trip, stopping over at San Francisco and Japan.
Sounds fun, but I tell you. The planning process for me is stressful.
Three days ago, I was jolted up from my barely 3 hours of beauty sleep with guilt tearing me apart for the fact that I have been procrastinating on the planning of the trip.

Till now, I have yet to book any hotels and the domestic sector from San Francisco to Las Vegas.
I'm pretty much in a dilemma for I do not know which hotel to book even though after spending countless of hours surfing the net. At least I am glad to comfort myself that I have narrowed down my search to 3 hotels in mind, but hell ya, there are still so many other things to take care of.

The next thing on my mind is that I'm afraid.
Very very afraid that I wouldn't be able to get on the sector from Japan to San Francisco because my ticket is not a confirmed ticket. And then my life will be doomed. (ok, at least it's not this serious)

I would have wasted alot of money. My domestic air tickets to Las Vegas and all the money that I have paid for my Las Vegas hotel booking would have gone down the drain. And mind you, that will be about US 1,000 bucks.

Sad right?!?!

I shall pray very hard that I am able to get on the flight.
