In honor of Memorial Day, I've decided to watch one of my favorites, The Christmas Card. This year marks the 20th Anniversary of this beloved Hallmark classic!

I’ve always appreciated how this patriotic film honors the courage and sacrifice of those who have served our country, especially the heroes who gave the ultimate sacrifice. And I just love the way the Spelman family works closely together in their family-owned lumber business. It truly is a wonderful film filled with comforting small-town charm, a lovely little country church, and a sweet romance that will always hold a special place in my heart!

Sugarcreek Amish Mysteries - My Review of the Birthday Episode...

Just wanted to share a quick review of the newest episode of Sugarcreek Amish Mysteries, airing tonight on UPtv at 9pm/8c.

Episode 5 is titled "Simply Vanished." In this episode, a hidden chute at the gift shop leads Cheryl to a decades-old disappearance — and a birthday she’ll never forget.

The mystery itself is quite intriguing, involving the discovery of lost items connected to events from around 40 years ago. But honestly, what I loved most about this episode was finally getting to meet Cheryl Cooper’s family, her parents and brother, as they come to Sugarcreek to celebrate her birthday.

As Cheryl’s birthday dinner unfolds at the Miller family home, the Cooper family, who are Christian, share a deeply meaningful discussion of faith with the Miller family, who are Amish. There’s even a beautiful conversation centered around accepting Christ as one’s Savior that I found especially touching and inspiring. The family scenes throughout this episode are truly warm and memorable.

If you’ve been enjoying this series, this is definitely one episode you won’t want to miss!

And Cheryl’s birthday gift from the Millers is incredibly sweet and thoughtful. It’s becoming more and more clear that Cheryl and Levi share a very special bond and those around them are beginning to notice it more and more, too.

My Quick Take:

I hope you all will enjoy the new season of "Blue Ridge."

From high-stakes investigations to pulse-pounding action and heartfelt family moments, it looks like season 2 will continue to deliver excitement at every turn!

Note of caution: Due to intense crime-fighting drama and violence, this show (in my opinion) is not for young viewers.

The Hallmark Channel is serving up an all-new helping of suspense with Best Served Cold: A Hannah Swensen Mystery, where Hannah is once again mixing together her baked desserts and small-town sleuthing!

Meanwhile, over on Great American Family, the medical drama County Rescue returns with its Season Three premiere. Filled with faith, courage, and heartfelt moments, the series continues to follow dedicated first responders as they face personal challenges and their calling to serve others.

🚨Note: I watched the first episode of County Rescue early on Great American Pure Flix, and just wanted to share that due to the intensity of some medical issues and life-saving emergencies, County Rescue is (in my opinion) best suited for mature preteen age and up. This premiere episode is 1 hour and 30 minutes long (with commercials). It's intense and emotional, but also inspiring to see how these close friends, even when times are tough, care for and lean on each other.

To Be Or Not To Be... New Hallmark Movie Filming with Shakespeare Theme

Well, look what’s rolled into London, Ontario! Local buzz is growing as a new article from the London Free Press reports that a Hallmark Channel production crew has officially arrived in town for their latest movie shoot.

According to the article, the film currently in production for Hallmark is titled Nothing But Love.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Ashley Williams would star in a project with that very title.

IMDb states that the story is an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing and will feature Ashley Williams alongside Paul Braunstein, Lindura, Jennifer Dale, and more.

I'm not yet certain when this movie will air on the schedule. Could Nothing But Love be part of Hallmark Channel’s lineup later this Summer or Fall? We’ll have to wait and see.

If you'd like to watch something special with your family on Mother's Day, the "When Hope Calls: Brookfield" finale episode airs this Sunday night on Great American Family! After a season filled with tender moments, quiet longing, and a few unexpected surprises, all eyes are on Brookfield as some of our favorite stories reach what could be life-changing turning points. Will Mountie Michael and Nora finally find the courage to speak the feelings that have been building between them, or will Michael’s duty as a Mountie pull him away from Brookfield just when love seems within reach? And for Hannah and Wyatt or Sam and Maggie, what lies ahead for them... romance, heartache, or perhaps a little drama before the credits roll? "Sugarcreek Amish Mysteries" - My Review of Episode 3 - airing on UPtv

Hey, friends... I had the opportunity to watch an early screener of the third episode of "Sugarcreek Amish Mysteries" titled "O Little Town of Sugarcreek," and I just had to share that this episode was my favorite one yet!

No spoilers, I promise, but here are a few (or more!) of my favorite details...

⚫ First, these mysteries (so far) are simple mysteries within the town of Sugarcreek that do not involve murder. This episode is about missing jewelry.

⚫ While we've seen Cheryl Cooper's adorable cat, Beau, before, he makes more of an appearance in this episode.

⚫ This series is definitely giving me vibes of the Hallmark series, Mistletoe Murders - the lead women in both series have red hair, and they both own a small store within a quaint town that sells small gifts, knick-knacks, home decor, etc. Both women have cats and employ a teenage girl related to their supposed love interest, and their love interests often help to solve mysteries.

⚫ In this episode of "Sugarcreek Amish Mysteries," there's a bit of a romantic love triangle when Cheryl's ex, Lance, makes a surprise visit!

⚫ And best of all, for this episode, which you might be able to tell from the title, "O Little Town of Sugarcreek," is centered around the Christmas season! It's interesting to see how this quaint Amish town celebrates the holiday; it's even mentioned that their main focus is to celebrate the birth of their Lord!

ABOUT HOPE VALLEY: 1874

The series explores the earliest days of the frontier settlement that later became Hope Valley, chronicling the courage, resilience and relationships that laid the foundation for the close-knit town viewers have come to love. Lenz portrays Rebecca Clarke, a recent widow who travels with her 11-year-old daughter Sarah (Morgan) to the Western Canadian frontier to escape a threat back home and make a fresh start following her husband’s death. When she discovers the boarding house she purchased sight unseen needed extensive renovations, Rebecca faced a tougher road ahead than she had imagined. Thanks to the fledgling community that embraces them – including local rancher and confirmed bachelor Tom Moore (Ayres), with whom she becomes close, and Hattie Quinn (Hennessy), a widow herself who runs the trading post with the help of her daughter Olivia (Curtis) – Rebecca and Sarah become an intrinsic part of the settlement and they begin to find their way. Helping keep the peace between the ranchers and gold prospectors who are at odds with each other is Constable Alexander Vaughn (Quarmby), who becomes smitten with Olivia, much to the dismay of local blacksmith Clayton Cooley (Goodacre), who has long harbored feelings for her. Last week, the America Reads the Bible event unfolded in a truly beautiful way in Washington, D.C., as nearly 500 voices came together at the Museum of the Bible to read God’s Holy Word aloud.

It was a powerful and uplifting week, bringing together people from all walks of life... pastors and ministry leaders, current and former politicians, actors and actresses, Christian musicians and worship leaders, and so many others, all united in sharing the truth and light of Scripture.

It was especially meaningful to see familiar faces from Great American Family, the Hallmark Channel, and other networks take part, using their voices to honor the Lord. I so enjoyed every moment I was able to watch, along with my family, but of course we were in and out during the week - with work, errands, etc... so it's been nice to go back and catch any of the ones we missed.

I'm so thrilled to see these three will be working together. I can just imagine already how wonderful they will be! And you might have caught in the video above that Mario mentions the movie might include a little song and dance - so I'm hoping we'll see a little tap dancing with all three of them!

Christmas Mystery Revealed -- See Who Is Jesse Hutch's 2026 Christmas Movie Co-star...

An Exciting Christmas Movie Reveal is Here!!!

In a previous post, I mentioned that actor Jesse Hutch filmed a Christmas movie earlier this year. At the time, the film had the working title In Starlight Point: A Christmas Card Mystery; however, it now has a new title: Our Starlight Christmas.

And even better news... we now know who Jesse Hutch's co-star is!

But first, before I reveal who this mystery woman is, let's take a quick look at the movie's plot...

"When a once-beloved Christmas novelist returns home to Starlight Point to save her career, she's pulled back into the traditions she shared with her late father - including writing the town pageant. When I first shared this Christmas movie, we only had a few pictures from the set provided by The Hamilton Spectator, which only shared the back of Jesse Hutch's female co-star. Many of us tried to guess at the time who this mystery woman might be, and I'm so delighted that my initial guess was right!

Jesse's co-star in Our Starlight Christmas is... Ashley Newbrough (Operation Nutcracker, Flipping for Christmas). Was your guess right, too?

Jesse Hutch is very much involved with Great American Family these days, having recently starred in the 2025 Christmas movie Have We Met This Christmas? and, even more recently, in both the 2026 TV series Crossroad Springs and When Hope Calls: Brookfield.

According to the production notes, Our Starlight Christmas is supposed to be a Great American Family Christmas film, but please know the network has NOT confirmed this yet. Stay tuned for any developments there.

Our Starlight Christmas will not be Ashley and Jesse's first Christmas movie together. The two also starred in the cute Christmas comedy, Snowmance, which premiered on ION in 2017. It's a fun fantasy-type story in which Jesse Hutch portrays a snowman who comes to life!

Ashley Newbrough has also starred in a number of Christmas and romantic comedy movies over the years for the Hallmark Channel and Lifetime, including Unwrapping Christmas: Lily's Destiny, Heart's Around the Table: Jenna's First Love, Christmas Love Letter, and more! If this ends up being a film for Great American Family, this will be her first film for the network.

Our Starlight Christmas is a Vortex Media production. This company also has other Christmas movies coming this holiday season, including:

In addition to it being just 8 months until Christmas Day, we’re now around 6 months away from the start of the Christmas movie season!

Saturday, April 25th, is that special time again… to “Mark the 25th” day of the month with a cozy Christmas movie! If you're planning to join in, I'd love to know which movie you are choosing. It can be a new movie, a classic movie, something you love, or something you've never seen. Please share your Christmas movie pick in comments below. (And the Christmas movies airing Friday night can count, too!)

I decided my “Mark the 25th” choice will be the classic Hallmark Channel movie, A Boyfriend for Christmas, starring Kelli Williams and Patrick Muldoon. I chose this movie in honor of the recent, sudden passing of Patrick Muldoon, which is still so hard to believe, and because this movie has always held a special place in my heart.

A Boyfriend for Christmas premiered in 2004, when there were only about 3 or 4 new Christmas premieres on the Hallmark Channel during the holiday season, so each movie was truly special. It felt like everyone who loves Christmas was marking their calendar, too, and watching with you. Streaming wasn't available then, so ratings were much higher. And this movie did not disappoint - it was funny, festive, family-friendly, and yes, there's a fake-boyfriend, Douglas Firwood, who Patrick Muldoon portrays perfectly! I've probably seen this movie hundreds of times since, and it never disappoints - it always puts a smile on my face!

I have many favorite lines from the movie, but here are two I especially love:

Ryan Hughes (AKA Douglas Firwood): I may be difficult to exchange without a receipt.

Holly Grant: That's okay, I think I'll keep you!

The new episode of When Hope Calls: Brookfield is one you'll definitely want to *catch*! The new pastor teaches the children to play baseball, and Mountie Michael appears to be a little jealous of the new minister spending extra time with Nora.

Also, I sure hope we will all enjoy Tyler Hynes’ new movie, I'll Be Seeing You, premiering this weekend!

Hopefully, some of you have also had the chance to see the touching videos Tyler recently shared on Instagram. If not, I've included them below. It has been so heartwarming to see the genuine respect and admiration Tyler shows for the legendary Christine Ebersole, who portrays a grandmother in his new movie. They also previously worked together on Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story, and it was Tyler's wish for them to reunite on screen again!

What a wonderfully talented and accomplished actress Christine Ebersole is! Her acting credits (as seen on IMDb) date back to the 1970s, and she has appeared in countless films, television movies, and series over the years. And my goodness... what a spectacular singing voice she has, too! I’m so glad these two were able to work together again on this movie and, hopefully, many more!

Also, Hallmark hasn't officially announced, yet, but in case you haven't heard, earlier this month Tyler Hynes filmed a new Christmas movie for Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas 2026 with Laci J. Mailey (Chesapeake Shores, A Little Park Music) titled The Christmas Loop. In this new holiday movie, Tyler Hynes plays a character trapped in a Christmas Eve loop who falls for a woman. A new poster has been released for County Rescue Season 3 featuring familiar and new faces!

What a lovely mix of options we have this weekend- uplifting faith, intriguing mystery, a heartwarming romance with a touch of American history, and more! I hope something here adds a little joy to your weekend!

I'm really excited to watch America Reads the Bible! I hope many hearts are touched by this amazing event - and come to know Jesus, either for the first time, or in a deeper, more personal way.

I usually watch the When Hope Calls: Brookfield episodes early on Pure Flix, but I haven't had the chance to see this one yet. After all, it did just come out yesterday, but what am I waiting for? Right? LOL. I do hope to watch soon... I can't wait to see Mountie Jim's reaction to Justine, the stagecoach robbery, and how the children respond to a little trouble of their own.

Great American Family surprised their social media followers today with a fun video of Ryan Paevey (Christmas at the Plaza) with his co-star, Britt Robertson (I Still Believe) - stepping out of their trailers on the set of their new Christmas movie!

Christmas at Moose Lake has been filming in Kentucky (across Somerset and Pulaski County), but it's a complete surprise to viewers that this will be a Great American Family holiday movie!

Also in the cast are Natasha Henstridge (Christmas Song) and Kevin Dillon (Reagan).

NEW YORK, NY – April 14, 2026 – Great American Media announced an ensemble of family talent is set to star in the Great American Christmas Original movie, Silver Bells at Christmas which is currently in production. Leading the way is famed Broadway singer, Laura Osnes (A Little Women’s Christmas, A Dash of Christmas), Ryan McPartlin (“Chuck,” Amish Affair), American country music artist Chuck Wicks, Julia Reilly (County Rescue, Christmas of Giving), Tanya Christiansen (County Rescue, A Little Women’s Christmas) and D.B. Sweeney (The Cutting Edge, Reporting for Christmas). Silver Bells at Christmas will premiere as part of Great American Christmas 2026.

In the small town of Comfort, Ohio, Ginny Nolan (Osnes) is determined to save her late mother’s cherished Christmas shop, Silver Bells, before mounting repairs cause it to close. When her former music partner – and almost first love – Tyler Benton (Wicks) returns home to host a Christmas songwriting contest, old feelings resurface. With Tyler’s agent, Andi (Reilly) bearing down, Tyler must convince Ginny to help him write the next great holiday hit. Enter driven entrepreneur, Nick Day (McPartlin) who sets sights on buying the shop, forcing Ginny to choose between protecting the past she loves and embracing a future that could change her heart forever.

My Quick Take:

I must say... I'm extra excited for this Christmas movie, and I'm so thrilled we will hear Laura Osnes and Chuck Wicks sing in it! Everything about Silver Bells at Christmas sounds so lovely, including this extraordinary leading and supporting cast. This truly looks like one to look forward to this upcoming holiday season on Great American Family!
