Happy Christmas Movie Weekend, Friends!!!✨🎄

I'm ecstatic that this is our very first weekend of the holiday season with a NEW Christmas movie premiere and classics airing 24/7!

Great American Family jumps right into the Christmas movie season with a new movie, A Second Chance Christmas, starring Candace Cameron Bure and Jonathan Scarfe! Will these exes find love again while being stranded together in a snowstorm?

And Hallmark Channel's last Fall into Love movie premiere, The Spirit of Halloween, starring Meghan Ory and Kevin McGarry, has the legendary A Christmas Carol story woven into it. I'm not typically one to watch a Halloween movie, but since this film follows the familiar Ebenezer Scrooge Christmas story we all know so well, I'm willing to give it a try. I'm just hoping it doesn't get overly spooky or dark.

See all of the details for the NEW MOVIES and MORE below...

I hope you all have the most wonderful weekend as we soak up these first little joys of the Christmas movie season! 🎄✨

I’m especially excited for Candace’s brand-new Christmas premiere and, of course, curling up with some of my favorite holiday classics along the way. There’s just something so special about this time of year when the Christmas movies begin again!!!!

One little viewing note: Since The Spirit of Halloween follows the familiar A Christmas Carol storyline, there may be a few moments that could feel a little spooky or intense for younger viewers. We all know the standard Scrooge story... so the movie will have the Ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future, and I must say - nearly all of those older Scrooge movies when I was little always scared me with the creepy ghost of Christmas future - and even now, they still creep me out a little. (IYKYK!!!) I haven’t seen the new Hallmark movie yet, so I can’t say for certain how scary or dark it may be; however, if you’re watching with little ones, please use your own discretion or you may want to preview it first.

I'm currently watching the Great American Family Christmas movies as I finish writing this post this morning, and it's so beautiful to once again see so many movies I love, plus the commercials in between highlighting the Great American Family Christmas movies with the Christmas carols: Joy to the World and Hark! The Herald Angels Sing! What a blessing it is - to celebrate this upcoming Christmas season with you all and the True Joy of Christmas!

♫♫♫♫♫♫♫

"Joy to the world, the Lord is come

Let earth receive her King

Let every heart prepare Him room

And Heaven and nature sing

And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing"

♫♫♫♫♫♫♫

May every heart prepare Him room

- this Christmas season!❤️

Have a Blessed, Merry Weekend!

A Christmas Blessing

If you have the Great American Faith & Living channel, Christmas movies will also air there 24/7, beginning Thursday, October 8th. Along with the Great American Family Christmas movie classics, I also saw a few new acquired movies in the upcoming schedule, including A Cinderella Christmas (which originally aired on ION) and Love Always, Santa (which originally aired on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries). Both movies are fun, but I've always adored Love Always, Santa!

'Blue Skies' Season 1 Finale Tonight + Start Streaming Season 2 Today

2026-10-01T05:00:00.000-04:00

If you've been watching "Blue Skies" on UPtv, then you already know that Crystal Ridge National Park is full of beautiful scenery and intriguing mysteries!

Tonight, you won't want to miss the thrilling season 1 finale - that will finally reveal some unanswered questions about a mystery from the past.

Episode 8 - Whispering Pines:
Bill, Jodi’s father, is deliberately run off the road and severely injured. Jodi and her team quickly uncover that the incident was no accident but a targeted attack resulting from an old cold case of his. Determined to solve the case once and for all, Jodi takes it upon herself to bring closure, all while her father fights for his life in the hospital.

I've had the opportunity to see this episode, and I can tell you... it's an intense and emotional one! There are plenty of questions, some unexpected twists, and a mystery that keeps you guessing right up until the very end. It's a satisfying way to wrap up Season 1 while leaving us with plenty to look forward to!

Don't miss the Season 1 finale of Blue Skies tonight at 9pm/8c. on UPtv!

And there's even more good news... Season 2 is also HERE!

If you've been wondering what comes next for Jodi, Blue, and the rest of the team, you won't have to wait any longer. Blue Skies Season 2 premieres TODAY on UP Faith & Family!

I was fortunate enough to screen the first two episodes of Season 2, and I'm happy to say... they are just as enjoyable as Season 1! It was so much fun seeing everyone again, especially Jodi and her faithful detective dog, Blue!

The first episode sets everything up with the welcome return of mostly all of the same characters from the first season. There's a new mystery that centers around a bike race through the park, and Jodi's friend, Ryan Miller, who is former police and current head of the search and rescue (SAR) unit - becomes the new interim sheriff, which places a new level of responsibility on his shoulders, while he still always finds time for helping out Jodi.

According to UPtv, season two will build on the stories and characters from the first season, including returning cast members Scarlet Hunter as Detective Jodi Larsen, Markian Tarasiuk (Mistletoe Connection, Virgin River) as Ryan Miller, Veronica Long (The Wrong Paris) as Detective Nora Esposito, David Lennon (Untamed) as Detective Alex Meeks, Darius Willis as Tyson Bernard and Shaughnessy Redden as Bill Larsen. Hiro Kanagawa (Star Trek: Discovery, Avatar: The Last Airbender) joins the cast as Superintendent Clive. Together, the team will tackle a whole new range of cases, their bond strengthening as a shadowy menace looms, threatening life well beyond the park borders.

If you love a good mystery, "Blue Skies" is definitely a series to keep on your radar!

Preview with Markian Tarasiuk:

So... be sure to tune into the season 1 finale of "Blue Skies" tonight on UPtv, and if you want to check out season 2 via streaming, you can go directly to the UP Faith & Family website or add it through Dish, Sling, Apple TV+, DIRECTV, Xumo, Spectrum, Amazon Prime Video Channels, Xfinity, Cox, The Roku Channel, and YouTube Primetime Channels.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I’m especially looking forward to watching Crossroad Springs and maybe squeezing in a couple of Christmas movies to mark the 25th… because, of course, we’re officially counting down to Christmas!!! I’m planning to watch There’s No Place Like Christmas, starring Cindy Busby and Sam Page, on Great American Family and Pride, Prejudice, & Mistletoe, starring Lacey Chabert and Brendan Penny, on the Hallmark Channel!

If you’re also planning to watch a Christmas movie today, or this weekend, I’d love to hear what’s on your list in the comments below! It can be one of the movies airing on TV Friday night or anything else!

I also wanted to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who prayed for my family after the storm that came through last week. We’re all doing well as we’re in the middle of the clean-up and repairs, but little by little, we’re getting there. We’re hearing now that it may have actually been a tornado, which is honestly a little hard to take in. More than anything, and I truly can't say it enough... I’m just incredibly thankful to God that we all made it through safely.

Take care, everyone...

Have a Blessed Weekend!!!

Watch Candace Cameron Bure Tonight in 'Special Forces: World's Toughest Test'

2026-09-24T04:00:00.000-04:00

Just a little reminder to tune in TONIGHT!

Candace Cameron Bure is joining the fifth season of FOX's Special Forces: World's Toughest Test, where 15 celebrities will face intense physical and mental challenges in the jungles of Malaysia.

This will be really different for those of us who are used to seeing Candace in sweet, heartwarming Christmas movies. This time she's stepping WAY outside her comfort zone!

I love Candace's willingness to face her fears and take on something so challenging! She's always been open about her Christian faith, and has shared that she doesn't want fear to dictate her life... so she hopes to encourage others to face their fears, too. (I absolutely love that!)

Of course, as I mentioned in a previous post, we Christmas movie fans will also recognize another familiar face among the contestants! Actor Oliver Hudson, who starred alongside Candace in the 2016 Hallmark time-travel movie Journey Back to Christmas, is taking on this adventure as well!

I'm looking forward to seeing Candace and Oliver in this show and cheering them both on as they take on this incredible challenge!

Special Forces: World's Toughest Test Season Five

Premieres Thursday, September 24, 2026

at 9pm ET/PT on FOX

(Streaming the following day on Hulu.)
Future episodes will air on Thursdays.

My Quick Take: 🎄❤️

I'm super excited about the 2026 Christmas movie season on Great American Family! I'm already looking forward to watching so much!

It's honestly VERY hard to narrow down my must-see list because there are so MANY great choices! But if I had to pick just a few, my top three must-see movies are:

🎄 A Christmas Prayer Tradition - I loved the faith in the first movie, so I'm especially excited for this sequel!
🎄 Silver Bells at Christmas - I can't wait to hear Laura Osnes and country singer Chuck Wicks sing together!
🎄 Three Generations, One Christmas - I'm looking forward to all the singing and dancing with Mario Lopez, his son Dominic, his wife Courtney, and of course, Tony Danza - who will likely show them all "Who's the Boss"! (Am I right?)

And that's just the beginning! I'm also REALLY excited to see Candace Cameron Bure, Danica McKellar, Cameron Mathison, and Ryan Paevey each starring in two brand-new Christmas movies this holiday season! There are so many good choices - what an incredible lineup! Plus, Cindy Busby, Sam Page, Jill Wagner, Jesse Hutch, and Trevor Donovan are back, too! Love these actors! I told you it was hard to choose! I'm definitely watching ALL of these movies!

Now I want to hear from you! Which Great American Family Christmas movies are you most excited about watching this year? Share your top picks in the comments below! 🎅❤️

It is so delightful to see Elizabeth's excited reaction as Abigail walks toward her in Hope Valley! I just love the way she joyfully shouts Abigail's name! And of course Abigail says she can't miss her wedding - as the two embrace! This promo truly warmed my heart!

We also get a little hint of Rosemary, Elizabeth, and Abigail walking and talking together like old times, plus a quick snippet of Nathan, Allie, Elizabeth, Abigail, and LJ in Elizabeth's kitchen at the end.

Have a Great Weekend, Everyone!

I hope all of you who enjoy a good mystery (like me!) will tune in for the new Garage Sale Mystery premiering this weekend! I’m so happy to see this mystery series return.

And Crossroad Springs looks like it will be another wonderful episode, too. I’ve really been enjoying this sweet series - love the faith, family, and farm life!

Speaking of family, I also wanted to share a little bit about what happened to my family this week. We had what seemed like a normal thunderstorm come through at my parents’ home. I was there, along with other family. There wasn’t a thunderstorm watch or warning at the time, so we really weren’t expecting anything severe. The lightning became pretty intense, and then suddenly the wind picked up tremendously. Before we knew it, we started hearing loud crashing sounds around the house. I think we all said all at once, what was that?

More than twenty evergreen trees came down, with three of them crashing into windows. Oh my... the mess!!!! There was broken glass, pine needles, debris, and rain coming into the house. The force of everything even knocked shelves from the walls and broke some glass décor inside. (even some sentimental Christmas pieces)

Needless to say, we were all pretty shaken.

I’m so thankful for the strong men in our family who went right to work, even in the pouring rain, clearing debris and boarding up the broken windows... while all of us girls cleaned the glass and debris on the inside, and we’ve all still been cleaning up inside and outside ever since.

And, of course, our weather was unusually hot this week for September, which has made the cleanup even more challenging!

It has been heartbreaking to see so much damage. Those beautiful trees have been there for years and hold so many wonderful family memories. Some beautiful fencing was also taken down, there is damage to the roof, and seeing the property look so different overnight has been emotional.

But even in the midst of all that devastation, we are ALL praising God.

When I think about how close those trees and flying debris came to where we were, I’m simply overwhelmed with gratitude that we were all safely inside, and no one was hurt. Things can be repaired, and trees can eventually be replanted, but our family is safe, and that is what matters most. And all of the neighbors are safe, too, although they also had plenty of damage to their homes, as well.

So, my friends, please take care and stay safe, especially if storms are headed your way. Sometimes severe weather can come so unexpectedly.

God bless you all,

Net

SHINING HIS LIGHT:

a very present help in trouble.”

There’s just one catch: Avery knows next to nothing about football or Chicago. Enter Darlene’s handsome grandson Matt (Buckley), a Chicago firefighter and die-hard Bears fan who, with a little gentle nudging from Darlene, agrees to show Avery what being part of Bears Nation is all about.

As Avery follows Darlene’s remarkable story through cherished game-day traditions, festive Chicago adventures and memories of a love story that began at a stadium, she starts to understand that football is about much more than what happens on the field. Great American Christmas:

Small Town Churches

invites Americans to nominate

a church making a difference

through faith, service and

the true meaning of Christmas

NEW YORK — September 17, 2026 — As churches across America prepare to welcome neighbors, friends and families in for the joyous Christmas season, Great American Media is launching a new nationwide initiative celebrating the important role local churches play in caring for their communities, especially during the Christmas season.

Great American Christmas: Small Town Churches invites Americans to nominate a small-town church they love, share how that church serves its community at Christmas, and how additional support from Great American Media could help make an even greater difference.

Churches meet their communities’ most immediate needs while offering faith, encouragement, belonging and hope, helping families reconnect with the true meaning of Christmas.

“Churches are at the heart of so many communities, especially at Christmas,” said Kaitlyn Haubrich, Chief Brand Officer and Chief of Staff at Great American Media. “We are honored to support some of the churches caring for families, strengthening faith and bringing the true meaning of Christmas to life.”

Support will be shaped around the needs of each selected church and the community it serves. That could include helping with Christmas outreach, food or gift ministries, children’s and family programs, worship or music programs, transportation, decorations or another need identified by the church.

Great American Media is asking church members, pastors, ministry leaders, neighbors and viewers to help identify churches that are taking care of those around them and making Christmas meaningful in their communities.

Know a church that deserves to be recognized this Christmas?

Nominate it.
Tell us its story.
Tell us how we can help.
Nominations will be accepted through October 15 at Great American Christmas: Small Town Churches. The selected churches will be announced on October 27 and will be celebrated across Great American Media’s social and digital platforms.

2026-09-15T18:46:17.359-04:00

Wonderful Christmas movie news!

Hallmark Media has announced today through Deadline that Fiona Gubelmann and Marco Grazzini are starring in An Angel in My Stocking, along with actress Carol Kane, for Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas!

According to Deadline's article, this is the storyline:
"In the movie, Amanda (Gubelmann) and Jack (Grazzini) had a whirlwind romance and got married after knowing each other for only three months. Their first – and only – Christmas together was calamitous and was the beginning of the end to their brief marriage. Three years post-divorce and still harboring an aversion to the holiday, Amanda is heading to Vermont with her sister Lucy (Williams) to enjoy an un-Christmasy getaway…and finds that Jack is on their flight. En route, Amanda meets Margaret (Kane), a quirky traveler who disappears without a trace and without being seen by anyone else, leaving Amanda mystified. Bad weather diverts the plane to the remote town of Pinecone Lake, leaving Amanda with the last person she wants to be stranded with – Jack. Shortly after arrival, Margaret inexplicably reappears and convinces a confused Amanda that she is in fact her guardian angel and has been her entire life. As the days leading to Christmas pass by, Amanda slowly begins to feel connected to the community and, with Margaret’s guidance, sees beyond past circumstances and follows her heart to where – and with whom – she truly belongs."

Are you excited to see this movie? I adore Fiona, so I'm delighted to see she'll be back this Christmas!

The weekend is finally here, friends! I hope we can all enjoy a relaxing, peaceful weekend.

SHINING HIS LIGHT:

“Let your light shine before others,

that they may see your good deeds

and glorify your Father in heaven.”

- Matthew 5:16

Sometimes, all it takes is a little kindness or a gentle smile to bring light into someone's difficult day. We may never know how God can use even our smallest acts of love, so let's stay close to Him and allow His goodness to shine through us wherever we go.

September 11th, 2001 - What I Remember Most About That Day...

2026-09-11T00:05:00.000-04:00

September 11, 2001 - 25 Years Later...

Labor Day had passed. Summer was winding down. It began like an ordinary September morning... until suddenly, it wasn’t.

I still remember hearing the terrifying news that a plane had hit the North Tower of the World Trade Center. Was this an accident, I wondered.

I remember staring at the television, watching the smoke billowing from the tall building, my eyes filling with tears as I innocently thought, How will they ever get all of those people out? I was young and naive, I suppose, to think it possible.

When the second plane hit, we knew this was something far beyond what any of us had first imagined.

Everything seemed to stop around the world. People left work, school, and appointments. So many simply wanted to get home - to be with the people they loved.

My family gathered together in our den around the television, and we held each other. Even though we had other TVs throughout our home, no one wanted to be in another room that day. We wanted to be together. We wanted to stay close.

And we prayed together... as the unimaginable unfolded before us.

We called loved ones just to hear their voices and make sure they were okay. Not everyone had cell phones then, so reaching people wasn’t as easy as it is today.

I remember looking toward the sky and wondering where another plane might be headed. There were so many unknowns and so much fear.

We watched on TV - as brave firemen, police officers, and EMTs ran toward the danger in New York, while dazed office workers escaped with frightful looks of confusion on their faces.

Then came the news of the plane hitting the Pentagon. Rumors spread that the Capitol or the White House would be next. Federal buildings were then ordered to be evacuated.

Then Flight 93 crashed into a field in Pennsylvania. At the time, we didn’t know it would be the last plane. We still feared there could be more. In the days that followed, we would learn about the incredible courage and sacrifice of the heroes aboard that flight.

For days, and then weeks, the news seemed to stay on constantly. It was a heartbreaking, heavy time.

But amid all that darkness, I also remember something beautiful.

America came together. We were united.

American flags seemed to be flying everywhere. There was a renewed love for our country and a reminder of just how precious life, family, faith, and freedom truly are.

All these years later, I still vividly remember the fear and heartbreak of that September day. But I also remember the prayers, the heroes, and the way we all held one another a little tighter.

Today, I pray for the families who still carry the loss of September 11th. I pray we never forget the innocent lives taken, the heroes who sacrificed so much, and the countless lives forever changed.

And I continually pray that God will bring us peace and unity once again!

If you have thoughts you'd like to share about September 11th, please feel free to share in comments below.

Holding all of you dear friends close,

KAREN KINGSBURY’S

THE CHRISTMAS RING

TO PREMIERE AS PART OF

GREAT AMERICAN CHRISTMAS 2026

#1 New York Times Bestselling Author Karen Kingsbury’s Unforgettable Christmas Story Comes to Great American Pure Flix, November 5, Great American Family and GFAM+, November 7

All-Star Cast Led by Jana Kramer, Ben Hollingsworth, Kelsey Grammer, Megan Ashley Brown, and Jessie James Decker in A Story of Love, Family, Faith, and the Extraordinary Meaning Held in One Treasured Christmas Ring

NEW YORK, NY – September 2, 2026 – Great American Media announced today the heartfelt film from #1 New York Times bestselling author, Karen Kingsbury, The Christmas Ring, featuring an all-star ensemble cast led by Jana Kramer, Ben Hollingsworth, multiple Emmy Award® and Golden Globe Award® winner, Kelsey Grammer, Megan Ashley Brown, and Jessie James Decker, will premiere across its platforms, streaming FIRST on Great American Pure Flix, Thursday, November 5, and airing on Great American Family and GFAM+, Saturday, November 7 (8p).

Based on Karen Kingsbury’s 2025 book by the same name, in The Christmas Ring, military widow Vanessa Mayfield (Kramer) has spent years searching for her family’s treasured Christmas ring, a gold-and-ruby heirloom discovered by her great-grandfather in Normandy on D-Day and passed down through generations before Vanessa lost it. Her search leads her to Ben Miller (Hollingsworth), a widowed antiques dealer who understands her loss, and a friendship between them gradually becomes an unexpected second chance at love. As Christmas approaches, Vanessa prepares for her annual military Christmas dance and the return of her college-age daughter, Sadie (Ashley Brown) who doesn’t yet know about Ben. Meanwhile, Ben’s father and business partner, Howard Miller (Grammer), unknowingly acquires Vanessa’s missing ring in a box of antiques and, unaware of its history, plans to sell the valuable find. When Ben realizes the ring his father is about to sell is the heirloom Vanessa has searched for all these years, he races to save it – setting in motion a Christmas reunion with a treasured piece of Vanessa’s past and the possibility of a new future neither Vanessa nor Ben thought they would find again.

“Karen Kingsbuy has an extraordinary ability to tell stories that reach people where they live; stories grounded in faith, family, and precious relationships,” said Bill Abbott, President & CEO, Great American Media. “The Christmas Ring beautifully reflects what Great American Christmas stands for: exceptional storytelling with heart, purpose, and lasting meaning. We are honored to bring Karen’s beloved story to the screen and to share it with families this Christmas,” Abbott concluded.

The Christmas Ring also features nearly one hundred actual retired or active military members, all of whom answered Kingsbury’s call to give honor to those who have served the United States. One of the actors, James Daniels, was a World War II Veteran, who has since passed on.

“It was my honor to include actual military for the background acting in our movie,” Kingsbury said. “I am absolutely thrilled to be partnering with Great American for The Christmas Ring’s TV and streaming release this coming holiday season. I have a feeling people will want to watch it with their families and loved ones … again and again this Christmas.”

The Christmas Ring movie adaptation is written by Karen Kingsbury and Tyler Russell. Tyler Russell directs. Karen Kingsbury is Executive Producer. More than 100,000 copies of The Christmas Ring book have been sold, and publisher Thomas Nelson expects the book to be a top seller this season, as well.

Are you excited for this NEW Christmas movie? I think The Ornament Library sounds VERY intriguing!!!! I mean, who doesn't love an adventure with Christmas, romance, and a scavenger hunt?

The storyline is giving me the feel of Christmas at the Plaza meets A Vintage Christmas meets Meet Me in the Margins!

First, the popular Christmas movie, Christmas at the Plaza, which of course starred Ryan Paevey, was all about ornaments. In that film, he was assisting a historian; in this new movie, he'll be helping a librarian.

Second, A Vintage Christmas, which stars Merritt Patterson, is about finding the owner of Christmas Letters to Santa; in The Ornament Library, they are locating the owners of ornaments.

And lastly, there's a mention in The Ornament Library storyline of discovering a secret room, and of course there was also a secret hidden room in Merritt Patterson's rom-com movie, Meet Me in the Margins.

So... it should be interesting to see if there are other similarities!

I'm really looking forward to seeing the pairing of Merritt Patterson and Ryan Paevey this Christmas season! I hope you are, too!
