Silk vs. Milk Challenge

I was asked by BzzAgent to take the Silk 10 day Challenge. Switch from regular milk to Silk for 10 days and let them know what I think. Well I'm here to say, I love Silk! I can't believe it! I was very skeptical at first, but the flavor of the Light regular Silk and the Chocolate Silk are amazing!!! I've bought 7 cartons of Silk in the 10 days because we've loved the product so much my family has been drinking more "milk" than normal!

I tried the PureCoconut, but thought the flavor was way too strong and more something to cook with then just drink out of the package. The Vanilla flavor was just okay. I think maybe it's an aquired taste cause the kids loved it, but not me.

I will happily continue buying Silk and watching for sale's so I can stock up! That's the best think about Silk, until the product is opened it stays good for a long time! The ones I purchased an expiration date of 6 weeks out. However, once you open the carton it does say drink within 7-10 days. But still that's amazing compared to regular milk!

Check this out…I am very happy that this policy is so nicely spelled out now. Print a copy and take it with you when you go shopping. Also: Note: If a coupon dollar amount exceeds the item, the remainder of that coupon will be put towards other items you are buying. *This is HUGE!

Walmart accepts the following types of coupons (see guidelines below):

Manufacturers’ coupons
Print-at-home internet coupons
- Must be legible, have “Manufacturer Coupon” printed on them, have a valid remit address for the manufacturer, valid expiration date, and have a scannable bar code.
Competitors’ coupons that feature a specific item for a specified price
- for example, $2.99
Soft drink container caps
Checkout coupons
- (also called “Catalinas”) that are printed at our competitors’ registers, have “Manufacturer Coupon” with specific requirements printed on them, a valid remit address for the manufacturer, valid expiration date, and a scannable bar code.

Walmart does not accept the following coupons:

Print-at-home Internet coupons that require no purchase
Competitors’ coupons for dollars/cents or percentage off, buy one get one free, and double- or triple-value coupons

The following are guidelines and limitations:

Only one coupon per item is permitted.
Coupons must have an expiration date and be redeemed prior to expiration.
Coupons may exceed the price of the item. Change may be given or applied toward the cost of the basket purchase.
Walmart only accepts coupons for merchandise that we sell.
Coupons must be presented at the time of purchase.
We accept the following with Customer Service Supervisor/Management approval:
- 40 or more coupons
- Any coupon over $20
- $50 or more in coupons in one transaction

14,000 pounds of ground beef has been recalled because it may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7 bacteria, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Creekstone Farms Premium Beef, of Arkansas City, Kansas, was recently lauded in its hometown paper for successfully reaching high-end markets from Wichita to New York City. The recall affects five products marked with "EST. 27" inside the USDA mark of inspection (weights are approximate):

I have found the BEST Coffee-mate creamer and I just HAD to share! Vanilla Chai Spice - use it in tea or coffee for a chai flavor witha creamy rich taste. This stuff is so amazing! I bring big bottles into work and they're gone in three days. Everyone just loves it! Give it a try next time you're at the store, although it is hard to find. The germs are Winning!

I can't believe it...I'm still sick! Saturday, Feb. 19th I caught a stomach bug and since then I've been sick. First with the stomach bug, then acid reflux and now I think the flu. My poor son has been sick 4 full days longer than I have, so who am I to complain? But this is awful!!!

And to top it off my husband is TDY right now. So the added burden of being a single married parent is there. (A term a good friend founded - it's a military term, means you're married, but while your spouse is gone you're a single married parent - you're doing all the parenting like a single parent with the added burden of knowing there's a spouse out there that make not like how you're doing things when he/she returns!) What a life!

So unless I happen across an amazing deal that just has to be shared, I'll probably be doing little blogging in order to save my sanity and my health. Get this...I've not grocery shopped or deal shopped in 2 weeks! No searching for freebies or stopping for that great find. Of course I've made up for it in all the Over the Counter Medicines I've had to buy - about $100 worth so far!

Life can be so challenging sometimes...why does it all have to happen at once?

Didn't feel good all weekend

What was a hellacious migraine on Thursday has become a throbbing pain in my head, dizziness with mild nausea and extreme tiredness. No blogging this weekend and honestly I just want to go to bed and not wake up for a few days.

Hopefully this feeling will subside and I'll feel better soon. My son had a fever all day Sunday and was completely lathargic, so maybe it's more than just side effects from a migraine. Hmm...we'll see with time!

I love that I inspire so many to want to coupon and save money for their family! The questions I get asked most frequently are "How do you do it? Where did you get the coupon?" And the usual expression of "I WANT FREE milk, cheese, rice, etc, etc ..."

So I'm going to try to give the Newbies some easy matchups to get them started.

First, buy a newspaper EVERY Sunday! Whether you think there are coupons in it you will use or not buy the paper and hang on to the Coupon Inserts just in case! DO NOT THROW ANY AWAY UNTIL YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY SURE EVERY LAST COUPON IN THAT INSERT IS EXPIRED!!!

Second, Hit up the ecoupons site's and load FREE Digital coupons to your shopper's card.This takes very little work and when you're shopping at the grocery I promise you'll see savings you didn't expect just from these ecoupons! Read more about how ecoupons work HERE.

Third, Follow me. Sign up with Google and become a follower to my blog. Or input your email address on my homepage (top right) and get my daily posts emailed directly to you! Then watch the Newbie deals I post weekly and SHOP!
