BASHITE!!

Tanzania has been an event driven country; especially since John Magufuli was sworn in as the president of the United Republic of Tanzania back in November, 2015.

We have been overwhelmed with event after event, each day comes with something new that always jeopardizes the chances of as a country settling in one issue, trying to solve whatever problem we are facing at the moment. This trend has been mostly because of the way our government works, everybody comes with agenda; EVERYDAY and the worst part is, most of these agendas are not even remotely close hence we find ourselves in amidst of chaos, eventually we end up spectators without any clear solution in mind.

Few weeks ago, Dar es salaam’s regional commissioner Paul Makonda or as he is now famously known Daudi Albert Bashite a.k.a DAB, made the headlines as he usually does, since those referendum days with his little incident that involved the then chairman of referendum committee who also served as the prime minister years ago. Makonda became known more as Kinondoni’s District Commissioner back then when Mkwere was the president before clinching to his present position.

This time around, Makonda was on literally everybody’s mouth after taking to public the names of people who according to him were both in drug use and drug business, the list that by majority contained names of some famous people in the land.

The move was applauded by just as many as those who opposed it but in the end, drug issue was given attention that it actually needed even if the way RC chose to conquer the problem was more of a publicity than really doing something about the disaster. Mind you, RC has state apparatus under him, why did he not call up for an investigation, catch these people silently and then come up with names plus evidence??

As usual, it was a rush decision that did more harm than good, especially to those who were victimized.

Like I said before, the country has been overwhelmed with series of events it’s “Bandika Bandua style and this was evidenced when deputy minister for health, Dr Hamis Kigwangalla tried to steal spotlight, vowing to announce the names of homosexuals who are using social media to “market themselves” all this before the drug dust settles, as Tanzanians he stole our attention from all the other things for a little while, most of us trying to discuss in social media what this really means and for how long the government is going to deflect from the most important issues.

Unfortunately for Kigwangalla, his issue was not so hot, the drug thing was still the trendiest topic in the end he failed to publicly announce the names due to “technical reasons”, I guess he would have used paper to write the names of the culprits just like Makonda we would have another story to tell.

Amid all these, the biggest truth bomb was dropped, few posts started to circulate claiming MAKONDA is not MAKONDA!!!

According to sources, Paul C. Makonda is actually Daud Bashite. All that he has right at this moment came because was given another person’s certificate since he scored divion 0 on his O-Level national exams.

I am not going to check authenticity of these allegations but I have to point out the fact that one of the things that this government does best is calling press to refute, explain or sometimes just impose new things; by this trend the fact that RC or any other government official hasn't come forward to “clean” Makonda/Bashite’s name is daunting.

There are so many success stories out there, Bashite’s is not as inspiring as most of these stories. There are people who have gone through hell to get to the place they are right now, Bashite’s story is relevant and close for us to understand. From this point onwards, I will be referring to RC as Daudi Bashite just to avoid confusion, I want to talk about Bashite as a person and one lesson that we all need to take from this man. Daudi Bashite has gone through many failures but he kept on pushing.

As I mentioned earlier, he didn’t perform well in his O level examination but when he got a chance to redeem himself, even if it was using another person’s certificate; he took the chance. Fortunately, that wasn’t his last failure as he was denied admission to Sokoine in 2005, but in 2006 he applied in another College and managed to get in. One year into his studies, Bashite ran out of luck as he was discontinued from his course due to bad performance (6 supplementary out of 8 courses). The stories of failures in his life are many that will probably bore you but my message is one and it can’t be as clear as KEEP GOING, KEEP PUSHING.

Just like Bashite didn’t give up and kept on trying, you owe it to yourself to not give up. You are much more than whatever you are going through, you are a winner, don’t you ever forget that. While you keep on pushing, be nice; be nice to all people around you regardless of how useless you might think they are.

Hey, remember one thing as you "Bashitelize" on your way to the top -SIKIO HALIZIDI KICHWA, be humble, be considerate, listen. Even when you are the king or stand amid people on behalf of the living God, be compassionate, have empathy and don't hit others on the head with your power.

THIS MOMENT VS FUTURE; THE BATTLE OF REALITY AND PROMISE.

This moment is all we probably have, may be our tomorrow is not there at all. Even though we do not know what will happen, most of us lives in the future which is a very good way of escaping the reality of our lives.

Concentrating on what future hold can be as helpful just as it can be destructive. Personally, am pretty much focused on how I want to see myself in the future, it’s a sort of mental stubbornness that is fixated on a specific result.

The curse of such focus lies in the fact that we sometimes want to attain something that probably will not be as exciting as we are envisioning. We fail to live in the moment and we will almost always let go of the opportunities simply because those opportunities, in any way doesn’t reflect on the grand plan we have for the future.

Having a target, a dream is important but letting that future rob from this very moment might be a debt you will not be able to pay yourself. Life is full of surprises, having an open heart and open eyes to always look into everything before you is important step towards making your goals a reality.

Today, this moment, this very second is a determinant of probably everything you are ever going to be, it is cruel not only to yourself but everybody else who knows you. Goals when set well and firmly will always nag you, you will feel ashamed not walking towards them even if nobody else knows about them.

The point here is not you freezing, the point is for you to watch your steps as you climb the stairs. Every single thing you do will either take you closer or further from what you truly desire, take that opportunity to learn how your today going to affect your tomorrow without necessarily living your tomorrow on this moment.

Better tomorrow is pretty much a function of a well lived today, take care of your today, it’s your reality.

MY RELIGION IS WEIRD, SO IS YOURS

What do you believe in?? I hope you believe in God, the almighty.

The weird thing is we have different ways of looking at this God, each one of our faiths gives a reflection of who God is and slight differences also do exist.

The ideas of God and faith creates blocks that has differing views or rather idea of everything that God stands for. Let’s take a look just for a minute on this “Christianity block”, these of us who believe that God sent his only son to die on the cross for our sins. That Emmanuel “Jesus” is a part of holy trinity that includes him, God and Holy ghost.

Even though most of us Christians believe on all that, still we have our very deep differences. Put aside the fact that we have different worshiping days but we also have different prayers, seems whoever translated our prayers from whichever language they originated from was not that competent or he/ she added stuffs according to his or her understanding; I deeply believe it was a man who did this mess though.

Seventh-Day Sabbath (SDA) believes what we’ve been calling Saturday is actually that big day that God decided to put everything aside and just rest; it’s the day we are all supposed to do nothing but thank God for everything he has done for us; bad and good we have been through. There are couple of other not well known religions that rests and prays on Saturday and truth be told, I have never seen any other denomination that is highly vested in doing the right thing (Resting on seventh day) as SDA people.

I am a Catholic, in my opinion one of the very loose denominations in the world. Our day is Sunday, which is supposedly the first day of the week and we do not necessarily rest on this day; we just go to church. In my eyes, my religion is weird as there are things that I don’t approve of and I totally don’t understand but so is your religion.

It’s unfortunate or fortunate depending on the way you look at it, my friends all belong to different faith and none of them is Catholic like me. What bugs me the most is some of the people who slaps others on the face with their religions thinking theirs is the best religion in the world.

We divide ourselves basing on who prays on which day, who is the symbol of your religion/ denomination etc. One of strongest words I ever read reflected on God, the writer made a statement on the difference we people have and concluded that God did all that to see how we would treat each other.

I pray to God and my prayers are granted, Muslims pray to Allah who is essentially as Godly as my God is and their prayers are answered, Protestants do the same and receive all the glory.

Every other religion and denomination (To me) is super weird, there are things I hear others do and just grin thinking how different our perception of God is and as far as I know, my denomination chuckles some people. Your faith is perfect in your eyes but not in everyone else’s, but it is as important as going to heaven respecting what other people’s beliefs.

Your truth is not a universal truth, don’t force everyone to see things from your perspective.

IS EVERYTHING GOD’S WISH?

First of all, I believe there is God, my faith taught me so and for some reason I strongly believe there is no greater and meaningful explanation of life and all that is than the presence of supernatural being we call God. I can’t identify myself as a “Religious” person, not to the traditional meaning of that word apparently. I have listened to atheists and their points, scientists also with their theories but I still remain with my belief which is founded on the basis of knowledge, I have made an informed decision that God do exist.

I do envy some religious people, those people who have unquestionable belief in God, they do not have questions about God but some of the very same people have made me sit back and think, is everything that happens is God’s will? Does God really know our beginning until the end of our lives? Is God our daily planner that we are living each day on what he has planned, all the daily events are according to what he wishes.

I know this is a sensitive topic to some people, God loves us and he gave us brain to think. We can never be as smart as he is but at `least we can make a good use of our brains by diving deep into our hearts and ask ourselves if the message that was delivered to us (Africans), the idea we have of God that in its entirety contradicts with our forefather’s beliefs is a hundred percent accurate. My biggest dilemma comes from the fact that there is hell; place for wrong doers/ sinners to be punished for following the Satan.

God directs our path, and for the sake of understanding let’s call him “THE DIRECTOR”, in this; all that is in universe is part of God’s cast, we human being the main actors in this movie we call life. Let’s take this example, you are a movie director who has gone through script over and over again, you know all the twists and turns, you have mapped everything on your mind and you can see all that you need your actors to present to perfection. My biggest question is, if you have given an actor a villain role, wouldn’t you give him credit if he acts according to the script and your vision??? Why would the director punish the actor who gave life to the script? If it’s true that everything we do, all the moves we make are exactly as God wanted us to be, hell is of no use as we don’t have control.

My version of God though is this, he loves us, intervenes in our favor but he gave us choice. God has nothing to do with the sins we do, it hurts him every single time we leave the right path. As loving as he is, he presents himself in many ways to show us the right way but in the end it is upon us to choose which way we want to go. Not everything is God’s plan, we are not his slaves he lets us choose that’s why he gave us brain in the first place. If we all agree that God gives us all choice, to choose between right and wrong, we choose the path we want to go then it’s safe to also think that our circumstances are dictated not only by God but also our own forms of limitations. We doubt ourselves so much that we find an excuse, the biggest being “This is what God has planned for me” and may be is in heaven shrugging “I don’t know who told this idiot I planned for him/ her to suffer and be evil”.

God’s Love is the greatest “If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him! Mathew 7:11

Don't forget statistically speaking there is a .0238 percent chance that your religion is "right." If so, can't you just sit back and evaluate the teachings? Get involved.

WOMEN-MOTHERS; GOD'S FINEST CREATION

Mothers are the life givers; they are our first Love in most cases. I think it’s fair to say there is no greater creation than a woman, they are amazing with big, golden and strongest hearts. How can a creature that God created from just one rib be that perfect while us men that God took so much time, energy and resources (Clay or any dust used) are not even as half as women who are made not even from quarter of what we are? We are beasts compared to women, of course there are few women out there who tarnish the good image of what a woman is but still whenever you dive deep and think, you will always thank God for blessing the world that much. The highest and most precious level of woman ship is being a mom; undoubtedly one of the most exhaustive jobs in the world and sometimes it just goes without a simple THANK YOU.

As a kid, I was one of those kids you can categorize as a Daddy’s boy, honestly I never knew how much moms are amazing for the first 13 years of my life. I have my dad in most of my childhood memories, he was the closest friend I had and after he passed on I had quite a difficult time bonding with the only parent I had left; my mom. She was a stranger to me, seemed like we spoke different languages probably because we had really never been as close as it was with dad or may be because we had this ridiculous idea that she favors my brother who is two years older than me. The worst thing I ever said unfortunately is what I said to the person I know Love the most in this world, someone who have been with me through it all; not actually just being there she practically took my hand through life and all the hardships. She worked hard not only to make sure that I have clean clothes, good food but she made sure that I go to school.

I thank God for two things, creating ideal man and bless me enough to make that man my father and giving me an opportunity to experience this amazing love that you can never get anywhere else; Mother’s Love. It’s the purest Love of all, the kind of love that doesn’t demand anything back. No matter how much you screw up, they just get mad but will be the first to defend you when the rest of the world is attacking you, they are the strongest rock anybody can wish for. Have you ever imagined the courage to carry a baby inside you? These amazing people we call women/ mothers knows from the beginning how much it’s going to hurt when the day comes, they know and have witnessed their fellow women go crazy during pregnancy but still choose to give life. Actually, I am talking to the women who have the courage to match on and fight the life of the baby they carrying not those who resort to abortion.

It takes the courage that possibly none of us men can muster even though we are most courageous in other matters. Seeing your body change, belly growing larger, cramps, crazy hormones, hating people in which spouses sometimes falls a victim. The life of a woman has two difficult jobs, pregnancy and bringing up the baby which in most of African countries and cultures is still mother’s responsibility by huge percent, adding up the fact that we (men) still irritate these amazing creations is adding salt to injury. “My mother is the most amazing person, she can hear I have killed three people and her response would be “What did they do to you baby”- Anonymous. A woman is God’s finest creation I have no doubt about that, we respect women than we respect ourselves because they are quite a blessing. To all mothers, the mothers to be with their big hearts, unconditional Love please put smile on those beautiful faces, we love and appreciate you. We are men, idiots at times and might not say this as much as you deserve to know.

MUHAMMAD ALI:- BRAGGING RIGHT

I want to brag so bad, not just to tell you but showing you what I have accomplished. I know it’ll piss you off and there is nothing that’ll make me happier than knowing I have beaten you. Think about it, the way you made me afraid to take steps, the way I hesitated on the matters that would have made me exceptional long ago. If you have a face, I want to be there before you, bragging. Hey, look at me now, I am not the guy I used to be. I am happier and successful in a way am sure you never imagined. I took baby steps, one step at a time and here I am, happy and successful.

The Late Muhamad Ali worked hard to get the right to brag, before being called the greatest he gave himself the tittle. He was once quoted saying “If you even dream of beating me..You'd better wake up & apologize”, he was the best, he knew it and bragged about it. He had the right to, through persistence and hard work he managed to be the man we all know him for. The late Ali, is one of those people who have attained level of success that you have to reach to gain your bragging right.

The ultimate joy of achieving the dreams you deeply desired for years, am not sure how many things can beat that feeling. Some of us are lucky enough to be born with golden spoons, some have to climb the mountains to reach where they want to be. Personally I have read stories of people who were born in nice families but wanted to experience the journey themselves, they abandoned wealth their families had and hustled their way up the ladder of success, I admire that strength and willingness to try. I want to achieve that level of success that will allow me to brag, the difference with Muhammad Ali,

I don’t want to brag to the world, I want to boast to no one rather than my inner fears. Those beasts inside me that in so many ways have tried so hard to make sure that I don’t move forward, we all have things within us that’s making us reluctant of taking action, those are our worst enemies and once we’ve beaten them we can brag proudly not to the world, not to friends or our enemies in the world but to ourselves.

Anybody can brag but I want to have the right to do so, I want the fears that our hearts carry to know how much willingness can take people that if these fears can communicate with one another they can pass the message around that they are only powerful when the person they dwell on lets them to be. We all deserve shutting down our inner doubts, we deserve taking steps without fear, we deserve to be winners. Let’s be Ali but brag silently to doubts we have of ourselves.

Love is one of the most powerful words, one of the strongest feelings ever known to man. Being in Love is an idea that some don't get. Love is never an easy thing to come by and even when it comes by, our lives sometimes makes it so hard to stick around. People have been hurt by Love countlessly and few who are fortunate enough have experienced ultimate joy it brings. Love shouldn't hurt and if we look well into our lives we'll find ourselves surrounded with love, sometimes we are drowned in our own sorrows that we forget to see all that.

The biggest promise we all have to make is "I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU❤️‍❤️‍" only this time we are not promising any other person but us. Learn to Love yourself deeply, you are the only person who should never get tired of you, all other people will someday change, disappoint and hurt you at some point; it doesn't mean they are bad people but it's just human nature to fall short at times. If you deeply Love yourself, amid all the chaos in the world your heart will still carry a clear message and that is you matter, your life matters and you Love yourself.

The Love within us is powerful beyond measure, it's the force that pushes us to do what we desire and achieve all the goals we yearn for. When everybody else is busy with their lives and personal struggles, you will always be there to support yourself and move forward. Remember to be important to yourself first before otherpeople accepting your importance to them. Loving yourself even gives you the courage to pursue those people who in your heart you believe will make your life better. With love we choose to be happy and there is nothing better if you want to achieve success than happiness. There are so many people who will deeply Love you, allow them in your life but never dump the duty of Loving you to them.

You are like a company it doesn't matter how many employees you have, it matters not how qualified they are YOU WILL ALWAYS BE THE CLOSEST PERSON TO THE COMPANY. Be closest person to your heart, always have your back. Love yourself, love life and live life. Each day as you wake up, whisper this to yourself "I will always Love you", you deserve it.

FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN

Frightened, deeply shaken inside, you can’t move let alone breathe well before embarking on the journey you are not sure of. Our biggest problem is the fear of unknown, whether it’s approaching that girl or guy your heart skips a beat for or quitting the job you have for entrepreneurship, start a business or chasing other dreams. The question that ponders in our heads “What if I fail, what if this is not the right thing to do”.

It’s our nature as human to love security, we need assurance that even when things go sour we still won’t hit the ground and even if we do, our mind and hearts beg not to break and loose hope. Fear of the unknown, we are not sure of the outcomes of the roads we take, the dreams we pursue and the sacrifices we make but yet we need a glimpse of how well it will be at the end. The ugly truth remains, we don’t know how things turn out in the end and that scares us even more. In all the uncertainties the only hope we have is trying, you’ll never know what’s on the other side if you don’t try. Every failed experiment is one step closer to success, go on try.

Battle your deepest, darkest fears because after sometime failing won’t seem that terrifying at all, take chances as much as you can. Before working and releasing the one of the bestselling TV series of all time, comedian Dave Chappelle had to pass through hard places. At 14 while trying to pursue his dreams as a standup comedian, Dave was booed off stage but get the back up to become one of the best comedians of his time.

We don’t know what lies on the other side, this is as bad as it is good. If we are sure about everything that we are walking into, where can we get the excitement of life. If we only do things we are sure of, how can we really enjoy the fruits of our struggles. All the troubles, falling and pain along the way is what makes the victory sweet.

Stumble, fall but make sure to get up, walk again before you start running.

DESPERATE PART ONE (JOB SEEKER)

It doesn't really matter how many years you've spent looking for that "KEY TO SUCCESS" they sometimes call education. If your brain is functioning well, have needs and desire to have your job and a means to earn its always a challenge waking up another day with no job and even worse no signs of getting one. This is the time we feel vulnerable, deep down it hurts so bad and you try so hard to have just a glimpse of the light. If you are not deeply rooted in religion, it feels like God is playing practical jokes with you and slowly you start questioning almost everything.

The worst part is when you you lose your way, put aside the dreams you always believed in and worked hard just to get close to. Time passes, wind blows your confidence and self esteem as you go for anything that you think might help you get by even if its temporary and will never push you even one step closer to your dream. Being desperate, feeling hopeless. It drains your energy, your willingness to fight, it takes away your strength. I remember being there, I could apply for any job opportunity I could lay my eyes on, it didn't matter if I am over-qualified or under qualified. The feeling of leaving home in the morning and returning in the evening itself was an excitement I could really use.

The only thing I didn't know then that I know now is, people can sense you are desperate, hopeless and badly in need. In one of the many interviews I had, I remember saying yes to being an investigative journalist. I was never interested in investigative journalism, being some sort of undercover spy never intrigued me and yet because of desperately needing a job I was there saying yes to one of the very few genres of my beloved profession I wasn't really interested in since day one. As a person who has passed through that desperation time I know see things a little bit clearly, I have hopes and waking up everyday with a smile and a hope of going forward. Put your feet firmly on the ground, have faith in yourself and every other thing you do.

ALWAYS try very hard to never let the people especially potential employers to know how desperate you are. Surround yourself with Love, trust me you need it, having those who Love you unconditionally gives you strength to face the hardships.
Stay strong. Tough times don't last, tough people do.

They say no one is perfect, this means a lot to some and very little to others. Some of your worst behaviors might not necessarily be another man's. Some of us have problem with CONSISTENCY, we are easily distracted and to be fair we don't have high drive to do some of the things we are supposed to do. I Love entertainment world, its fancy and glamorous in it's unique way, filled with all types of people who makes it even more interesting and that was the initial idea behind starting this blog back in 2012.

I was young, ambitious kinda and the fact that I was just joining University to pursue my Journalistic dream, this blog aimed at sharpening my brain and make me even a better journalist in the long run but posting consistently posed a challenge. Writing is not one of my favorite things to do, if it were I would be so far right now since I usually create so many stuffs in my head but putting them on paper has never been anywhere near easy.

I have readers here, not sure if there are any regulars who checks my blog constantly but I promise to be more active and expand the scope a little bit to feature some other stuffs apart from music. I am not doing so well in inspiring myself but I can remind myself of the road I want to go through by sharing and inspiring others.

Following your own advice is never that easy (To me at least) but if that advice is good enough I want to put it out there and make sure that it reaches as many people as possible. This is the new path, being of use to others and at the same time provide some of human interest materials. It's not going to be an easy path to follow but with a widened scope it can actually be done in a certain acceptable degree.

Let's learn life and its so many challenges while we get entertained, inspired/ motivated, positive vibe...........
