I had been working out on clearing clutter and becoming more simplified in my life

This is what progress I have made so far

The kitchen was getting over run with plastic containers

Now they are BPA free but I would eventually like to go to all glass

and have less stored in them daily.

I tend to over cook

This is when I took them out of the cupboard

I enjoyed having all these little extras at one time but now they are just clutter to store and take up space

I don't need them anymore so I will let others use them

Feels good to clear out.

There is so much more to do.

Sometimes this is tough to get rid of things you might need but gotta be ruthless.

Toxins GO AWAY!

Since I am trying to get toxins out of my life I decided that May will be my greener month .

These are the items I got to make the products I have made so far.

OOPS forgot the apple cider vinegar in the picture.

I made deodorant, toothpaste, shampoo or no poo and rinse.

The pink spray bottle is the shampoo and the white spray bottle is the rinse.

The little bottle on the left is toothpaste and on the right deodorant.

Deodorant - it is a little dryer but works very good.

I haven't noticed a difference than when I was using clinical strength deodorant.

This is the toothpaste.

There are many blogs and you tube channels that have a bunch of different recipes for the following, this is just the ones I used and like.

Recipes are as follows:

Deodorant
1/4 cup Organic virgin coconut oil
1/4 cup Baking soda
1/4 cup Arrow root

In a bowl mix baking soda & arrow root powder with a wisk. Then add the coconut oil and mix till well blended. Put in jar. You could add essential oil if you wanted too but I like the smell of the coconut and after I put it on the smell fades.
After shower or bath put fingers in jar and run into arm pit. It doesn't take very much either.

Toothpaste
1/4 cup Organic virgin coconut oil
1/2 cup Baking soda
5 Tablespoons of Xylitol- it is a natural sweetener (due to the saltiness of the baking soda you may or may not want to add this.) It also has micro-bacterial killer in it so it is great for the toothpaste.
2 teaspoons of Peppermint oil (this makes it closer to the toothpaste taste most of us are use to) this is optional.
Mix together in a bowl. I like mixing the dry contents first then the wets. Put in jar and just dip toothbrush into jar to brush teeth.
This makes your teeth feel so clean and fresh. I am loving it!

No-Poo or shampoo
1 Tablespoon Baking soda
1 cup cold water

Mix in spray bottle. Shake up before each use.
After you wet your hair you spray this on the hair. It doesn't take very much, rub through and rinse.
I like to concentrate on the scalp with a good massage through before rinsing.

Rinse

1/2 cup Apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup water

You can use less vinegar if you don't have dry hair. Mix in a spray bottle and shake before each use.
After you have no-pooed or just rinse your hair in the morning spray this through your hair and rinse.

I also like to rinse my hair with a cheap mouthwash due to I get itchy scalp and this seems to help. I saw this on Dr. Oz show and it works. Rinse with water and fix hair as normal.

You will notice an adjustment period to your hair. This method strips off all the built up chemicals from the shampoos, conditioners, gels and hair sprays. After a week or so the hair grows a custom to it and is beautiful.

I have more green moves I want to make to get myself and my home toxin free to come.

Dean at 2 Weeks Old

This sweet little man, Dean, is already 2 weeks old.

Look at those sweet little eyes.

He is so curious of everything around him.

Woo Hoo a short trip to the store with Mom & Dad.

Dean is doing well. He has gained around 8 oz. and is such a handsome little guy.

Foiled Room

Earlier today Faith went to Sun Splash with her friend Mahalia and family.

While she was gone she had two friends come over and FOIL her room.

Faith's friends Skylar and Lindy came over with 17 rolls of aluminum foil.

Now waist like this bugs me but I thought it was so fun of her friends to do this to her room.

This is Faith trying to figure out who did this. At first she was accusing E'lyse, Gabby and I for doing it.

Deep Dish Pizza

Last week Coco had told me about the new deep dish pizza from Little Ceasers.

So the family gave it a try and now we are all addicted.

On Thursday night I was feeling a bit tired so I decided to get pizza for dinner that night instead of Friday night.

They were excited about it as was I .

Time To Clear Out

For the last couple months I have been wanting to get rid of things.

Yes the minimalist urge to have less clutter.

It hit me again when Dallas & Sara asked to move in. I started looking at things differently.

Seeing that the house has gotten some clutter built up, not terrible but making me uncomfortable.

I am going to be working on getting rid of things that I no longer use.

I was reading this blog post on Minimalist Mom

"what if I get rid of something I may need again?"

I love that she says"From experience you will come across things that you may need to buy or borrow again but it isn't as bad or stressful as you think it will be"

This has helped me to decide on getting rid of more things that I know longer use or need.

So here I go.

I will take pictures as I go and keep the blog posted.

Adoption Day But Not In Our House

A few weeks ago E'lyse and Gabby went to the PetClub near our house to check out the

puppies that were up for adoption.

E'lyses friend Drew sent me the pictures he said "Be glad that she

isn't 18 and doesn't have the money to get one of these cute little guys."

I was.

He is awful cute......

It's not that I don't love dogs but we already have 3 large dogs

Gabby liked this little guy

E'lyse looks like she is saying "Oh Mom I want him!!!"

Dean, he has gained 8 oz. since leaving the hospital.

He is so sweet, I just love this little man.

I got my t-shirt and posters for the Massage Without Boarders.

I still need to take posters to the massage schools.

This foundation helps massage therapist who have gone through disasters

such as Hurricane Sandy or even those who have major medical conditions they need help with.

Dallas and I (with some of E'lyses help) we cleaned,

cut up and put fruit & veggies in bags for juicing.

Boston Sadness

With the tragedy that happened yesterday in Boston at the Marathon

I am feeling anxiety, sadness and my mind is racing.

I had to stop watching coverage on the TV

I try to stay positive and uplifting

with this happening yesterday I am feeling a sadness and fear I haven't felt in a while.

My heart & prayers go out to those who lost loved ones and those who have been effected so closely by the acts of such people that would hurt others.

Praying that Heavenly Father will give those wounded comfort, strength and peace.

And those who lost loved ones will find comfort and ability to move forward in time.

My heart is so sad.

Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday was odd this year. This was the first year of not doing Easter baskets.

I honestly didn't even get the house decorated for Easter either.

I have been trying to improve the eating habits for the family not just me so I decided that we

didn't need the junk in our house or our bodies.

We went to church. The lessons were wonderful.

We came home and just relaxed. I made a Easter dinner and the family enjoyed having out.

I forgot to get a picture of the girls before they got changed after church

Earlier in the week the girls, Dallas and I went shopping at Fry's.

One of the workers always dresses up for the holidays.

A little later I was trying to get the girls to get their picture taken with him but

they wouldn't so Dallas and I did.

(I am such a kid at heart)

Library Visit

As you might have guessed I am one of those annoying people

who like to take pictures in most places.

Up until recently Gabby hasn't had a love for reading so I am more than happy to visit the library with her.

Just To Let You Know

This coming weekend is the General Conference for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints

I will taking a media fast all this week to prepare for this.

This means no blogging for me, no FB, Twitter, tumbler or social networking.

I still have a bunch to catch up on from before but it will have to wait.

Stroller Lift

When Coco and the kiddos were here visiting we went out to take a walk

as I opened up the garage the stroller went with it.

Workout In The Gym Garage

I am working on changing an area in our garage into a gym.

When Coco was here with her kiddos we started doing some serious walking daily

E'lyse decided to start a regular workout routine

Grand Babies & a Cover Up

Coco and her sweet little kiddos came down last Friday to stay and visit with us.

It is great having them here.

National Technical Honor Society

On Tuesday night E'lyse had her induction ceremony for the National Technical Honor Society.

We are very proud for how hard she has been working to keep great grades of 3.75 or better ,

not missing any days of school and community service.

Family Home Evening Fun in The Desert

Monday evening for our Family Home Evening we went out to the desert (where there are areas to shoot guns legally.) and did some shooting.

The photographer (ME) didn't get each of the girls as they shot (LAME O).

I did not catch the girls to take their picture in their pretty dresses

before they got changed into comfy clothes this week. But thought what the heck I will take it anyway.
