I picked up a bunch of cheap super pale yellow silk flowers at JoAnns several months ago. I figured I would use them for some project as their size was perfect. Well over the weekend while I was putting away, throwing out and organizing my scraproom I started thinking about dyeing them different colors but wanted a super fast and easy way. Well just then I had my copic markers in my hand and made a note to myself to give it a try once I was finished with my scraproom.

Supplies Used: Martha Stewart Crystal Coarse Glitter, Collage Pauge Instant Decoupage – Glossy, Copic Ciao Marker R22 – Light Prawn, Silk Flower, Paintbrush, Tweezers

All I did was color the entire flower using the Super Brush end of my Copic Marker. Brushed on some Instant Decoupage with a paintbrush then holding the stem of the flower with my tweezers I dipped the wet flower into the container of glitter, shook it around a bit to get it completely covered in glitter, tapped off the excess and let it dry. It is that easy and only took about 5 min. to make from start to finish.

Now you can have perfectly matched flowers for any of your projects. I hope you give this a try it is really fun.

Now for a little rambling…

I must say it feels really great being able to walk around my scraproom. This place is so clean and organized, almost too clean and organized. Any one wanna guess how long it will take me to make a huge mess once again… oh what a vicious cycle.

I have a few projects to get finished this week for Memory Makers. They are publishing another wonderful Idea Book which I am so happy to be a part of. They are so great to work with… honestly I cannot say enough wonderful things about them.

I am still trying to come off my high from my great find yesterday. I just LOVE these dishes. They are so pretty. My happy dance is slowing down but I still have a nice happy skip in my step.

And to those of you that have send me email asking about Ansley well she has been doing great these past few days. I mean really really great. She has had a few minor panic attacks but nothing like she has been having… it is so nice to hear her laughing and hanging out with her friends. Hopefully this will stick and she can get back into school soon. I know she really wants to get back.

Working on getting my new workshop in order… More Delight In The Details – Sparkle & Shine. I will be showing you how to recreate 12 projects from the First Chapter in my book. I wont be detailing the techniques since these are in my book but I will be providing you the other info needed to create beautiful and very detailed projects. Hope to see you there it will be lots of fun.

Okay I guess that is enough rambling for today. The dryer buzzer is going off… such a lovely sound.

I nearly fainted when I saw these sitting on the shelf. Seriously I could not get to them fast enough… I got all of these for under $15.00. From what I can find out this is Pink Frosted Mayfair Open Rose Depression glass. It was made in the 1930’s and I LOVE it! I plan on taking these with me when I teach and filling the bowl with German Glass Glitter, sorted buttons will be placed in the relish dish and the platter and sugar and creamer will be filled with lots of great embellishments. I like to have pretty containers… makes it so fun.

So this was my reward for cleaning out my scraproom and clean out I did… I added 3 new Grab Bag Style boxes to my store if you want a good deal on some wonderful scrapping supplies. Believe me these boxes are filled with awesome product. I will be adding a few more tomorrow but have to get some more boxes.

Hope you all had a great day. It is Spring Break week for us.

As you all know I love vintage ledger paper (they have more… just saying) and use it in all kinds of different ways… covering chipboard and tags, mixing it with vintage sheet music and book pages to create unique paper flowers, using it in my die cutter and one thing I REALLY LOVE doing is saving the blank margins to type journaling strips for projects. This keeps the vintage feel and theme of the project authentic. So don’t throw away any of your scraps, not even the tiniest of tiny ones. You will use them. And this little receipt book is going to make some adorable embellishments in projects. I feel so lucky to have found it as it is nearly a full book.

Also I will be teaching my Canvas Sampler Album at The Crafty Scrapper in Waxahachie, Texas, Saturday, April 24th at 2:00. I will only be able to teach 11 people in this class due to limitations on the vintage items used in the project. After this class this project will be retired. I guess I should keep it real with this post and explain why I have been pretty much absent since returning from CHA. My daughter Ansley who by the way just turned 16 on the 28th has been diagnosed with Panic Disorder. She had her first full blown attack the first night I was at CHA. Her attacks look like seizures they are so intense and seeing her have them breaks my heart. She has not been able to attend school and has now been placed on Homebound. We do see improvement and are hoping that she will be back on track in a month, fingers crossed.

So with all that being said taking care of Ansley 24/7 and I mean literally night and day, getting my classes ready for this weekend at Crop-Paper-Scissors, setting up my “You R 2 Tweet” mini workshop, mailing books, replying to email (which by the way I have received some of the sweetest notes from people regarding my book, thank you so much), taking care of everyday family life and chores well, my blog has been slightly neglected… no very neglected.

But I do have a few sneak peeks of the canvas envelopes we will be altering in my Canvas Sampler Album class.

Canvas Envelope One

Canvas Envelope Two

I hope you all will be patient with me regarding my lack of daily blog posts. I am juggling a lot right now and I’m trying my absolute best to keep up. Just know I will be posting as often as I can.

Wishing you all a wonderful day!

This “You R 2 Tweet” mini banner is the fun project I taught at CHA-W in Anaheim this past January. The great thing about this online workshop is you don’t have to show up at 7:00 a.m. to start creating like I and everyone else had to do. You get to create this project in the comforts of your own home and on your own time. I tell ya not being a morning person sure did make that a tough time slot for a class but we all made the best of it (most with Starbucks in hand) and had a great time creating.

This mini banner was created so everyone could finish the project in 90 min. which explains why I only used 3 pages from the Maya Road Mini 2-Ring Triangle Banner Book. And I am happy to report everyone did walk out of class with their finished project in hand. You can use my book “Delight In The Details” to reference the techniques used in this project as I included the page numbers in the instructions.

This “You R 2 Tweet” online workshop will begin March 1st with access continuing to the private blog until March 31st. The cost for this online workshop is $9.95. Once you register for the workshop you will be given access to the complete supply list. On March 1st step-by-step instructions as well as color photos of the mini banner will be posted to the private blog.

I’m looking forward to creating with you once again.
Have a great weekend.
