As the American public's frustration with their elected officials grows, some have decided that the only thing left to do is laugh.
While falling off the fiscal cliff is no laughing matter, the fact that 100 Senators, 535 Representatives and one President could not find common financial ground has provided the creators of internet meme's food for thought.
From throwing the members of Congress into an imaginary Recycle Bin on their desktop to a typically teary John Boehner crying that he 'don't wanna go over the fiscal cliff', the barely disguised rage come through in the hilarious creations.

This comes as a last-ditch tax deal in the Senate might let the U.S. economy escape the worst of the so-called fiscal cliff and avoid going back into recession. But even if the House goes along, the tax increases likely coming in 2013 will dent economic growth anyway.

Now: Goethals followed up ‘Home Alone’ with a lead role on the short-lived sitcom ‘Phenom’ opposite ‘Who’s the Boss’ star Judith Light. After graduating from Vassar, the 34-year-old resumed her acting career, making several guest star appearances on television, most prominently in the recurring role of Maya Driscoll on ’24.’

While the 29-year old actor spent most of the past decade as a stage actor, he has returned to film with roles in ‘Margaret’ and the upcoming parody film ‘Movie 43.’

We love Santa. We really do! He’s probably the coolest old guy we know, spending his life making presents, managing elves and eating cookies. Truth be told, we’re sort of jealous. The jolly old guy usually looks bright and cheery and not all that scary, which is yet another reason we’re fans.

The thing is, sometimes Santa’s photographed on a really bad day. We’re talking about the times he looks nightmarishly weird in those Christmas photos. He has the sort of appearance that gives us involuntary shivers and makes us feel strange all over. It’s a case of the creepy Santa.

Twitter founder Jack Dorsey’s tweet is important for many reasons. Even though the platform wasn’t yet open to the public, Dorsey’s message was the first proper tweet to be sent through Twitter (it’s status ID of 20 is deceptive – the previous 19 tweets are all blanks), and came from a time when the service was still known as Twttr. Vowels were added a few months later.

On May 25, 2008, the Phoenix lander, a robotic spacecraft, descended on Mars. It’s mission: to find evidence of water, to determine Mars’ potential as an environment for life. As the news of Bin Ladin Deaths Broke, Twitter played a key role in the exchange of information, both from mainstream sources and those right on the scene. One important figure was Sohaib Athar who unwittingly provided a tweet-by-tweet coverage of the events leading to Osama’s death. Athar knew something was going on – the helicopters and planes flying outside his house confirmed that – but it wasn’t until he woke the next day that he understood why, and how he had, in his own words, ‘liveblogged the Osama raid without knowing it’, beating Urbahn and everyone else to the punch by hours. Athar’s own story received mainstream coverage, and it once again underlined Twitter’s increasing importance as a vital cog in the wheel of news reportage.
In the months and years to come Twitter will be the source for many more major news stories yet to unfold, as well as being the medium by which that news will be shared. In time, new tweets will be added to this list. But for now, the 13 tweets above are arguably the most epic ever since on Twitter. And whatever happens next, they will always have a place in the network’s growing history.

At 11:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) on May 1st, 2011, U.S. President Barack Obama announced the death of Osama bin Laden, the Saudi-born founder of the jihadist terrorist organization al-Qaeda responsible for the September 11 attacks on the United States. Following this announcement, both the mainstream media and internet began to run amok with floods of conversations and reactions to the news of bin Laden’s dead

According to Akamai (AKAM)², a content delivery network serving about 20% of the Internet’s content, news stories about bin Laden’s death reached its peak at more than 4.1 million pageviews per second on its client sites, which includes major publications like NYTimes, Reuters, BBC and USA Today.

Timeline: Early Developments

At 12:58 am local time on May 1st, 2011, IT Specialist Sohaib Athar (Twitter handle @ReallyVirtual) tweeted about a helicopter near his home in Abottabad, Pakistan. Following President Obama’s adress the next day, he became a topic of interest for ‘live-tweeting’ the raid on the mansion where Osama bin Laden was killed.¹

At 9:47pm (ET) on the same day, Dan Pfeiffer, communications director for the White House, tweeted an announcement about Obama Presdient’s national address scheduled at 10:30 pm. At 10:24pm, Keith Urbahn, chief of staff for the former defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld, tweeted: “So I’m told by a reputabe person they have killed Osama Bin Laden. Hot damn.”
At 10:25 pm, Dwayne Johnson (a.k.a The Rock) tweeted:

Obama / Osama Confusion

After the news broke, several people mixed up “Obama” with “Osama” when reporting the news on various outlets. A headline on Fox News displayed “Reports: Obama Bin Laden Dead”. A screen grab was tweeted out shortly after by Twitter user @KyleHudgins that read “Great Job, Fox40! Classy.”⁷

In Washington, D.C. a Fox news anchor accidentally said “President Obama is, in fact, dead.”

MSNBC’s Norah O’Donnell tweeted “Obama shot and killed”.

The news of Osama bin Laden’s death instantly spread across Twitter, setting a new record for the “highest sustained rate of Tweets ever” according to Twitter’s announcement on May 2nd⁹:

Last night saw the highest sustained rate of Tweets ever. From 10:45 – 2:20am ET, there was an average of 3,000 tweets per second."

At 11p.m. ET, there were 5,106 Tweets per second. At 11:45p.m. ET, when Pres. Obama finished his remarks, there were 5,008 tweets per second.

Fake MLK Quote

After the announcement of Osama’s death, a quote incorrectly attributed to Martin Luther King Jr. began being passed around:

“I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.” --Martin Luther King Jr.

The quote actually comes from the Facebook status update shown below by Jessica Dovey. She prefaced the real MLK quote with her own thoughts, and the entire status update was mistakenly attributed to MLK. By the time it reached Twitter, only the first line was being tweeted “I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy,” but MLK never said this.¹⁰

Within two hours of news reports and Obama administration’s confirmation, a Facebook page titled “Osama Bin Laden is Dead”³ began to accumulate massive counts of upvotes and user-tagged photos, standing at 357k likes and over 600 related photos as of 1:30pm (ET) on May 2nd, 2011.

There is also another Facebook page titled “Bin Laden Ain’t Dead, He’s Chillin With 2Pac,”⁴ which shows a photoshopped image of the deceased rapper Tupac and Osama bin Laden exchanging a hand shake.

On Google Earth

Meanwhile, Google users began posting tongue-in-cheek reviews⁵ of the compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, where the al-Qaeda leader was allegedly hiding before getting fatally shot by the U.S. forces:

It seems that the owner of the house, one Clive Davies, 60, was not only oblivious to the resemblance of his house to the well-known Austrian dictator, but also the last one to hear about the hype the photo of his house created. Clive Davies first heard the news after his son Guy Davies, a warrant officer serving with the 7th Signals Regiment in Kabul, Afghanistan, saw the picture on Twitter and called his wife back in Germany, who then phoned her father-in-law in UK to tell him that his house was internet famous. Asked by the press about his house, he said:

“I have never noticed any similarity before and most people who pass by are so close they probably never notice.Some people say they can see images of Jesus Christ on items such as toast, and I suppose it is just a variation on a theme. I don’t really think it looks like Hitler.”

According to DailyMail, Charli’s spotting of “Hitler House” in Swansea has since inspired other British internet users to find celebrity-to-house doppelgänger matches, from politicians and statesmen to sportsmen and actors.

If there are two things America cares about it's celebs and the future. Why celebs? Because they are popular and we are not, we simultaneously love and hate anyone who is popular and we watch with our hearts a flutter under our jean jackets to see what they do next.

Why the future? Because most people in America were raised in some sort of cult-like faith that told us the end of the world was coming. Many in the US want the end-times to come because they won't have to worry about paying off those doctor bills when it does. Besides the end of the world, the future is just exciting because, well we don't know what will happen. Do The Secret all you want, tomorrow is still a mystery.

Even with the best-laid plans, things can happen. A tuxedo may be too short; the caterers may forget the sporks; the custodians could forget to hose down the dance floor after the 4-H fair. These and innumerable other little ”accidents” lend flavor to a nuptial bash, and should be celebrated for their ability to break you out of a routine. just surfing bumped this silly vids I watched a youtube video called I bet you can't Laugh without smiling, It's not that funny, it's not one of the best from youtube, it does seem ridiculous and stupid, but, after you watch it, even if you feel like an idiot have a try at laughing without smiling.
It is insanely hard, at least without sounding like a drowning walrus of challenged some of my friends to laugh without smiling, they looked at me like I was mad, but tried anyway, we had a lot of fun

Now that we have finally recovered from the New Year's Day festivities, we can start thinking about the rest of the year. It’s too late to make New Year’s resolutions, besides I’ve probably already broken them anyway
My own predictions...Who says life is more exciting when you don’t know what’s going to happen? Bring on the predictions and prophecies!!!

1. Justin Beiber will finally hit puberty, causing the music industry to bring castration back into fashion. It will be too late to save his voice. He will sound like a white Barry White.

2. Angelina Jolie will turn out to be a lesbian increasing her popularity with males by 6000%. In a surprising turn of events, she will marry Jennifer Aniston.

3. Ricky Martin will admit that coming out of the closet was just an elaborate hoax to increase Google searches of his name and will try to reverse his image in an attempt to re-sell records to prepubescent teenagers. We will all reject this, because he really is TOTALLY gay.

4. Chris Rock will finally admit that he is not funny. This will be the first and last time anyone laughs at him

5. In a wardrobe malfunction, Oprah will cut her face with a sharp object revealing her black skin color to be just a mask and that she is actually a white suburban woman from Connecticut. She will give out gifts to keep this a secret.

6. Tupac will be spotted in Kenya rapping in a Swahili hip-hop festival. Elvis and Biggy will attend his concert.
